Have you read anything lately, fanfic or published? a light novel series called hakata tonkotsu ramens (it has anime too), and for fic I'm reading The Fine Art of Falling You by Shamelessquestions (now on ch 14)

Are you doing anything fun this year you’re looking forward to? I planned to attend another interview in other city in may. hired or not, I'm gonna take a trip there.

What is your favorite type of weather? sunny but not too sunny, dry but not too dry, with fresh air.

Do you have a favorite word? I have a weird obsession with the word "gnocchi", it's not like that I love the food that much, just like the pronunciation. And I love use the word 歇斯底里 while writing fics, which is actually from the word hysteria, means someone lash out/has an outburst.

Do you make playlists for music? If so, do you have a favorite one? yes, no, they're all for different moods and activities, some of them are for fics!

Do you have a favorite trope to read? friends with benefits to lovers… and enemies to lovers (and actually enemies with benefits, which is super rare lol)

Hi Face! As you know Ian and Mickey just celebrated their 5 year anniversary, what did they do for their special dinner? Did they cook or go out?

Hi Sarah! Thank you for the ask and sorry for late again (eh he), but don’t get me wrong I love answering asks!! I just erm…hesitated about words as usual haha…

I think after 5 years of ramen-in-microwave-ding-and-all-good—ok maybe a little too exaggerated but—they’ll finally try to cook and find their fun in cooking for the other and with each other!

1k+ words yapping and some doodle (with the whole menu!) below...

So, I’d say for the big day they cook, and it’s Ian who first suggested they should cook themselves instead of going out this year, while Mickey showed no interest in it at first. He tried to push his husband one more time but Mickey just complained about why not just eat out and saving some time for the after-dinner activities, which got Ian a bit frustrated. But on the anniversary day morning Ian found him in the doorway, fully dressed, before being asked, waiting for him with a lame excuse like “someone gotta keep an eye on you to prevent you from buying those expensive as fuck organic shits”, and Ian’s like “omg we only went to whole food market once and that was 4 years ago!” but actually felt very happy about the fact husband’s not all against his cooking idea.

Instead of going to supermarket as they usually do, they went to a market this time, because Ian was serious about “cook themselves”, he doesn’t want to buy some pre-prepared and frozen food, he wants to do them step by step with his husband in their kitchen. Ian told his husband he didn’t have exact plan about what to cook, even though he actually put every terms—anniversary romantic fancy couple dinner ideas for two at home recipe 3 5 full courses easy cook together—in the search bar, also called Fiona, Lip, Mandy and even fucking Debbie for the ideas, and already vaguely had a menu in his mind, because now that Mickey was with his plan too he wanted to know what his husband wants and likes.

Of course Mickey will whine about those caterpillar on the vegetables and those birds who stole bites from vegetables, and Ian would tell him that means those are fresh. And of course he will make jokes about Ian with carrots and oranges, and insisted to pick them himself ‘cause ”he knows the best which one will taste good”. He also didn’t miss those stick-shaped vegetables and ended up buying a cucumber that both of them didn’t plan to use. In my mind, Mickey isn’t a picky eater but he definitely doesn’t care about vegetables (and appetizers) as much as Ian do, so the appetizer/salad part is for Ian to decide. He let Mickey decided the main dish though, because he know his husband’s love for steaks. And Mickey just took the thickest two (he weighed the price too! He’d do that! And he’s hesitated on that tomahawk steak too cause the name’s cool and it looks cool too) and thought people would be dumb to pay more for less meat.

Then they met this grandma who was selling the handmade products. Ian brought up that a full course contains cheeses with biscuits, and Mickey said they don’t need those fancy shit also she probably won’t sell to gay people like the one in the flower shop (yes he still remember her even after 5 years). And you know Ian just made that face when his husband said things like that and dragged him to have a try. It turned out those things are actually good and the grandma’s kind. Ian asked her about the cheese, pickles, jam and wine, telling her how much they like them, talking to her about their anniversary and the dinner plan while Mickey muttered under his breath that she doesn’t need to know that much (he felt a little proud from inside too tho). At last Ian only took a jar of jam that both him and Mickey likes, considering their budget.

As for the dessert, Ian said he has a surprise for Mickey and asked his husband to wait for him there. He went for the fruits and bought all the fruit Mickey likes, gelatin and whip cream for his handmade Jell-O. When he rushed back to his husband, he found Mickey already got them some street food for lunch, as always. Never letting him on an empty stomach, that’s how Mickey showed his care and love, even before they got married and especially after they got married. Ian trotted to him and take his food, looking him lovingly until Mickey said “what”. And he had to kill the sweet moment a little by nagging “don’t get too full we have a big dinner to eat!”. Thanks to the ton of food they bought, he didn’t notice his husband added a new paper bag in and swiftly hid it to somewhere when he was making dessert in advance in the kitchen.

Well finally here comes the cooking part. In their not so big kitchen, lots of bumps, nudges, naggings, jokes, laughs, with some roastings, odd-shaped veg chops, sprinkled sauce, stained clothes, wrong steps, miscalculated ingredients, lost causes, kicks on calf, ass slaps and kiss, also a little of blood that immediately be treated with former EMT but his tongue and lips, one time lift-up on the counters with amount of making out interrupted the smell of something burnt, and one failed attempt to dance together.  I’m pretty sure Mickey chose the background music list, with all the songs they can sing together. And for the steak part Mickey was in charge first, but after seeing those pink meat that can still bite them back Ian decided to take the charge to prevent them from food poison. And Mickey cooked the side dish — mashed potato all by himself since he fought so hard for the custody of that potato masher 4 years ago. For Ian’s he put mashed carrot on top and at the bottom, then sneaked two peas and one finger carrot from freezer to finish a mini potato firecrotch.

