there's been a very depressing uptick in those "best of reddit" compilations featuring stories about pregnant women (and girls!) who are stuck in an awful, usually abusive situations.

They have no way clean way out, since they are in incredibly vulnerable positions and have to rely on their partners/parents/etc. Even if they managed to get away, they will remain tied to their partners through their child. And that's if they survive.

This, too, is why access to birth control and safe abortions is vital to women's safety.

On November 5th, US citizens will elect a President, a new Congress, and a third of the Senate. Both sides have made their positions clear. A majority democratic government will sign reproductive rights into law. Any republican majority, especially a 'republican' president, will continue to block it.

Use your vote wisely.

thinking about Monoma talking to Aizawa before the final battle. thinking about him asking Aizawa, in the bluntest terms possible, how dangerous he thinks it's going to be. (if the plan falls through, Aizawa and Monoma will be some of Shigaraki's first targets. Monoma knows this).

thinking about how Aizawa would answer honestly because he doesn't sugarcoat things, least of all things as serious as this. thinking about how he would tell Monoma that it's going to be dangerous - incredibly so - and that Monoma doesn't have to go through with it. but they both know that it's a lie; of course Monoma has to go through with it. (there isn't any other option. not really).

thinking about Monoma writing letters just in case something goes wrong. a long letter to class B. individual notes for Vlad King and his closest friends. between the training and the writing, there isn't really any time for sleep, but it doesn't matter. (he wasn't going to be able to sleep anyway).

thinking about Monoma, at 16 years old, starting a war. a war that, at the end of the day, he knows that he might not come back from.

The Robins treating Commissioner Gordon like any other adult in their lives while he’s trying to keep a professional distance because (1) child and (2) vigilante.

Jim knows that there is a necessity for Batman in Gotham and he’s not happy about it, but he accepts it. He cannot accept that there is a child out there fighting crime so he would love to not interact with it.

It’s very hard to do that when Robin shows up in his office like, “I’m tired. Can I take a nap here?”

Jim says no and points out that he can’t be there. Robin just gives him a blank look (or Jim thinks it’s blank) and he says slowly, “because you’re a vigilante and that is a crime.”

“Oh,” says Robin. “I can sleep in the holding cell then?”

Actually so tired that people mainly focus on the bdsm when they talk about La Pianiste when we literally have this dynamic right here. Like, that's insane.

What if you were a little girl in her 40's who couldn't grow up because of your mother-wife who made you sleep in her bed and forced you to repress every sexual desires and thoughts of becoming your own person just to keep you close to her ? What if you fought back and yearned for dangerous things out of her reach ? But also, what if you let her because it's all you've ever known and been taught to want ?

Further 'Steve plays D&D' shenanigans.

He plays in what the party call 'baby's first campaign', the off tangent, more chaotic and lighter campaign that Eddie's running.

He doesn't play properly, because he has zero interest in D&D at all. Eddie lets him get away with it, which everyone else finds unfair, but 'tough shit kiddies, DM's word is law'.

Steve's only character requirement is that he always has 'the bag thing' (aka the bag of holding) and mostly uses it as a weapon. Annoying NPCs, enemies or fellow party members? In the bag they go, and in the bag they suffocate. Only worthy enemies get to be killed by his sword.

He doesn't remember character names or races, instead giving them a nickname and number. (ie frog guy 1, frog dude 2). Jeff and Lucas pick up on this immediately and join in.

At first he doesn't know which of his dice to use and when. Eddie gets used to just handing him the right one...so now Steve automatically holds his hand out whenever he needs to roll. (It's much quicker.)

Once everyone knows that he and Eddie are dating, he openly and blatantly tries to negotiate re-rolls for kisses during their smoke/snack breaks (and sometimes things written down on scrap paper that makes Eddie's eyes go wide). It works most of the time, and the kids hate it, even though it works in their favour.

Steve and Eddie clash only once, when Steve's first character dies early on. Eddie hands him another character sheet, very similar, and Steve immediately names him the same name. Eddie tells him no. Steve argues for a while before looking him right in the eye and changes just the first letter of his name instead (ie Rob instead of Bob).

