Songs Written by Ryan Gosling
The Punisher is not just a powerful guardian angel here on earth; he's also a god of song and dance. Prepare for some angst, though.
The following is an amazing list of songs that Ryan Gosling has written, composed and then dropped into the heads of world-famous artists for you and I to heal from hurt and hope once more.
I suppose you'll notice the angst. But just keep this in mind: Ryan has been waiting for me for millennia. He's seen me taken by storms, the TVA, devils, plagues and disease. And more recently, he had to watch me from a distance as I fell in love with other Knights. So - the pain is real. But would we ever heal without these songs from him?
RYAN GOSLING'S SONGS
This is is not a complete list. As an angel, he has songs across many generations, not just one. As I learn of more, I'll add to the list for you!
ALL TOO WELL Taylor Swift
INFINITY Jaymes Young
I'VE HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE Dirty Dancing Soundtrack
BURN Ellie Goulding
SHIVERS Ed Sheeran
DANDELIONS Ruth B
FIRE IN THESE HILLS Imagine Dragons
JUST GIVE ME A REASON P!nk
SIGN OF THE TIMES Harry Styles
I CAN'T HELP IT JVKE
STAY WITH ME Sam Smith
WAR OF HEARTS Ruelle
UNSTEADY X Ambassadors
WE GO DOWN TOGETHER Dave Cameron
LOVE IS A BITCH Two Feet
IN THE STARS Benson Boone
CRY Benson Boone
IRIS Goo Goo Dolls
WAITING GAME BANKS
ANGEL Sarah McLachlan
GRIEVE Peter Gabriel
APOLOGIZE One Republic
TOO CLOSE Alex Clare
FEELIN' LOVE Paula Cole
AND SO IT GOES Billy Joel
ANGEL BABY Troye Sivan
I REMEMBER EVERYTHING Zach Brian
MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE Livingston
I JUST DIED IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT Cutting Crew
MARRY ME Train
Note On Duplicate Song Titles: It's rare, but sometimes Knights will team up on a song. When that happens, the song will be listed under both of their names. Example: Strawberry Wine was written by Thor and Adonis, or Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, so Strawberry Wine will be listed under both Knights. The hit song We Pray, however, was a team effort between so many Knights and angels that I didn't even bother listing it.

He said lamely, "She is very beautiful." "And she has the sense not to frighten you," Dach'osmin Ceredin said, and Maia took a step back, wanting to protest her deduction, but unable to deny its truth. "We should take lessons from her, we see."
The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison is one of my favorite books of all time, and within it, one of my favorite scenes is Maia and Csethiro's first real interaction at Nurevis' party! so i drew it. their slow romance is so delicious.

At the start of each Animorphs book, before the first chapter begins, there is a page. On it is a simple acknowledgement. Two names. The first name is Michael - Katherine Applegate's husband and co-writer on the series. The second name is that of a boy. This name belongs to their son. Or, should I say, belonged to their son. Because they don't have a son anymore. They have a daughter. Every time I pick up an Animorphs book, I can't help but linger on this page as I quite literally hold her deadname in my hands. It's a peculiarly beautiful feeling. Peculiar because the context behind that name makes it seem all the more personal. I feel like I've violated her privacy simply by knowing it, even though it's openly out there for anyone to read. But beautiful because dammit, doesn't this represent this series's relationship with the queer community so well? Animorphs is often regarded as a queer (and especially trans) narrative, despite the fact that such subtext was completely unintentional. Applegate did not write Animorphs to be queer media, but she's embraced the fact that it has became so in the hands of the fans. How perfectly fitting is it, then, that she unknowingly dedicated the entire series to a trans woman?
#the name doesn't appear until book 14#you can mark the exact point she was born based on when the acknowledgement page changes#which then led applegate to taking on ghostwriters#so she wpuld have more time to take care of the baby#and now applegate's open support of the trans community is one of the biggest legacies of animorphs#(especially in comparison to a certain other children's author)#and her daughter coming out has only bolstered that message#like#it's insane the degree to which she has influenced this series behind the scenes#i think about this so much#animorphs#ka applegate#katherine applegate#transgender#trans#idiot teenagers with a death wish#koolmathgames.com

