I didn't get the trans Stan twins headcannon at first - mainly because I couldn't imagine adult Stan and Ford giving themselves almost identical names - but then I remembered how close they were as kids and, honestly, it would be more unbelievable if they didn't give themselves matching names. Who wouldn't want to share a name with their best friend in the world? And Ford keeps the name even after his fallout with Stan??? Crying.

Headcanon #500:

Mind is afraid that when he distances himself from or above the others, that he will be too far gone to come back down. That when his paranoia gets the best of him, he'll shut everyone else out and then be completely alone with no way back to where he was before.

Heart is afraid that if Mind is right, with the idea that what he does isn't genuine, that he's being manipulative without realizing it. Then therefore being Whole without himself there is the better option. That he'd be thrown out because his ideas would then be "not worth it" or even "vile"

Soul is afraid that no matter what he does or how good things will be, they'll always eventually split up again or even end up worse. Even then he has no clue what he's supposed to do or be during everything, and so because of that he'll never be whole. Or worse that he'll never really "feel" whole.

so in HoO we get a totally unaddressed thing about the Hephaestus cabin apparently have an underground tunnel system beneath their cabin that they’ve been excavating for almost a century and haven’t found the end to yet. We never hear about this again. But when Jake Mason is explaining it, he jokes to Will Solace that “You Apollo guys can’t have all the fun,” which implies the Apollo cabin also has secrets.

Anyways I think we should just start headcanoning random wild secret areas of each cabin just for fun.

And I want to give my opinion about what I think Rain Code characters smell like

(Also interested in hearing what you guys think)

Spoilers for chapter 0... and maybe chapter 5 actually

Bonus point : I tend to mistake scent and smell, so, might use both, sorry in advance

So,

Yuma : Smells like the plastic of rainboots/rain coat + faint flowery smell of the likes of roses (no specific one) or lavender

Shinigami : Smells like dusty feathers and strawberry candies, or something sweet maybe vanilla too

Aide (Fake Zilch) : While impersonating Zilch : Cologne and some faint blend of animal smells (like rodents, cat litter or dogs... maybe especially rodents). While himself : maybe cologne, and a faint smell of blood and gun powder (maybe also dirt but hmm not sure about this one)

Melami : Makeup and luxury perfumes

Pucci : Laudry mostly

Aphex : Either cologne or strong deodorant for men + faint scent of sweat

Zange : Paper/ink, and cigar and cologne

Swank : Cigar and I can't think of anything else

Yakou : Cigarettes of course, and maybe some food smell of some kind + some kind of sea smelling shampoo/shower gel

Halara : Rain coat/rain boots and maybe some catnip to attract cats + maybe sakura blossom shower gel

Fubuki : Pink rose and some type of wood like pine maybe... or cinnamon

Vivia : Ashes/dust and books/papers

Desuhiko : Depending of whether he's on a case or not. If on a case : a blend of laundry, makeup, perfume and cologne. If not on a case... Some neutral deodorant and that specific smell from clothes you wear often. You know the one? It's not stinky, it just has a distinct scent, even when clean

Priest : Wax and something else like maybe... I don't know, something strong but not agressive

The other 3 from chapter 1 (not counting the boy and his dad) : Idk. Maybe cookies or apple pie for the Servant

Seth : Dirt and a blend of flowers like daisies or something (lilac?)... Maybe daisies and lemon actually

Martina : I don't really know, perfume and something else?

The Ramen Stand Owner : Well, ramen (I know there are different kinds, so like, either a blend of many kinds, or just the most basic one)

Makoto : Lavender for sure, and enigma. I don't know how to describe it, but an enigma/mystery has some kind of smell (not the words, the idea/phenomenon in itself). Or maybe it's like the mood an enigma sets, which somehow kinda transposes into a scent? Idk how to describe it... + maybe some conditioner

The previous Amaterasu CEO : Idk, rich man something, like whisky or tobacco or cologne, idk, the kind of things tou think about when you picture a CEO in your mind

So I finally watched Sense8. I regret not watching it sooner for a couple reasons. But I'm so glad I finally watched it.

So i was reading @basil-does-arttt 's fanfic "Frustrations and Gentle Affections." and I realised something. For context, Nico has convinced the Spardas to sit down in their Devil Trigger forms and let her pick off loose scales for her experiments and creations. While she is doing this, she wonders to herself whether if demons groom themselves. This led me to the idea, what if demons moult?

(Bunch of stuff about moulting below. I'm no expert, and my sources are all online searches)

I will concentrate on bird and crustacean moulting for this. Moulting for birds is the replenishment and replacement of feathers. A bird's plummage will noticeably change over the course of the year. As their plummage dulls, they will then start to moult. They typically go through either partial moults (replacement of a portion of theif feathers) and/or complete moults (replacement of all feathers, birds typically don more vibrant features after complete moults).

