Okay, so. Yes, Jeff made this wrong choice and I'm not trying to argue it's right, but out of all the characters to harp on for the morally wrong/stupid choice, I find him an odd pick. If we take into account the time period on which he was raised, and his stay at home wife who has a bunch of trauma, he feels like he can't ask for help. I have known multiple people who were raised in that time period who are men, and have cited the way men's emotions (sadness, depression, sensitivity) were treated, as the cause of feeling unable to ask for help. + Having no other source of income, meaning that if the business goes down, he can no longer give his family the domestic suburban life that he's expected to provide. Again, not right, but there is an explanation as to why he did it. He felt he had no other choice, whether or not that was true.

Yes, they are in a marriage where they're sexually frustrated and struggling with communicating. That's a plot point. I know I didn't make it clear in my post about this, but I think there's a difference between struggling in a relationship and not accepting the other person in the relationship. She admits to murdering the person she cheated on him for months with, and yeah, he freaks out. He's scared, like he has the right to be, knowing what she's capable of. But instead of saying "Fuck it, you did this to yourself Shauna.", like he should have, he says "I'm not going to let you go down for this, I'll confess to the murder." So, okay, he says the weird lube comment. But he literally offered to turn himself in her place for her and their daughter despite having literally no expectation or requirement to do so. He even has reasons to let her lay in the bed she made.

He didn't have to stay married, or have a kid with her. Jeff could have divorced her as soon as he learned what went on. But he stayed because he did love Shauna, because he wanted to love her. Yeah they had sexual problems, but what relationship doesn't? Jeff shared his sexual fantasies, she laughed, it was weird. They tried and it was nice. Did Shauna ever explicitly tell him what she wanted? Did she put herself out there farther than the lube comment? I don't recall her doing so. ...I fear he's not a black and white character and can be as complex as everybody else in the main cast. To harp on a side character for not being sexually open enough/not being the greatest guy/being a distant husband, in a show where there's cannibalism, cults, curses, family crime, active murder, blackmail and dog decapitation, plus so much more, is insane to me.

TDLR: He's not an awesome person, not even good really...but he tries to be honorable and loyal to those he loves, even if it doesn't work or he doesn't succeed. That's something in a show like this. Jeff also has a current kill count that is lower than a majority of the main cast (cough his wife Shauna cough). So my main point still stands.

I'm sorry? But why do people hate Jeff? What? My man knows everything that went down in the wilderness, more than we currently even know. He accepts Shauna for who she is, or was and what she did out there. He loves his daughter. He defends Shauna against Jackie's parents. He tries to help and be enough for his family even if it's not a morally correct choice. But are any of the others morally correct? What, he's horrible because he's a man? Or because he got in the way of jackieshauna? Sighing bc give me a valid reason for why you hate him or get out.

Ok, so there is a scene in my head and I could never finish imaging. This is the backstory of the scene (It happened in s6, when Ian and Caleb were still in relationship):

One day Ian was invited by Caleb to a morden art show with his sculpture work on exhibition. Ian was actually not a fan of this kind of art so at some point he sneaked out and found another show on display in the same building. Before he casually walked in, Ian didn't realized the show is about an art therapy project for prisoners, until he saw that one piece of art that immediately caught his eyes. He knew who did this one, he knew the artist, it's him. When he looked at the label underneath the painting, it said Mikhailo Aleksandr Milkovich.

The scene in my mind is when Ian looking at this painting, with his back to us.

And what keeps me from finishing the scene in my head, is the content of the painting. What is in this painting? I could never decide…

I don’t think that AUs where Anya keeps the baby are bad. I think they’re unrealistic given the context of the story and the fact that they are stranded in outer space (and without medical supplies). Realistically, even if she had survived her suicide attempt, the stress of being stranded on the Tuplar most likely would have caused her to miscarry. That being said, in the context of Anya’s character I don’t think it’s an unreasonable assumption. She is shown as a kind, playful, compassionate character when we see her from Curly’s POV and it’s not unreasonable to assume that in different circumstances she may have wanted to have the child. I feel like the decision could have gone either way, given what we know about her. While most people agree she would have terminated the pregnancy, and while that is a valid interpretation, I feel as though the fandom at large is refusing to acknowledge the nuance of the situation. that’s not to say that every AU where Anya keeps the baby is masterfully written, however, having the only acceptable happy ending AU be one were Anya gets an abortion misses the point of her character entirely. When Jimmy assaults Anya, he removes her agency completely. I find this ironic in the sense that the majority of the fan base has decided that the only way Anya could truly be happy is to not have the baby. To me this seems like just another way agency is stripped from her. I feel like the fandom ignores that aspect in favor of chewing our people with differing views on Anya’s assault and the resulting pregnancy. As an assault victim myself who was in a similar situation to Anya, it saddens me to see that people are sticking to this one dimensional idea of what Anya’s happiness should look like. Anyways, I would love to hear Tumblr’s thoughts on the matter as opposed to Twitter’s. I would just like to have an open discussion about this without a slew of harassment following…

Cómo en todas las aplicaciones obviamente hay diferentes opiniones, pero yo he visto personas dándonos la bienvenida, por lo que me explicaron los de Tumblr y Twitter tienen historia puesto que son dos personalidades completamente opuestas, aquí no soportan el odio por odiar, cosa que sucede seguido en Twitter, entonces me imagino algunas personas sólo no quieren que no respetemos a su comunidad y vengamos a causar problemas, una reacción normal si lo piensas.

