hold up, I need to talk about this for a bit. I know it may seem like random graffiti, but because it has gears and such, his future might've been set in stone. To become TV.

Okay, the SMG4 universe has a different way of how time and body necessities work. But hunger and time are still things. The implications are kinda of messed up if you think about it: Mr Puzzles stayed in his room for YEARS without food or even sleep, watching everything on TV. He would've been a CORPSE by adulthood. No wonder Mr Puzzles has a thin waist.

There is something in philosophy called "Ship of Theseus" that basically is: what if, gradually over time, we replace every part of a person and the question would be, are they the same person anymore. Metaphorically and perhaps literally, the real man before Mr Puzzles came to be is already dead.

But just based on the reactions from the watch party with the SMG4 team and also just seeing everybody's reactions to WOTFI this year, um.... Yeah, you guys surely showed me I still must be doing something right." *laugh* "But, no no no. In all honesty, once more, thank you all genuinely. Genuinely, thank you all once again to the SMG4 community, to Luke, to Kevin, the SMG4 team. Everybody. Thank you all so much for showing me that I apparently still got it and I can still do the thing as it were." *chuckle* "Um, I do really hope you all enjoyed WOTFI this year. Oh, we enjoyed this year's WOTFI, SMG4 Team! As Mario would say, that was-a loads of fun! The animation, the art, the music, everything was really really good. There are a few plot tweaks here and there that need a bit of work, but otherwise, it was great! Props to everyone on the Team! I can't wait to see what you guys do next.

A Hypothetical cast for a Snow White story, set in The Lands that Are

ok so.. hi. i freaking love snow white, she's one of my favourite princesses (after rapunzel obviously) and if the Lang brothers decide to continue doing stories set in the Lands that Are, they need to do Snow White next. Anyways here's my dream cast.

Snow White: Either Mariah Rose Faith or hell, even a new starkid. When I think about Snow, I think about childlike wonder and innocence, and Mariah could pull it off. But that being said, a new starkid (MARY KATE WILES COUGH COUGH COUGH) could be super cool!! :3

The Evil Witch Queen: Kim Whalen could totally pull off a badass evil queen. Kim hasn't played any extremely evil roles yet, so I think it could really show off her range (SHE TOTALLY HAS RANGE). Or fuck, Lauren Lopez. Just refer to Linda and tell me she could not play an evil queen. But that being said if we could get Rachael Soglin to come back to be an evil queen, I'D CRY!

The Magic Mirror: Hear me out, Nick Lang as the Magic Mirror. I think a comedic mirror would just be SO SILLY. And Nick played the silliest of sillies (Robin) so he coud pull it off. That being said, Joey Richter could pull this off as well.

The Prince: Now, I have three options for the prince. First one, James Tolbert. I know he's already played a prince in the lands that are, but guys... it would be so funny if all the princes in the land look exactly the same. Second option, Curt Mega. Curt gives off prince vibes, like he'd scare you as you were singing into a well, and join in. And my final option, Will Branner. Will Branner, although he has only played Max, could totally pull off a charming prince. come on now.

The Huntsmen: Now I have two ideas. One is normal, the other is for the wlw gays. Jon Matteson as the Huntsmen would be so cool, because in most adaptations the Huntsmen lets Snow White go, and I feel like Jon can play a sweet character like that. And my other idea.. a fem huntsmen, a huntsWOMAN. She could either be played by Angela Giarratana or Bryce Charles.

The Dwarves: I'm not going to individually pick which drawf a starkid is going to play because all versions have different types of dwarves, and names for them. But I think everyone in the cast except for Snow White, The Evil Queen, and the Narrator should be a dwarf. And I think the dwarfs should be puppets

Oh, and the Narrator will still be Jeff Blim, and there will be puppet animals :3 but seriously, whatever starkid does with Snow White (if they do do anything) it will be KILLER! I will fly my little booty from Australia to see it live.

brief summary: emotionally detached lesbian leader of a mercenary group saves a sweet peppy manakete woman (who does look like shes 20 and not 11) and ends up getting hauled into her adopted unadopted father's capitalistic quest to conquer all the (lycian alliance like) other nations on his continent. manakete woman is like hey um this is fucked up why are you lostening to this guy and the leader is like well i have mysterious reasons. they do a few war crimes before they realize Why : evil cult of guys who wanna revive a fell dragon are working in the distant Hugeass Empire to do just that and need manaketes to do this... but they scared them all off by existing so theyre trying to bribe people to do it. the warring alliance are too busy at war to do that, the nation of knockoff laguz are too busy giving a shit about other shapeshifters, and the other less defined nations dont have the manpower to capture a fuckimg dragon. the merc leader realizes this and as she has become a little gay but mostly besties w her manakete friend, she begins working against her father unfather to stop this shit from happening. she unconquers the other nations in the alliance but given she and her band defeated and killed the leaders of the nations they have no leader and given her band is now the strongest... people just start following the merc leader anyway. it helps that most of the leaders of the allied nations were assholes making the commonfolk do battle for their personal gain, and the merc leader does her own battling. merc leader lesbian is crowned the first queen of this new united kingdom (against her will) and is bullied into marrying Someone bc thats how royalty works and she chooses someone from her merc band Of Course.

