His ears were getting hot. It was both quite fortunate and disappointing that he didn't get to take a better look at her gown. No, first came recognising her and the alarm bells in his head as he saw Jacques nearby. To James' best assessments, Raven could blend in among Atlesian snobistic elite for only as long as she didn't open her mouth. He would like to witness it, but at the same time he dreaded the outcome. Best it remained a theoretical scenario.
"Any person with basic biological knowledge." It wasn't hard to guess that he had to have a heart. At least some sort of pump that would keep him alive, but he didn't want to admit it out loud. Too close to letting her win that one. Enough that he got to keep his own heart that seemed to enjoy betraying him in the oddest ways.
"No, it's Jacques' fault that I prefer to not secure his manor. I'd gladly steal from him myself." Finally he glanced over her and the jewellery caught his eyes with gold shine and blood-red stones. Just like her eyes. Was that why he didn't notice it earlier?
"Are those rubies?" That's not what he was supposed to ask. Nor he was supposed to carefully reach for one of the stones for a moment, lost in a silent admiration.
"I'm just surprised. I would've thought that'd be the first thing to go..." And for all that James resists the urge to angle his head in the small space, Raven does not feel any such hesitation — lifting her chin in a defiant manner, unbothered by just how close they are to one another. "The tinman has a heart. Who would've guessed?"
Oh, what a misfortune.
As if it was her fault that one of the garish Schnee galas had pitiful security detail. As if a woman such as herself could ever resist an unlocked door. And all things considered, she would've thought she'd done a fairly good job of hiding amongst them : borrowed gown and stolen jewelry, she wouldn't have thought anyone would so much as bat an eye at the sight of her.
One little piece of the board she hadn't accounted for, of course, was Ironwood. Hells, she hadn't even had the chance to hear his iconic snark before he'd thrown her ( and by extension, himself ) into this storeroom.
"Oh, of course. I'm well known for announcing my arrivals." All sharp edge, now, in the way she smirks at him — something familiar to all of this. A verbal knife against his throat. She'd just as quickly have it be a real one, and he'd probably have a better defense against steel than her venom. "Really, it's your fault I was able to get this far. Kingdom security has really gone downhill since Beacon, mm...?"
Pressing as she ever does, to try and find those parts of him that he has yet to replace with steel. Just to see if she can break them first. She'll stop when he stops taking the bait.
#missallanea#ic::Ironwood#ok but consider Raven having to explain to him seven minutes in heaven#XD#because he was that kid that never heard of it#he knows only about closing poor kids in lockers by bullies and tbh it still kinda fits#except at the same time it doesn't#... they have a magical kind of wtf-is-that-relationship XDDD#tell me rewrite in any case#eg: I just thought a bit silly interrupting you at work to ask if Raven wears earrings xD so it's more of up to you

an anon asked me a similar question and i wanted to see your answer! if two of your dreams from any au switched places, how would they react? how would things go for them? - loyal
Oooh that's a good question! @simplepotatofarmer Well, if we're going with my two more developed AUs - CHF!Dream and AH!Dream would have one heck of a time adjusting. Quick premise, in the RivalsChildhoodfriendsAU the DSMP is a roleplay group that performs and livestreams similar to like Critical Role. All the characters are friends, and none of the damage is real.
AccidentalHuman AU is set in the world of the DSMP, timeline adjusted to where Dream was in the prison for a time, but Techno was in on the plan from the beginning and had the plans to bust him out. So no major damage to Dream's psyche happens here - he still has some issues but they're not as bad. He joins the Syndicate after being broken out and joins them on their missions.
------
So CHF!Dream would be hella confused when he drops into the world and the people who he's friends with, and was just talking to hours before not only don't respond to his questions but are actively try to kill him. Thankfully he's not too far from Techno's cabin, which the coordinates are the same in both worlds, and he's super happy to see some friendly familiar faces. That is until he see's Techno... XD I'd think after some explaining, they determine what happened and the poor members on the Syndicate add another weird phenomenon to their growing roster of things to fix. It's a bit of an adjustment, him hearing that this world plays out like his RP but it's real - kind of sends him into a depression for a bit. (He's also super sad to learn that the Exdee of this world is cold and manipulative). AH!Techno would be kind of weird/awkward around CHF!Dream for a bit - mostly because CHF!Dream acts super familiar with him. I think most of the group would be a little weirded out by CHF!Dream tbh, because he's like super normal? Like their Dream is not unfriendly, but he's a little cagey about certain things, and a little more battle-hardened. But this Dream? He's like an open book. I mean CHF!Dream is no slouch, he's still a champion fighter, but he doesn't flinch at certain names, or get upset when Tommy is mentioned. Actually he's super fond of Tommy and Wilbur, which weirds the hell out of AH!Techno for a bit. He's just... lighter. He has a good time in this world all considered, and kind of lifts everyone's spirits just being a little sunshine boy. On the flip side, AH!Dream would be a nightmare for everyone for a bit. He wakes up swinging, and it takes Exdee the better part of the day trying to calm him down. Only for him to go right back to fighting when CHF!Techno shows up. The Syndicate is called in and after AH!Dream sees some more familiar faces he kind of calms down. It's very clear for the people around him that this is not their Dream, and after a lengthy process they manage to get enough info on the situation to start to formulate a plan. (The fact he's lived their RP story and actually went through the things they pretended... kind of horrifies the group). First thing though, they send out a message to the rest of the DSMP that Dream would not be attending some scheduled RP streams due to... "extenuating" circumstances. (Tommy is def not allowed to visit for a while). So in the meantime, AH!Dream ends up staying with the Syndicate, for the other's safety mostly. This time it's his turn to be weirded out, because everyone is so friendly. Phil is super parental to him, and Niki and Ranboo are relaxed and don't seem haunted? Not to mention Exdee being around, and like... fretting over him? At some point he overhears Techno talking to Sapnap and George explaining that something's happened and they'd have to postpone some lore stuff, and wonders how in the world they're in contact. To say he is skeptical about the whole situation would be an understatement. The group makes it a point to actually get AH!Dream some therapy because some gut reactions he has to situations kind of scare them a bit. It takes him a while to believe that he's not actually in danger, that this is not an elaborate trap, and that the people around him are actually his friends. At some point he actually starts to envy CHF!Dream because his life is not as complicated as his.
How they switched and how they get home idk, they do return to their respective lives at some point, but yeah, they're not to dissimilar from each other so I don't think it would be catastrophic, its kind of like if an actor and the character they play were to switch places? (It would be totally different if it was c!Dream dropped in either world...)

what are your favourite kakashi moments that made you love him as a character?
Ohhh I have so many.
From Og Naruto.
When Naruto whinned about doing another 'boring mission' and asked if they were going to chase cats again, and Kakashi just responded with a 'purrhaps'.
His whole talk about the importance of teamwork and protecting your teammates. His beliefs are made clear from day one and it's very friend oriented which i love.
How he showed respect to Zabuza, the man he'd been fighting just minutes before.
When he talks to Naruto about rivals and looks at Gai. after playing the 'cool guy' and continuing to bother Gai by asking him what he'd said it was really cool to see that he clearly felt the same way about their rivalry as Gai did.
Saving Sakura in the Konoha Crush. no hesitation, man cut two shinobi down in an instant to protect his daughter student
Walking away from Tsunade while she was trying to give him a new mission and heading out to find his students instead.
Fighting back to back with Gai in the konoha crush arc. Up to this point Kakashi has been a protector. the one guarding his students and fighting alone. To see him fighting back to back with someone, thus protecting them while allowing them to protect him, was really cool and showed how deep their bond is.
when he told Iruka that Naruto was working to be a shinobi like him. He was being so sweet and cheerful, and i love how he reminds Iruka just how much Naruto looks up to him.
Knowing how to open the first gate. It's pretty clear Kakashi has rather negative feelings about the gates when he finds out Gai taught them to Lee, but here he is using the first gate because he can at least appreciate its use (but still sticks to using only the gate that doesn't cause any significant negative effects to his body)
Shippuden
How he just talks to Lady Chiyo when they're on their way to locate Sasori and Deidara. Dude has no reason really to be nice to her considering the welcome he got from her, but when she asked about Naruto's drive to save Gaara Kakashi did not hold back on telling her about his student. (In general just how he treats everyone around him with kindness, even his enemies)
Getting frustrated with Naruto not listening to him and physiclly having to grab him and pull him back in their fight against Deidara because he needs Naruto to work WITH him, not against him because he's allowing his anger to get to him. big mood my dude.
How he spent his time stuck in the hospital thinking about how to improve the team, and ultimately accepted that the only person he could really help improve at the ridiculous rate they needed was Naruto. If he could have found a way to improve his own skills at that incredable pace i have no doubt he would have gone with that idea, but he accepted that it was time for him to help Naruto surpass him.
How he stepped in without hesitation to save Team Gai when Deidra decided to blow himself up in hopes of taking them down with him
how he does the same thing for Iruka, putting himself into a battle against Pein he has next to no chance of winning so he can give others an opportuity to escape to safety.
His cute challenges with Gai. I just love how he actually lets himself relax and goes full dork mode around Gai <3
how he smiles at Sai and tells him that he belives in him
"Sensei is sorry" it's so stupid but cute and I love how he obviously recognizes he needs to explain things a bit slower for Naruto.
Bullying tenzo. One is not a true friend if you cannot bully each other XD
Stopping lightning with his hands to protect Team Seven from Kakuzu's attack
Being such a sneaky shit that he's able to take out Kakuzu's first heart before his presence is even known.
the entire hidan and Kakuzu vs Kakashi fight tbh. I love how he's just jumping around dodging Hidan like it's not big deal XD
his background! The loss of his father, Obito's death, Rin's death, Minato's death. This man really watched as people around him dropped like flies and still refused to stop believing in other people.
And so so so much more. I love a lot of what he does and who he is. He's a facinating character

