Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr Performed Two Songs Last Night

Last night at Sir Paul McCartney's final concert of his current Get Back Tour in London, he was joined by a special guest his old Beatle bandmate Sir Ringo Starr, who sat in on drums on "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "Helter Skelter". As if that weren't enough, Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones sat in earlier on "Get Back".

Various times over the years the two remaining Beatles have joined each other for a song or two at one of their concerts. Back in 2010 when I saw Sir Ringo in concert at Radio City Music Hall on his 70th birthday, the big finale was Sir Paul joining for "Birthday". Very cool to see these two still performing together!

I'm laughing but I'm also just questioning that they used a fanfiction, covered in their trend report, as inspiration for a song. Seemingly, they took diction and direct themes and even plot points and put it in the song. If this happened in the US, I'm sure there would be some sort of legal action taken, even if it amounted to nothing.

Did the company feel fanfiction was theirs to plunder since the idols are their "property", in their view? Whatever their reason, this type of company culture goes beyond the creation of deeply inauthentic art. It feels cold and calculated.

Also, they describe their own artists' relationships as "cousins forced together for the summer." That's a wild thing to report to your executive board. "They can barely stand each other, so that makes it hard for anyone to ship them." 💀