20 year timeskip.

the new nation has become a safe haven for manaketes and all sorts of outcasts as Her Gay Highness has worked tirelessly to make sure the people who made her queen dont regret it because she has thinly veiled anxiety issues about her worth as a person. thanks guy (the lord who made her conquer in the first place) who adopted this war orphan from the streets and then unadopted her when his wife finally bore him a child. oh speaking of children given its been 20 years, characters who youve paired can have kids. but you gotta pair em before the timeskip, and only two characters always have a kid and thats the merc leader and the manakete girl best friend (gay). hey remember that huge fuckoff empire to the east? Yeah theyve launched a fullscale war against the laguz nation to just force them to hand over any manaketes after the evil cult installed a 14 year old puppet emperor. the laguz nation goes Ah Fuck Ah Shit Ah Fuck and asks their good buddies the combined kingdom to help them which they Do. but by the time they get there, the losses are extreme and the king of the laguz nation is dying. the ex merc leader helps his successor into her role and the two women go "oh yeah we're going to fucking destroy the evil empire" and then they do. The war is hard and sucks but eventually they fight their way to the evil cult. a few things happen : 1 the manakete who the ex merc leader has been besties with for 20 years is the DAUGHTER of the fell dragon the cult is trying to resurrect. the merc leader freaks out, and because of her trauma about people she loved abandoning her, kicks the manakete woman out of the band and Also Take Your Damn Kid. and your spouse unless the spouse is the merc leader in which case a truly heartwrenching cutscene plays. 2 : the cult members immediately find snd capture the manakete woman and are preparing to kill her kid and use the blood of the fell dragon to revive it. the merc leader hears about this and decides the final battle has to start Now to save them because holy shit that was a mistake obviously theyre not working together. 3 : yknow who WAS working w the cult? all the nobles who hate the merc leaders unnoble blood. so the cult know theyre there. whoops. they fight the cult but just barely lose, and fhe manakete woman's kid is Slain. the fell dragon rises, not bc of the blood, but bc the fell dragons only daughter got So Pissed. turns out the fell dragon isnt actually that cruel, not in life anyway, but given how he was revived by anger snd not by true love he comes back Wrong and the cult descend on him and tear him apart and eat his flesh & use his bones as weapons. oh they dont worship him they want to use him to kill all shapeshifters and anyone who works against them forever. they can, however, use this pissed off manakete by casting a spell on her and having her fight her former friends. Huge fuckoff battle. It ends w the lesbian merc leader slaying the leader of the cult and, agonizingly, the friend she saved forever ago. the manakete returns to normal once the mortal blow is dealt, and thanks the mercenary leader for saving her once again, and begs her to remain a peaceful and kind leader for the rest of her life. she dies. the merc leader is Only Anguish. the world is saved at what cost?

epilogue : the merc leader rules until she dies, ensuring that the still-combined nations of the west, the newly managed empire of the east, and the reconstructed laguz kingdom to the south are all on good terms and recovering well from the war. manaketes establish their own nation after being given land from each nation where they meet to own for themselves. the leader of it is revealed to be the manakete bestie's other child she had borne RIGHT before the war began who she had only implied existed in her supports w her eldest child and a few others. merc leader leaves behind a vast and tumultuous legacy, but her child rises to keep her ideals alive and make sure nobody can accuse her of having no worth. she chose peace and love and thats what is important at the end of the day.

various paired endings. if the merc leader and manakete bestie got married (the canon route but w/e), the merc leader never remarried and vowed to see her wife in anime chess heaven. its very gay. end credits.

oh i forgot to mention. there is an avatar character who can marry anyone who likes that gender as every character now has a canon sexuality. the avatar character is the m/cs childhood friend who does nothing in the story but is Kind Of Cool. goodnight

1) Nero Claudius from Fate/Extra, Fate/Last Encore, Fate/Extella and Fate/Grand Order

The second I had first heard this woman say "umu” that was it for me. I knew I’d be obsessed with her for the rest of my days. She is adorable, she is loyal, she is THAT GIRL, a queen, an emperess, a goddess, and just seeing her instantly makes my brain pump out serotonin. Who even needs anti depressants when you can have Nero.

2) Vash the Stampede from Trigun Stampede

Babygirl. Princess. Loserboy. Golden Retriever Puppy. Beloved Wife. He’s adorable, pathetic, a wonderfully tragic yet optimistic character. He’s my beautiful little princess and I lay my life down before him.

3)Yoimiya from Genshin Impact

Her absolute happy go lucky attitude and sweet personality is like liquid gold shot straight into my arteries. I had fallen in love with this woman the very second I had laid eyes on her. Also she has been my main for two years at this point she’s genuinly just that fun to play.

4) Kaveh from Genshin Impact

The suffering artist trope CRANKED UP TO ELEVEN! Again like Vash this man is equally tragic as he is kindhearted and despite having been scammed out of his money multiple times he still cannot help but sacrifice his own well being if it would result in someone else’s happiness. Also before you ask: Yes, I do ship him and Alhaitham

5) Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza

What else can I say about Ichiban other than he’s almost stupidly optimistic and no matter how hard of a curveball life throws at him, he ALWAYS keeps the attitude of "once you hit rock bottom the only way is up.”, always trying to both see and bring out the best in people. Also he’s a massive Dragon Quest fan so obviously I’d end up obsessing over this beautiful specimen of a man who at the age of 42 still is not 100% sure where women pee from.

6) Erik from Dragon Quest XI

Honestly I could have EASILY put the entire main cast of Dragon Quest XI on this list because the characters of that game are simply that likeable and well written, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be your very first party member and the hero’s best friend and totally platonic roommate Erik. This man’s sassy attitude yet undying loyalty and devotion towards the hero is so strong not even the apocalypse itself could tear the hero and Erik apart for long.

7) Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5

Silver has literally been my favourite Sonic character since Childhood. His whole stick is that he’s unbeatable optimistic. Despite becoming from an apocalyptic future where everything is covered in flames, he never stops believing that things can become better if you try. His naivety however leads to characters like Mephilis abusing his optimism for their own agenda. But none of that stops Silver from

being one of my greatest comfort characters.

i got to see cinderella's castle on friday night! so i looked back at this post by @cindytoast404 and decided to fill out the bingo card! let's see if we get a bingo, shall we?