MPW Ep 2 Subtitle Corrections
Subtitle Corrections: Ep 1 here
Cultural/Language Tidbits: Ep 2 here
Same translation disclaimer applies. Thanks to everyone reading the first post and geeking out with me in the notes, I really appreciate it XD Ok, Ep 2, let's go! Sorry in advance for the length!
If you're wondering why Yoh's freaking out about the rainy season even though they've been together for 3 years, the manga artist posted a clarification on twitter:
By the way, “it’s been 3 years since then” – that phrase refers to it being 3 years since that conversation regarding the slave contract. As for living together, they’ve only just started (to do so) around Mar/April*, so (at this point) it’s only been a few months (for them). What if (I) got it wrong…. I remember making a note of it, but the file that I wrote it in and passed over (to the crew) couldn’t be found right, so… (was it) a dream?” *Japan's rainy season comes around June/July, so this means that this is the first rainy season these two have been experienced together.
[Y: まずっ] Y: Tastes bad In case the original "that sucks" sounds like Yoh might be talking about the news of the young forecaster - he's really just talking about the food here.
[S: 遅くなるからいらねぇっつっただろう] Original: I told you not to bother since I returned late Mine: I told you I wouldn't need it cause I'd be late right? This is actually a pretty harsh sounding line tbh. It's sort of inkeeping with Segasaki's curtness, but still pretty harsh - so this tells us he's tired after a long day, and explains the frown on his face that Yoh just wipes away with his cuteness
Nikujaga literally means meat and potatoes. It's a stewed dish and a very well-loved comfort food. Super easy to make too (link goes to an easy to follow recipe, and the site also explains a little about the dish).
[Y: 本当、顔だけはいいよな] Y: Really, it's only his face that looks good.
I've talked about this in my cultural/language tidbits for this episode (linked up top) but I'll add it here for completion's sake
[Y: あ、いや。なんでもない…です*] (Ah, iya, nandemonai…desu*) Y: Ah, no, it's….nothing* Yoh let's his sentence trail off before tacking on a "desu" at the end. "Desu" is an ending verb characteristic of "polite" speech, which Yoh doesn't use frequently with Segasaki (in fact, by this point, he has not used polite speech with Segasaki at all, except for maybe saying the full form of the word "welcome home", and even that's pushing it). Here he adds it at the end as an afterthought (the polite form of "iya" would be "iie", if he had wanted the whole sentence to be polite from the get go), which tells us that Yoh's feeling a little off-kilter here, and does introduce the slightest distance between him and Segasaki. We'll see this distance increase as the episode goes on.
[Y: いや、どう考えても食べ過ぎだろう] Y: No but, no matter which way you look at it, (he's) eaten way too much hasn't he? Btw, if your hair started standing at the spoon scraping the pot - in the manga artist's post about visiting the shooting venue (as well as during Ep 1 twitter space) it was mentioned that Mashiko, the actor, can actually cook, so during filming they had to tell him what someone who can't would likely do, and also asked him to do the housework poorly (because Yoh's not supposed to be good at cooking or housework hahaha)
この人*、明日も朝早いんだよな。たぶん。 Original: This guy, has an early morning again tomorrow. Probably. Mine: This person*, has (to leave) early tomorrow morning too. Probably. *The word here is "kono hito", literally "this person". There's actually nothing wrong with the translation "this guy" tbh because that's a fairly neutral term in English, but I'm highlighting it here because in his monologues, Yoh usually refers to Segasaki using much rougher language, such as "koitsu, aitsu", except when he addresses Segasaki directly in his head. I'll talk more about how Yoh addresses Segasaki in the analysis post, but for now - this sentence hints that Yoh has clocked Segasaki's tiredness (subconsciously or not) and is feeling a little bad for him. Then again he quickly hides that by adding on "probably". (Adding the word "probably" behind your sentence is a common way to express doubt/negate what you just said, and incidentally is commonly used by comedians to deliver a punchline).
[Y: あの*…あの…寝るなら部屋でとおもって。] Original: Um… Hey… You should go back to your room. Mine: Um*... Um... if you're going to sleep then, (it would be better to sleep) in your room - at least that's what I thought...
*"あの…" (ano…), translated as "um" here, is a common sound you use when you want to get someone's attention but don't want to sound too demanding - it actually isn't being polite per se, but it does show the hesitancy with which Yoh approaches him. Contrast this with the way Segasaki gets Yoh's attention (so far it's just been "Yoh" or "Oi" - the latter of which you would NOT use unless you were close to the person, or looking for a fight).
As a general rule of thumb, the level of politeness in Japanese is directly correlated with the length of the sentence and just how far you can beat around the bush. So, Yoh's suggestion that Segasaki goes to sleep in his room is literally just "if sleeping, then room..." and everything else in that translation is assumed. He may not being using polite speech forms here (that would be "to omoimashita" instead of "to omotte") but this is still a common way to be polite because he's making a suggestion that is so mild Segasaki can choose to ignore it. This is a great example of Brown & Levinson's "negative politeness" which we'll revisit when analysing their speech patterns, and which you can read about in entirely too much detail here (free to read).
[Y: じゅあ、俺は寝るので** あの、その、そういうことで、おやすみ] Original: Then, I’ll go to sleep. That…sort of thing. Good night. Mine: So then, I'm going to bed, therefore**... Um... that... with that... night!
"Therefore" is an awkward translation for the word ので (node), which is more often translated as "so". I've chosen to use that word because "node", whilst again not a polite form per se, is less colloquial than the more commonly used "から(kara)", to mean the same thing. It tends to pop up more in writing than in speech. "Therefore" doesn't make a sentence polite/formal in English, but it's definitely less colloquial than using the word "so". The use of "node" is just that tiny bit out of place in this sentence paired with the informal pronoun "ore" for "I" as opposed to the more formal choice of "boku".
Again, Yoh answers Segasaki properly here with a "はい (hai)" as opposed to his usual "un" (which is a sound that expresses agreement), when told that Segasaki will be late again. There actually aren't very many moments where Yoh does speak politely to Segasaki (he's definitely rude when he talks about Segasaki in his head hahaha), so these moments stand out. This whole short exchange, together with the random -desu he added earlier, just make Yoh's sentences a little more stilted/awkward, and more distant. Individually they don't deserve much mention at all, but together, and in the context of his jealousy, show just how unsure Yoh is about where he stands with Segasaki.
[Y: あの人の帰宅が遅くなり] Y: That person returned home later and later
"That person" - similar to the above usage of "this person". This sentence is incomplete - the verb form of the last word - 遅くなり (osokunari) indicates that there should be a second part to the sentence (the "completed" form would be osokunatta). But after he says this, there is a pregnant pause, as Yoh puts his phone down and continues cooking alone. The pause continues all the way into the next scene, before the sentence continues, highlighting the loneliness that Yoh feels.
[Y: 当然、触れられることもないままに] Original: Of course, he did not touch me at all Mine: (and) of course, (I) remained untouched (by him) as well
The literal translation for this would be "(the situation in which I) was not touched (by him) continued on as well". Yoh uses the passive form of the word "touch", which places the emphasis on Yoh "receiving" the action of being touched as opposed to placing the emphasis on Segasaki "carrying out" the action of touching Yoh. Consider the difference between the sentences "I was hurt by him" and "he hurt me". The former is the passive form, and is super common in Jp, much less common in Eng. If this is confusing - welcome to Jp grammar just know that the emphasis of this line is more on what Yoh does not have, rather than what Segasaki has not done. It accentuates Yoh's feelings of emptiness and loss.
Y: すっかり日々は過ぎて Y: The days pass by completely ...
Similarly, this sentence is "incomplete", and is instead continued by Segasaki walking in and telling Yoh he'll be late again. (This whole bit just hurts my soul tbh, Yoh is so lonely. )
This is a teruteru bouzu aka a charm of sorts for good weather. See the cultural tidbits post for Ep 2 linked up top for more info!
This is said really strongly, and gives the "what the hell are you doing" feel. Yoh's truly upset here.
I try not to care about some of the subs in these side conversations because they don't add much to the main story and these posts are already too long, but this sentence should really be "Dammit, maybe I should (go) troll the chat" (and the previous sentence should be "If this was broadcasted in a certain country it would be instant death" aka N.Korea ^^;) and I just think it was a nice touch to hint at the fandom wars/flaming that goes on between fans hahaha
[Y: しんどい] Y: This is too draining The word here used is "shindoi", which is a term used when you're feeling mentally/physically exhausted/drained, and carries a sense of frustration (at feeling this way) and sometimes (emotional) pain.
This. Is. Huge. Segasaki does 2 things here - one, he rejects an after-work meal, which you rarely do because Japan is all about the group and rejecting a group invite, to welcome a new member, can make you seem like you aren't a team player - two, the guy who invites him is his senior, which you can tell because Segasaki sticks to polite speech forms whilst the other guy does not. It's still relatively casual, so you can tell he's got a good working relationship with them (probably why he's not worried about rejecting them) but still. In Segasaki's world, Yoh is the No. 1 priority.
This is more accurately "WTF". There are many sounds in Japanese that aren't exactly words, but carry a lot of meaning - "Haa?!" is one of them, and is a very rude way to express a lot of anger and shock. Please, never say this in real life. You will royally piss off whoever it's directed at and if you are outside a Shibuya bar you will get punched.
The word used here is てめぇ (temee), which is a really rude way to say "you", and has the same energy as "you bastard". Segasaki usually uses the informal pronoun "omae" for "you" when he talks to Yoh, he's definitely pissed off here.
This is the same word, "shindoi" again.
I'm going to put the rest of the whole argument here with just my translation because it's too long to screencap the whole thing.
Breakdown: S: What's up with this? This lewd disaster of a scene Y: (You're) annoying! ["うるさい (urusai)" is often translated as "shut up", but it literally means someone is being "noisy", and here is more of a complaint that Segasaki is being bothersome] Y: I'm going to become a hot-selling erotica manga artist! [the word used here is 売れっ子 (urekko), which literally means "someone who gets huge sales" and mostly refers to idols, entertainers, TV personalities etc. So Yoh is not just saying he's going to become popular, he's saying he's gonna be like a celebrity manga artist, which is why Segasaki snorts a little at this] S: What's with that? Hey. *takes away beer can* Y: The hot sellers say that if you jerk off whilst drawing your storyboard, you'll come up with good stuff [urekko-san is a pretty cute way of referring to these popular artists] S: You've not drawn anything, you know? [this is said with a really indulgent air, which contrasts directly with the more authoritative tone of the next line] S: Hey, I'm telling you no more *grabs beer can* S: You drank too much. You just shot what you shot and then went to sleep didn't you? [And this is back to an indulgent tone - also, everyone knows Segasaki is talking about cumming here, he just doesn't actually say it so directly] Y: Shut up! ["黙れ (damare) - contrast with "urusai" earlier. The former is used much less commonly and really does mean to "be quiet". This is why Segasaki pauses and looks at Yoh. Up until now Segasaki just thinks Yoh's gotten drunk and is whining cutely, but this word means things are serious.] Y: I'm going to draw manga that is erotic, that you can wank off to, and then earn lots of money [this is a call back to the conversation with Man-san over the phone in Ep 1, which I did not include earlier because I didn't think it was important to the story when Yoh says "the work that was released last month was amazing! There was a big buzz around the topic "I can't wank off (to this)" - Yoh was being sarcastic here, meaning that he got reviews that his work wasn't erotic enough] Y: and leave this sort of place soon! S: What? Hey - what (the hell) are you thinking? [Again, "haa?" here shows he does NOT like what Yoh's saying, but he does soften the end of the sentence with a "yo"] Y: I'm not thinking of anything! Y: Embracing me so easily - don't think you can (keep on) doing that [again, this is the passive form, so the emphasis is on Yoh being embraced, and here has the nuance of "don't think I'll just (keep on) being fine with being embraced (by you) like it's some sort of norm"] Y: when you don't even like me [this line has quite a bit of bitterness in it - the emphasis here is strongly on Segasaki and his apparent "non-liking" of Yoh my english is dying.] Y: You think of me as just a convenient slave, don't you? Y: If you want to do it that much, go do it with that forecaster next to you! S: You... from the start... what have (you been saying?) Y: I have never been smiled at like that before [again, this is in passive voice]
It's obvious from the acting alone that this entire argument is pretty emotionally charged - this is also reflected in the language because Yoh uses the pronoun "ore (I)" a lot. Pronouns are frequently dropped in Japanese - often you can go an entire conversation without ever uttering the words "I/me" or "you", in part because the pronouns are assumed and also because emphasis on an individual can come across as too selfish/narcissistic or direct. Segasaki uses them often enough with Yoh, which fits his personality, but Yoh normally doesn't. So, when he uses "ore" here it stands out - his plans to be successful and leave, his feelings, his interpretation of Segasaki's actions - all of the emphasis is on his own self. The message is very clear - Yoh is hurting a lot more than he is blaming or accusing Segasaki.
[Y: もう疲れた。あんたといると疲れる。嫌いだ S: お前 酒入るとめちゃくちゃしゃべるんだな Y: ねぇ、何で雨の時はだめなの? S: はあ? だって、お前が言ったんだろう] Y: (I'm) tired out. When (I'm) with you, (I) get tired. Hate it. [We've lost the "I" pronouns here, because the emphasis is on the extreme sense of physical and emotional fatigue as opposed to Yoh himself, and on how much he dislikes that feeling. Of note, "hate" here is closer to "detest/really dislike" - the word is "kirai" - which is not as strong as the word "nikui" which we talked about in Ep 1 when Yoh said he hated the part of him that always listened to Segasaki. Also, this is the first time Yoh has addressed Segasaki with the pronoun "you" out loud - he uses "あんた anta", which he also used in his head in Ep 1, after they did it. Again, we'll talk about this in the analysis post in the future, but for now just know that this term is usually used between older couples.] S: You... once you start drinking you really start talking huh? [literally, you "become able to talk"] Y: Hey...why is it when it rains, (we) can't do it? S: What? Because, you said so didn't you? [the last "haa?" from Segasaki! This time expressing his surprise and slight indignation.]
[S: 俺は優しいんだ] S: I. am. Kind. Great example of Segasaki's use of the "ore" pronoun here to quite literally emphasise how great he is. "優しい (kind)" in Japanese carries the connotation of being thoughtful, anticipating the other person's needs and wants and then meeting them etc. It's a characteristic that people often say they look for in their potential partners.
[S: そもそも、なんだ先の言いぐさは 好きじゃないだの 出ていきたいだの お前 俺のプロポーズを受けといてよくそんなことが言えんな S: 養ってやる*っつってんだ プロポーズ以外になに] S: In the first place, what was with those things you said earlier? That you don't like me, that you want to leave... You... that was rich, saying all that after accepting my proposal. S: I was saying I'd provide and care* for you. If that's not a proposal than what is? ["養ってやる" is a pretty possessive way to say I'll provide for you - it's the same word used when referring to parent providing for a child, or an owner providing for a small animal. It's not rude per se, but it does imply a power imbalance. Segasaki actually sort of has a point here because... this is not something you say to someone else unless you're in a relationship ^^;]
S: ていうかお前、俺のこと嫌いなんだ S: どうなの S: Actually about that... so you hate me huh? S: Which is it?
S: ふーん。あ、そ S: Ohh..? I see. ふーん (Ohh..?) - Segasaki says this a lot, especially in this episode. This is another one of those sounds that isn't a word but carries a lot of meaning. It has a dismissive sort of tone to it, like you've already assumed something or when you're pretty nonchalant/not impressed about whatever the other person has said and are just playing along with them by giving them some attention (so again, if you use it wrongly, it can piss people off). Segasaki uses it whenever Yoh goes mute or shy, as a way to tease Yoh - though Yoh seems to think Segasaki is dismissing/not interested in his answer. あ、そ (A, so) - again, Segasaki says this a lot - can be interpreted as "oh really?/I see/is that so?" - Combined with the above, you can see why Yoh often thinks Segasaki isn't interested in his answer, and even when he does recognise it as teasing, he gets too flustered to do anything about it.
This seems to have gotten longer, if you reached the end - congratulations! I hope this makes it a little clearer why it's so obvious to us as the viewer that Segasaki is really quite patient with Yoh, and is waiting for him to come to terms with his feelings, but at the same time so confusing for Yoh, because of the way many of these interactions can be read both ways. In Ep 3, we'll really be able to get into their dynamics because they've got so much more interaction together.