Pero he visto muchas personas dándonos la bienvenida, sólo nos piden que respetemos sus reglas y nos dan avisos de cosas que podemos hacer y cosas que no, es cuestión de adaptarse a una nueva comunidad paso a paso.

Thoughts on Hooky-Marionetta. Some spoilers!

I know it probaly won't happen, but I would love to see the characters from Hooky interact with the characters from Marionetta. There are so many possibilities, but the ones I'd enjoy the most are:

Since Dani and Nico are spreading the word and building new bridges between people and witches, I'd love to see them interact with the members of the circus during this time in the story, but I'd especially like to see them interact with Sahed, Rainah and Julia.

I'd also be curious to see Dorian and Sahed interact, since, if I can recall correctly, Dorian had a lot of inner conflict about how he felt about non-magic users, and he had a lot of trouble making friends outside the people from home, which reminds me a little of Sahed in this way. Things weren't so black and white in regards to racial relations in Hooky, both did terrible things and sought revenge against the other, perpetuating a loop of voilence. I t's been a while since I read the series, but I'm making my way back through. Anyway, this is just all to say I remember it being really hard on Dorian to realize that yes, there are terrible non-magic users, but there are also terrible witches, and you really have to judge each person individually and not hold them accountable for the sins of others. You catch more flies with honey than with vinagar, so to say. Maybe knowing Dorian was coming from a somewhat similar place would help Sahed learn how to convince the other circus members to see the plight of his people.

I would love for Julia to get to talk to Monica and Will. I think there's a lot they could share with her that would help. Monica had prejudice against the witches initially, and she overcame it, even becoming a witch herself. Will grew up with suffocating expectations and sense of duty, both to his father and kingdom. They both know what expecting an arranged marriage is like. They know what it's like to fall in love with someone who would be very difficult to be with due to the social tensions and wars being fought between their races.

On a lighter topic, I think Monica would totally get into the shipping! I remember her trying to be her friends wing-woman, and her advice always seemed to fall flat, if not cause disaster (the love potion, telling Nico to button his shirt). She would definitely get into all kinds of romantic high jinks. Her and William's marriage situation also might give Julia a heart attack.

I'll bet Kamille would love to go adventuring with Mark and Aisha.

These are just my personal thoughts and opinions. These are just a few that have crossed my mind. There would be lighter interactions too, I think, but these are the ones that my brain has been latching onto. I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's if they felt like sharing!

I’m confused on why you phrased this as though those are two contradicting statements, but whatever.

And yes, I am mad that half the fandom see the Demi-gods (including Marika/Radagon) as evil just for the sake of being evil because none of them are. Malenia nuked Caelid to further her brothers plans because she loved and trusted him. Ranni slayed Godwyn to be free of her Two Fingers in the hopes that later on she could banish the Greater Wills influence from the Lands Between permanently. Miquella brainwashed Mogh and Radahn (and sacrificed many other people) to achieve godhood and bring opon what he thought would be a kinder age for everyone. Etc etc. NONE of them are good people of course, but they are still morally complex characters and we should treat them as such.

And the “Ranni would stab you in the back” is just wrong? Ranni is never an antagonist to the player, even if you are on the side of the Golden Order. Ranni slayed Godwyn out of necessity. She had to, to kill her mortal flesh. Godwyn was the best choice to do this because he would’ve been her greatest obstacle, a Demi-god loyal to the Golden Order. She never once tries to fight the player no matter what route you take.

New helluva short just dropped and I have to say it was absolutely hilarious. Suprisingly its probably one of the most positive experiences i have recently had with helluva boss. Short, simple, and funny. The second season is full of plot and romance drama, and while i dont particulary mind this content i wish the show had more going for it. Like disscussion about hierarchy in hell or IMP having law troubles cause of illegal use of grimouir, or just the assasination bussines. So i am glad for these shorts because they are exactly what the show premise was about. Sheanigans while doing the job. And this one was perfect for me. First i love Blitz, so i am always glad to see him. He is so goofy here. I like how he is animated as well, cute sneaky little lizard. His short song about kills, him being absolutely done with the target, and the "stab, stab, stab" part. Its such an absurd, i love it. Its similiar to how he was at the beginnig when he was portrayed as a clown. And i love all his trauma, but i feel like his personality recently got less vibrant, so its good to see it again. Also his talk with Milly is just such a nice detail? It makes me think he sometimes goes with Mox to see musicals despite being really uninterested in them, and being there just because he tries to be a good friend? Like thats so sweet. And portrays character development. And Millie being kind of done with musicals too is also really funny. Its like her and Blitz are bonding. Least but not last we have the monster fucker. I think its safe to say it was inspired by real fandom. The fanfics one can find... they can get absolutely insane. Obviously the character is a parody and not a literal representation but i think it managed the vibe really well. It made me laugh a lot.