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!!!!!! DO NOT LOOK IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS FOR CINDERELLA'S CASTLE!

we DO have a bingo! hooray! (assuming the middle is the usual Free Space)

let's go through it square by square:

`1. the prince is absolutely the horniest person in the show. putrice gets sort of close, but she's really the only one in my opinion who does.

2. sir hop a lot does NOT die, but there is a point where he transforms back into a regular frog and putrice eats him. he later becomes a knight again once the magic is restored and escapes her stomach.

3. the prince is hot but he is just too stupid for ella to actually be attracted to. sorry! she needs a man who thinks about more than cunny all day!

4. no arson... unless you count the metaphorical "burning" of the ashmore family's legacy

5. the Narrator chided us a bit because when ella came on stage, we cheered for her, and he snapped and said "you don't even know anything about her yet!" so kind of? he also has help from ragweed (i believe that was the old man puppet's name), who comments on how the story progresses and argues that he doesn't like the results at one point. so there's a decent amount of acknowledging that a fairy tale is being told to an audience.

6. i would say rancilda is semi-redeemed because she defies her mother's wishes and wants to follow her own dreams that don't necessarily involving killing and eating people

7. ella does not kill a man, sadly :( but her loyal knight whoops some corrupt guards' asses!

8. as one would expect from a fairy tale, there is a lot of emphasis on wishes, desires, and happy endings. ella reflects on what she truly wants beyond revenge

9. sort of? the ball is the prince's way of choosing a bride. he clicks with rancilda at first (shared love of perverted jokes), then ella appears and steals his heart... then ella almost gets murdered by guards that the stepmother coerced into assassinating her and runs away, accidentally losing her magic in the process. so the prince does not end up with a bride that night and instead starts the search for the girl whose foot fits the glass slipper left behind.

10. if we assume sir hop-a-lot did not go off and chase her and kill her, then yes, rancilda does get to go live under a bridge and tell riddles for a living, just like she always dreamed. good for her!

11. the songs for the troll stepmother and sisters are BANGERS. they are evil, disgusting, and absolutely LOVING IT. hot troll girl summer is here, folks

12. the queen is pretty spooky and ethereal. her presence is far from "comforting fairy godmother" and more like "LET ME GIVE YOU THE POWER TO SMITE YOUR ENEMIES"

13. there is a skinning! two, actually! we meet two lovely girls that come to stay at the house and are set up to be ella's saviors... who are then promptly murdered by crossbow and then skinned to provide "outfits" for the troll stepsisters for the prince's ball (their whole picnic scene with ella gave huge "I love being alive!" vibes)

14. honestly, i can't recall any gay people. unless you count the Narrator, cuz he's a bit fruity, but he gives off big flamboyant fae vibes, which one could argue is just how fae are. you could sort of argue about the prince being a little gay with tadius (see the later square about homoeroticism), but no one seems to be explicitly referred to as homosexual. :(

15. everything is magic! ella's mother was burned for being a witch! the trolls use magic to stitch together their skin suits! the fairy queen of sweet dreams grants ella "starlight" to help her seek revenge. magic is what brings sir hop-a-lot and crumb to life as speaking creatures.

16. this one is debatable. the prince does not turn into a human (though if you want a humanized version of him, you can just look at jon's silly outfit while using the puppet lol). but he DOES sort of become a prince, because after the kingdom is saved, ella grants him a huge amount of land and tells him to sire many generations of tadpoles. so... close enough? he is not ella's prince, but he could be considered a prince now that he owns land, i guess?

17. again, the Narrator gets snippy when we cheer for ella without knowing who she is yet

18. almost! the evil stepmother threatens to begin a war with the trolls coming back to take over the kingdom once she steals the throne. thankfully, that doesn't come to pass

19. there sure is a castle. on a hill. as the story goes.

20. tadius quite literally has to wipe the prince's ass for him. and he also prepares "the wank couch" after the prince obtains ella's abandoned slipper.

21. ella ends up with tadius. he's the only man who can match her wits (and is human). though it would have been cute for sir hop-a-lot to become her human prince, i think that ella and tadius make a good couple. together, they have the smarts to properly rule the kingdom.

22. the prince does get murdered. tadius doesn't do it (though he really REALLY wants to), but instead, putrice gets a bit too rowdy after her wedding vows and rips the prince's head off. tadius runs away screaming in horror.

23. because putrice married the prince before she died (exploded by sir hop-a-lot when he became a knight again and busted out of her body) and the prince and king die/get killed (maybe the king smothered himself, who knows? tadius wasn't there), the crown goes to the next living ashmore... which is ella! yay!

24. ella does not get her own sword. sir hop-a-lot considered himself her sword since he is her protector and knight. but ella DOES get magical trappings made of pure starlight, so i honestly think that's a lot cooler.

aaaaaaaand that's that! feel free to argue with me if you've seen the show, too (or once you see the digital ticket version), cuz some of these are based more on opinion. i'd love to hear everyone's thoughts! just be kind and tag your spoilers! <3

my dad invited me and my brother to watch Firefly with him and it's actually really good??? (idk why I expected it not to be-- probably because the last time I tried one of his old Spaceship Shows (the one with the puppets) it was too sexist and too slow to get through.) First of all it should have been ILLEGAL for them to not have a single Chinese character in this show, but as a Chinese person I do like the aesthetics of the show and how they mashed up traditional Western and Chinese styles. The pronunciation is hilariously bad (IF ONLY THEY HAD A CHINESE ACTOR, HUH), but I like it because it's funny. (Me and my brother do laugh out loud every time.)