If mc started to have a nosebleed how would the brothers react (and dateables)
I love this one, it's random and chaotic xD
Belphie
It's the smell that wakes him
He opens his sleepy eyes as copper lingers all around him
His first reaction is one he's ashamed of later: Excitement. It's been too long since he's smelt something so delicious
His second reaction is fear, gripping his insides and tossing them around when he realises that it was you he fell asleep next to
When he sees you awkwardly pressing a tissue to your face, but otherwise okay, relief mixes with confusion
Once you explain the situation to him, he'll take care of you, but he WILL laugh and tease
"Little human, oh so fragile, aren't you?"
Beel
Utter shock spread across his face. Why? Because he really didn't mean to push you against the kitchen door frame face first
He was on a hunt for food, blinkers on and only one thought on his mind: hunger
Well, he forgot about yesterday's burger in the fridge now
Instead he holds a tissue to your nose, as careful as he can, and gives you some affectionate little pecks on the cheek
Who knew the giant could be so gentle
"I'm so sorry, MC. I'll make it up to you! Do you want some of my chocolate pudding?"
Asmo
Ew. Don't get any blood on his white satin scarf??
Don't worry, he'll get over himself and help you
He'll make face about it but he's already getting you a towel
Ok but why is he kinda into it? Teary eyes, metallic taste, little moans
He'll pat your head and make sure to fix your make up and clothes if they got dirty
"Oh honey, don't worry. You're still so cute, even with blood all over your face!"
Satan
He read about that!!
Yes, he gets a bit too excited about it
Can you blame him, though? You're bleeding...out of your nose! Do you not realise how weird that is?
When he realises you don't really find the situation funny, he immediately pulls himself together and is there for you
"So how can I help? More tissues? Sure! Might these cat pics comfort you?"
Levi
Oi!! What got you so horny so suddenly??
There's no use in explaining to him that that's not what nosebleeds mean after all
It couldn't have been him, could it?
...could it have been?
This seems easier in anime
He'll give you a tissue, but he'll blush way too hard
"Let's...let's just go back to playing games, 'mkay?"
Mammon
Human?! Are you dying?!
Oh man, he's freaking out
You're bleeding, you're his human and you're losing life juice!
It takes some effort to calm him down, but eventually, he learns to deal
Gives you a smelly old t-shirt to bleed onto tbh
Takes you on a gambling night out when you're okay again, bc you both deserve some fun now
"...we could prolly sell that shirt for a buncha money now, ya know?"
Lucifer
No listen. He loves you.
But he scoffs and turns his gaze back to his paperwork
He knows nose bleeds happen to humans. They're rarely dangerous. So what?
Well, you're kinda butthurt he didn't even ask if you're okay and you're showing it, too
He realises he could have been more compassionate later and apologises
He'll give you a tender flick on the nose and offer to share some demonus with you
"Do you feel better, love? Let's make you forget. What do you think?"
Diavolo
Frankly, when he smells it, he first thinks you just started your period
But when he turns around and sees what's happening, he doesn't hesitate
He wraps you up in his massive arms, pressing you to his chest without any regard for his white shirt or expensive jacket
This man will show you love and comfort, no matter what
Why? Because you're bleeding and he loves you
"MC, oh no. I'll take care of you!"
Barbatos
He gives you a handkerchief. And another one. And another one. Where does he keep all of them?
He'll clean you right up, too, when you stop bleeding.
He has also already prepared a tea that heals from the inside. When did he do that?
You'll have forgotten about your pain within minutes. How couldn't you?
"How unfortunate. Here, don't mind it. We'll have you fixed in no time."
Solomon
Well, he's human, so he gets it
He lends you a cloth with a weird gel already stuck to it and makes you some hot chocolate as solace
"MC? Where did you go? I made us some hot drinks?"
Simeon
Oh?
MC, are you alright? You seem to have something on your face...
He's never seen anything like it before but he remains calm and curious
He asks about what to do and follows your explanations to the letter
He also tries to search the internet for advice but all the spelling mistakes let the searches go nowhere
"Oh my. What's happening? This is normal, you say? Okay, what do we do?"

