There they all are. In live action and cartoon form. Glorious.
Most people seem to willfully forget Padmé. I'm not most people.

Padmé, please.
AU where Anakin leaves the jedi order, but still shows up from time to time "to help".

Finally a take I agree with. I'm happy to make many critiques of TCW, but I'll never be a full on TCW hater because there's enough there to enjoy despite the ridiculous aspects. Also Clovis simply ain't real. 😅 He's just a made up plot device and people should just dimiss that stupidity. The original Lucas canon flat out stated that Padme never had a romantic interest before Anakin (other than the artistic boy she merely had a crush on once upon a time), and certainly never had time or inclination for some romantic relationship once she was a senator prior to meeting Anakin in AotC.
I think taking the fun parts of TCW and ignoring the rest would be easier for people if not for the Disney insistence on streamlining everything into 'new canon'. Before the Disney era, no one took TCW that seriously in a canonical sense. People loved many of the characters, but hardly anyone accepted the storyline wholesale. And once the Disney era arrived, do people forget how they cancelled TCW and only brought it back like 8 years later once it was more 'convenient' to them? Honestly, more people should do as I have done and simply ignore seasons 6 and 7 entirely. In my mind, TCW ends where it originally stopped airing ....aka season 5. Even by that point the show had gone off the rails a bit too much for me (many of the arcs are too dark and twisted to be taken seriously as an addition to the canon prequels storyline) but the important thing is that the Wrong Jedi arc in season 5 ends with Anakin and Padme on a united front: both defending their 'daughter' Ahsoka together.
I can safely say this makes a huge difference and is the main reason why I still enjoy TCW. :D
I struggle with tcw anidala because it is both interesting and fun but Clovis is someone I hate for existing lol. Still love anidala though
I really feel like TCW anidala doesn’t really get their characterization right so that’s why I don’t like it but I love movie Anidala and TCW does have some good elements and expands on some of the themes of the prequels.

I feel like... a lot of people seem to forget how genuinley important C-3PO is to Anakin.
When Anakin first found C-3PO in a junk pile, he took him home and put him back together for the sake of helping his mother. He wanted to give Shmi a droid to help her around the house because her life as a slave was so difficult. He loved his mother so much that he gave her C-3PO.
When Anakin left to become a Jedi, Shmi never sold C-3PO. He was her only reminder of Anakin. And even when Shmi was sold to Cliegg, C-3PO came with. He was either sold alongside her or she insisted he be brought with. Shmi refused to part with C-3PO. She took him everywhere, he was Anakins gift to her.
When Anakin returned to Tattoine a decade later to find his mother, C-3PO was there. C-3PO had spent the last ten years with Shmi. Waiting with her, alongside her, every day, waiting for Anakin's return home. He had ten years worth of memories to share with Anakin. He was probably so eager to share them, and Anakin so eager to hear them.
When Anakin married Padmé, he couldn't give her a wedding band. He had none to give her anyway. Instead, he gave her C-3PO. He gave Padmé what he considered to be his most valuable possesion as a wedding gift. He gave Padmé the only physical memory of his mother he had- the droid he had put back together for her.
Sometimes I think about the fact that protocol droids can record and play back voice recordings. And the fact that Shmi probably talked about how much she missed Anakin to C-3PO, so very much. And sometimes I think to myself- what if C-3PO recorded Shmi's voice from some of those talks? What if, because of C-3PO, Anakin was able to hear his mothers voice again, even after her death?
I think about that a lot.

Fix-it AU idea, where Mercy is asked to give Padme a second medical opinion. The whole confession ended with Hero with no Fear getting a couple days long mental health leave after Mercy heard all about Anakin's sleepless nights and anxiousness from his wife.

The more time I spend as a working adult the more I understand how the Jedi Council could look at the tangled web of ethically-iffy and inappropriate attachments that was whatever the fuck they thought was going on with Anakin and Padme, Anakin and Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan and Padme, Anakin and Obi-Wan and Padme - and just go “You know…we’ve got a lot on the agenda at the moment being at war and all. Do you think this might just…sort itself out?”

Rex : What? General! You can't just kidnap random kids!
Anakin : They're mine! I made them myself. Padme helped.
Rex : It's even worse! C-3PO is pretty awful! We don't need another one of your creations!

Padmé holds a supernova in the palm of her hands.
Across from her, lying in their shared bed, Anakin sleeps. His face is peaceful as she brushes her fingers through his hair, rubbing together golden-brown locks and letting them glide between her fingers.
Anakin scares her, sometimes. Like when she sees him in propaganda clips, tearing through armies like paper. When she reviews his military plans that are far, far too risky, and it is already understood that he can pull them off flawlessly. When he snarls, blood splattered on his robes, and fights like a cornered, feral creature. When he looks at her, in their stolen moments, and she knows like she knows her mother’s face that he would - could - tear apart stars in her name.
There are times that Anakin scares her. Even more terrifying are the times when he does not scare her.
Sometimes, Anakin looks at her, with an intensity that should terrify her, and instead it gives her a thrill like no other. Loving Anakin makes her feel loved. If Anakin asked, she would set fire to her life and run away with him into Wild Space. She would bomb the Senate Building and burn herself in its flames. She would follow him to Hell with no thought of returning.
If Padmé asked, Anakin would level the galaxy. She knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he would destroy planets for her, and it makes her want to drag him in and kiss him until the stars explode.
Loving Anakin is like a rush. It’s like a high, it’s defiance, its rebellion, it’s romantic and freeing and the sensation of being caught in a riptide, swept out into the endless waves. Padmé loves Anakin like a sailor loves the sea, like the wind loves the sails. She loves Anakin. She loves their romance. She loves the thought of Anakin. Marrying him is screaming in the face of fifteen years of etiquette training and good manners and perfect-politician-Padmè. The possibility of being caught is a thrill. Nights like this, Padmé lays awake and imagines, vividly, their dramatic escape when their torrid romance comes to light. Perhaps they can journey out, beyond wild space, into the unknown. Maybe they can hide on Naboo, pretend to be commoners and live a normal life, whatever “normal” may be. She wouldn’t know. He wouldn’t either. They could build a normal, all for themselves.
Anakin’s breath wisps across her face. She strokes his head again and reminds herself, I have a duty. They both do. She to the galaxy, he to his people. The Jedi saved Naboo and Padmé, and for that she owes them her life and loyalty. She knows Anakin feels the same. Her fantasies are just that - fantasies. There is no use planning for an unknown future, especially during a galaxy-defining war. They will survive, or they won’t. They will stay loyal to themselves and each other, but through it all, they will have each other.
In the palm of her hands, a supernova snores lightly. Padmè kisses his temple, closes her eyes, and drifts.