Now moving onto crustaceans, specifically lobsters. Rather than an internal skeleton, lobsters have external skeletons called an exoskeleton. As a lobster grows, their exoskeleton will become too tight, and they will shed their exoskeleton and be left with a soft shell. Immediately after moulting, a lobster will pump their body full of fluids and enlarge their soft shell. A lobster grows ~20% per moult. After enlarging their bodies, a lobster will absorb water to rehydrate and will eat their previous shells to regain nutrition and protein. Due to an enzyme called telomerase, lobsters continue to grow through their lives, and the occurrence of senescence is slow. (It was actually due to this that the myth of lobsters' immortality came to place).

@basil-does-arttt 's interpretation is closer to that of a bird's moult. Individual feathers/scales fall off and are replaced. But I think lobsters' moult align more with demons. I'm pretty sure that as demons age, the more powerful they become. Lobsters also continue to grow as they age. Apart from natural old age eventually killing lobsters, another reason not all lobsters continue growing is that moulting is consumes a lot of energy, the larger the body, the more energy necessary to moult(like how triggering dt takes up a lot of energy for the spardas). Perhaps demons have a similar problem? They can't continue growing for eternity due to energy consumption, and that would explain why we haven't seen any behemoth sized demons. Lobsters' longevity is also seen in demons' long lifespans. Once again, this could be due to demons continually creating a certain enzyme to sustain them like how lobsters do. Also, I feel like eating their shedded moult is something demons would do, just feels right.

Another thing I wanted to bring up is this "cult" that is growing a leviathan lobster god. Sure, it is a joke thing to incentivise people into recycling and caring more for the earth, but they do have a point with the large lobster. The largest lobster found weighed 20.15 kgs (44.4lbs) , the average lobster weights ~0.6 kgs (1.3lbs). That means the largest lobster was ~3591.6% bigger than the average lobster. Now imagine that with demons, if the twins SDT is the average size of a demon, a levithan sized demon would be so fucking huge.

Thinking about transmasc sanji again... who undergoes top surgery before he joins the strawhats and doesnt tell anyone that hes trans. The only person who knows (that hes aware of, Robin knows everything) is Chopper who gives him his HRT shots. He's convinced Luffy (and Chopper somehow) that he has an illness that he must be given a shot for every month or he'll die just to keep them off his back (he stole the idea from Ussop). He is the only morning showerer and intentionally schedules his time in the bathroom to when everyone else is asleep.

Sanji learns what it means to be a man from the chefs at the Baratie. He purposefully twists his love of women to look horny in the eyes of others, because thats what he saw the chefs do. He refuses to show any positive affection to men and channels it into aggression instead because thats what he saw Zeff do to the other chefs. And leans so hard into being masculine that no one will ever be able to question his masculinity.

He is finally able to internalize that its okay to be himself when hes on Momoiro island, and learns that you can still be masculine and wear dresses and feel pretty. And when he comes back after the timeskip and finally comes out to all of them.

sjsjdj i was thinking about this earlier, what do you think undyne’s sleep schedule is like/what type of a sleeper she is?

She definitely wakes up at like 5am to do like training and all that, but she's also just so chaotic so like she never really has a set bed time or whatever 'cause she's mostly doing whatever madness she can think of without really considering if she keeps at whatever she's doing she won't go to sleep until like midnight. She acts like she's absolutely fine with that much amount of sleep because she's trained for stuff like that or whatever, but like, it's very clearly very unhealthy. She does not care

I'm kinda torn, because I can't choose weather she'd: A) be a really heavy sleeper who'd sleep through pretty much anything, or B) extremely alert in her sleep who wakes up from the sound of a slight gust of wind in case there's danger. I think B sounds more like her, whereas A would probably be more likely to be played off as a joke or something

Is a big gift giver, asking when ppl's birthdays are is one of the first things he asks after befriending someone

Had to remind Lincoln the date of his and Amelia's anniversary. Went something like this

"Thom! Thom! Where are you?"

"I'm here, what do you need that requires such an unpleasant summoning?"

"Sach and I's anniversary..."

"Is coming up, yes? What about it?"

"So it is soon... what's the date?"

"Lincoln. Are you serious?"

Him and Lincoln definitely get into big arguments sometimes. They usually end with Thom getting fired or quiting

Is usually really calm when driving but if someone does something very stupid and puts him and his passengers at extreme risk the road rage is let loose. Gets over it quickly though and acts like nothing happened

- Peter is the opposite and if put in a near death situation while driving simply goes "oh... well that wouldn't have been good."

