Did Prince/ King Gai have a turtle in the palace? Like I imagine a lot of the turtles are in Nanako's River where Kakashi made them for Gai, and going out and feeding them with his queen to watch them in their natural habitat must be an absolute joy!
But would Gai have one in the palace as a pet? Maybe after the accident that took his leg, he was feeling down. So his son Katashi brought him a turtle with a damaged leg too, and he made a little mini enclosure for it! Gai's first "Ningame!" (Bonus points if Katashi got the idea from Nakano. Who held it up after hearing their dad got injured and told her brother to take care of it!)
Imagine if that turtle was STILL ALIVE when knight Gai was born. The princess would show off the "ancient family pet" and the thing immediately getting up and walking towards Gai!
Its an exciting reunion!
Turtles actually were created in the castle grounds, before Nakano's river existed. they were a gift Kakashi created for his friend when Gai was a teenager, to keep him company when Kakashi couldn't.
Nakano's river is full of river otters, which is why they're the animal associated with her, rather than the Tortoise or turtle.
I do love the idea of Nakano and Katashi giving King Gai a tortoise to care for after he lost his leg. they do like water so when the river appeared they'd start hanging out in the area.
Tortoises also do live a rather long time, around 150 years, so maybe Ningame is around the end of his life when he gets to meet Knight Gai and reconnect with his favorite human.
The princess adores him, but she's also annoyed with him at times because his leg never heals so he's even slower than the average tortoise. she also pretends that tortoises are her favorite, since they're known to be a family symbol at this point, but her favorite animal is actually the black bear. it's powerful and large and she even tries to convince her father to change the family animal to it because it shows more strength (he does not and she's kinda pissy about it for the rest of her life because even as queen she can't change it, but she does change a lot of the symbols in the village to make it seem like the black bear is the family animal)

Was Prince Gai ever allowed to leave Tonika? Like for a treaty or to investigate something? Maybe as a child he convinced Kakashi to sneak out of Tonika with him, just to see what the outside the mountains looked like (cue guards finding him a day later and his first scolding from his papa and mama).
Because I could see it both ways. Him staying inside Tonika his entire life and being content to make his kingdom the best it could be, or him traveling outside at some point for a trade deal or to meet another kingdom. Maybe if his darling wife was from originally outside Tonika, they could have traveled to see her home/ kingdom and visit her family and have Katashi learn about his roots.
Although if Tsunade's curse/ disease is in full effect at this point, I understand if he never actually left. (Although I have an idea for a work around...)
I'd imagine him being a bit like Princess Jasmine in the 'I want to travel and see the world' way. So Kakashi helping to sneak him out of the castle and see even just his village would be something fun i'd think he'd do.
Which causes a bit of trouble with King Dai and the Queen because not only does their son talk about a friend they have never seen, but now that friend is taking their son out of the castle? not cool.
I think there was a time Dai would take Gai places, but maybe that's when the disease starts to get really bad and Tonika has to restrict travels for everyone, and in doing so there's some justified anger. so Dai's more cautious about taking his son out.
Gai does go out of the castle, usually with his tutor Choza, but is always guarded and restricted from interacting with people which he hates. he wants to be able to talk to people as they approach him.
When he becomes king, Going out of the castle would happen a lot more. man cannot be restricted, and he's going to find a way to go travelling to other places. i mean, they'd have to come up with something for his wife to get to Tonika and survive, so there must be measures they can take to be able to visit other lands without making people sick.
he'll figure it out lol