Thinking about avatar and bending again. Honestly, I believe myself to be quite knowledgeable on the art of bending, but I still have so many questions.
So idk, I hope someone who understands better than me could give me some insight. Also, discussions around bending stiles are really fascinating.
So, I'll just list the ones we know for sure and then some ramblings and ideas I had.
Like last time, I'll go through the bending stiles based on the atla intro because I can.
Also, I'll be basing this on the rules set up in atla, not tlok. Just fyi.
Water
Waterbending (basic)
Swampbending - just bending swamp water? Can they turn it into ice as well? Don't know why they couldn't but we never saw that as far as I'm aware
Plantbending (?) - not sure if that's the name, but I'm referring to that one guy who bended vines in the swamp. About that, how far does that go? Just vines? I'm no plant expert but I'm sure there are a lot of plants that have the same amount of water in them like vines. So they should bend them too, shouldn't they? That seemingly doesn't take the power of the moon to do that as well.
Bloodbending - the good shit. Being able to control a living being by taking control over the water in their blood. Works only under the full moon (again, I'll be ignoring tlok for this). The question I have here is how far that goes. Theoretically, could they control a corpse? As long as it has blood in it still, of course. Again, I'm no doctor, so idk how long a person keeps their blood after death. Could they constrict the blood flow and make appendages die off? Clod a vein or so? Make someone experience a heartattack?
Sweatbending - bending sweat. Duh. But does that mean they can bend urine? I'm sure they can bend tears.
Cloudbending
They can suck out the water out of stuff as Hama shows Katara. So can they suck out the water out of people? Dry out our eyes? Idk, stuff like that. I don't know why they shouldn't be able to do so
Mistbending - I don't know if that's in the show tbh. But it should be pretty much like cloudbending so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Earth
First of all, I don't know what the fuck earth really is. Like I googled it, but I'm still confused. So if someone could clear that up for me, I would appreciate it a lot xD.
Earthbending (basic)
Sandbending
Metalbending - they should be able to bend weapons, right? Like swords. They can levitate swords. They can fight from a distance with a sword.
Lavabending
Crystalbending - I'm talking about Aang when they were in Ba Sing Se, when he made himself an armour out of the crystals. That opens the question on what earth really is. Like it's minerals, isn't it? Idk about that. But if you can bend minerals, that means they can bend a lot more, can't they? Again, they could make weapons with that and use them as I explained with metalbending.
Colebending - can they make diamonds out of them? I don't see why not, diamonds are just cole with a lot of pressure. But does that mean they could bend diamonds?
Mudbending - self-explanatory imo. But could they separate the earth part from the water? I think so
Glassbending - I've heard about this before from the fandom, but idk. Is glass the same as sand or does it change it's... uh... element? Idk. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bonebending - I've heard that a few times as well but idk. As I said, I'm not sure what earth even is and I also don't know what bones are as well soo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Symmetric sense - don't know if it counts as bending tho
Fire
Firebending (basic)
Lightningbending
Combinationbending
Mistbending - I mean, mist is basically hot water right? So could they bend the heat there and bend the mist through that?
Heatbending - with that I mean being able to put heat into stuff and suck it out. I would say fire-breathing counts as well. Again, I don't see why they couldn't.
Lavabending - I would use the same explanation as for the mistbending. Again, idk if that would be possible, but it's a neat idea I've seen around the fandom a few times.
Chibending - this is something I'm again not sure about but hear me out: We got chi-blocking, granted, it's from Ty Lee and a lot of people theorise that she's an airbender decent so that could come from there. But at the same time, lightningbending and lightning redirection rely heavily on chi. So that gave me the idea that maybe they can bend their own chi and the chi of others? On the other hand, chi could also be something that everyone has. That would mean that everyone can redirect lightning, wouldn't it though? Again, idk, just a thought.
Heat... sight? - basically, couldn't they feel/ see the heat from living beings? Similar to the symmetric sense?
Air
Honestly, I don't have that much on airbending so my bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Airbending (basics)
Sucking air out - like out of lungs or stuff
Temperature regulation
Flight
Earthbending - Ok, listen. Rocks have air bubbles in them, right? So could they bend the air in them and move rocks? They could also blow them up through that, right? Again, just spit balling.
Firebending - again, fire needs air, so could they manipulate fire through air?
Waterbending - same thing here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Spirit stuff idk - airbenders were the most spiritual so maybe they could spirit bend or something idk.
Again, I would love to hear what other think. A lot of those things are also just ramblings and ideas and I'm no genius so keep that in mind.
#atla#waterbending#earthbending#firebending#airbending#avatar the last airbender#tlok#I guess in a way???#bending in the avatar world is really fascinating#disscussion#ramblings#I think that counts as rambling?

ARGHHH CURSE MY BRAIN FOR FORGETTING SO MANY THINGS (aka even more addition to my answers for the ask game. the ask game is now my reasons for ranting. please be careful of the length of this rant)
How the hell did I forget about Uta my beloved and X Drake my sweetie cop boy. AND KING. AND REIJU. ARJFKFHFKSJ-
• What song makes you think of your favourite character?
For Uta, literally every song on the Film Red album (personally, New Genesis, Backlight, and The World's Continuation really scream Uta to me). The songs really show how Uta progressed in the movie and it's just so fun to hear the tune change from a pop song to rock-style and to rap and then to ballad (that broke my heart). I first knew of Ado this way and boy did she have a really good voice (her growls omg).
On the topic of Ado, there's a really good song (also her debut song) called Usseewa that I think fits Law in the context of him expressing his dissatisfaction and anger towards Doflamingo. The catchphrase of the song is literally a very rude way to say shut up (usseewa), so- yeah.
And riding the bandwagon of "songs I know and ring with a particular character", Luffy with stupid by John Michael Howell (yes, again, I am just dumping songs that have a nice ring to them rn). This song is just my personal headcannon of how Luffy's stupidity mirrors a choice he made (unknowingly?) to preserve the brightness he has and to prevent himself from turning cynical like most of the world. After all, how can you see the good in the world and its people if you're constantly afraid of everything being everything it isn't?
SPOILER ALERT FOR KING'S ORIGINS/BACKSTORY AND X DRAKE'S IDENTITY
Moving on, I just got one for King (my dearest), Just A Man from Epic: The Musical (I have seen the book and it scares me and I have not touched it again since that moment). I know this is a bit turning the lyrics on its head but I feel like it'd fit him in a situation where he sees the Seraphims and he was reminded of his situation. He was a child when he had to witness the extermination of his people. He begins to think about how he's now Kaido's right-hand man and the people he's slain. He doesn't want the Seraphims who look just like his people to witness such violence and get corrupted at such a young age. I feel like deep down, King still wants to go back to a place he called home even when said home might not even be there anymore, but he's too busy trying not to get exposed and sold out to the World Government. The overall melody and lyrics just *slams table* it's just KING-
Back to a lighter mood, bc of a cinematic I saw on Tumblr (and then on Youtube) of Business Man by Tom Cardy with X Drake... yeah. It just sticks so bad I can't even keep a straight face anymore XD (pls watch it. I cannot explain the comedy magnificence in words alone) (cue drake singing i'm a business man with a business plan and apoo and hawkins watching with a look of disbelief)

