“It’s okay,” Saint told him, softer than he thought he knew how to be. He was a hard-nosed bastard with a thick skin and a thicker head, but Jal cried like he couldn’t breathe, like he was drowning under all that grief and fear and pain... - THAT SCENE from CASCADE FAILURE

I'm proud to announce that I've published my first ever novel, Sword of the Voivode. I am so excited to have my first book out in the world!
The book is available through most major online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and others.
Cyril Valentin believed he'd left his old life well behind him when he ran away to live freely as a New Man. When a former suitor attempts to murder the entire ruling family of Vodomeria- including Cyril- he must choose whether to return to the safety of self-imposed exile or journey home to face both his would-be murderer and his estranged family. Concerned for his young half-brother despite the years apart, Cyril undertakes the journey into the heart of his homeland with his lover Daumantas- an ogre with secrets of his own. Dodging agents of the rival house Zhupensken, the two men have their fledgling romance tested as they navigate a realm in disarray as well as the secrets they've been keeping from one another. In order to restore peace to the realm, Cyril must come to terms with his past as the Dueling Princess of Vodomeria and face the men who saw him as a prize to be won. Can Cyril set aside his complex feelings and locate his family before the Zhupensken agents that wish to do them harm? Will his relationship with Daumantas endure as both men reveal hidden sides of themselves?

To Wield The Darkest Night by Beau Van Dalen
Every night, I see that man—that lovely stranger—in my dreams. So strong, mysterious, gentle… but a stranger all the same. Until one day he shows up at my doorstep, and promises me adventure…
As a closeted trans man and apothecary to a small town, Sol is numbed by his uneventful life. Stifled by his past trauma and his neighbors' present expectations, he only finds comfort in his sleep, where he is haunted by visions of a mysterious lover: a man too perfect to be real, yet too vivid to be a dream…
At first, Sol makes nothing of these strange nighttime apparitions—until the lover from his visions, Yohan, walks into his potion shop years later asking for him personally.
Tall, darkly mysterious and handsome, Yohan is a knight cursed by forbidden magic whose King has fallen ill. And Sol just happens to be one of the rare people able to craft a cure.
Now, Sol finds himself with the perfect excuse to leave his small town behind, and just the perfect man to do it with.
A sensual tale of self-discovery and healing, following a trans man MC and his gay lover in a darkly supernatural yet cozy romantasy world.

This is a cause that is particularly near and dear to my heart, but especially coming up to pride month. Glad Day book shop is considered the oldest queer book store in the world and the oldest running book store in Toronto. They are a staple of the gay village here in my city and are a hub of knowledge and a well recognized safe space for everyone. They are in trouble and may end up being shut down soon however if they cannot come up with $100, 000 to pull themselves out of mounting debt that has been building over the past few years. They're hoping to create a safety net for themselves and to possibly relocate if they can reach their final goal of $300, 000. More details on their fundraising plans are below in the Save Glad Day link.

Happy National Coming Out Day! It's been about half a year since our middle grade graphic novel, Lunar Boy, released! Today we want to reflect on the concept of Coming Out, and how it's fictionalized in media.
Check out Lunar Boy wherever american graphic novels are sold, or check it out at a library! All the support means a lot with getting stories like this out there.
#national coming out day#coming out#queer#trans#lgbtq books#qpoc#queer books#lunar boy#graphic novel#long post!!#i've gotten so many queer ppl reaching out to me thankful that LB was a book that told them “it's ok to take your time to figure it out”#and I think that says something about the current landscape of queer media for a message like that to be a relief

Magica Riot by Kara Buchanan
The last night of Claire Ryland's old life in the closet was pretty normal, aside from the alley fight with interdimensional monsters. Fortunately, the drummer of her favorite local band transformed into a magical girl and saved her.
Then Claire became a magical girl as well. Things got a little complicated after that.
Now Claire is juggling two new lives: living as a girl and as a member of Portland's super-secret supernatural defense squad, the hard-rocking magical girls known as … Magica Riot!
The story of a young transgender woman who's discovering herself at the same time she's learning how to be a magical girl, Magica Riot is an action-filled musical adventure inspired by classic magical girl anime, tokusatsu shows, and the vibe of the American Pacific Northwest. Featuring a cast of LGBTQ+ magical girls, mysterious monsters, and villains that are more than they appear to be, Magica Riot shows that finding your true self is the first step toward saving the world.
The debut work in the Maidensong Magica universe of magical girl stories!