Many arts of multiple version of Kakashi interacting with each other made me suddenly think, have you seen Kill Me Heal Me drama? What if Kakashi has DID, apart from his canon mental illness? Like he created a suicidal fragment, fragment that resembled Obito, fragment that resembled Rin, fragment of his bratty child self, and they were like randomly appeared and change Kakashi's mood
When thinking if you should ask me if i've seen anything, a movie or tv show or anything else at all, just remmber. 99.99999999999% of the time, the answer will be 'No' XD.
might save you some trouble.
Anyways XD
I do have a head cannon that Sukea is a very distinct personality of his own separate from Kakashi, rather than just a disguise he uses to gather intel or mess with his student. So i can definitly see that branching out into more than just one personality.
that being said, i don't think there's any personality that could be considered 'resembles obito' or 'resembles rin'. they're their own distinct people with similarities
like Obito's lateness
or Rin's cheek marks.
but the overall personality really wouldn't be able to connect fully to that person, because there's parts of them that are their own. Sukea's cheerful personality is like Rin, but his love of photography would match Obito more (at least according to the Anime. In the manga we never see Obito express interest in Photopgraphy, so i tend to associate it more with Kakashi).
I love the idea of his personalities/traits splitting into different people. maybe for a while he tries to fight it and keep control, but overtime he learns to accept that these are all a part of who he is, and just lets them out when it's their turn. so one day his students will be dealing with the laid back teacher, but the next they'll have that more arrogent 'train train train' focused teacher who will make them train until they're nearly exhausted, and they're not sure how to deal with this but it's actually kinda interesting because it keeps them on their toes.

Starting to think dragon ball fan’s are putting some sort of expectation on Naruto that’s just… never going to be fullfilled
Dragon ball has ling training montages to show you how goku and his friends grow more powerful
Naruto skips all that, and it breaks their brains so instead of thinking ‘oh it’s all skipped’ they just fill in the blanks with what they want
Which is dumb because they nit pick the information we do have to make someone like jiraiya look like a good sensei, and someone like kakashi look like the worst sensei ever.
To the point that some if them are acting like Itschi would be a better sensei than Kakashi, which is funny to me because we see someone actively desperately ask Itachi for training
And Itachi only ever pushes him away without explanation

Also in the case of Jiraiya, did everyone forget that he was making Naruto say goodbye to everyone, eat his last ramen and that he threw him off a fucking cliff? Obviously the sensei that everyone would like to have...
Jiraiya did so much that makes him a grade a crap sensei and people still treat him like he’s amazing
‘Oh he trained five kage tier shinobi’
They were strong despite him, not because of him
Naruto had multiple sensei’s/masters who helped him get where he is
Minato was a genius
Yahiko died young i do not know why people treat him like he’s a kage tier shinobi when it’s nagato using his body that’s strong
Jiraiya didn’t teach nagato anything to help his skills
And Konan deserved better than the creepy things he said to her

'no one complains about kurenai and asuma doing the same because apparently being born to a clan makes their students special and immediately ready' FACTS, some even said "they have their families so it's not their sensei's problem, instead Kakashi should have focused on his entire team since unlike the rest they are alone and they don't have their families to help them", like they justify the rest but with Kakashi they wanted magic..
Hfjcjxjsjd excuse??? That’s such bad they actually expect Kakashi to do MORE than other sensei’s (in this case kurenai and asuma. Gai only has one clan kid and he had to work to get where he was) because his students either weren’t born into special clans (sakura) or lost their families (Sasuke and Sakura)
That’s dumb
Kakashi is the same as any other sensei
He is there to guide and help. Training them in skills, but not specifically jutsu’s. We don’t know of any sensei who specificlly teaches jutsu’s except in certain cases
Gai can only pass off his skills to lee. He teaches Tenten and Neji mostly through support, sparing, and guidence.
Minato doesn’t pass on any of his skills to any of his students. Kakashi is the only one who knows rasangan, and even then we don’t know if Minato actually actively taught it to him. If he did, does that mean he has an obvious preference for kakashi?
Hiruzen’s students share non of his abilities at all.
A sensei’s job has never been to pass on their skills to their students yet people continue to insist Kakashi do that with his students while no other sensei is held to that standard
What bs