But the characters are actually so good?? First of all we got THREE FOUR (I didn't count right lmao) female main characters, no smurfette principal here! One of them doesn't even have any implied romance so far okay technically River doesn't but I was thinking of Kaylee and she has a crush on Simon lol. Kaylee, my favorite -- I LOVE how her appreciation of girly feminine stuff is portrayed as something that should NOT be mocked and does not negate her more "masculine" role as the mechanic and that she can nerd out WHILE being feminine. There's also how Mal, the main character, and Zoe, his first mate, have a longstanding and deep connection that's entirely platonic! Men and women CAN just be friends! Do note, Zoe (who is awesome btw) is married to another man, the pilot who is honestly so far the most boring character, and Mal is interested in Inara. Who, speaking of, I also love how so far Inara's profession as a (unionized it seems!) sex worker is treated with respect. River is the most ~okay~ in terms of sexist writing as a weak and mysterious and mentally unwell but sexy woman, but since she's not the only woman it doesn't feel like a big deal. (I feel like she's going to become more grounded, at least I hope so because I want to see more of her personality!) Misogynistic comments are challenged when made! Of course the writing isn't perfect but it's a LOT better than what I expected (and if a modern show didn't do the things I'm praising here I would be offended btw).

Also River's brother Simon is a complete dandy (I think it would be stereotyping for me to call him gay lmao), I love that for him. Episode one he bleeds from his mouth like a dying c-drama boy-- I just had a Vision of the resemblance and now I can't get it out of my head, all he needs to do his open his eyes super wide and then he'd be a dying c-drama boy. He cares for his sister so much, it's super sweet even though he REALLY sucks at dealing with psychosis(? would that be the term to describe her episodes?). Book is an instant icon of course, he's just there forcibly being the moral compass lol. Christianity in space smh. Despite being mr sexism I also love Jayne's character - he's funny (love a guy who's always trying to kill) and the question of his loyalty is intriguing. Mal is a kind of a Generic Protagonist Man but his backstory is solid enough that means his brooding attitude actually makes sense. The "Badger" side character is funny/interesting too, and my bro says he looks like Captian Sparklez haha. (Wash (Zoe's husband) is there. Sometimes he's funny.)

Going back to the design, I am partial to Victorian or whatever aesthetics, so I love how they threw that in along with the cowboy thing, and there's a lot of individual pieces merging Chinese aesthetics with that that I think do a great job. It speaks to my mixed heart <3. The costuming is actually so fun (mostly speaking to crowd scenes), so many characters get to wear distinctive outfits . Also kind of Killjoys vibes because they say "shiny" haha. I respect how space shots have no environment noise, only cowboy music lollll. Visual effects are interesting; you can always Tell but it does seem to me the best they could do at the time.

Wow this post turned out longer than I expected. So a recommendation for Firefly I guess! Forewarning, the parts with the "Reavers" are pretty dark/grotesque -- actually, there's significant violence throughout the show, the Reavers are just the worst.

S5 Advanced Placement. The only thing I really remember about this episode is the scene where Natalie is telling Jo and Blair's college friends about how someone tried to set Jo up with someone else's sister because people thought she was a guy. lmao

S5 The Way We Were. It's a recap ep but there are a few bits between the recaps and the last one is so domestic. Jo's lil smirk!! I love.

S6 Cruisin'. A couple of 🤔🤔 lines of dialogue for sure.

S6 The Rich Aren't Different. There's a nice little scene for relationship growth at the end. <3

S6 Edna Garrett On Campus. I think this is the ep where they share a book? I just remember it looking really cute.

S6 Jazzbeau. This is one of the eps where they're quietly background!married the entire time.

S6 With a Little Help from My Friends. Jo gets all protective in this one and makes Blair's business her business.

S6 The Interview Show. They really talked about each other in their interviews and never wanted each other to find out, and the self-sacrificial part about Blair bowling is sooo something.

S7 Out of the Fire. "A brand new Mr. Frog!" :')

S7 Ballroom Dance. Blair and Jo are lowkey kind of flirting at one point.

S7 Atlantic City. It's so unserious but all of their scenes are together and Blair gives Jo a really nice compliment.

S8 The Little Chill. Ignoring that their friendship has little to do with the plot, they have a couple of sweet moments.

S8 A Winter's Tale. Jo is so unfazed by men in this ep. lol

S8 Cupid's Revenge. Really cute final scene.

S9 Rumor Has It. Jo's reality check pep talk for Blair is why they're perfect for each other.

S9 Something In Common. Jo and Rick both in drag going to a "reverse costume party" that Blair wasn't invited to!!! They're bearding!

S9 Less Than Perfect. There are two scenes that make me lose my mind. Something about Jo appreciating Blair when Blair isn't around to hear it... And then the part where she's in the room with Blair in the dark. A weirdly intimate ep for them.

Penny Polendina (RWBY)

I love my quirky little robot girl. She's the absolute best, a brilliant fighter and very emotionally intelligent. She is such a cheerful ideal, someone who tries to see the best in people. She knows when they've gone too far and isn't afraid to stand up for what she wants! Which is the whole core of her little arc. Being a weapon given a soul and all. It is a beautiful story of a little girl who cares so much and wishes to be able to just... be that cheerful little girl without the weight of the world. Its just so sweet.

