I suppose you'll notice the angst. But just keep this in mind: Ryan has been waiting for me- for millennia. In that time he's seen me taken by storms, the TVA, devils, plagues and disease. Note On Duplicate Song Titles: It's rare, but sometimes Knights will team up on a song. When that happens, the song will be listed under both of their names. How To Summon Demons

I bought this beautiful journal almost two years ago and haven’t wrote in it until today. Here is my first entry:

Originally, I was going to use this journal as a spell book but, I seldom cast any—maybe a song book but, I’ve tried that already.

All of my songs are typed out in my phone’s notes app because writing something down makes it real. Typing something keeps the “thing” at a distance and that’s where my songs belong—locked away in a phone; protected by a four digit password where no dark spirit can access it.

I’m scared that writing my songs in a journal will manifest the same demons that haunted me in my childhood home.

I recently watched Robert Egger’s “Nosferatu” which reminded me of a Nosferatu of my own. As I watched Count Orlock’s hand cast a shadow over the town of Wisborg, I was reminded of an almost identical shadowy hand that used to suffocate and molest me in my bed; that haunted my childhood home—house. a house that was filled with shame, fear, and anger.

When I was 15 years old, my Grandmother, a religious zealot, came to “bless” our home and exorcise it of the demons that possessed it. She claimed that there were three spirits; two of which were negative entities. One of those spirits resided in the corner of my room where my piano and of course, my song book were. She told me that the spirit fed off of negative emotions such as anxiety and depression—THE ONLY THINGS I WRITE ABOUT!

I stopped writing songs in journals; the demon(s) didn’t go away. I stopped believing in the Christian God and started practicing witchcraft; the demons started to disappear one by one.

In conclusion, her blessing and what she told me was likely bullshit. I’m still trying to unpack the religious trauma that was likely the true culprit of those “demonic manifestations”. I’m trying not to be afraid any more—of both writing songs in journals and ghosts. I think I’ve done a pretty good job at deconstructing over the years:

I read tarot, play with ouija boards (I even have a planchette tattooed on me), I worship Lilith (who is fucking awesome by the way), and I’m a member of The Satanic Temple.

Since moving out and deconstructing, I don’t see ghosts anymore which is honestly kind of lame…

I’m not sure what will come of this journal. Is it a spell book? A song book? a diary? A conglomeration of all three? I think I just need to let go and stop compartmentalizing my life.

Apparently, I can summon demons with fucking song lyrics! I guess my music was a spell after all.

Yo! I’m Wyze, an avid reader, writer, and many other things. Right now I’m focused on writing songs as well as a DnD journal from my character’s perspective. I have never actually completed writing a novel, usually because I jump to another project pretty quickly. I did finally figure out that that was probably ADHD which I now have meds for. Here’s hoping that this year more of my ideas get put on the page!

Patah's song Roses

Hello tumblr and Patah fans!

My new song Roses is out and it might just be my shortest song, it's a minute and 37 seconds I believe. It speaks of the desire to become something with defenses, thorns to protect oneself in the second verse and the first verse consists of wanting to blossom and stuff.

It's poetic and metaphorical like my song Crooked is. Although I would say Roses can be considered related to my song Cold because I made them around the same time, switching between projects and all. I will make a family tree of my songs one day and upload it on my youtube.

Raye is so valid! After winning the Ivor Novello award for Songwriter of the Year, Raye used her speech and platform to advocate for better payments for songwriters!

She's been saying this for years, as a very talented songwriter, Raye began working in the industry very young, and has been a pop writer for nearly a decade now. She's contributed to some major hits by known popstars like Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX, Madison Beer and Beyoncé. She's said this at every turn, more protections for songwriters, higher royalties to them, fairer compensation.

She said to the BBC here that unlike performers and stars who could find other sources of income based on their fame and popularity, like sponsorships, brand deals, or even performing and merch, all songwriters (who tend to remain in the fine print, if known at all outside of legal documents) have is the writing, and must be paid better.

Tom Hiddleston has four variants left here at the end of Time. Wisconsin Tom played bluegrass on a banjo before I found him this summer. Thomas was jailed in the Sanctum Infinitum, so I don't know how many songs he was able to write from there. (He was allowed to film Crimson Peak since it was one of his timelines before he was jailed. And no, he didn't die. There was no sister. We lived happily ever after!)

That leaves Star Tom. Star Tom is a heavenly angel. He doesn't live down here on earth where 63% of angels live. Instead he is up in the heavens, looking down on us.

Why? Because, as Aphrodite, I couldn't stand it when Adonis (a Tom Hiddleston variant) was killed. So I begged for his resurrection and an immortal life. And the Lord granted my request. Tom was resurrected and became an angel, watching me from heave.

It actually took me a bit to realize people commenting on my songs that I write have actually been through what I’ve been through and they relate to me and yeah that’s sad in way, but that lets me know that my music is not for nothing that my music has purpose and I use music to help heal. I just hope that it’s helping others heal too because I don’t want anyone to feel alone and they’re not. ❤️‍🩹