OKAY SPOILER OVER
• What song makes you think of your OC?
I got a collection of them, but some that really stand out to me is Nobody by OneRepublic for Ainsley since he's Samantha's support pillar (he was the first Anomaly (what I call most of my OCs in this universe) that Samantha (albeit unknowingly at the time) created just for that purpose) which is why he's essentially the other half of her heart. He has been, is, will, and would always be with her as an everlasting companion/counterpart. Where Samantha is the more serious, stressed natural leader type, Ainsley is the laidback chaos in flesh type.
And then there's lovely by Billie Eilish and Khalid for Samantha. She's coping with her stress and borderline depression by becoming stoic and hardened (although still easily irritable sometimes (similar to Crocodile tbh)) and when I heard lovely my mind just went "yes that's her song, make her depresso espresso". Add the extra seasoning of something similar to savior complex and just being too responsible for things that she overworks herself (workaholic) because she got them standards.
There's also Royalty because DAYUM this fits her vibe so much. Like she isn't the grand flaunting bright kind of nobility but a "i rule over everything you know but you won't know about it until i tell you" royalty.
Last one for now (because I'm Indonesian and this is played real often in the radio rn), there's an Indonesian song called Gala bunga matahari by Sal Priadi that talks about accepting the passing of a loved one while living on happily as they hoped even though the singer still misses them. It really reminds me of Samantha just reminiscing on the people she they? loved who had already passed. The depresso espresso personality actually comes from Samantha being the first Anomaly created by the (mostly negative) subconcious of the entity right now dubbed as The Primordial One (yes all my Anomaly OCs are self-aware to some extent). The Primordial One of course has origins and that's where the remembering past friends part comes in. Tbh the OC universe is pretty much The Primordial One's subconcious that created a whole new universe and the lore goes deep here as well so I'll cut it right here (might pop up in your askbox with extra bits of lore tho).
• If your favourite character was real and appeared beside you, how would you feel about it? What would you do?
Honorable mentions because they're beloved (these exclude the intial shock reaction)
Uta: KARAOKES. BE FRIENDS WITH HER. SING ALONG. LISTEN TO HER MAJESTIC VOICE. I will teach her the music of this world and then go shopping. OH RIGHT JAMMING TO SONGS FOR HOURS JUST COOPED IN MY ROOM ASKSJKA- (as you can see i am not normal about her)
King (haven't i wrote this already? Anyway): 1. How did you fit into my house without breaking anything, 2. How the hell am I supposed to take you out with all these wings characteristics, 3. What kind of clothes would fit your tall ass
X Drake: so are you a cop - no i'm not - yes you are - of course not! - okay stop. I know you're a cop (shows him the video earlier clips of Wano, the Fandom, and all that) - ...okay then goddamnit - it's okay you're my lizard bbg - w h a t
Reiju: MMM SUGAR MOMMY. I'll save enough money so I can go to Japan and eat fugu (Japanese pufferfish) with her without big risks because have you seen how she saved Luffy from getting poisoned pre-WCI? Hell yeah. Aaand take her out for a shopping trip together and I'd really like to take her to a museum that focuses on biology and not just the appearances (like. museum/aquarium date. that's my mommy)
shiiiiiiiiittttt my rants might've gone out of control. Hugs and cookies for one of my favorite fanfic writers, bye- (i don't want to burden you pls don't feel pressured to answer this and hope i don't have anymore amnesiac sessions akrkrkj)
Now, you listen here. (Affectionately)
You can't just drop "Just a man" on me like that. Its so incredibly emotional, and I think of Gol D Roger every time. Just the:
"I look into your eyes, and think back to the son of mine... I'm just a man who's trying to go home... Deep down, I would trade the world to see my son and wife. I'm just a man."
Okay, now that I've said that. One Piece Red is gorgeous, and I love it so much. The music, the costume changes for the characters in that battle KOBY was just spectacular.
I love Samantha and Ainsley so much. I also adore the song 'Royalty', it's on almost every playlist. I HC that song with the monster trio. As a violinist, it sings to my soul. Samantha hitting it with the Billie Eilish just 🥺🥺🥺🥺. I adore her.
Also, X Drake and King 😭😭😭😭😭. The way you speak on them so passionately 🥹🥹🥹. I love it. I need to write for X Drake so bad. Also, agreed on Reiju. I can't wait to write for her in the next few weeks 🙌. Love her so much.
Thank you so much for your thoughts. I love them so much 🥹

I wonder how Gaon and Yohan are going to explain the change in their interactions to Elijah, since it's going to be obvious to her that something has happened between them. Since Elijah knows that there's nothing between Gaon and Soo hyun, I wonder if she will play a role in clearing Yohan's misconception? Thanks for the update! I can't stop thinking how many ways this story can play out😅 Btw i really appreciate the time and effort you put into responding to our questions with such detail.
That definitely depends on who's doing the explaining xD Yo Han would just brush it off and pretend that nothing is happening — which would just piss her off — while Ga On would make a stilted effort to explain without making it too obvious what it's actually about. Which would also annoy her.
That poor girl, seriously. She doesn't deserve to get caught between these two idiots.
I'm not sure I agree that Elijah "knows" that there was nothing between Ga On and Soo Hyun, though. I think she very much thinks there was something between them. I mean, sure, they denied it when she asked if they were dating, but THE WAY they did so was pretty telling (especially in Soo Hyun's case). Even more so since Elijah is a bit... well, innocent? I think most of her experience with love comes from media, books etc. and how Ga On and Soo Hyun behaved is, well, straight from a drama xD
And Elijah also had that talk with Soo Hyun when they were eating ice cream on Ga On's terrace, where it became pretty obvious that Soo Hyun is in love with Ga On and has already confessed to him several times.
So I think Elijah very much believes they were in love. Which means she won't really play a role in convincing Yo Han otherwise — if asked, she'd probably only make it worse, even. Because her understanding of love is a bit superficial and probably pretty geared towards straightness. That's not to say that she's not aware of gay people (I think she might actually know more about that than Ga On does xD) but from the evidence she's seen both Ga On and Yo Han seem straight to her (because I can't imagine that Yo Han has flaunted his dalliances with other men in front of her).
I know I'm very, very firm about this but Elijah doesn't know that Yo Han and Ga On have the hots for each other. And not because she's stupid, but because she's grown up in a country where straightness is the norm and Yo Han has done everything he can to hide the depth of his and Ga On's relationship from her. Also, she's a self-centred teenager x'D
Like, take me for an example. I was around 23-24 and very comfortable in my own pansexuality but was still IN NO WAY PREPARED when my mum basically went: "I may only have had sex with two women in my life but, let me tell you — 10/10, would recommend." Because I had only ever seen her date and talk about men before and therefore assumed she had no interest in anything else. That's how easy it is to miss that someone close to you isn't entirely straight — especially if it's a parent/guardian.
So I really don't think that Elijah would notice until it gets a lot more obvious than this xD
Which wasn't technically what your ask was about (sorry for the tangent xD), but still important to know because Elijah really won't be all that helpful when it comes to Yo Han and Ga On figuring out their feelings for each other. In fact, she might just end up making things harder for them without meaning to. But more about that in later chapters ;)
ANYWAY. Thank you so much for the lovely ask! I'm so happy to hear that people are this excited and involved in my story! And, tbh, I can't help replying because I'm very excited, too, and love talking about my writing, my thoughts, and my takes on these characters. How could I resist? More often than not, I have to cut my answers short because I keep writing longer and longer ones.
Like, you guys have no idea how long the first drafts of my author's notes usually are. One time I had to cut half of it because it was reaching truly spectacular lengths. And sure, I know that some of you probably wouldn't complain if I had posted that first draft, but I'm trying to contain myself, okay? And also not reveal too much since it might end up spoiling future plot points. It's a constant struggle.
So yeah. I'm actually consciously holding back a lot of the time because I'm trying to not come off as completely unhinged x'D
#Amethystina Replies#Anonymous#Who Holds the Devil#I admit that I sometimes feel a little bad about being so firm about the Elijah situation#A lot of people seem to want her to be aware of Yo Han and Ga on's feeling?#And help them along?#But I genuinely don't see why she would be based on her character in the drama#She's incredibly clever yes#But also socially inept#(much like her uncle)#And a teenager#She's got her own problems to worry about#Her weird uncle's sexuality is NOT high on her list of priorities okay?