2. Kafka (Star Rail)

In all honesty she's the reason I'm even playing Star Rail. She is such a mysterious character, with a voice to die for. Yes, Hoyoverse characters tend to be rather shallow (that's a gacha game for ya), but Kafka just hits everything I love in a character. Her character short when she was fully released is... *chef's kiss* just amazing. I will admit, every time she does her ult in game I join her in saying "Boom." ^_^;

3. Lyse (FFXIV)

Shocker, the leading lady of Stormblood is still my favorite? Honestly, all three of the ladies from Stormblood are the trifecta of favorites. (Lyse, Fordola and Yotsuyu) The various storylines that cause them to interact is such a delight. I wasn't too bothered by the whole "Yda was my sister" thing, cause well, Yda was barely in the game post ARR... And like, it was always Yda and Papalymo. Never just one or the other. So when Lyse got the chance to shine and actually take center stage, I was smitten. She's tough, gentle, sassy, collected, brilliant, a bit silly, and more. Such a well written character. I'm still upset she left the scions tbh. Could've added a little hair color diversity by a little bit. :P

4. Gideon Nav (The Locked Tomb)

Ok, seriously, this series grabbed me by the throat and would not let me go. Gideon is such a lovely first viewpoint (and I adore all the viewpoint characters). She takes no shit, talks a lotta shit, and can fight a whole heck more shit. The way she interacts with Harrow at first, then the other Necromancers and their Cavaliers is such a delight. Sure you hate Harrowhark so much Gideon, why are you obeying her command to not speak a single word to literally anyone else, hmmmmmmmmmmm?????? Also the gay panic that Gideon seems to have on the regular is just. Great. I don't want to speak too much more on Gideon, cause this series is just great and you should read it.

5. Raiden Ei (Genshin Impact)

Last time it was Eula, now it is Raiden Ei. It is always a toss up between them, if I'm being honest. Ei is just... such a sad puppy? XD Its the best way to describe her. So trapped in her own past and trying to do what would best preserve her sister's memory... She's just SAD guys. Yeah, she may not be the best governing force for her nation, and she indirectly killed a lotta people with her retreating away and leaving a puppet behind, but we the Traveler showed up and fixed things! Also she gets two amazing boss fights, I honestly wish I could do the story one again but I ain't working through Mondstat and Liyue again. >.>;

6. Karlach (Baldur's Gate 3)

KARLACH IS THE BEST AND SHE IS SO SWEET AND LOVELY AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO BACK TO HELL OR DIE OR [redacted]. She is such a lovely goofball that even shows platonic love if you don't romance her and I really think that is great! Her arc tying into Gortash was delightful, bringing her much more into the story instead of just a bystander like a couple of them. (Like out of all the origin companions Astarion barely has any connection to any of the major players in the story, he's pretty self contained tbh.) Her sweetness, the way she says she's gonna eat dirt if you leave her camp, and her cheerful demeanor are just.... Amazing. I'm really running out of words for Karlach cause she is my favorite. I'm gonna have to start BG3 up again and actually play my romance run of her soon.

7. The Doctor (Doctor Who)

Ok, a bit of a cop out since, you know, they are the star of the show. BUT COME ON. The Doctor in their various iterations have been so enjoyable. My personal favorite is Tennet's 10, but Capaldi's 12 is a strong second. Its just a good show to binge at times. There are a lottta good episodes, a few really bad ones, but overall its a good time. The scene at the end of the special where they rescue Gallifrey is still one of my favorite scenes in the whole franchise. And hell, the Archeologist is based (loosely) on them, so how can I not include them?

8. Xion (Kingdom Hearts)

Have I mentioned I love tragic characters? Xion is literally the definition of tragedy, with all the problems with her just existing lol. Her presence in 358/2 Days really made the game for me. Roxas was kinda bland and having someone that was similar in age (like Sora, Riku and Kairi were) to interact with made it all that much better. AND SHE GETS THE HAPPY ENDING. Eventually. Boy is it a long road, but that's Kingdom Hearts for ya.

8. Lucina (Fire Emblem)

I really wanna pick someone else in all honesty, but Fire Emblem has a worse problem than Hoyoverse games in their bit characters. :/ Lucina is a strong character that really delighted me when I played Awakening. She's such a surprise that it really helps make that Fire Emblem my favorite. She's got a good supporting cast too, with Robin and her dad Chrom, but Awakening was really her game. Chrom was kinda there just to be her dad lol

9. Trevor Belmont (Castlevania)

Full disclosure, I have not played his game, in fact the only two castlevania's I have played both feature non Belmont's as the lead players (Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclasia). But the way Trevor is in the show, OH BOY. He is rough, he is blunt, he is smart, he is SOOOO dumb, he is loyal, he is a fighter, he never gives up, HE IS JUST GREAT. He's also one of my biggest Bi panics when he shows how much of a badass he is in episode, I think, 4 or 5 or later? Its been a hot minute since I watched that series. When he first uses the flail weapon that I forget the name of.

10. Aigis (Persona)

Aigis is a super cutie and I love her interactions with the female protagonist. I really wish P3 wasn't such a long game and Aigis actually showed up a little earlier. She's just a doll! I do need to try and find a copy (or emulate) FES to play the storyline with her as the lead singer. Its just so rough to get thru P3 I just lose motivation. T.T I've made it to the vacation part with the female lead, like, three times and no further cause my motivation tanks. WHICH IS WEIRD CAUSE THAT'S WHEN YOU MEET AIGIS. Its just too long for me I guess. XD

to understand valkyrie's dynamic in the most basic way possible, shu is an incredibly talented artist who might seem extremely standoffish and cold while also being very short tempered (especially during the earlier stories) but he is very tender to those who cares about. throughout his entire arc though he learns how to express those feelings better so its really sweet to see ^-^ he really loves antique dolls and admires any type of art form really. and hes a very big croissant enjoyer. currently in the story hes studying in france. and i dont care if its only like a silly gag in the game but you have to take shu having DID out of my cold dead hands. he sometimes speaks through the doll his grandfather gave him, mademoiselle.