Speaking of sensei, yesterday I saw how overrated the fandom has Minato since in a poll of "who would you like to have as a sensei" Minato won with 38%, Tobirama second, Jiraiya third and last with 10% was Kakashi. The funny thing is that with Minato they said characteristics about him (he's cute, intelligent) but with Kakashi they said "he's probably leaving you for an emo", "he's lazy", "he's only going to train you if he sees something special in you". I'm really surprised by the result (and even more seeing the other options), I didn't know they loved Minato and Tobirama that much, also I like them but it seems crazy to me to choose them over Kakashi and it bothers me how much they underestimate him
Well, since Minato and Tobirama are never actually shown scting as sensei’s (we see Minato in one canon roll as sensei, and it’s on a mission where Kakashi is now a jonin) people can act like they’re the best because there’s nothing in canon to prove them wrong
Kakashi is flawed
We see Kakashi having to make choices, not always the correct one, and his team falling apart (which isn’t his fault but people blame him for it anyways) so people can act like he’s the worst
But the jiraiya being s good sensei is such jiraiya bs and that fanboy mentality bleeds so much into minato and tobirama too
Like jiraiya was straight up gross to naruto. Steal from him, told him to stay in his sexy no jutsu form, never was actually shown training him, and people will STILL act like he’s some great sensei
If’s ridiculous. If anything jiraiya should be at the bottom of the list
Kakashi may ‘choose an emo’ (what bs but i digress) but at least he won’t steal my money for women and booze
And at least he never looked his student in the eye and flat out told them to stop using/working on a jutsu they created (minato) or chose his successor as hokage in the battle field without input from anyone else (tobirama)

If Kakashi had more time to train Sakura, Naruto, and Sasuke, what would you have liked to see? Any jutsu’s he has you’d like them to learn?
I always love the idea of Sakura having an earth nature and learning the various earth style jutsu’s Kakashi has.

I really hope there’s not people legit out there acting like Tsunade can’t use or teach Genjutsu, because that’s just incredably stupid.
Woman has one of the highest stat totals out there. Her stats are higher than her sensei’s, and well rounded.
Even if she can’t do perfect genjutsu, she knows it. It’s just not her fighting style hence why we don’t see her use it.
We never see orochimaru or jiraiya use genjutsu, but no one would doubt their capabilities to use it

It’s so weird that people want to paint Kakashi as this terrible sensei because of the chunin exam’s when
1) if he did what people wanted and made his students wait a year, people would complain about a slow moving story
2) no one complains about kurenai and asuma doing the same because apparently being born to a clan makes their students special and immediately ready even though many of them got their butts handed to them.
3) a lot of the things that went wrong in the exam’s Kakashi could not have accounted for. A jinchuriki was not supposed to be there. A SANNIN was not supposed to be there.
Even if Kakashi had held his students back and everything happened at the next years chunin exam’s instead, it would have gone down exactly the same
Orochimaru still would have bodied sasuke and Naruto
Sakura still would have been fighting 3 v 1 to protect her teammates
Sure team seven would have had more training and maybe some more jutsu, but that would have done next to nothing to help them against the odd’s of a chunin exam’s that was rigged against them from the start

