Will & James's first meeting. It was unclear whose line it was, though it's later revealed to be an echo of a flashback scene in Dark Heir.

Also good to note that "gauntlets" and "collars" are two vastly different objects so those two words cannot be used synonymously / interchangably with one another.

The line appeared during Will's second meeting with James. It was still unclear whose line it was.

DH Ch. 14, Will's POV Chapter

This is one of the tricky parts, where Will’s and James’s lines appear to merge, and it's crucial that the reader's discretion comes into play.

Will only has vague memories of these lines, only assumed that the exact words were the ones that appeared James’s dreams. Will is not all knowing, he can't read minds, he knows almost nothing about his past life. So, why should we assume that his monologue is indeed the same line within James’s dreams???

When we separate James's dialogue and Will's inner monologue, we got two different lines:

James: And it's whispering— I will always— (incomplete)

Will: Find you. Find you. Try to run.

And again, in this chapter we're still not being shown who exactly said those lines.

DH Ch. 30, Sarcean's POV Chapter, flashback

This is where Pacat pulled a reverse Uno on every single one of you. That exact line—the one haunting Will since his first meeting with James, which you all assumed belonged to Sarcean—was explicitly revealed to be Anharion’s all along.

It matches. The feeling of a "metal gauntlet closing around flesh" was a vague recollection to Anharion putting manacles on Sarcean’s wrists. Did you all assume it was the Collar? Oops.

DH Ch. 47, James's POV Chapter, flashback

After all that earth-shattering reveal, assuming that this line STILL belonging to Sarcean is straight up lazy.

If we combine the italicized words, this is what we get:

"Try to run. Sarcean, I will always find you."

Now, why would Sarcean call out his own name during lovemaking?? 😂

It's only logical to deduce that this was said by Anharion during uh— his...... heated.... ache of surrender.

Of course, it did not erase the possibility that Sarcean could've said similar lines. Could've. There is no evidence that he did. Yet I still see people using this line as a concrete proof that he was an evil, inhumane, toxic, possessive partner.

Objection! Allegations without evidence is unsubstantial, Your Honor.

While Anharion who practically said it outloud in front of a crowd got forever labeled as their perfectly behaved damsel in distress victim.
