one of the things that fascinate me about thawne: yes, he CAN be normal with kids! surprisingly normal!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
((not at all times, though. his mental illness still spills through and as usual he, in trying to manipulate or hurt others, spits out at them the exact stuff that would hurt him (or have in his childhood/barry's rejection interpretation) the most in the first place lmao))
Tumblr media
but at the same time. his like second instinct when doing his bullshit is FUCK THEM (as) KIDS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(and, well. whatever this classifies as)
Tumblr media
#whats wrong with him. seriously. he loves picking fights with literal children So Much#AND NONE OF THEM WITH WALLY ON THE MATTER OF BEING THE BIGGEST FLASH FAN. HOW DID THAT NEVER HAPPEN#about the middle page. honestly i DIDNT remember he is a Jerk in that way too until i checked his interactions with bart for this post#this man officially should not be allowed near children as a mentor.#just straight up drops ALL his insecurities on a poor kid in trying to make him feel ashamed. NO breaking the abuse cycle for this bad boy#the only thing he doesnt say is the direct 'you are a disappointment' altho the message is still the same 💀💀💀💀💀💀#AND I BET HES HELLA PROUD OF THAT. I MEAN CONSIDERING THIS FACT IG HE DOES TRY TO BE BETTER THAN HIS PARENTS. SOMEWHAT.#and omg he formulates his point like in problem based learning (leading the child to making the correct conclusion themselves)#im dying. professor to the fucking core.#and the way he feels the need to bring up flash facts in his appeal?? EO YOURE SO HOPELESS. THIS IS 100% HOW BART SAW HIM THROUGH#and god knows what he told thad promising to get him out of the speed force if he fought barry there and whether he was going to fulfill it#and do you even IMAGINE how FUCKED barry's mental condition would be growing up if thawne fulfilled his button threat#and i really REALLY wonder about the tornado twins and their relationship with 'uncle eobard' but that will be a separate post#he doesnt know any other way tho. and he might be actually mad at bart for not supporting his every action as The Flash#like. he tries to play family but the second they question he just goes WHATEVER. I DONT NEED IT. FLASH OF MY VISION RUNS ALONE#his problem is that he just wants attention. he doesnt see family/heroing for what 'its really about' or downsides that may come with them#everything is so idealized in his head. and the moment he faces reality with its complications the concept immediately gets antagonized.#and then he reconsiders and changes the conditions but fails each time never realizing the problem is his mindset and not everything else#black white at its finest yall#and man. RELATABLE.#also WHY is he standing LIKE A STATUE when appearing in front of bart????😭😭😭😭#poor museum rat has no idea what heroes in real life stand like#eobard thawne#professor zoom#reverse flash#the reverse flash#bart allen#the flash#dc

I too would love a Haymitch POV, but you know what POV I'd love to see in sunrise? Haymitch's mentor.
Allegedly, at least according to the Capitol, there's no previous victor of district 12, so I'm assuming the mentor must be Capitol-assigned. However, other districts like 1 and 2 will have had countless of winners after 49 games, in fact I'm guessing most districts will have victors as mentors. But not district twelve, not yet.
I wonder how it would feel, as a Capitol citizen, to be so excited to be assigned a mentor position, to dress up all flashy for it and to then sit in a room filled with anxious, deeply traumatized people watching what you consider the Eurovision of your youth as they quietly despise every second of it and watch in horror as you laugh and clap. It must be so strange, so isolating and uncanny, so unlike everything you've ever known to hear these victors' snide comments towards the gamemakers, their ungratefulness for what they've gotten from their own victories and their unfiltered hatred that hides behind the famous, glorious personas you know them as. Every second in the training center with your two tributes, in the moments shared with your fellow mentors as they gear up to talk to sponsors as if they're readying for battle, it all leaves small cracks in the worldview you've gotten so comfortable with for all your life.
Yeah, I truly wonder how that mentor must feel.

something i really miss about living at home is the number of adult-adults, especially women older than me, that i had around me. i had a couple of high school teachers i really love and trust, i had my pastor and his wife, i had my boyfriend's parents, i had his aunt, i had my parents, obviously. while i know any of them would happily answer a call or a text, it isn't the same as having them around, and i don't have them here -- which is partially an i'm-at-college problem and partially an i-moved-1000-miles-away problem. i miss having adults around me that i can go to for advice or support.
i've got a really good and godly group of girls around me here, and i always have my friends and my boyfriend at home, but i don't have adults, especially at church -- the church i go to is really small, and i've been struggling to feel like part of it without joining another college group. (i'm sure their college group is great, but i'm already in an on-campus one that's twice a week, and i can't handle any more nights out at bible study). i want to join a women's bible study with all ages, but i don't think my church here has one, and i don't really know where else to look.
i'm 20 -- i'm an adult, and a lot of the time i do feel like one. but i don't have everything figured out -- no one does. community is a really important thing for christians, and i think it's especially important to have people older and wiser than you around you so that you can go to them for advice, and i don't have that.
and so we pray!

