Honestly I have to agree with this. This is probably one of the most healthy and normal ways Stolas has gotten to interact with someone in any relationship. Even his relationship with his daughter is kinda strained. But this, this was an actual respectful interaction. No verbal abuse, no force, and everyone is a fully consenting party despite it not being the outcome a lot of us Stolitz shippers probably wanted to see. It not only gives Stolas more experience, and experience with a healthy interaction with another demon in pretty much every way, it was also a great point for growth with Blitz. Blitz has been struggling with his feelings for Stolas for a long time, and his ideas of love and what it is/should be for him even longer, and him watching Stolas with this other man was a good example of healthy romantic interaction for him too, plus it lead to his conversation with Verosika which I think was also big for him. Did it kinda suck seeing Stolas and Blitz drifting in this scene as a fan of their ship and the show as a whole? Yeah, but I think a lot of people who are upset about this scene aren't really looking at the bigger picture of what this means for the characters as individuals. Stolas and Blitz should be endgame but they are both emotionally stunted when it comes to love because of their shitty experiences in the past. They need to grow alone in order to find their way back to each other in a way that will be healthy and happy for them both. For Blitz, that means learning to apologize and taking inventory of his feelings for those closest to him, and for Stolas, that means getting to experience more than just the toxicity he's fallen into with Blitz directly after falling out of the toxicity he was forced into with Stella. And for his first experience outside of those two, this was a damn good introduction to romance, desire and everything around it.

probably an unpopular opinion: but i didn't hate this situation

stolas looked to blitz for permission. even after all the fighting and hurt feelings, he still cares enough to see if blitz is okay with stolas dancing with this guy, and blitz gives him permission.

stolas has never had any experience outside of stella and blitz. his relationship with stella was toxic, and he wasn't happy. his relationship with blitz has been solely built on sex, with a lot of stolas having to tiptoe around his own feelings. stolas never really got to experiment outside of his relationship with blitz, and with how blitz treated him, i think he should be allowed to do what he wants.

stolitz is endgame (ofc), but i see nothing wrong with stolas having his rebound and expressing himself. he's never been openly desired in such a way, and he deserves to explore that. if blitz is allowed to fuck other people, so is stolas.

also, this dude was nothing but nice to stolas, and i see no reason to hate on him. he's giving stolas an opportunity to have a kind of fun he's never had before. with stolas' lifestyle, he's never been able to attend a party just for the sake of having fun, dancing, and getting drunk.

can we please stop infantilizing stolas? just because his experience is limited, doesn't mean he's incapable of making his own choices. he doesn't need blitz, and i think it's important that he discovers himself more before the two of them rekindle their relationship. if he wants to party and kiss a guy, then so be it. if blitz did the same, no one would care—so let stolas fuck some random guy if he wants to!!

One thing I noticed in this shitshow of an episode is how fucking ungrateful Stolas was for everything Blitzø did for him since he came to his place.

Okay so anyway, I think Stolas said "Oh, when have you ever asked" bc Blitzø stole from him and his family 25 years ago. correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't it manipulative af to bring up smth that happened that long ago, also it's totally unrelated to the current situation. I swear it's like a grown ass man saying to another "Oh I still hate you because, uhm, remember that one time in 3rd grade when you stole my pencil..."

So... if Stolas still holds this against Blitzø, let me ask: why was he ever "in love" with him in the first place? Answer? He wasn't. Stolas only used this imp for his sexual fantasies and for him to get to experience his "fairytale romance"

P.S. Imps are a race his privileged ass has always been racist towards and he hasn't ever attempted to, uh... try to understand them better? Understand how they live? Is it just me or... is this expression full of loathing? I am failing to see some love, reassurance or sorrow right here. All I see is nothing but pure hate.

This look doesn't say "Don't worry, Blitzø. Everything's going to be alright. Take care of yourself. Goodbye." Noooooohohoho!

What this god damn look DOES say is "That's how I'll punish you for not reciprocating my feelings, stupid imp. I'll make you regret this. Now I'm dying because of you. It's all your fault. So you should blame yourself for the rest of your life."