and mika is, for a lack of a better word his biggest fan(tm). type of guy that would defend anything shu does on twitter lmao. but before getting into their relationship!! i need to gush about my silly first. mika is an orphan who ends up at yumenosaki because he remembers meeting shu when they were both kids and seeing shu perform once. and was like. "hey. i want to be next to him" and somehow??? got in???? but anyway. hes a very sweet guy but might sometimes come off as a bit of an airhead. doesnt help w the fact that he keeps saying hes dumb while that not being the case at all. he really likes plushies :3 he frequently picks up abandoned plushies and clothes from the trash to fix them up and everything. he also has a bit of a sweet tooth lol. but he prefers cheaper candy or sweets that are a little flawed like a cake thats slightly burnt and whatnot because he says that the nice ones make him sick.

oh wow this is already so long im SORRY but getting into them together, their entire arc is them growing and learning and trying to become the best versions of themselves as partners.

during ! era, the earlier batch of stories, when mika first joins valkyrie his relationship with shu is really not healthy at all. people still call them a proship sometimes because they will just ignore any development they had 💀 this was the time that mika was incredibly devoted to shu and very dependent on him. that his only purpose was to be shu's doll for him to control and lead him because he couldnt be trusted with himself or whatever. this being paired with shu's perfectionism resulted in this dynamic of a puppeteer and his puppet, basically. i will probably get to the war in another ask if you want me to bc. i feel like im rambling on too much nfmfnf <.< but after the events of the war their dynamic starts changing with time, in the later ! stories a few of them shows this switch to emphasizing mika needing to become his own person, and to live as a human instead of mindlessly following what shu says him to do. when we get to the !! era how much they've both grown is way more visible, by now shu has moved to france but visits japan frequently for valkyrie's activities or other things. shu cannot shut up about being partners in art with mika and is really proud of how far he has come. mika on the other hand, he really starts pushing for his own artistic taste more and also!! he calls shu out on his bullshit sometimes its really fun to read.

and if you want more tragic yaoi, id recommend listening to acanthe first and the lyrics then going onto le temps des fleurs, both have insane stories in the game accompanying the songs but i will . stop myself for now. all i will say is that the outfits in le temps des fleurs, half of it is supposed to be the groom while the other is the bride, so yeah theyre married to me now.

After Beej is pushed off the roof a little puff of smoke is blown onto the stage like a cartoon

When Beej crawls out of the table when Lydia calls him there's this god awful squelching sound

After That Beautiful Sound, when BJ is explaining his plan to his clones, one of the women is stood there wiggling her fingers and popping her hips out and she's so cute!!

I never really cared about Otho but the man who played is a whole ass Shane Madej caricature and I kind of love him now

We unfortunately do not get red Beetlejuice, but for a split second the lights give him a similar effect and while it's not the same, I will take it. It's better than nothing I suppose

To fill in the awkward silence after the "we both have dead moms" joke, BJ fucking bounces on Juno's severed leg like a pogo stick????? It literally sucked the air out of my body and I had to force myself to breath so I didn't start wheezing and disrupting the whole auditorium

We got confetti'd after the curtain call and I grabbed 3 handfuls :) That's not really a note on the show, I just felt like sharing

Ok on to my feelings about the cast:

Justin:

Listen, no one can ever top Alex, but I'll be damned if Justin isn't a close second.

Just constantly screaming and doing his little dancy dance, even if it's during normal dialogue that does not call for screaming or dancy dancing.

Not much in the feral behavior department, but he sticks his tongue out so. much. A lot of sarcastic gasping too like sir close your mouth before bugs start crawling inside

He takes his sweet time finishing dialogue. There were several times where there would be a good 30 seconds of dead air, and every time the laughter died down it would start up and fill the silence again. I don't know what spell he cast to make the audience do that but it was a good one.

I'll be honest I wasn't so sure about him when the casting was announced but god damn it he just has so much charisma I want to get on all fours and bark for him

Im not taking that back btw you're gonna have to live with me saying that

Isabella:

My favorite Lydia hands down.

Her Lydia has so much attitude she's almost a bit of a bully. There's so much sarcasm and angst and anger in her delivery. She plays the moody teenage girl character well.

Not really an acting not but Isabella has such big, expressive eyes. Granted, I had pretty close seats, but you can still see her eye rolls and quirked eyebrows from the stage it's amazing.

Overall she's a fantastic Lydia and again, my absolute favorite. No shade to Sophie, but I feel like her Lydia was... a bit whiny and immature. Isabella is truly grieving her mother and you can see how much of a toll all these changes are having on her. I absolutely love the edge and the bite she brings to Lydia.

Britney and Will:

These two.

These two are out of fucking control for real.

Take the goof factor from the original Maitlands and crank that shit up to 11.

Gonna have to agree with Beetlejuice though, Will's Adam is quite sexy...

"Adam... You're boring. But! You're sexy. You should own that." *cue Will doing a full body roll*

I dont know if it's his height or voice or line delivery but he just seems a lot less... idk pathetic? than the original Adam. It's a nice change of pace. I always wished they did more to develop his character.

Britney brings a lot of spunk to Barbara. Like Barbara has always been the slightly more adventurous one in the relationship but Britney really makes her shine.

OG Barbara is a bit more subdued but Britney's body language is so big? I guess is the right word? So many big gestures and so much movement. Im always a big fan of when actors use their whole bodies to deliver their lines instead of just standing pin straight and talking.

Kate:

I've noticed a lot of people don't really like her Delia and while she isn't my number one favorite either, I still think she does a good job

OG Delia, I feel, is out of touch with the times and trying to be "hip" while still being old school. Kate's Delia is very much aware of "kids these days" and is an obnoxious try hard. I kind of like her take on the character in that sense.

Delia has absolutely no concept of personal space. She stands wayyyy to close to Lydia and whenever Lydia gets fed up, she gets in Delia's face to give her a taste of her own medicine. I LOVE the dynamic between them.

Also Kate's Delia is lowkey kind of bullied by Lydia? Like Lydia is actually pretty mean to her. Again, I love how Kate and Isabella interact with each other. There's a lot more turmoil and strain between these two that I feel was lacking in the original production (at least from what I've seen in the bootlegs I've watched).

