Technically unfinished but it's complete enough.
For context in the AU, Kokushibo left because he felt Muzan made a poor deal. He had to spend so much time tending to him that he didn't have time to further develop his skills like he wanted. He would rather leave and risk death by slayers to have time to himself, so he did. He said he saw Yoriichi in town, and just left the day after.
Ofc he was proper and helpful to Muzan, since he considered it no different from working with other superiors in the past. The information and advice given to Muzan were professional obligations more than acts done out of genuine respect and devotion. In Muzan's eyes however, his skills and information were greater than any employee he'd previously had, so he assumed he was completely loyal based on how he was with him.
Also! Koku is not seeing a ghost, rather he has ideas of what Yoriichi thinks and acts like, which serve as a second opinion. He's mostly just visualizing what he imagines Yoriichi would do or tell him to do. Part of why he hunts down Yoriichi after running away is because he believes, even in some small insignificant way, that he will understand. If not, folly on his part, he will simply pass with the regrets when Yoriichi cuts him down. Luckily he does get to stay with him again, and the rest is history.

An ancient gene is crucial for the development of the distinctive waist that divides the spider body plan in two, according to a study published August 29 in the open-access journal PLOS Biology by Emily Setton from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, US, and colleagues. The spider body is divided into two sections, separated by a narrow waist. Compared to insects and crustaceans, relatively little is known about embryonic development in spiders, and the genes involved in the formation of the spider waist are poorly understood.

Cryptid Research 5
Tumblr media
Research Log 5:
Location: Erawan Natl. Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติเอราวัณ), Thailand
Subject Discovery:
Subject discovered in response to unintentional discovery of a hunting trap set. Subject displayed acute aggression over the disruption and subsequent disassembly of said trap.
Observations:
Subject 'Lawan' was discovered upon investigation into the Erawan National park, on testimony about a monstrous woman who attacked those who got close.
'Lawan' upon meeting, could be observed as being derived from Theraphosidae Family, specifically Cyriopagopus lividus. Derivative of their non-sapien counterparts, both the exoskeleton and urticating hairs show to be iridescent blue. Such characteristics extend up towards the portion of the body that more closely resembles Homo sapiens.
Subject's method of hunting, in relation to her size, includes spinning a tunnel web in jungle corridors and waiting for pray to become trapped.
Silk produced by Subject, while still semi-transparent, offers a similarly blue iridescence upon contact with the air. Silk produced by Subject has been used in applications not related to predation, including textile manufacturing, sleeping accommodations, and aesthetic application.
Human-resembling section of Subject's anatomy lacks mammalian ability to produce non-uricating hair; supplementary use of silk has been used to create wigs of various styles.
Venom produced from primary fangs tested to be identical to C. lividus species proper. Secondary fangs are noted to be housed in mammalian-resembling section of anatomy. Secondary fang venom Sample sizable for testing unable to be collected; in-field injection of secondary venom exhibits aphrodisiac characteristics. (Test subject: Researcher)

My (could actually be canon) Miguel O'Hara Headcanon is...
Miguel is a huge fan of body horror movies. He has a bunch of holos of movies like The Thing, The Stuff, Slither, Tokyo Gore Police, Eraserhead etc. His favorite is The Fly (a movie he is canonically a fan of!) and anytime he tells anyone this they they give him a weird look until he rolls his eyes and admits that yes, he DOES in fact see the irony now.
Also, everyone is really creeped out that a guy who's job it is to muck around with human DNA is so fond of movies focused on horrifying things happening to the human body. Nobody wants to confront him about it though :P

been thinking lately 👀 ;
of the idea that miguel is not using his full strength? like if i were to put an arbitrary figure against it, let's say he uses about 70% of his full potential, on average? maybe less? for reasons that may revolve around, or relate to... him being not so keen to lean into the more spidery aspects of his messed up existence? because he, perhaps, still wants to approach things with a human perspective?
this is on my mind so much

Spider-Candace encounters the Impossible Man and is... notably unimpressed. She's only got room in her life for two guys with unusually shaped heads who regularly do the impossible, and frankly actual children who manage it with science and no (relevant) powers are far more impressive than an alien man-child who can just do it with a wave of his hand.
As you can imagine, Ol' Impy doesn't take that kind of immediate dismissal well.