IWTV S2 Ep1 Musings - Revenants Pt2
This is the 2nd half of my Revenants Musings. It's unrelated to Pt1, tbh, except that I'm still talking about revenants. But now I'm switching gears to talk about Louis' POV & attitude towards them.
In Europe, he & Claudia are looking for 2 things: ARTICULATE vampires who can explain more about vampires than Lestat; and LOVING vampires with whom they can create a new home.
Mindless Revenants, and Looking for "Good"/God
We get these huge themes in S2 AND S1, that at surface level seem to be making value/character judgements about American vs (Eastern) European vampires, and society at large.
However, it's long been established that the good/bad dichotomy is highly subjective in TVC, and doesn't really apply or work. Not only are we talking about serial killing vampires; but we're also talking about the world at large. AR's TVC has a VERY dark & bleak outlook on the world--no one particular country or culture or religion, but ALL of them. This is summed up by Akasha, desperately wanting to put an end to war & violence (in the most fatalistic way possible).
Lestat's Vampire Court holds that what makes eternal life worth enduring is aesthetics, beauty, art; specifically: Lestat's concept of The Savage Garden, in contrast with the self-loathing of Alessandra's Devil's Road (which they've given to Daciana on the show).
It's categorically white privileged post-Renaissance/Enlightenment colonialist imperialist artistic nonsense, but AR's vampires are bougie AF classist elitist aesthetes who used to be Old World dynasts and Merovingian queens and French marquises and Roman patricians and American slaveowners, and other exploitative aristocrats. So we're scraping the bottom of the barrel, really--none of these are ethically/morally "good" or "bad" peoples, vampires, or countries.
AMC!Louis has a VERY interesting scene when he & Claudia argue.
YES, actually. XD Projecting much! That's one of the FIRST things Louis can't wait to ask Armand in the book/movie!
Louis is Catholic. Like--HELLA Catholic. But Louis' such a coward that he'd rather deny the obvious: convince himself that God doesn't exist; there's wild baboons out there in effing EUROPE; he's an apex predator who only eats helpless baby foxes and guys he has to PAY to feed on; "love? what love?!;" Lestat WHOMST?; Claudia didn't think Paris sucked at all~!; I'm not super depressed & missing my husband, the blood is just "bad" here; I need to find "good" vamps just like me!
Louis does NOT think he OR vampires are good--AT ALL. Like Armand in TVA/Memnoch, Lou's looking for proof that God exists, and for confirmation that they really are damned; forsaken by God.
But Armand couldn't tell him anything, cuz the Children of Satan who taught him didn't have any answers, either. But TVL/QotD blows the lid wide open, when Lestat finally spills the beans & exposes ALL the truths Claudia & Lou had badgered him with over 100 years before.
youtube
NOLA had no answers. Eastern Europe had no answers. Paris had no answers. The only vamps who ever gave Louis concrete answers were Lestat in TVL, Maharet in QoTD, and Amel in the PL trilogy. And it's only in the PL trilogy that Louis finally gives up believing in the "Devil's Road," and starts accepting the Savage Garden instead, as Lestat's Blood Spouse at the end of the series LOUIS started.
Mindless Revenants, and The Coven of the Articulate
Although they're both looking for connection, community, companionship, Claudia's Louis' priorities are very different, cuz they've had VERY different experiences with vampirism. Claudia is looking for someone who'll love & respect HER as an adult, despite her being made as a child. Louis is looking for someone to BE in love with, cuz he was made out of love.
For Claudia, she and Daciana are rather similar, cuz they treat the revenant (a grown man) like a child--Claudia sees herself as someone who can be his mentor/mother, teaching him how to eat and hunt and talk; someone she can have KINSHIP with; "the same."
But for Lou, he wants sentient vampires, not mindless revenants.
Claudia read him for FILTH, cuz YES: Louis wanted to be hunted courted. He's a hopeless romantic who likes walks in the park & nights at the opera & bookish conversations by the hearth at home.
At the end of TVC, the most important members of the Vampire Court are the "Coven of the Articulate;" those who'd written the TVC books & shared their stories & explained their place in world history.
And Louis is their founding member, the godfather of their immortal book club, the bookworm who kickstarted TVC with Daniel in IWTV. Unlike a LOT of vampires, Lou never went to ground; he stays awake & keeps a whole archive/library. (He's SO similar with Maharet.) How much he's actually LEARNING? Who knows. But he ENDURES.
Mindless Revenants, and Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places
Lou's starving for (romantic) love. So ofc Louis rejects the revenant on sight. There's nothing romantic/charming about him. Louis feels ZERO kinship with it, despite it very clearly being in fact a vampire--"the same" as him.
YOU'RE dirty, Louis--you literally looked like a nasty AF zombie at the beginning of this episode, wtf? XD
Which makes Lou's whole reaction to DreamStat HILARIOUSLY sad.
Cuz at the end of the day it's not REALLY about what the revenant looks like--though yes, ofc it's hideous & sheltered pretty-boy Lou's SHOCKED that vampires can even look that bad. Cuz unfortunately, AMC never gave us our Swamp King! 😩
AMC is REALLY beating us over the head with just how down horrendous Loustat are for each other. DreamStat's got a whole effing bat clawing its way out of his gashed throat, but Lou's still standing there, tears in his eyes, apologizing, and letting this ghoulish creature neck on him in the middle of a frikkin battlefield reeking of corpses, like...sir. 😨 Jfc, BOTH of y'all're nasty freaks, huh?
Cuz what matters is that it's LESTAT and LOUIS. Covered in gore & filth & at their absolute WORST, these stupid mofos STILL love each other. LBH, if Swamp King revenant-looking DreamStat had popped up instead, Lou would've STILL dropped trou and started singing voulez vous coucher avec moi, ce soir~! 😍
Only difference is that there's no reason for AMC's version to look like that, since Les got off easy in Ep7. So instead we get the beauty filter, as Lestat gets less & less bloody/gory every time we see him, until he shows up at the Trial for realsies.
So when Claudia & Louis make these sweeping statements about "bad" vs "good," this MUST be treated with a grain of salt, considering the layers of context in AR's TVC universe & how vampires operate, and perceive the world. Louis' not REALLY looking for anything in Europe--he's just running far away from what (who) he wants most.

hot take, genklint (and genklintville) sucks as ships and does their characters a HUGE disservice and actively makes them less interesting, especially since both men are defined by their families rather than their friendship. genshin did kill klint out of honor, but both mens families impact the game and story more than that one single moment. that moment wouldnt have been so impactful if they had no families, thats what makes it so horribly tragic. lbr, people dont care about lady baskerville like they do genshin and klint— she's just an afterthought of "oh shes here too i guess". cowards...
Strongly agree | Agree | Neutral | Disagree | Strongly disagree
So I will admit that I'm not much of a Genk/int girlie, and I'm even less a Genk/intvi//e girlie (censoring these so they don't show up in the tags), so I do hope that this won't come off as super salty/mean. I do try to keep myself from saying that certain ships suck bc I know what it's like to be on the other side of that. That being said, I definitely see why Genk/int is so popular, it's very homoerotic to duel to the death to save your bff's honor, and tbh, Lady B really is kind of a lamp in this story (she doesn't even have a name!). If there's anything I'm still really salty about in the games is that Lady B really is treated like an afterthought to the point where she doesn't even have a name, despite being one of the main characters' mother! This could easily be explained as part of the sort of rushed nature of production since DGS 1 wasn't as big a success as it could have been, and the fact that Takushu had to cut the games down significantly, but that's a rant for another day. I do think that as a ship Genk/int could easily provide another layer of tragedy and angst, this sort of illicit affair that could prove disastrous should their loved ones find out, these paragons of honor and loyalty proving that they are human after all, flaws and imperfections and all that comes with it. I guess that's one aspect that makes the ship interesting to me, that telenovela shit XD As for your Genk/intvi//e analysis, I definitely agree there, she really does feel kind of like a third wheel and is sort of tacked on at the last minute. And I do say this as someone who really likes making ocs and filling in the blanks, but at the end of the day, there is only so much you can do with a character that is just a lamp before you just get to straight up oc territory (not that that's a bad thing, it's always really fun to see different interpretations on Lady B!)

If I may - 8, 11, and 14 for Donnie and Kara please 💜💜
Thank you for asking @miss-andromeda !!
Just to be clear this is 2014/2016 bayverse Donnie for those who don't know xD
#8. Who's the early bird and who likes to sleep in longer?
They both have tbh atrocious bed time habits. Donnie and Kara are a bit on workaholic side of life but once they get together in bed they both find it easier to fall asleep. Kara sleeps in though. Donnie still wakes up earlier than her. But he will not move from his spot for a bit just enjoying her in his arms ;)
#11. How was their first kiss like?
Depends which kiss you mean xDD. In the Started with a Kiss fic Kara kisses Donnie at least twice before they actually get together and we are yet to see their first kiss as a couple so stay tuned for that ;P
#14. Are they so attached that they're always by eachothers side wherever they go?
No, not really. When they go to shopping malls together though (yes, they do, it will be explained how it's possible in fic xD) sometimes Donnie as a joke attaches a balloon to Kara's clothes which she doesn't really notice but it's a great way to locate a tiny girlfriend XD she Huff's and puffs but also laughs when she discovered the marker calling him giant butt. (Reminder she is 4'8", he is 7ft lol).
But no. They aren't attached to each other but enjoy being in each other's area -same room or same lab.