Jesse:

Not as imposing or strict as OG Charles, but I like it. I don't prefer it, but I like it.

I feel like Jesse's Charles wears his heart on his sleeve? You can really hear how tired and lost and confused he is when he's struggling to communicate with Lydia.

I never cried while watching bootlegs but damn it, their performance of Home almost made me cry...

Chapter 3: Dinner with a new friend

Willow followed Wally back inside to watch him and his friends record the newest episode after Eric had to concede to Wally's 'Offer'. The others were surprised Wally asked for this, but they welcomed the change nonetheless. They loved entertaining kids, and this would be like early critique before the show even aired. Willow had a lot of fun too. She was really shy and very quiet, but she loved getting to know the cast. They each noticed something a bit odd, however. Like something didn't sit right. She was sweet and kind, sure, but the level of shyness she exhibited felt less like her being shy and more like her being afraid of them. It was odd to say the least, but when the rest of the cast asked her why she was scared or told her she didn't need to be scared, she'd turn away and deny it. Not Wally, though. He never asked anything like that. Unless she spoke to him, he observed the interactions Willow had with his friends quietly, making mental notes on her behavior so he could see if something was wrong at home with her.

The day went by a bit too quickly for everyone's liking. Before anyone knew it, shooting was over and the cast started heading home. Willow gave everyone a respectful farewell before going with Wally to get dropped off. On the way, they spoke to each other.

"So?" Wally started, making Willow look at him from the seat next to him "What did we learn about the cast today?"

"Uuhhhhh…" Willow started thinking "...Well, Franky isn't nearly as grumpy as we see on TV. He's easy to tick off, but he's overall really nice. Eddie is Franky's boyfriend, which I didn't realize either of them were gay. Julie does a little flap thing when she's excited, Poppy loves humming to help her stay calm, Barnaby is definitely not acting when he plays the funny guy, Howdy is vegan…What's vegan again?"

"It means you don't eat any meat or animal products" Wally clarified

"Right. A-Anyway, Sally is a lot sweeter than on camera, almost like a cool big sister" Willow continued "...And you have a really short temper with the production crew. I noticed how they treated your friends, but…" She stopped there

It was true, she saw how badly the puppets were treated in the studio. To say it was bad would be an understatement, to say the least. She saw Howdy get pushed off the stage, only being there because he was confused about his movement and tone for his personal recording as he was the least experienced in this field with Poppy being only slightly better due to her anxiety. Wally really lost his temper and started shouting at everyone. The only reason he stopped was because Willow had run off the stage. When Wally found her again, Howdy and Sally were trying to bring her out of a massive panic attack.

“...I take it your parents shout a lot?” Wally asked gently, Willow being pulled out of the memory and back to the real world

“Y-Yeah…They do…” She said, a bit startled from being pulled back into the conversation

“How often does it happen?”

“Every day…Sometimes it lasts all day and momma sends me out of the house so I don’t have to listen” Willow explained, rubbing her arm

Wally stopped at a red light and looked over at her, his expression immediately turning to one of worry when he saw the slightly raised sleeve…and what was underneath it. There was a large, hand shaped bruise  on her wrist, barely covered up by bandages. Wally could guess where it came from, but he needed to get all the facts first.

“…Willow. Look at me, please” Wally spoke gently as the little puppet looked up at her favorite star “I only get angry like that when someone mistreats my friends, and I only do that inside the studio because the people there are racist and…honestly a bunch of idiotic jerks. Your parents fighting like that is a sign that that house may not be safe for you…”

“I already know that…” Willow said as she looked down at her lap “…But my daddy made it clear that I’ll have nowhere else to go. He said I’ll die on the streets if I run away because he won’t come looking for me…So I gotta stay where I am…” Willow looked ready to cry when she finished her explanation

Wally looked ready to snap again as the light turned green. He went off course, driving away from the house as he took a breath and gently rubbed Willow’s back to soothe her. He soon pulled into a parking lot and stopped the car, making Willow look up curiously as she wiped her teary eyes. They weren’t at her house, but rather at a large restaurant painted orange and red with gray tiles for the roof. There was a large neon sign in the shape of a circle with little circles on the inside and a triangle missing from it.

“Um…Mister Darling?” Willow spoke up “Where are we? I thought I was just going home”

“Well, I saw that you hadn’t eaten anything at the studio, so I thought you might want something to have before you go home” Wally explained, though the real reason was that he thought this could keep her out of the house, and away from her toxic father, a while longer

“Bobolli’s…Pissa?” She read the sign and tilted her head “What’s that?”

“…Have you never had pizza before?” Wally asked, a little horrified as Willow shook her head “What do your parents let you eat?”

“Daddy makes me eat cold bread and milk for breakfast. Momma tries to give me granola bars and water sometimes, but she usually gets caught” Willow explained timidly

Wally had to take a few deep breaths to calm down before he got out of the car. He went around and got Willow out before taking her inside. The interior had a very rustic feeling with dark wood floors, marble counters, orange lights, black leather seats, and dark red tiles all over the walls. Many folks, both human and puppet, worked behind the counters to make pizza, but only one came out to greet Wally. This puppet was rather large in size, a human puppet roughly three fourths of Barnaby’s height. He had red hair on his head, pale orange felt skin, and a big bushy mustache. His body was rather rotund in size and he wore a typical Italian chef’s outfit. His green eyes sparkled warmly when he went over to Wally, a smile beaming underneath that mustache.

