I also like to think that big companies don’t care to be “creative”. Like the lack of detailed art in the show logo kind of reflects the lack of care they put into other aspects of their company (like the lives of the agents). Or how it kind of reflects the stuck-up vibe of the company. Like they don’t need to put in the effort or be personable, because they’re big and powerful, so why bother? They know they’re running things and everyone else will do nothing about it. Because how can they? (*insert the whole series where Lockwood and Co. work on doing something about it*)

this is a skullarim/skullbins stan account!
skull: Relationships should be 50/50. Lucy cooks us dinner while I sit on the kitchen counter looking pretty.
George: Lucy can’t cook, though. I’d be the one cooking.

Don’t think I’ve talked about it before but I do love that we get to see George “zero social skills” Karim chastise Lockwood for how he handled the whole praising-Lucy-on-the-news situation and it’s perfectly in character, because Lockwood’s so used to being able to charm his way out of situations that he’s legitimately confused, and George may not pick up on social cues, but he knows how to follow directions, and “she specifically asked you not to.” Idk it’s just such a reversal of their usual dynamic where George is just casually and unknowingly offending people that it tickles me.

i am sooo curious as to how lockwood & george became friends, because honestly their personalities clash in so many entertaining ways, like oh to be a fly on the wall of 35 portland row the first week george moves in

I've been thinking about the door on the landing.
It's easy to understand that opening that door is a sign of Lockwood's growth, him learning to trust his friends and let people in, but... keeping it closed was also learning to let people in. Specifically, letting George in. George Karim was fired from Fittes for breaking rules, asking too many questions, and visiting areas he wasn't allowed into. Lockwood knew that and brought him into his metaphorically haunted childhood home anyway. Then Lockwood made a rule that George could not enter the door on the landing, and could not ask why, the three things George had not been able to do at Fittes.
And George didn't.
He didn't ask, he didn't push, and he didn't go in. And that, Lockwood deciding to trust George even when he could be setting himself up for pain and George being worthy of that trust, that's the first cornerstone on which Lockwood could eventually build a new home, a new family. Trusting George not to cross his boundaries was Lockwood's first big leap of faith, his first step towards opening himself to others and healing.
George is just... so important. Lucy and Lockwood are incredible for each other, they're the catalysts for so much of each other's growth, but if Lockwood had met her before he met George he wouldn't have had deep enough roots to begin to bloom.

reminder that it’s GEORGE who lucy first confides in after arriving in london. it’s GEORGE that she has a genuine connection with in the conversation, and she opens up a bit about her past to him. george is so genuinely caring and considerate in the conversation, and you can tell this is when he really changes his mind about lucy and her place in lockwood & co, and the VERY NEXT SCENE he’s telling lockwood not to fire her
