It can't be overstated how powerful the catharsis is when a scene of a character connecting with their wounded inner child is done right. The key poses...the expressions...the timing...storytelling like this can help to provide some healing for so many people in the audience.

#(hear it from me as a former therapist --)#I basically have had many sessions with clients where it's WAY easier to visually show them what inner child work is like #rather than verbally trying to break down the concept and explain it to them in mere words #if you show them visually it hits the subconscious right away. bypasses the conscious mind and cold logic #to show this in the form of art drives the concept home that much more #that's why we need stories about healing done right #the How to Connect Lovingly part is soooo hard to do honestly (speaking from my own personal experiences too)#it's so easy to keep loathing your wounded inner kid and finding him/her/them pathetic #arcane spoilers #arcane s2 #jinx arcane #isha arcane #arcane #literally like...now that I have seen this scene I want to dig up the old photo of smol me that I used in my own therapy --#to connect with my own horribly traumatized inner kid

weird hearing "were you a Theatre Kid" "were you a Sports Kid" "were you a Choir Kid" "were you a Dance Kid" bc no? i mean i did all of that and more but resented ever minute of it? actively avoided sticking with anything? i was a "In This Family After School Activities Are Mandatory Kid"

#oh and i was really really bad at all of it btw #which was a good thing actually otherwise i would have gotten bored even *more* quickly #christ if i was good at a Activity i probably would have had to stick with it #that would have been EXHAUSTING #i survived soooo many Activities by standing in the background doing the bare minimum so I could focus on the Hyperrealistic Daydreams #baseball was my favorite. if u wear a glove u can literally just stand in the back of a field & stare at grass & no one bothers you #i mean usually no one bothers you but there is one specific situation where everyone starts yelling your name real loud and pointing

i have so many thoughts about luo binghe rising early from the endless abyss but instead of joining huan hua palace he returns to qing jing peak for revenge, believing his shizun must be happy and celebrating, but instead he finds a grief-stricken shen qingqiu who calls out for binghe like he's still there and who sits at his sword mount for hours every day, holding himself in a state of inedia and neglecting the care of without-a-cure like he's punishing himself; and binghe decides then and there that no one can look after his shizun and keep him safe like he can, and his shizun clearly needs him even if he doesn't want to see him, so he follows shen qingqiu in secret and helps him from the shadows

#he leaves all kinds of meals but bc shen qingqiu doesn't know its from binghe he doesnt want it #also he follows shen qingqiu like a second set of footsteps #shen qingqiu starts to believe hes haunted #also bc its binghe he probaby sits at shen qingqius bedside and watches him sleep #he also tries to distance shen qingqiu from everyone bc he genuinely believes they dont care about him #(they are actually trying to give shen qingqiu space and care for him from a distance)#for extra angst you can add shen qingqiu getting a little paranoid and the others not believing him #also bc of shen qingqius mental state he gets more flare ups of without a cure that make him ill #soooo many thoughts #feel free to add!!!#svsss #scum villian’s self saving system #scum villain #luo binghe #shen qingqiu #bingqiu