Hi, today they were debating that Kakashi was a bad sensei for Sakura (without counting Naruto and Sasuke) and some points they gave were these:
- he sent her to exams where every year there were several deaths...what a "responsible" sensei
- There was time to train her because the other teams were somewhat better prepared, but Don Punctuality arrived several hours late to all the team meetings. Sakura could learn to release genjutsu in less than a day and the same with climbing trees, if he had dedicated some time to her she would have been able to do something
- Not being able to fight Kin Tsuchi (the sound ninja who pulled her hair) is a sign of a bad teacher and in shippuden she had to be saved because she was facing pure Kage level ninja, but in classic Naruto except for Orochimaru she needed help with pure useless ninja. One thing is to be the weakest of the most broken team in the world (in shippuden) and another very different is to be the weakest ninja in the world, outside of the civilians who can't fight there is absolutely no one weaker than little Sakura, at least not in the canon.
- Tsunade was never seen to cast a genjutsu, it's very likely that she didn't know how (and that's why she didn't teach her that) but Kakashi did know and could use genjutsus...what's his excuse?
I hate debating but I wanted to know what you thought about all that since many of them left me blank and wouldn't know what to say
Ok wow these are all such trash explanations XD
- sent her to the exams where every year there were several deaths. There’s no proof of this? There’s a risk of dying, yes, but there’s no proof that people die every year. Also, ultimately the choice was up to Sakura. Kakashi gave all of team seven the choice, so while he entered them if any of them had said they weren’t ready, he would have pulled the whole team. Do they just, ignore that part?
- ‘there was time to train her’ (aka he was always late and missed training time). True, but this is also time the kids could have trained themselves and honed their skills and we only ever see them standing around waiting for Kakashi. They could have also used that time to hone the skills they had, practice what he’d already taught them, etc. They didn’t *shrug*
- not being able to fight kin or the ‘nobodies’ is a sign of weakness? Well gosh, i guess Lee wasn’t prepared either because even though he flattened Sasuke, that team of three sound ninja flattened him. Also, why is anyone acting like it was just sakura vs kin? It was a three vs one scenario because Sasuke and Naruto were unconscious. Lee tried to help but ended up getting flatted as well. They only all got away because team gai and team ten showed up to help, tipping the scales in their favour. No matter how welp kakashi trained sakura, she was in a losing position. Lee had a years worth of training over her and got best
- anyone saying tsunade wouldn’t know how to cast a genjutsu can f*** right off. Girl has high ststes in all area’s, including genjutsu. It’s not her main focus, but you bet your ass she knows how to deal with/use genutsu. Kakashi’s excuse is the story. He only got to teach her the ki release before everything went to shit. He was never given a chance/time to teach after the waves arc
None of these arguments make sense and come from desperate pathetic fan’s who just want to paint Kakashi as a bad sensei instead of paying any attention to the story and understanding that while he is flawed, a lot of the problems that were faced in the chunin exam’s were things he could not have accounted for. Experimently enhanced shinobi (sound nin) a jinchurriki (gaara) and a sannin (orochimaru) were not the standard issues for a genin in the chunin exam’s to face.
Even a team much better preppared like team gai got their asses handed to them.
Also, let’s not pretend choji or Hinata were actually resdy for the exam’s while Sakura wasn’t. Choji made a stupid call and blew his battle (and it was probably a stupid ‘haha’ moment kishi wanted that just fell flat) and Hinata only succeded in a team aspect
Had Hinata or choji been put into the same position as sakura against the sound nin, they would have gotten their asses kicked too
As would kiba and ino tbh, as ino only truly succeded because she had her teams backing. Something Sakura did not have since her teammates were unconscious

Do you think after Wave mission Kakashi got nightmare about Rin again? Then he spent the whole night washing his hands and that made him late for Team 7 training and then he as usual lied about why he was being late?
I mean, i think why he’s late is the same as always. He was visiting the grave sight because his guilt was stronger than ever after reliving that moment through Haku’s sacrifice.
He lies because it’s easier to say something dumb like ‘i got lost on the path of life’ and act like he’s just being lazy and irresponsible like kid Obito, than it is to admit he is struggling and losing track of time at the graveyard talking to ghosts
I do think there was some fresh nightmares, and Haku is a new face in those nightmares (like the image of who he’s killing with his Chidori flickering between Rin and Haku), but the reason he’s late doesn’t change
When he can’t sleep he goes to the graveyard to chat with Rin or Obito, and while there he loses track of time until it’s suddenly 11am and he’s 2-3 hours late for training with his students

Gai thinking that his rivalry with Kakashi would end when he became hokage is funny in retrospect, because he thinks Kakashi will be too budy
But in reality Kakashi NEEDS their rivalry even more as Hokage because he’s bored out of his mind
Man needs nurishment
Enrichment
Give him a challenge and race him around the village
It’s good for his health and everyone else’s sanity XD