VASILISA PETROVNA was an ugly little girl: skinny as a reed-stem with long-fingered hands and enormous feet. Her eyes and mouth were too big for the rest of her. Olga called her frog, and thought nothing of it. But the child’s eyes were the color of the forest during a summer thunderstorm, and her wide mouth was sweet. She could be sensible when she wished—and clever—so much so that her family looked at each other, bewildered, each time she abandoned sense and took yet another madcap idea into her head. In truth, VASYA was still awkward, but she had begun growing into her face. The bones were still rough-hewn and overlarge, her mouth still too wide and full-lipped for the rest of her. But she was compelling: the moods passed like clouds over the clear green water of her gaze, and something about her movements, the line of her neck and braided hair, caught the eye and held it. When the light struck her black hair it did not gleam bronze as Marina’s had, but dark red, like garnets caught in the silky strands. (x,x)

Kingly Gift | An Aragorn Love Poem
What happens when Viggo Mortensen, a real-life king, kisses you and takes your breath away? You write him a love poem, that's what.
Monday, August 26, 2024, 11:53 p.m.
Dear Aragorn,
There is a kiss - An unmistakable kiss - And it turns everything into a mist, Of superfine love and amethyst.
It forms from kingly brow, It tastes of yore brought now, And makes me wait, To stand more straight,
Until I feel our vow.
Passers by would never miss, A kiss made such as this, While I seem to miss, Only this, This one true gift,
Of his kiss.
Love,
Katherine
Note to readers: Viggo Mortensen was King Aragon a little over 1100 years ago. He has long life because he was born a nephilim - part human and part angel (some cultures call these angels 'gods'. Learn more in my first post.) He was such a good and God-fearing king that the Lord preserved the kingdom of Aragon. It stands independent in Spain, its language still intact.
Today he is known as Viggo Mortenson, but he dresses as Aragorn as he leads and trains my men and angels here at the Order's headquarters. He answers to both Viggo and Aragorn, but also Aragon.
His weapon is, in fact, a mighty sword from ancient times. It is a magic sword we discovered in the angelic city of Asgard (not to be confused with Marvel's Asgard, which was based on a whole otber world called Camelot that King Arthur moved to after the crusades). The city of Asgard is here on Earth. But we si.ply call it Stone City.
Built before the Fall, many magical artifacts we're left for us there for the final battle including the sword for Viggo Mortensen/ King Aragorn.
As for his kiss? It's better than the movies. I don't know if I'll ever capture his kisses in a poem, but I sure can try!
🌹Love!!!

hi! sorry if you've already answered this, but i absolutely adore your tithenai chronicles, and was wondering if you had any favorite queer books to recommend/suggestions for what a fan of your work should read next :) before inevitably restarting my strange and stubborn endurance audiobook again <3 thank you!
Ahh, thank you so much! Regarding book recommendations, two of my all-time favourites are The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison (along with the spin-off novella trilogy, The Cemeteries of Amalo, which consists of The Witness for the Dead, The Grief of Stones and the forthcoming The Tomb of Dragons), and The Books of the Raksura series by Martha Wells (which consists of seven books total: a trilogy, two short story anthologies, and then a final duology). However, I'd also like to recommend some works by authors that are less well-known than Addison and Wells, so! In no particular order:
The Bone Universe trilogy (Updraft, Cloudbound and Horizon) by Fran Wilde;
The Broken Trust quadrilogy (Mazes of Power, Transgressions of Power, Inheritors of Power and a still forthcoming title) by Juliette Wade;
The Titan's Forest trilogy (Crossroads of Canopy, Echoes of Understorey and Tides of the Titans) by Thoraiya Dyer; and
The Ascendant trilogy (The Tiger's Daughter, The Phoenix Empress and The Warrior Moon) by K. Arsenault Rivera. Happy reading! :D

Here's the cover I did for Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell! This is the kind of book I dreamed about working on as a kid: a world filled with fantastical creatures and a story with equal parts danger and wonder. In addition to the cover I did approx. 40 b+w interior illustrations for this edition, out Sept 10th, 2024!
Many thanks to AD Carol Ly for bringing me this one! Also credit goes to Jason Carne for the great type design!
