DRDTtober day 15: Magical Girls! ft. Ruby Rebel and Star Sapphire, the two worst magical girls(?) of all time!

AU notes/ideas under the cut!

MonoTV is their magic mascot animal (it isn't evil or anything tho! this isn't a Madoka Magica AU!)

There's definately some Miraculous Ladybug lovesquare shenanigans but I think they'd get it sorted out pretty quickly...

This is very much a silly magical girl AU where they just fight dumb "monsters-of-the-week" and nothing really consequential happens!

This AU was created because I realized that these two would be the worst possible people to give magic powers and public platforms with no consequences and unconnected to their real lives.

Xander is going out and vandalizing corporate buildings bc he can't be arrested. David swears so much that all of his talking has to be censored whenever a fight of theirs airs on TV.

They both spend about as much time misusing their powers, doing often-times illegal things, and getting chased by cops and/or reporters as they do fighting monsters. MonoTV is about to die of an aneurysm.

There might be other magical girls/boys in this AU but idk who - probably Teruko though for sure! she doesn't even fight she just stands there and lets her luck take enemies out…

Totally fine to have NOTP’s and block people for any reason you want.

However; Given Dev recently confronting the community yesterday about arguments and toxicity.

Could we maybe stop going against their wishes and fighting over their characters?

Dev wants a peaceful community with no fighting. I like to believe that they mean about anything and not just drama blogs.

It’s much better to just block and mute what you’re uncomfortable with and don’t like seeing. It’s not anyone’s business to know your block list.

Or to see your dirty laundry aired publicly.

Basically if you wanna make those posts, could we not use main tags to do it so as not to disrespect Dev?

Ideally it’d be good not to have those posts but judging by how long I’ve been around, I unfortunately can tell that not everyone is capable of not whining even if it means being disrespectful about a media that isn’t theirs. 💅🏻

managed to finally catch Levi's VA's stream after missing the last few and was immediately possessed to draw this

so this character is not actually named yet, if you have any ideas i’d appreciate it

in fact we don’t actually have too much about her decided yet, other than the fact that she’s a very calm person even in the face of the killing game

I really really like the “blind prophet” vibe of this character! I think for names, the first that pop into my head are “Cassandra” or “Sibyl”, but those might be a little too on-the-nose? If you want a name with a specific meaning I usually go to behindthename.com (also works for surnames!) Also, if you have a specific ethnicity in mind for her you could look into names (and/or myths?) specific to that? I hope this helps!

his name is a combination of two iconic survival horror protagonists, points of you can guess which ones

they hates the wording of their talent, specifically the word “hunter”

ohhh they’re super cool!! love the design and talent! (I am now verrry curious about the possible existence of real cryptids in this universe just based on their profile…)

while he has released cartoons in newspapers before, his major success came from a webcomic called “tuesday’s sledgehammer” that’s gotten a very successful tv adaptation

HEAVILY reliant on caffeine to get through the day due to having to skip sleep to meet deadlines