You know what sucks even more? Stolass will TOTALLY guilt-trip Blitzø by this in the future. It's going to be like "But I've done so much for you, Blitzy! How dare you be so ungrateful?!" I have no doubts. He will do this. And the standom will defend him for doing this. And it won't be called neither manipulation nor emotional abuse (as it should be). "Well, the antis/critics wouldn't defend Stella if her and Stolass' genders were swaped!" - I heard this from the stans fairly often. Today I'm not going to disprove this claim though. However it inspired me for my current post.

What if the story wasn't revolved around two queer men? What if Blitzø was a woman and Stolass was a straight man instead? Would've the fans still loved this ship? NO. That's how the critics would respond. And I completely agree with them. Yet I decided to go further and visualize this crap... Why?!

In fact, it was just an experiment that turned out to something EXTREMELY revolting as a result. I mean Stol!tzø IS revolting the way it already is that's for sure. But this is becoming painfully obvious when they're depicted as hetero ☠️

So here are some screenshot edits with genderswaped Blitzø. At first I couldn't decide if I should hide this under the cut or not. Finally I've leaned towards the first option so...

Octavia doesn't need to be "redeemed." She has every right to cut ties with Stolas because he broke her trust and made their already dysfunctional family worse

but I don't think he deserves to be redeemed because Via gives him so many chances, but he never improves as a person.

Thinking about Stolas’s transformation after he met Blitz from Stella's perspective is actually super fucking funny, like for almost 20 years she had a passive, boring, sexless (to her) husband, and then he gets dicked down ONCE and he's walking around like That Bitch and saying things like "people want our money AND our bodies," like fuck her for real but Blitz did Some Things to his whole psyche

Stans defending Stolas with "you can't handle flawed characters!" or "both Blitz and Stolas have flaws" is hillarious.

Yes, both Stolas and Blitz have flaws. But Stolas' flaws are, for the most part, downplayed or ignored by the narrative in favor of portaying him as the victim in almost every situation he's in.

Their taking a step in the right direction with Octavia but we'll have to wait and see if they'll actually COMMIT to that, or if they revert back to how they frammed their reletionship in Seeing Stars, where Octavia was treated as if she was treating Stolas "too harshly" because he's "trying his best", dismissing his flaws a father and ignoring his previous actions.

And for Blitz it's even worse, as the series pretends that the deal was the only bad thing Stolas ever did to Blitz not addressing the fact it was coercion (and yes, Stolitz IS r@pe, I'm tired of seeing people trying to claim otherwise) and all the moments where he consistantly dehumanizes and belittles Blitz, with him claiming that he "never did that". And, the show even tries JUSTIFYING this behavior by running under the excuse of "well, he thought Blitz LIKED it!", which is an excuse that falls flat when Blitz makes it clear to Stolas MANY times that he doesn't like it that he isn't comfortable with how Stolas treats him, yet, Stolas keeps pushing anyway.

And then there's Stella, who the series made into an one-dimensional abusive bitch as a way to justify Stolas cheating on her.

All of Stolas' actions are either ignored, downplayed, or justified by the narrative.

Again, with Octavia it looks like their taking a step in the right direction, but we're going to have to wait and see if they'll actually commit to that or if they'll go the route of "oh, well, Octavia just has to mature out of her clingly desire for her father" because if they DO go that route then any remaining hope I'll have for this show will vanish instantly.

So ya, Stolas is flawed, but his flaws are not written well.

The thing about Stolas sacrificing his life for Blitzø that really ticks me off is how he didn't even bother to quickly hug Octavia and say smth like "I'm sorry, my sweet baby girl. I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise." Then he'd rush to save his booty call. But at least he would have said SOMETHING to his only daughter that would imply that he still thought of her and cared abt her feelings.

Even a TEXT would have implied that she was on his mind to some extent, but noooo... romantic and sexual relationships (even if they are both toxic AND abusive) are always a priority, am I right?