So yea, really liked the short. It pains me to say it but i think it may be my favourite part of the whole 2nd season...

A bit of a hot take; I hope if Frida gets introduced properly with an official name, it will be something other than Frida?

I hope so because I feel like it would characterize her life (assumably) being raised by Big Mama a bit more, since her design tastes as we see through her hotel’s decor leans a lot towards old money art deco motifs combined with gothic architecture. I feel like Frida Kahlo’s primitivism and surrealism would be a bit out of character? Or at least a missed opportunity for some characterization.

(Okay maybe it’s not quite gothic but idc, let me speak-)

See here all the difference between Big Mama’s taste and Frida Kahlo’s paintings, I’m not saying she wouldn’t like her work, I just think that if Big Mama designs all her estates with such a clear creative vision & what seems to be her own personal tastes (*cough cough* old money ass fashion sense *cough cough*) I feel like she’d be more knowledgeable and/or more partial to a different area of the art world for Kahlo to be enough of her favorite to name her personal assistant/maybe I hope surrogate daughter after her?

I like to think if Big Mama named her after some artists she personally liked, I think she might lean more towards artists from the art deco scene like Tamara de Lempicka, or Sonia Delaunay.

Or maybe gothic architects could give her a name truer to the hidden city and battle nexus architecture that she’d’ve been surrounded by her whole life. All those gargoyles and sprawling jagged designs once you push past the illusion of Big Mama’s normal hotel front make such a dichotomy! Julia Morgan (the lady who designed California’s Hearst Castle which, “mixes Spanish Colonial, Gothic, Neo-Classical and Mediterranean Revival style all in one property.” I think that would be such a good combination of styles to reference with Big Mama’s choice on what to name this person omg) and Odile Decq are such pretty names!!

I love Odile Decq’s personal style and work on one particular building sm, the Phantom Restaurant of the Garnier Opera.

LIKE OMG THAT JUST SCREEAAAMMMS BIG MAMA, she would absolutely name a girl after the lady who’d design that and you cannot convince me otherwise. And Odile would fit in with “Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael” so well omg. And look at this woman, look at her style, she NEEDS a ninja turtle named after her omg.

And finally, a bit controversial but I never really liked the name Frida in the first place?

Don’t get me wrong, her work is legendarily meaningful and skillful. It’s just that in recent years, she’s been packaged and sold as this “girlboss feminist icon” because of her suffering, and because of that, her image in pop culture has kind of been watered down to the point where it feels like if they were to name her Frida, i’d think like, all the thought that went into it would be, “okay she’s a girl, what girl painters do we know?” Which (although well intentioned-) kinda feels like reverting back to stereotyping her as “the girl one” even though that’s what they were trying to avoid by not naming her Venus? If that makes sense? So I’m glad her name isn’t concrete yet lol.

And OMG I WANT HER NAME TO BE ODILE SO BAD NOW YOU DONT EVEN KNOW💖✨💝‼️✨ I only found her work literally as I was typing this but I just love that building and how much Big Mama would absolutely love that building, she needs to be named Odile, look at her face, that’s an Odile face <3

Call in for the fan fic community, Let’s talk.

I wanted to start writing on here because a lot of the writing that I read on here was really inspiring! But then some of yall were just….😭 a lot of you guys (specifically white writers) never actually make your stories for everyone and act like the only people who exist are women with pale skin enough to blush and hair straight and long enough to rake behind their ear. And don’t get me started on the over use of the drug dealer x black reader trope. I think it’s so problematic why is that the only prompt that’s popular in the black fanfic community? Like damn.

for some reason speaking about how you’re against stories romantizing rape is “controversial” and “dramatic” but talking about how you watched a porn video that mimicked someone getting raped is something that’s relatable and socially acceptable? Idk abt that. Also the FULLY grown (I mean like literally pushing 30’s 40’s 50’s) authors that get incredibly defensive whenever someone even alludes to the fact that it’s unusual for a grown woman to be writing about characters that are minors or even bringing up the fact that the “minors dni” tags when the character they’re writing smut about is a minor don’t really make sense. (I’ll go more into this if someone asks). A lot of writers treat sexual assault as something that can pass as a kink and i think it’s harmful in many different ways. Now, I’m fully aware of the spectrum that non-con is but I’m talking about the more extreme side. the reason why these stories that go in depth about raping a character or a character performing acts of sexual assault are harmful because I feel like it desensitizes the readers and causes a shift in their moral compass. For example, if a man constantly watches porn of 2 🌽⭐️ acting like one of them is being raped, over time he’s going to start thinking that stuff is normal and might become a potential danger. It’s the same with the constant consumption of smut stories with a recurring theme of rape and or abuse. I already know people are going to bring up the fact that it’s not real and it’s just a story and yes you’re correct, it isn’t real, but SA and abuse are.

Before I end this I just wanna say don’t come commenting mad aggressive because you disagree with me. Like I said, before getting defensive, think about what you’re defending. I am like 1000% open to a discussion cause that’s how getting people to hear you works. Thanks for reading all the way if you did