After finishing everything, they changed into clean and cozy clothes (another benefit for eating at home), Ian would light up some candles and regretted a little about didn’t get any flowers (yes that’s him), while Mickey setting up the table (he knows nothing about what to put where but thankfully they only got a few utensils and even fewer ones in pairs). And no one cared about the orders of those courses, they just put everything but dessert on the table. With the music changed to Ian’s soft and romantic song lists, they sat down and Ian just kept stealing glances at Mickey until his husband said “omg just say it out” with the smile he couldn’t hide.

“Just thinking about how much I love this man.”

“Yeah, you said that last year, and the year before, every year.”

”Because that’s what I’ve been thinking of!” Ian argued, “and I hate that we are sitting at opposite ends of the table, can’t kiss you now.”

“This position’s perfect for footsex tho.”

“I’m pretty sure the word is footsie.”

“Same thing to me.”

The foods are good, not taste as good as in the restaurant but how could anything be better than husband-made food? What restaurant would add barbecue sauce aside steak before it is set on table? (“Told that dumbass waiter last year barbecue sauce won’t ruin a good steak.” “Hmm he should try this before saying that.” “Fuck off he ain’t get shit.”) What restaurant would make Mickey Milkovich to have more salad? (“Holy shit that’s so good how did you make this sauce?” ”With love. And mayo...” ”STOP RIGHT HERE.”) And what restaurant would make mini potato firecrotch? (“I think you should eat potato me.*wink*” “No. It’s all yours, I’ll eat mine later.*wink back*”)

They finished most of food with all the small talks (and footsies). Ian was going to kitchen to take his secret surprise for his husband when he found Mickey was on the same way with him. He watched him standing on tiptoe to open the top cupboard and taking a paper bag out while taking out his homemade jello. When he started to put whipped cream and berries on top, Mickey took out the cheese and wine Ian seemed really like but they didn’t buy due to the budget. Ian looked at him, stunned, tears welling up in eyes.

“Shouldn’t this thing be put on a chopping board with errm… biscuits or something?” Mickey asked casually, and the next moment he was hugged tightly by his partner.

“You bought these when you waiting for me?” Asked softly and wetly.

“Yeah, you seemed like them much.” Kiss.

“I like them too.” Kiss.

“and I like you much too.” Grin.

“I think we don’t need the cheese now since you’re cheesy enough…” Eye rolled.

“Eat your fucking cheese and wine and then let me eat my jell-o. I’ve been thinking about it all night. You are really bad at hiding. In the fridge? Really?”

“They are supposed to be put there!”…

And guess where those remained whipped cream goes at last...

Theme 43: The Alibi Room

I'm so excited to announce that after 4 days in development, the game The Alibi Room will soon be officially available!

The game follows a bartender, Kev, who is the owner of the bar The Alibi Room, which located in the southside of Chicago. The plot is experienced over the course of 10 years (until the bar is sold), with various characters visit the bar from time to time and cause their own drama. its gameplay consists mostly of reading dialogue. This dialogue is periodically broken up by a minigame in which the player make various drinks(or snacks) by using the ingredients (which will be changed a little for each different years) in the bar (be careful, different drinks might lead to the different endings!).

After the last event "Happy anniversary!" is finished, the endless mode will be unlocked and you can design your own drinks for all the characters in game!

This game is mainly inspired by Coffee Talk and Red String Club, and Kevin Ball, the real owner of the bar who offered me the stories.

Are you sick right now with a cold, flu or other non-life-threatening but deeply obnoxious illness: no, but I caught a flu last month.

When you’re sick are you a get-up-and-just-work-through-it kinda person or a lie-in-bed-and-moan-loudly-and-not-move kinda person? normally the former, but I don't dare to do anything vigorous, and I don't dare to think too hard and too much when my temperature gets too high.

What’s your ultimate comfort drink when you’re under the weather: some noddle soup… and orange juice?

Are there any superstitions or things you do that you believe will make you get better faster? eat fruit (citrus especially) and increase water intake…?

Do you take vitamin C or any other herbal remedies or do you think that’s all non-scientific nonsense? I believe vc is good for me (that's one of the reasons why I drink oj and eat fruits), not so sure about herbal remedies, but herbal medicines are really common here so I won't resist to take them… at least they can help me drink more water. ohhhh and if I cough or have sore throat then I'll have this herbal syrup called nin jiom pei pa koa (念慈菴川貝枇杷膏), it's quite helpful!

When you were young and got to stay home from school what was your favourite show to watch (or thing to do whatever)? I don't have a single memory of watching shows while calling in sick at home… but I rewatched all the lego dc movies while I got covid😂

Is there a secret favourite part you have to being sick? erm, my brain will get me much stranger thoughts while having a fever, but I prefer not be sick!

Worst part about being sick: feeling sick🤢 worst symptom ever…

Who do you think would be the worst patient? Ian or Mickey? as a therapist, I'd say Mickey could be a troublesome client… for the other worst, I'm with most of you. Also I think different from the don't-care-much-about-physical-sickness Ian who's stubborn front everyone, Mickey only show that needy side front Ian (and if anyone alse finds out he's acting like that he'll just be like "the fuck you lookin at? have any problems?"), if he's with others he'll just act like Ian...