A journey of patience in personal growth and business
If you want to grow a flower you need to plant the seed, be patient and take care of it.
If you plant the seed and give up the next day because the flower has not grown yet, you lose the chance to have that flower you wish for, but if you shower it with love and take care of it the flower will bloom and you could have the most beautiful flower in the world.
Everything in life takes patience. You shouldn't give up right away because you might be just a few steps away from fulfilling your dreams.
Just like nurturing a flower, personal growth requires patience, care, and persistence. Each step counts. Don't miss out on the chance to nurture your potential.

:))) ieriyn having a normal one
#see the thing is. since the grove defense he’s loosened up a lot#he’s less afraid. he’s stronger. he’s funnier and more open. he’s spent a lot of fucking time with gale.#and he knows no one is coming for him but he’s still sort of like.#in his mind his mission is Get Rid Of The Tadpole. because for all of his ego he does Not think he’s capable of taking down the absolute#his vague plan (he is not a details person.) has been like remove tadpole and then find a way to contact his mentor#(the real one. not the one who has been appearing in his dreams but just a little bit wrong.)#because if anyone can figure out what to do about this or like be able to mobilize The Powers That Be to stop it it’s him#(ieriyn may be growing as a person but he still believes in the ability of authority figures to actually do good. lol)#but this? elminster aumar showing up#with directions from mystra herself for gale to sacrifice himself for the good of everyone? well that changes things.#ieriyn may still be lost and confused but gale was the first person willing to give him a chance#the first person (aside from his mentor) who looked at ieriyn as someone whose magic is powerful and worthwhile.#ieriyn is not going to lose him. he’s not. so suddenly he’s no longer trying to figure out#how to get someone else to solve this. bc someone else may think gale’s sacrifice is a solution#but not him.#so i think this is where his mindset REALLY shifts like he’s been on his way there but this is the catalyst. he’s well and truly done runnin#g#he’ll do it for gale.#oc. ieriyn#漫言#z plays bg3

Breaking the Bad Cycle
When someone grows up without proper guidance, emotional support, or even basic life skills, it’s like being thrown into a race without ever being taught how to walk. And then society (or even church) comes along and says, "Just work hard! God blesses those who try!"—but how can you try when you don’t even know where to start?
Breaking the Cycle (Even Without Support)
If parents failed in their role, and the environment isn’t helping, the painful truth is that you have to parent yourself. That’s unfair, but it’s also possible. Here’s how:
1️⃣ Recognize That “Laziness” Might Be Survival Mode
What looks like laziness is often deeper—fear, exhaustion, or not knowing how to move forward.
If you weren’t taught discipline or healthy habits as a child, of course it’s hard now. But that doesn’t mean you’re doomed.
2️⃣ Start With One Small Discipline
Instead of overwhelming yourself with "I need to fix everything," just pick one small thing.
Example: Wake up at the same time every day. Or spend 10 minutes learning something new.
Momentum matters more than speed.
3️⃣ Find “Unofficial” Mentors
If church, school, or family can’t help, look elsewhere. Books, podcasts, online communities—sometimes wisdom comes from unexpected places.
If you find just one person who believes in you, it can change everything.
4️⃣ Rewire the Mindset From Childhood
The past wired you to think a certain way, but your thoughts are not permanent.
Start questioning the beliefs that hold you back: "Am I truly incapable, or was I just never taught?"
God isn’t just looking for the “strong.” He is the strength for those who have none.
5️⃣ Ask God For Direct Guidance (Even If No Human Helps)
Sometimes, there really isn't an “angel among the chaos.” And that sucks. But that doesn’t mean God won’t make a way.
When David was abandoned, he strengthened himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6). It’s not easy, but it’s possible.
Final Thought: You’re Not A Failure, Just Untrained
Life didn’t give you the right foundation, but that doesn’t mean you’re doomed to be nothing. People who had the “right start” aren’t necessarily better—they just had a head start. You can still build something from where you are.
I know it’s hard. But if you could change just one small thing right now, what would it be? Maybe that’s the first step.