Steve has zero connection to his character. It's just a fun game to him, but the others take it way, way more seriously. Open the booby trapped chest? Sure, Steve will do it. Drink the potential poison? Why not! Eddie will just give him a new character if it goes wrong. There's no actual consequences, unlike the Upside Down stuff.

Everything is a NAT roll to Steve, not just 20 and 1. Nat 4, Nat 8, the whole lot. Dustin hates it so damn much.

He tries to get as many NPCs to join their party as he can, mainly so Eddie can be 'part of their team' too, instead of 'just playing the bad guys'. Eddie tells him that's not how it works, but Steve's insistent.

In combat Steve WILL waste his potions of healing if one of the party annoyed him recently. Gareth was once rolling death saves, and Steve ignored him to heal a non fatal wound on NPC #24 instead. Gareth nearly walked out, but Will took pity on him and healed him on his turn.

It's a completely different atmosphere to the 'serious' campaign, but that's what makes it more fun. Even though Steve's main goal is to annoy the rest of Hellfire and prove that their nerdy game is supposed to be fun, they don't seem to actually mind.

In fact, they love it when Steve argues back with Eddie. None of them will do it, but the DM threats just don't work on Steve. He had to roll disadvantage all night? He rolls shit anyway. Threats to kill his character off? Steve doesn't care.

And on the other hand, flattery, flirting and outright bribery works so well on Eddie that it's kind of pathetic. Steve knows that Eddie wants him there and takes full advantage to get what the party wants.

Eddie refuses to let him join the main campaign because of it.

the pro-bullying dumbasses on social media are obviously wrong and cruel, but i also think (or maybe hope) they like...genuinely have no idea what they're referring to. like they think 'bullying' is some shit you'd seen on a nickelodeon comedy or something, like some pg insults and a smash cut and your underwear's on your head, and not like. literal assault and murder attempts. like its such a complete disconnect from what it actually looks like when people talk about 'shoving into lockers' as if that's a cartoony action and not a deeply violent and traumatizing idea when you actually think about it for more than a second.

im rly enjoying the rebound a lot more than i ever imagined but i find it an interesting choice that in the beginning of the show after the new basketball team was formed i was thinking i was looking forward to get to know the team supporting characters more but unfortunately the more that they show the team the less i like them

I played the WoW remix this weekend because my partner and I discovered it's actually fun and we raided the tail end of MoP and most of WoD. Compendium and stuff will resume next week. 💖 I think I needed a weekend of brainless nonsense.

For the next BAT audio drama I kinda hope they put Kuukou through the horrors, I love Kuukou and all but I want to know what the absolute fuck is his problem. I really hope we get to finally find out what happened to Mama Harai. What I think happened to Mama Harai is something involving the ocean, I always found it ironic that Kuukou dislikes the ocean considering where he lives so I thought maybe that has to do with Mama Harai not being around.

all i want is for kuukou to have fun and live life but yeah, we have reached the point where it’ll be straight bizarre if we don’t get his backstory lol. kuukou enjoying nature to the point he takes solace in it but dislikes the ocean is soooo telling

and so i hope it’s mama harai too lol!!!!! whether the drama is she gave kuukou a reason to hate the ocean, or is the reason he hates smoking and alcohol, or is the reason he naturally turns to self sacrifice, or all of the above!!!!! i would like to know lol!!!!!

not me popping back on here with a post after months of semi-inactivity (uni is being a bitch) just to reiterate how much i love writing the pahkitew island cast.

aside from sammy and amy (obviously), literally everyone else can be shipped with one another and it'd make sense to some degree, like it takes skill to create a group of people so inherently shippable (platonically and/or romantically) and ofc the writers didn't know it they just shoved a bunch of random ppl together and dusted their hands off on it but fr tho 😭

(yeah im planning out my leonave 'stranger things inspired' au, and the gears are turning, and i forgot just how much i love writing for this dumbass group)
