dream is doing a weird thing where instead of just going after tommy, hes going after tommy and all of tommy's friends as one unit, to the point where he believes that pulling up receipts against jack is equivalent to pulling up receipts against tommy. and i think it has to do with how dream and his own friends function as one singular "dream team" who share their content and branding together, and hes assuming that tommy's friend group acts the same way with tommy as its head. except thats literally not the case. aside from occasional appearances from jack, most of the current standup comedy that tommy is doing is solo. his friends are just regular friends that he hangs out with. but its like dream cant comprehend the idea of having friends outside of content creation reasons, so hes attacking all of them (including aimsey who did nothing wrong) as part of tommy's "team", which is confusing the fuck out of everyone else because i dont think any of them has ever thought of tommy as their boss. in fact, im pretty sure tommy gets made fun of the most in their friend group. but dream doesnt realize that because hes stuck in content creator branding mode. its honestly sad to see

Ikiss georg, who harasses a british standup comedian and misleads his fanbase about his queerness intentionally for profit and attention for five years, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.

Dream I dont know how to say this, but if a woman is upset they were called a whore, then thats on you. Like its not you who gets to decide if its received as a joke or not.

friendly reminder to all the dream stans still shooting for him: you don't know him. it's that simple.

it's extremely telling that tommy is being defended by all his old friends, current friends, editors, people he's worked with, family, fans, etc., meanwhile in dream's case, not even his best friends are coming to his defense. sapnap tuned into tubbo's stream, and both him and george have been radio silent throughout this whole thing.

the only people rushing to dream's defense and excusing his absolutely deplorable behaviour at this point are the fans. the fans who don't know him, who haven't worked with him or seen him behind the scenes.

he's manipulated you into going to bat for him, even if you don't know him. meanwhile, the people who do know him, who have worked with him and experienced him behind the scenes, are trying to tell you the truth about him.

this is not just "tommy doesn't like dream so he's spreading lies". this is everybody who knows dream, coming forward with their experiences and holding him accountable, and the only people who aren't willing to accept it are the fans who don't know him.

he is manipulating you.

I had a dream where I was stuck in bed, and this guy was taking care of me. Kept bringing me soup. He’d talk and it’d sound like very soft mumbling from another room. I couldn’t always understand the words, but it made me feel warm. Calm.

I asked his name and he said “Oh I’m the grim reaper.”

I think I dreamed what op is looking for. My pov character had just participated in a heist for a macguffin, when she stole the item for herself long before the group was separating. Just sitting in the car trying to relax and appear not suspicious and hope the boss doesn't double check the item. The boss double checked. Oh, is the item missing? How weird. Lets all look through the car's interior for it. There's arguing as we switch to a boat (dream logic or planned getaway, don't remember) did we even get the item? Of course we did! The boss pats his front pocket when he realized who got a bit close. Real tense atmosphere as boss and henchman who never liked my pov character openly talk about "filling the bitch with lead" if they find the item on me once we're back on land. (Boat too small for a patdown, maybe.) Thinking fast, I chuck the item into the water in one direction and then dive myself into another, trying to get under the keel. Then further behind the boat I try to play possum, waiting to see if they'll shoot just to make sure. About here I woke up. Still in dream land, I imagine that falling unconscious would probably be my best chance for survival coupled with the arrival of others that scare the gang to move on. Some cpr plus the puking up of a lungful of water, which is certainly not a realistic recovery by any means, and I am alive! Time to get on the run before the gang returns and finish the job. But first, maybe now is also the best chance to retrieve the item?

Basically, huge obvious character flaw that character suffers from repeatedly with not a single lesson learned ever. Not character getting screwed over through no fault of her own, that is a dime a dozen. So is character getting away with said flaw, or the suffering informing the flaw instead. A female character whose character flaw isn't justified or given a sad backstory, who actually suffers because of it multiple times before even considering character development.

I don't know, I just wanted some restful sleep and ended up with a nail-biting thriller dream that startled me awake with the heart pumping, so take this trope analysis with a grain of salt.

There's something extremely depressing to me about how many people just don't want to get weird with female characters the way they do with male characters.

Like, I can kind of see why a lot of people feel weird about writing about bad things happening to female characters, but what it leads to is everyone putting female characters up on a shelf where you can admire them but you can't actually do anything interesting with them because that might be sexist or just make people feel bad. And I think that's actually a whole lot worse in the long run.
