AYYYYEEE, I think I'm finally happy with him.

Never going to be Sega-comic standards (which are a thing, as I've recently discovered), but I think I'm happy with saying that I can draw the blue cartoon hedgehog.

Dunno what I'm going to do with this new ability, but it's there now.

(Also I remembered the old Sonic Underground cartoon and wanted to draw his siblings. If I'm the middle(ish) child, then he can be too.)

Was looking through DeviantArt's new St.ash thingy and found ancient art of three characters who turn nine this year, including my mascot Willow!

So I figured I'd draw whatever this is to see how much I've improved over the years :D

He never really sees them, the same as Calypso, but they're always there doing stuff when anyone's back is turned.

Learnt a heck of a lot doing this one.

The idea came from Derek Domnic Dsouza on YouTube - his art is absolutely gorgeous and he usually shows the process! Definitely going to give some of his other tutorials a go, so you guys might see more of this kind of thing.

Little Wolf - Epic: The Musical {WIP}

I’ve wanted to do one of these songs for so long. I dunno if this’ll ever get finished, but my goal before restarting Uni in March is to finish at least one animatic :D

I found the 'classic' designs and they're so much fun to draw.

I still want to figure out the modern style, but this is the Sonic and Tails that I grew up with. Also, I remember seeing the old Sonic Underground show as a kid wherein he had a guitar, so he gets one in the top sketch.

M'kay, who was going to tell me that I wasted so much time trying to get the right 'style' for these characters when these are the references I find:

I'm embracing my own because there are many ways to draw a character who is essentially a blue sphere with triangles stuck to him:

(Also, I had to put Tails in there. I was never allowed to play as Sonic because I was too good at killing him.)

There are a few stories to go along with this.

When I was little, the only thing my brothers and I shared (thanks to a massive age gap) were the OG Sonic the Hedgehog games on an old 1992 Sega console (which we still have). I saw the trailer for the new movie and got nostalgic, so I wanted to draw this little piece of my childhood.

However, the last time I drew Sonic was when I was about eight, and I'd promised myself that I was going to learn how to draw him properly when I was older. Well, I'm older now, and furious that I can't quite master the style despite years of improvement, so guess who's going to learn how to draw this damn blue hedgehog.

Also, the whole 'what' thing is something my family does during meals. We (read: my brother and father) usually stare at each other or do something stupid until someone slips and says 'what'. I have yet to win, but that's also on my New Year's Resolution list :D

We all know about the Lotus Eaters and Winions from Epic, but for some reason my brain said there should be three of these creatures so I propose Ogygia Sprites - lil' guys who hang about Calypso's island and magically make stuff happen around her, although she can't interact with them at all.

Dunno, I thought it would make sense to have them as her background chorus in Not Sorry for Loving You (unless it was the trees and rocks singing XD)

I'd like to imagine the reason Crystal is wearing a Christmas hat is because Charles made her.

Crystal: I'm not wearing that thing, Charles. Charles: Aw, c'mon, one of us has to, and Edwin and I are ghosts, so most of the people we pass won't see it. But if you wear it, then everyone gets a little bit of Christmas cheer from the Dead Boy Detectives! Crystal: I'm NOT wearing - Crystal, three seconds later:

Anyway, I read Stephen Fry's Odyssey a while ago, and Telemachus and Odysseus are so funny. So I decided to draw some of the scenes and create a design for Telemachus :D

Anyway, I've been having one of those horrid weeks that promises me pain, regret and guilt in the future, so in keeping with that theme, have this freaky Greek and his long-suffering crew in (slightly) less murdery times.

(Featuring Incorrect Quotes from @shebeafancyflapjack and designs based heavily on @gigizetz, because those are now the only canon designs to me, apparently)

M'kay, so I was re-reading my DBDA + Lockwood and Co book and realised that I made a pretty annoying mistake that any detective could properly sniff out.

So, if any of you guys read through it and find the mistake, comment on the A/N chapter of the fic with what you think it is. If you're the first one, I'll make a fully rendered scene with either one or both of the fandoms that is entirely up to you! (Sexual or NSFW stuff excepted, of course).
