You know how alot of Historical Figures in the PJO Universe were Demi-Gods? For instance, Harriet Tubman being a daughter of Hermes, Amelia Earhart being a daughter of Aphrodite, William Shakespeare being a son of Apollo, and George Washington being a son of Athena?

Well, what if Athena kept up the tradition of having her Chosen Mortal/Demi-God every couple of generations in hope that they are a reincarnation of Odysseus who bathed in the river lethe?

And what if Alexander Hamilton was her final champion?

There's a lot of people who already point out the parallels between Hamilton and Odysseus, but now put Hamiltons story alongside a broken down version of Odysseus?

We have a Kid who was born on an island that was part of a greater country, who bartered and stole (traits of Hermes) to make a living, traveled across the ocean on a vast journey, went to war, was a revolutionary strategist and leader, thinking up plans, organizations, and strategies that were ahead of their time, thinking 20 steps ahead. He fell in love with a second born child/Cousin of a prominent family while everyone else was Vying for the hand of the eldest, married them, and then left her at home while he fought in war. Had a Son that was the light of their life, and lost their best friend (Polites/Laurens) in a battle that occured after the war was over.

But, where Odysseus left for war after his son was Born, Phillip was born while Hamilton was still at war, being born near the end of the war, with Hamilton leaving his newborn son to fight in the final battle of the revolutionary war. Where Odysseus stayed loyal to Penelope throughout his entire life, Hamilton cheated on her with Maria Reynolds. Everything that Hamilton did (aside from cheat on his Wife) is something that Odysseus would have done, that Athena's Chosen would have done.

Athena hoped that Alexander was another Odysseus, having all the correct traits, a similar but slightly different backstory, AND Hamilton was the right hand man of Washington, a confirmed Son of Athena. But then, Hamilton Cheated on Eliza, and that's when Athena Leaves Him. That's when His life starts to go to shit. That is Hamiltons Polyphemus, doing an act that even Athena can't concile, that Athena, constantly missing her 1 true friend and searching for a replacement for him, could never concile as something Odysseus would have done if he survived to these times.

And so she leaves, and everything that could go wrong, goes wrong.

Imagine if at the end of Get In The Water, Athena appears as an owl flying above the sea and confronts Poseidon and saves Odysseus (like in the actual Odyssey) and signs like a reprise from Little Wolf, I think that would be absolutely epic

Quick car thoughts

Odysseus knew his men were ready to give up and settle on a new island. Odysseus wanted to see Penelope if he had sacrificed himself she would never know what happened. What he attempted to do. Coming home was the only way that Penelope and the other wives and families would know what happened.

In short:

All the men on the ship were ready to abandon their lives while their families who were still hoping they would come home. At least with Odysseus, he would make it home. He could tell them how they fought bravely and it was his selfish choice to sacrifice them. Let their families think they died nobly versus ever finding out they were abandoned.