Tamlin x king of hybern
i dare you to make a ship fic out of this XD surprise me! Take me off guard! Make it sad, or toxic, or a surprise fluff! Go crazy!
Also I LOVE YOUR PFP, PENELOPE IS BEST GIRL!
#DeathIsTheOnlyEndingForAVillainess
TW: uh dark themes like corruption and what it takes to get there, vague dddne vibe
Okay okay so like any villain flavored ship, it can go three ways: horribly, tenderly, or both.
Horribly
Let's see, could go really dddne the way it could would Amarantha, mind break flavors, or even the slow corruption arc that's only painful (meaning Tamlin looses his sense of self completely)
Both
This is still a mind break corruption route, but if we used canon: since we never actually see the KoH until ACOMAF and he's described as someone plain in the books (please sjm I'm gonna start a petition to allow your villains to hot fr)
Let's have KoH infiltrate the Spring Court during ACOWAR as Just Some Guy who gradually gains the trust of the Spring Court and integrates himself pretty well in their daily life. Maybe he went there to see the situation and maybe even take down the Spring Court, but guess what? Hilariously, he doesn't even have to lift a finger. Feyre destroys it herself and not just the Spring Court, but also deals a devastating mental blow to Tamlin. This leaves him open to manipulation even especially if Lucien leaves with Feyre. Especially if he spirals into what we saw in ACOFAS where Rhys eluded to Tamlin not even protecting himself by keeping the manor unguarded.
Meaning that this gives the KoH plenty to time to literally be the sole person by Tamlin’s side especially if he can glamor himself or even has some new ability like the ability to possess people (which could explain his age and why he might be older than Beron).
Maybe it even goes so far that Tamlin begins to rely solely on the KoH and falls for him because he just wants to be cared for rn and no longer have to push himself to be someone he's not as the High Lord of Spring
Plot twist?? Maybe (in sjm's all fae but villains are carved by the Mother herself) the KoH was actually human and was the first to use the Cauldron to become fae and that's why he knew he could change Nesta and Elain. And that's why he just knows how to use it.
This would definitely add more layers of complication towards how Tam would eventually grow closer with him because I honestly think he could get to a point where he just wants to rest and be treated kindly so he could ignore what the KoH is doing in Prythian, but that he would have difficultly if he had to live with cruelty surrounding him (given that he's already moved to Hybern). So he would definitely hate it if the KoH didn't rule fairly or reinstated slavery.
Then again, KoH motives for this can be fleshed out into a manipulation tactic or wild, maybe the KoH still actually sees himself as human and is trying to destroy all the fae as like a weird moral excuse. Or it could be that the KoH had the Cauldron before this and actually had slaves as a cover where maybe all the slaves in Hybern are actually a super secret saiyan humans and are undercover to infiltrate courts and all lands because back during his time, humans couldn't move freely in the world without being a slave or subservient to the fae. But at that point, it's getting very conspiracy and ends up trying to excuse a lot for him so that Tamlin can actually have a relationship with him. Tbh, if the slavery thing isn't addressed, I could see Tamlin snapping out of it and in a very climatic battle where everyone thinks Tamlin's basically become the co-ruler of Hybern, he kills the KoH and just sobs over his body
Extra tragic if Tamlin doesn't feel like he can be forgiven and dies with the KoH
Tenderly
Okay so this would rework the KoH and give him an even more tragic backstory. Given that I already mentioned human KoH, what if it's actually where Amarantha and Clythia have been ruling Hybern for over a millenia. And using the KoH as a puppet king they crowned long ago after turning him fae in their Cauldron experiments. And then that neatly explains why Hybern killed all their human slaves before setting them free. They wouldn't want evidence of their world domination plan using human turned fae magically bound to them to get outside of Hybern.
The slave bargains they use on humans still goes over when they're Made fae, similar to how Feyre's bargain with Rhys is still intact after becoming fae. The only way to be free of the bargain is if the ones who made it die.
Of course, there's a limit to how many people they can control and they limit it to a very small group in Hybern.
That also means that they can put themselves in positions of power in their court without having the same risks as a ruler would. Like imagine the multiple assassination attempts and general inhumanization (hah) the KoH would have to go through for what seems like a literal eternity. And their the ones actually starting wars in Prythian and the reason why Hybern surrendered is because Clythia died and Amarantha is the younger sister and she definitely relied on her in their impossibly immortal lives (not before getting personal revenge on Jurian tho who definitely learns about the KoH)
Or Amarantha surrenders after Clythia's death because Jurian found out about the Cauldron and destroyed it into three pieces (like in canon but with it actually being broken not that it needs to stand on three legs) and the humans hid it from her
But Amarantha only discovers this after she kills Jurian and tries to bring Clythia back, effectively killing off the few people that know about the Cauldron
In this, Amarantha would be the main antagonist and she does eventually collect the othe pieces but conquers prythian and utm to find the last. She resurrects Clythia and Jurian (so that he can be tortured more) and they go back to their plan of world domination.
Maybe feylin happens or something else does but Tamlin does eventually takes sides with Hybern and becomes Amarantha's High Consort as the High Queen of Prythian while Clythia goes on to fulfill her childhood dreams of becoming Empress of the Continent.
(Also, kinda nice that the evil sisters always have each other's backs and will never betray each other and that's also what makes them a threat because no one can shake that foundation)
Eventually Jurian does tell Tamlin that the KoH is literally the oldest Cauldron Made Fae outside of Amarantha and Clythia. They scheme to set him free and they eventually kill Amarantha (with the help of literally everyone else).
But before that it plays out that Amarantha sends Tamlin back to Hybern after their wedding ceremony so that she doesn't have to worry about him (both for his life and so that he can't conspire against her) and so that she can secretly move the Cauldron back to Hybern where it's kept safe
But because Clythia and Amarantha are both not at Hybern, the KoH has a little room to act as he wishes. He acts on their orders and can never reveal his true personality but he does strangely enough do his best for Hybern and ruling its people because they've also been living under years and years of tyranny (through him). So when their not watching he can take steps to express some of his desires.
He married only once a long time ago to have a heir but Amarantha killed his child as punishment because he started doing little things that made the court question him. Basically the KoH has no hope for freedom and just lives like an actual puppet and has become somewhat desensitized to his surroundings.
But because Clythia died, Amarantha now is the only one who can actually control the KoH, so now the bargain that was placed on him forever ago is weakened. (Meaning Clythia needs to remake the bargain with the KoH to reinstate her control over him. But because neither Amarantha or Clythia have died of old age, they don't know that the bargain has weakened)
Cue the suspicions Tamlin begins to have about the KoH and Tamlin actually exploring Hybern and learning lore until he eventually finds the Cauldron slowly discovers the truth
He learns that Amarantha and Clythia are the oldest fae alive and can actually steal the powers of others but can only manage one at a time and they have to learn it again once they relinquish it. Amarantha used daemati abilities to literally take complete control over Prythian and even a young Rhys. That's also how she's able to completely control the KoH without anyone knowing because she can command him through her thoughts. She's fully had a leash on the KoH for so long that she feels okay with leaving him be because she can also harm his citizens (who he has somewhat grown attached too)
This would be a great way to actually flesh out Hybern and not have it just be a place of misery and oppression. Even Amarantha and Clythia know how to rule in ways that gives them power. Amarantha uses fear tactics but eventually plans on letting up when her rule stabilizes (even the Romans enjoyed brutality when it wasn't them actually experiencing it). Basically, the people are willing to suffer through a cruelty if they are content and will not endure someone incompetent with their needs. Meaning that the KoH's (forced) cruelty is not just because, it's about gaining and keeping power. Clythia had a great balance of this, while Amarantha prefers more violent tactics (which is also why she had all the slaves be killed instead of giving them up).
It's during this time that the KoH and the other puppet fae begin to hope for the first time for freedom, and the KoH eventually breaks a rule that set up by Clythia and Amarantha.
During this time, Tamlin and the KoH get close. Also, guilty pleasure, but they also have an affair because Tamlin is technically married to Amarantha but neither of them care about that (but they do have to hide it which is honestly the best part).
Eventually, Amarantha dies and Hybern stages a revolt as the KoH is no longer bond in a slave bargain.
Clythia is killed as well after more plot and the KoH eventually explains everything publicly utm. Amren can confirm he's a Made fae and he does eventually get redipped in the Cauldron to become human again. Maybe he stays immortal or maybe not.
Also maybe, to tie a little plot hole, they Made his appearance different as the original KoH (if he was an imposter instead of just a puppet king) and he changed back to what he originally looked like as a human once they both died??
Or it could even be that Hybern was originally a human kingdom before it was conquered by the Fae and the KoH was made a slave after Amarantha and Clythia conquered it with their father (?) the original KoH forever ago. And then that would add another layer that they basically deposed their dad.
This could tie into different endings where either the KoH abdicated and goes with Tam to the Spring Court, or they both fuck off and become wanderers, or the KoH stays the KoH (in a different body) and rules over Hybern peacefully (or enacts a council or does something else) and reclaims Hybern for humans (especially if we're going with the HC that the Treaty only works between Hybern and Prythian and the only current free lands for humans is below the Spring Court).
I'm personally biased to that the KoH was a human king who was conquered by the Fae and then Made Fae (which was forgotten to history) by Amarantha and Clythia after enslaving him into a bargain. That means that the KoH doesn't change his appearance and then reclaims Hybern for humans. And Tamlin rules with him while Lucien OR Feyre (or both who knows) can look after the Spring Court. Especially if it came down to the fact that the KoH can't leave his kingdom to anyone rn but Tamlin can.
It could also be a nice breather for Tamlin especially if he found the Spring Court to hold too many bitter memories for him and/or he doesn't feel like he could go back to the Spring Court as the same person he once was. Also Hybern could just feel more freeing to him personally because he's no longer has to play the part of High Lord with all the expectations of it. He doesn't have to contend with nobles about his status as a bastard that had been conceived on Calanmai outside of wedlock (which would actually make more sense than that all the nobles left because he was a warrior) and never feeling like he could mold himself into the fancy trappings of the spring court.
It would be interesting to have Tamlin see Spring as something eternally stagnant because the seasons don't change. Eternally beautiful and eternally brutal. The Spring Court could be filled to the brim with nobles and there fancy clothing and how Tam sees it all as a farce, as an excuse for cruelty (since i often base my Spring Court on France during the revolution). Maybe because he's spent centuries trying to change it but he never feels like he's making progress. Especially if the succession system is like canon. He couldn't refuse his title, and the nobles were stuck with him and he had to live in paranoia that someone would test the family magic he had to the Court itself and see if they could replace him. (They don't because of their potential fears).
I also like the idea of Tam being demi and genderfluid and just feeling stagnant like the Court itself with their expectations of him. And since I'm petty, I like to think evil Hybern is actually more nuanced and feels more free to Tam. He can remake himself there where no one is looking. He finally gets privacy to be himself. And that's what he found even while as Amarantha's High Consort.
Imagine he was given many of the expectations a woman would be given because his roles were switched with Amarantha. Even if she bears him children, he will be the one to raise them and with how he would have limited say on most things in her High Court.
I'm also a personal fan of soft Tam and just letting him become even softer. In this way, he likes helping the KoH but he doesn't want to rule. Of course they're equals, it just tastes different because Tamlin no longer has to be forced into those expectations. He likes the idea of raising his children instead of spending his days debating with nobles on policies. He likes the idea of tea parties and gossip and things typically feminine in comparison to his peers. Basically, he's just very genderfuck.
basically I wanna see Tam in some historical irish dresses and running barefoot in the rain
Uhhhhh, so I rambled there uh
Hope you enjoyed me spiraling because now I'm definitely planning on writing the tender part of this journey
#pro tamlin#anti sjm#uh i spiraled once again#tamlin x koh#koh x tamlin#i apologize how did it get so long?????????#omg also i forgot#i also love villains are destined to die#already have a fic planned for that fandom actually#acotar era

