Lucy Carlyle, George Cubbins and Anthony Lockwood (of the not-really-very esteemed Lockwood and Co ghost-hunting agency) have been called to investigate a house by an overprotective brother/brother-in-law. Rather standard, one would think. Except for the boy who was staring down at Lucy - with his head through the wall. --- Charles Rowland, Edwin Payne and Crystal Palace Surname-Von Hoverkraft (of the carefully hidden Dead Boy Detective Agency) have been asked by a client for help regarding the relocation of her bones before a trio of ghost-hunters show up that night. Easily done. Except now Edwin found himself staring at an Agent with his head poking through a wall, revealing that he is, quite obviously, a ghost.

Sooooo, DBD x Lockwood and Co, anyone? Basically, Netflix cancelled two ghost shows. I loved them both.

So I'm writing a crossover, because it's a crime that only one exists (that I can find). If I don't lose motivation and people like it, I might turn this into a little series - I have an entire Google Docs worth of world-building and plot notes to get through and a lot of characters that I reckon would have a grand ol' time together (I say this with both sarcasm and glee).

Netflix, which is full of not having any truly great cult shows in its catalog... Well, stop constantly canceling your shows ? Let them fucking live ! They wasted so many opportunities with 1899 (I'll probably never get over it...), Dark Crystal, Lockwood & Co and many more ! Netflix which is full of the fact that their show don't get many views ? Well if you stopped canceling shows so often, maybe people would take the time to invest their time in what you release, without being afraid that it will be canceled for the umpteenth time for free ?! I'm already freaking out about The Dead Boy Detectives (damn, let Neil Gaiman manage to save the show like with Sandman). Fingers crossed for a miracle of renewal ! Although, as I said before, the show concluded pretty well, but with the very last scene ?! You can't fucking cancel it ! I have to see Niko reunite with his family (and more specifically with Edwin) !

Just finished this eight-episode season, hopefully the first of many, and give it two enthusiastic thumbs up.

It’s a bit “The Sandman meets The X-Files” with a hint of Twin Peaks, veined with humor and humanity. Beautifully cast, great visual flair, the hand of @neil-gaiman, who EP’d—beyond creating the world as comics originally, is very much present in the feel of the show.

Season two soon, please. Let’s hope Netflix does the right thing here coughLockwood & Co.cough.

I only habe one more exam though (Monday, Math exam) and then I'll try to get back to writing (technically seen I also have an English exam but cmon. I'm slaying that)

What I can say right now;

I'll definitely write more for Dead Boy Detectives, maybe even The Sandman, might get back into Lockwood and Co (Simon try not to be obsessed with small fandoms challenge impossible)

AND I've been thinking of maybe writing Character x Character stuff on a second account, because I definitely want this account to stay free of Character x Character, but some ships are too delicious not to write for!

The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself (Half Bad) (gif) - witchy, dark, gay, big potential for a natural polycule, excellent chemistry among the main three characters, I am so mad.

Castlevania - need I say anything?

Dead Boy Detectives (gif) - supernatural, horror, funny, gay ARE YOU FKING KIDDING ME YOU CAN'T JUST CANCEL IT WE ONLY JUST GOT IT

Dead End: Paranormal Park - a trans main character? Cute animation? Supernatural stuff? Hello???

Fate: The Winx Saga (gif) - so much fun, great acting, good soundtrack, good plot twists, childhood throwback, I want my Winx back.

First Kill - LESBIAN MAIN CHARACTERS in a classic trope of a monster (vampire) x monster (vampire) hunter forbidden love? The acting, at first, might not have been what I'd call great but I think it was more of the script's fault.

I Am Not Okay with This (gif) - dark, horror, teen, another lesbian main character, cute as hell, cancelled at the worst possible scene.

The Imperfects (gif) - a bit fucked up plot-wise, tbf, but all the more fun for it. Cool twists and abilities. And Rhys Nicholson as Dr. Alex Sarkov is hilarious. Also, a spin on an ace succubus. Lol.

Lockwood & Co. (gif) - the books were the slowest of slow burns and had the least reliable narrator of all time (Luce. I'm looking at you. Anthony Lockwood is also looking at you.) and the TV series chose the protagonists SO WELL 😭 I loved it. I want more. So much more.

Mindhunter - psychology of serial killers, this had SO MUCH potential for a tonne of more content.

Sense8 (gif) - different cultures, action, an evil old white man, explosions, martial arts, gayness, transness, LOVE CONQUERS ALL, BITCHES. Technically, it's finished, but it was rushed.

Shadow & Bone (gif) - wonderful fantasy! Try not to cry, cry a lot.

Spinning Out (gif) - actual believable representation of a mental/neurological illness (bipolar disorder) and stunning figure skating shots?! Cancelling it was a criminal offence

As some of you may know, Netflix's new 'ghost' show Dead Boy Detective is...well, visually and conceptually looking miiiighty familiar to us members of LockNation, and the announcement tweet on Twitter/X/Whatever it's being called this week has its replies Filled with people comparing the two.

If we're being honest, we agree with the overall vibe of these comments, and find the color palette in particular to be a rather galling smack in the face. Suffice it to say that Netflix's acquisition of this show came at the same time as Lockwood and Co's cancellation, and with its similar genre and intensely similar visuals...well, we can put two and two together.

We encourage those who are interested in replying to this...rather obvious bit of substitution (to be polite and moderate) to keep your replies civil and free of profanity -- we've gotten more than one instance of Netflix marking even the politest L&Co comments as spam -- but, as always, we encourage our passionate LockNation members to speak their minds and show their support for our wonderful show.

Keep it clean, keep it polite -- and above all, keep being loud, LockNation! Don't be discouraged -- this just shows that there's continued interest in the supernatural investigative genre, of which Lockwood and Co is definitely a part, so let's keep it going!