Is probably the lightest sleeper ever while Peter is a really heavy sleeper. Peter will sleep through an earthquake but Thom will wake up to the floorboard creaking or Peter moving slightly in his sleep

Still occasionally partakes in fencing when he has the time (I mean c'mon, he almost went to the Olympics ain't no way he doesn't fence from time to time. You don't just give up on a sport when you're that good)

- probably stopped fencing due to an injury and decided to focus on his career or schooling instead of going back

He enjoys the rain but doesn't like storms or heavy rain that much. He will appreciate the beauty of lightning sometimes but usually he closes the blinds/curtains and ignores the storm as much as possible

Hot weather is the bane of his existence. He hates it for Lincoln's sake but he also just hates being sweaty and hot and not being able to do anything about it ( I'm projecting oops-)

Knows how to say boss (or any variation of boss like sir) in a bunch of languages

(( It's been such a hot minute since it's happened, that I forget that most people who follow this blog don't know what happens when Miranda sincerely catches a crush and knows it, for once!

In short: if Miranda ever does manage to genuinely fall for someone and wants them, then, firstly, she's going to panic. Miranda is someone who, yes, is very confident in herself and believes that she has a right to every good thing in life, but that definition of "good thing" has been severely biased by the Merkingdom. The only things she really indulges in actively wanting and pursuing are things that the Merkingdom tells her she is supposed to want and pursue in the first place, things that are acceptable for a royal to want and things which are "normal" for them to want. This is why she doesn't actually mind dating, so long as she gets to treat the other party as a disposable toy for her to do what she pleases with — because it is common for royals to seek relationships like this, and because it helps to reinforce their place as royals.

Sincerely, very sincerely, wanting and caring for someone and actually feeling something for them, does not help reinforce this system. It leaves her vulnerable, either by other royals catching onto this, or through the other party not being well-equipped to handle the entire situation (in all the ways that it can go wrong). It is treating someone as an equal who the Merkingdom does not agree is an equal, and, even worse, it is giving Miranda a priority above the Merkingdom itself which she might hold greater loyalty to. That in particular is especially bad, given how much of Merkingdom politics is a reflection of their social dynamics to begin with.

This is why it takes so long for Miranda to admit it to herself. To do so is to admit she's not doing what she's supposed to do, that she's being bad, that she's failed in some fundamental level to be what the Throne demands her to be, and that's a lot of heavy stakes working against ever realizing when she likes someone. It has to get so bad and so intense that Miranda effectively has to admit to herself that she has done something that, in her mind, is severely wrong, and there's no way to avoid it or forget about it.

Thus, she tends to panic fairly bad. She is scared, she wants something and she was not supposed to do that, and every last moment of her life as Crown Princess is telling her that she very well might die because of this and that she will very much deserve it if it happens. It's very hard for her to connect this as anything other than a bad thing, and this is even harder to deny because Miranda liking someone also endangers them as well.

The Merkingdom will not tolerate such risks and threats, especially not to their Crown Princess, and other royals will innately view anyone who has Miranda's attention as a threat to themselves and their livelihoods. And if Miranda sincerely cares about someone, then she doesn't want them to get hurt because of her, which is made even worse by how convinced she is that she might be the one to hurt them too. Miranda's as much a royal as any of the others too, and all of Miranda's prior history of dating begins to work against her, reminding her of how easy it would be to dispose of them or harm them.

Secondly, this does present in a heightened and extreme want to bite her person of interest.

Contrary to what's above, this isn't actually a royal thing. It's a merfolk thing. They have many different ways to bite each other with many different connotations, and one way that they bite each other is both notoriously intimate, and tends to leave a recognizable bite mark on the other party, thus physically indicating that the two of them are close.

It's just a quirk of how merfolk attraction works then, that they focus so much on wanting to bite someone else when they're especially into them. It goes back to their social bonds, reinforcing them and helping to establish a new and closely tied bond, and helps secure it by gesturing to all other merfolk as a part of the social landscape that they all have to navigate. A merfolk who is especially down bad for another merfolk translates this idea as a need to bite them and be bitten back in return, to claim them as "theirs" and to be considered "mine" in turn. It's not really possessiveness nor territorial behavior, not in the way we'd understand it, but a deep and intense need to belong to someone, and a desire for that belonging. It's as much a physical thing as having a house that they live inside of, and is one of the fundamental desires behind merfolk building their miivt'ia and other relationship hierarchies.

This is intense for merfolk to begin with, being hypersocial and needing near-constant contact and interaction with each other. It is especially intense for Miranda, who is deeply repressed and cannot easily confront these desires and emotions in herself, and who perceives this sensation as being nearly painful in its intensity.