“Well, if it isn’t Wally, my best customer!” He spoke, a boisterous and deep voice speaking with a heavy Italian accent as he shook Wally’s hand

“Hey there, Ronny!” Wally greeted the chef fondly before letting go and turning to Willow “Willow, this is Ronald Babolli. He’s the owner of this restaurant. It’s honestly the best place I know of”

“Oh, I don’t think I’ve seen this one before” Ronny said as he kneeled down to take a look at Willow, though she quickly hid behind Wally “Where did you find her, Wally?”

“She’s the daughter of the studio tailors” Wally explained calmly “I’m letting her come by the studio more often if she wants. She didn’t eat anything there, so I thought I’d treat this kid to dinner”

“Well, you brought her to the right place. Please have a seat. I’ll bring a surprise” Ronny smiled and ran behind the counter

Wally chuckled and took Willow to a nice, quiet booth in the back of the restaurant. Willow sat across from Wally as she looked around at everything warily. She had clearly never been to this area of the city before. It was kinda overwhelming for her, and Wally could clearly see that in her expression.

“So…What’s it like in the suburbs?” Wally asked, trying to relieve some of this little girl’s tension as one of the workers brought some drinks. Wally got a Diet Dr. Pepper and Willow got a Sprite

“Well…It’s usually really quiet” Willow answered “Other than my momma and daddy fighting. The people there are nice enough. Miss Fritters is my favorite. She’s this old human who lives down the street with her family. Her family is really nice, but Miss Fritters tells me stories and sometimes bakes cookies. She taught me how to make some of her recipes. Sometimes I can play with her grandkids, Billy and Bobbie, but they don’t think I’m very cool”

“Kids can be like that sometimes” Wally shrugged as he sipped on his soda “I had a friend like that. Frank was actually like that before I got him to open up”

“So he used to be as grumpy as he acts on the show?”

“Yeah. Honestly, though, if you know him for long enough, you learn quickly that he’s a sweetheart. The reason you saw it today was because he has a real soft spot for kids” Wally explained as Willow sipped her drink, a smile coming to his face when he saw her eyes light up.

“…Is this your favorite place?” Willow asked

“It’s my favorite place to eat, yes. Sometimes the cast and I come here for some good old fashioned friend time” Wally answered fondly

“…You’re really easy to talk to”

“Huh?” Wally perked up at the quiet words Willow spoke “I-I’m sorry, could you say that again?”

“Y…You’re really easy to talk to, mister darling. It’s like I’ve known you my whole life even though we met today…You’re really nice” She explained with a blush

Before Wally could answer, Ronny brought over a large pizza on a tray. It was covered with cheese and pepperoni with a big, stuffed crust that was only visible because Ronny had cut it up into some nice triangles. Willow looked really surprised as she gazed at the good smelling pie in front of her, making Wally chuckle a bit as they each got a plate.

“Looks as delicious as ever, Ronny” Wally said with a smile directed at the chef

“Yes, one of my finest pizzas” Ronny said with a smile as he turned to get back to work “Let me know if you need anything”

“Thanks, Ronny!” Wally beamed at Ronny as the chef left before grabbing a couple of slices, one for him and one for Willow “There you go, kid”

“…Y…You’re letting me have this?” She asked, immediately tensing up

“Of course. Why wouldn't I?” Wally asked before taking a bite of his pizza slice

“Well…Daddy says that if I eat three meals, I’ll be fat and useless”

“Well, daddy’s not here right now. You don’t have to eat all of the slice I gave you. Just one bite. If you decide you want more, I won’t stop you, okay?” Wally said as he gave Willow a smile

Willow was, understandably, hesitant. She’d never even seen something like this before. She was nervous. She poked at the slice a bit before picking it up. She inspected it from top to bottom, which made Wally giggle on the outside, though he could feel his heart break. How sheltered was this kid? How long had Eric and, clearly begrudgingly, Jessica, been keeping this poor little girl locked away and slaving over a sewing machine? It hurt to see such a sweet little girl look so scared over a simple food item…Willow soon took her first bite, and the way her eyes seemed to gain a new spark of life in them warmed Wally’s heart. The little puppet dove in, quickly gobbling up a slice and, after confirming that she could take more, ate more of the delicious pizza. By the time both of them were full, the entire pizza was gone.

Willow looked really sleepy, her eyes fluttering as she tried to stay awake with very little success. Wally chuckled and paid Ronny for the food before carrying her back to the car. She was completely limp as she was carried and placed into her seat. She jolted awake, at least awake to the point of being aware, when Wally’s car started. He pulled out of the parking lot and put on a classical CD that Frank let him borrow. When he stopped at a red light and Noticed Willow was half awake, he smiled and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

“You can go ahead and get some sleep” He said quietly, his voice soothing to the little puppet’s ears “I’ll wake you up when we get to your house, okay?”

Willow gave him a nod and closed her eyes, drifting off pretty quickly. Wally sighed and turned his eyes back to the road. She was so precious. This little girl didn’t deserve to live in such circumstances. She didn’t deserve to be treated as a slave. Not only was it illegal, but it was  just morally wrong. This kid deserved to be free to play and grow like a real sapling. It pissed Wally off that Eric was keeping her from growing. He had to do something.

 After a while, the car stopped at the right address, and it made Wally uncomfortable. The house was stable, but it was greasy and clearly falling apart. There was a cracked window in the front that allowed him to see inside. Greasy walls, flickering lights, old furniture that was falling apart, loose wooden floorboards. That house was unsafe for more than one reason, but Wally took a breath and kept his composure. He woke Willow up and carried her to the door, giving it a gentle knock. Her mother, thankfully, came to answer the door. Jessica took Willow in her arms and thanked Wally for taking care of her. He simply smiled and passed her a note before leaving, giving Willow one last wave goodbye before he drove off

Jessica put Willow to bed, happy when she explained what he did for her. When Willow was fast asleep, Jessica unfolded the note and read it, smiling as she did.