omg stuck on a v.olo idea & had to share where he swallows us down on mou.nt co.ronet when he loses the battle and tells us were his consolation prize instead of meeting a.rceus & he traces our bulge down his throat and tells us were so tasty and likes us squirming in his belly and rubs it and teases us but actually hed never gonna hurt us cuz he wants a nicer world after all & he got attached to us but he wants to take us with him & he’s grumpy now and this makes him feel better until he explains his story & we forgive him
he also heals our p.okemon that were hurt in the battle while were inside as a apology
cuz hes mad at how his plan went but he doesnt want us to go away & we cant spill his secret if were safe in his belly
v.olo uwu
ps its cute if he lets us out when were alone but if he goes to town he swallows us again and acts like he doesnt know where we are
pps i rly just like making excuses for v.olo to keep us in his stomach and rub his belly with us in there x3
Hello again dear v.olo uwu anon!
Warning: spoilers for P.okemon Legends: A.rceus below!
Dang, V.olo is pretty adamant here and goes straight to the point ngl xD it'd be cool to see that despite losing the battle and being very bitter about it, he still doesn't take his anger on us or blame us for his defeat 🥺 even though he basically eats us as a consolation prize, lmfao 😭😭
However, I guess it wouldn't be too bad after all? xD V.olo doesn't get what he wants, but he has us as friends, and we can understand how frustrated, desperate and lonely he must feel and have felt throughout the years ;-; even if I admit he'd be more controlling and possessive than usual, since he's making the decision of bringing us along without consulting us first :O especially if he's so afraid we might leave him and tell the others his secrets 🥺
So I feel like we could be squirming and struggling a lot when he's eating us, unless we really want to go with him and let him hide us from everyone else xD
Quite nice of him to heal our team, though!
Omg, being in and out of his stomach depending on where he is is quite funny tbh xD like he needs to go get some groceries from a village in another region, and he's like "It's tummy time for you!" and so we're swallowed again pretty fast xD and nobody would suspect a thing!
And maybe if we're very unwilling, we could squirm a lot and be a source of discomfort to him if we hear him talking to someone else, more specifically if he's explaining how he hasn't seen us in a while xD we'd most likely get only more tum time out of all these stunts, but inevitably we'd get used to it sooner or later, wouldn't we? xD
P.s. I personally love scenarios where he's keeping us inside him for more extended periods of time xD he's got the potential for it too, both with evil and sympathetic intentions x3 also we love a possessive twink (/lh) that just enjoys eating his friends so much, hehehe x3
I'd love to see more of your ideas if you've got some more, dear v.olo uwu anon! 💙
#oh my god i love this idea a lot xDD#thank you for sharing it with me v.olo uwu anon!#it could work both for willing and unwilling vore here#tho i really liked the idea that v.olo would just decide we're coming with him both because he got attached and we're a consolation prize#plus he'd prevent us from revealing his secrets about g.iratina and a.rceus#we can't share a thing if we're trapped/staying in his belly almost all the time!#and he's leaving h.isui too so nobody would even recognize him or us if they ran into us :O#mmmmmm so much long-term endo/vore potential for him!!!!!#if it's v.olo i'd be okay with not seeing the outside for some days xD#safe vore#g/t vore#unwilling vore#unwilling prey#willing vore#willing prey#endosoma#long term vore#long term endosoma#v.olo vore rambles#v.olo uwu anon#my asks#v0re#nonsexual vore

Elizabeth Midford is a character I have such complex feelings about lol. Like I honestly do not like her that much but I'm also super defensive of her? I just don't like her because as a person she seems very self absorbed and way too inconsistent/easy to mess with. I know some people flipped on her character after Book of Atlantic (Valid, character development always results in re-evaluation of characters, thats what it's for) but tbh I still don't like her all that much. But she has some admirable traits and can be very caring, and I can respect her and understand her motivations even if I personally disagree with almost all of it XD But so many people are like oh she's super annoying and stupid! No! Leave her alone! She doesn't deserve to be treated like that! Her motivations and circumstances serve to explain her character very well and at the very least she has my sympathy!
#kuroshitsuji#black butler#Elizabeth Midford#I don't like her but I can understand her and I refuse to treat her the way I see so many people treat her character#Also -oh I didn't like her before BoA bc she was useless but I like her now bc she's badass- is a simplistic and annoying take#There's more to characters then “being badass”

Scorpio, Capricorn and Virgo are also considered feminine leaning tho!
Hj has a pretty balanced "feminine" and "masculine" chart overall tho leaning towards feminine.
Moon in gemini is considered a pretty queer placent too (and I can attest to that xp) and the sag placements and 9h(in placidus at least) would make me think the possibility of liking any kind of people and gender, same in 11h tbh.
Btw, even if it wasn't super direct, I still 100% believe that was him coming out as pan bc why would he specify wether man or woman? It wasn't necessary to say🤨 And yeah he said that was a different story but pretty sure he explained it to contextualize on why that was his ideal type, bc also he followed by "SO yeah I don't have an ideal type, I try to see that person vibe first" meaning it was indeed connected to the story.
Also Korean is a very neutral gender language but they do use the word girl or man to define ideal type as well yet not only he specified "wether man or woman" bf but also said the word person a lot🤨
And yeah het ppl can also be attracted romantically or/and sexually bc of the inside too but that's mainly an aroace spectrum and pan experience and you don't really see het allos defining the ideal type excluding their gender unless they are multisexual, ace or/and aro.
Idk I just think since he was soo smooth about it and he wasn't saying "pansexual" explicitly it's easy to ignore and not think much about it but bc of what I said I still think that was proof and he came out!
(2/2) Which I also find interesting is him having planets that even if they don't have to mean only that, they can indicate being in the trans umbrella. Like his Sun/Uranus aspect to say one example. I obviously wouldn't rely on astrology to state any sexuality or gender, just using it to explain the possibility in astrology terms! But either way, no one can convince me Hj is cisgender tbh. And I don't mean it bc of stereotypes or gender expression(gender non conformity doesn't necessarily mean being trans as well although it can be common they align), I mean well those and other things open more possibilities for me thinking so but yeah I just think he isn't cis. But anyways it doesn't matter nor what what we think so
Oh anon, giving me a reason to continue writing essays hahaha- I'll try to address each bit at a time.
Scorpio, Capricorn and Virgo are also considered feminine leaning tho!
I did go back and check that I got Virgo right in this writeup, where I put it as neuter leaning feminine (she is the maiden, after all). If I didn't make it clear, I consider the planets with contrasting elements one way or another to be "leaning" as well. So in the case of Scorpio and Capricorn, their elemental positioning causes them to not be as strictly tied to the binary. Scorpio is related to the scorpion that killed Orion, and Capricorn to the goat that suckled Zeus. Of the two, I personally take Scorpio to be a bit more masculine than Capricorn, but that's personal flavor of finding Mars energy a bit more overt.
I'd agree on the sentiment that Hongjoong has a mixed chart, but I find most people do- it's what makes people that have type dominant charts (stelliums, elemental imbalance, etc.) so interesting because they're that much rarer.
Moon in Gemini is actually one of those placements that trips me up because it shows so differently across different people based on where it's placed. I very rarely can clock it without looking at a chart. Naturally, Ateez would have 3 of them xD
As far as Hongjoong's placements go, it's his Mars in Virgo sitting in the 9th house, not his Sun (edit: as per traditional astrology) which I think would lead him to being way more traditional. The thing highly combatting that would be his Jupiter opposite in Pisces, my belief for one of the artiest-fartiest placements a person can have (especially in the 3rd house!). To your point though, under whole signs that Sun/Venus combo gets thrown to the 11th house, which I would describe as much more open. Interesting how two very different placement systems can generate a similar outcomes.
(Sagittarius is indeed a very forward thinking sign borderline rebellious, but by whole signs it's in the 12th house, so his Mercury, while charged, can work against him in this regard.)
Discussion on the video itself
I do think his verbage is very interesting, and it reminds me very strongly of Felix or Suga. (Felix has also basically come out as much as I think will be allowed of him).
THAT BEING SAID, I would remind us all that an idol's job is to be appealing. That's not being pessimistic so much as the pragmatism of someone realizing their interested demographic and playing to it. Not to say anyone, Hongjoong or otherwise, is lying when they form responses like this. It's just also recognizing that if you approach me at my job about my opinion, I'm gonna give you a neutered answer. I think the same applies to idols. So, while his take to the inquiry makes me raise my eyebrows, as to how far I'd infer something with it..... I stick with my original commentary of "pan-coded".
Finally, if you haven't read enough, I'll link this fun article on queerness in theatre, which I think also applies to other artistic professions such as music or fashion. At the end of the day, I find it very interesting how K-Pop and its fandom has become something a haven for queer people despite being rooted in a still-conservative country.

@greatdevourer1231954 replied to your post “You said in a comment that you see Odin more of an...”:
just saw you comment and thanks for explaining, but even after reading, is still hard for me to see him as an antagonist rather than a villain, i mean after everything he did- Killing Ymir, murdering Groa, Letting Freyr burn, manipulating Freya and abusing his family. Is hard to see him as someone complicated, because he choose to do theses things. I kinda just wished they like explained what exactly happened to him to become this monster/ tyrant.
that's fair, his actions are quite villanous and tbh what counts as a "villain" depends a lot on the viewer since again, it's a matter of characterization.
for me personally, a villain is someone who's just evil for the sake of being evil. again, think of the stereotypical devil or the classic disney villains. they're just Like That and that's all there is to it. meanwhile, i view the character and their actions separately, so while Odin's actions are villainous, he himself isn't because that's not the brand of characterization he's been given.
to take a step back, i think that the writer's team did a very good presentation of the thesis that "power doesn't corrupt, it reveals" with their gods. people talk a lot about what they'd do if they were president or ceo or whatever, it's fun but ultimately meaningless cus it's never going to happen. (é conversa de bar, sabe? xD)
but as a god, Odin lives that possibility everyday because he Has that power. so without the hurdle of powerlessness, he gets to indulge in every base and nasty whim and desire he can. He killed Ymir for even more power, and now that he had a taste of power that evades even gods, he wants That as well. if to become a CEO of a massive corporation, you have to lie, cheat and steal and bulldoze over hundreds of people in a capitalist sense, then to become greater than a god you have to do even worse.
he did indeed choose to do these things, but another thesis they do well is the "banality of evil". i don't wanna graft a thesis about the nazis and the Holocaust onto a fantasy story, but le'ts just look at the core of it: that evil is easy once it's normalized, and that anyone is capable of not only supporting but actively helping to do some of the greatest acts of evil imaginable. on that lense, what could be called villainous acts become quite mundane, even if Odin did choose to do all that when he could have chosen otherwise at literally any point. when you write gods with great powers as human, and therefore fallible of all the evils and cycles of vices humans can get trapped into, doing all the things that Odin did is as possible and rationally comprehensible as Thor struggling with alcoholism.
