there's a theory that buck is going to take a bullet for eddie because of the white shirt and eddie's medic skills brought up all season. i think it would make sense because buck had to watch eddie shot in front of him before and he was traumatized and so angry at himself for being helpless so it makes sense this is how he would react. when he said maybe it would have been better if he was the one who was shot that could be foreshadowing in a way.

I could see that happening. The shooting is the last thing the show needs to recreate this season of BUDDIE’s big disasters. I would love to see Eddie’s reaction this time to Buck getting hurt.

mass shootings every day. funding being cut. school lunches— which were already the bare minimum in terms of nutrition— being removed. those alone would give anyone trauma, but even without those things the power structures inside of the average public school are designed to wring the individuality out of a child. (and that’s not even mentioning the way that neurodivergent kids are left out to dry by the school system, or how any marginalized kid can be tortured by their peers with no repercussions!) it’s designed to be miserable, and yet somehow people are surprised that kids don’t want to be there.

sandy hook happened in 2012, and nothing changed. uvalde ten years later, and still nothing. kids were forced back into overcrowded, unsanitary classrooms while covid was still killing thousands every day— most after having missed critical social development during lockdown, which there was no support for recovering from. children are being forced to see politicians debate the “ethics” of feeding them, letting them express their gender identity, allowing them to access accurate information about history as if their futures are just hypothetical. along with that is the social media boom, where marginalized people can create communities like never before, and those same kids are realizing that the systems they’ve been shoved into are broken. they’re being showed how awful the situation really is, and still completely powerless to change anything.

can you imagine having to go through all that and still pass your standardized fucking tests? my god, it’s a wonder that schools aren’t completely empty by now. we’re getting there though— i can’t count how many stories i’ve heard of kids dealing with truancy charges because of how many days of school they’ve “skipped” due to extreme anxiety or burnout. i’m one of them! i barely graduated in 2018, and the conditions were leagues better then!

people bitch about the “decline in intelligence” between generations, as if it’s the kids fault for the state of the world, as if this isn’t the inevitable conclusion for the public school system in this country. it feels deliberately ignorant— have you not watched the news recently? does it not evoke any empathy, does it not fill you with rage? how in the world could you pin the blame on kids here?

People seemed to like my last Upside-Down Magic post so I’m back at it!

Today I also experimented with lineless art. I’ve never done something like this before so I’m really proud of it!

For those who don’t know, this character’s name is Bax. He’s a Fluxer (a shapeshifter) who can only turn into inanimate objects. The thing is, he’s Fluxers are only supposed to turn into animals, and he can’t turn back by himself. This is what makes him upside-down!

Bax is my favorite character so I draw him a LOT 😂 he’s just so… AAHEHDUXH

I think the coma theory fits most and like you said they hinted all Buddie ndes except the shooting so maybe Eddie gets shot and flashes back to the first shooting and the memory of Buck that he denied before

That’s a good theory as well. I know Tim is gonna take one of our ideas and bring it to life.

I’m sorry for these belated Frankie Friday greetings. I’m finally on vacation, one day earlier than scheduled for a shitty reason but let’s not linger on that. I’ll be out of office for the next three weeks, trying to disconnect, rest and finish chapter 5 of tybtm, but I’ll probably pass by on occasions. Everyone is welcome to hang out in the Orange bedroom in the meantime. Anytime, really. There’s Corona in the fridge and snacks just below 👇🏻 (omg I’m so funnnyyyyyyy)

Thanksgiving at the Waynes:

Dick- has come home for the holidays, has brought every single piece of clothing he owns for Alfred to wash, is the person in the family that makes everyone go around and say what they’re thankful for,decides halfway through the meal to stand on the table, tries to start a sing along, ends the night swinging from the chandelier for “old times sakes”

Jason- Refuses to come until Alfred plays the “I need help in the kitchen” card, yells at Dick for trying to steal food while he’s cooking it, “I need a whiskey to get through this dinner,” was told to leave his weapons at the door and takes twenty minutes to de-armor, he still has two guns on his person even after that, sneaks off after the meal to read in the library, somehow ends up surrounded by the entire family, stress bakes the night before and provides enough desserts to feed a family of ten

Tim- is “not working” but ends up taking three different business calls throughout the day, nurses a glass of wine all day long and leaves with only half of it drunk, somehow ends up sitting next to Damian and gets all of his silverware confiscated except for his spoon by the time they get to the main course, “TIM HOW MANY COFFEES HAVE YOU HAD TODAY?,” uses eggnog as creamer, somehow they end up playing poker and he absolutely smokes them

Damian- spends the entire day with some kind of animal perched on his shoulder (first Alfred the cat and then a bird: nobody knows where the bird came from), is thankful for his swords (they’re all secretly named after his brothers, he’ll die before he admits that), tries multiple times to sneak different kinds of alcohol, fails.

Bruce- Starts the day with at least one of his children jumping on his bed, tries to sneak out at least twice to patrol before Alfred stops him, has at least two bruised ribs, falls asleep on the couch after dinner, is forced to sit at the head of the table and nods off twice during dinner

Cassandra- unabashedly watches the thanksgiving day parade, is the only one that ends up patrolling after dinner, the only successful one that can steal food, smokes everyone but Tim in all their card games, helps Damian sneak alcohol without getting caught
