It actually took me a bit to realize people commenting on my songs that I write have actually been through what I’ve been through and they relate to me and yeah that’s sad in way, but that lets me know that my music is not for nothing that my music has purpose and I use music to help heal. I just hope that it’s helping others heal too because I don’t want anyone to feel alone and they’re not. ❤️‍🩹

My favourite underrated thing about Louis de Point du Lac is that he truly is the least curious vampire to ever be made and he does not give fuck about vampires despite being one.

Its Claudia who goes to libraries, reads the folklore, tries to learn as much as she can and pushes Lestat for answers about who made him and where the others are. Claudia says Vampire Pride and Louis says hmmm Vampire Tolerance.

And Louis...truly does not care about vampire history,law, culture. He's never even thought to ask. There are vampire laws?...ok...Lestat never cared about them and he's not going to either, lol. He's broken a few and he will continue to do so. Oh you have a coven? he's not gonna join it, he's gonna do his own thing. but good for you good for you.

The final TF2 issue really got to me. Spoilers, but it’s the reveal that all of this suffering and murder and war over gravel and shitty land was for nothing but senseless, bottomless hatred. That the administrator can’t even remember where this revenge plot started as she flashes through different false memories of her parents’ deaths. There was never a tragic backstory or justification, only terrible people doing despicable things. And despite how crass and stupid and unserious TF2 is, the story subverts every expectation by showing the survivors and inheritors willingly breaking the cycle. Ms. Pauling lies to the administrator and chooses not to save her, and finally lets her die. (Hurts even more if you read into the subtext that Ms. Pauling is in love with the administrator.) She lets the final cache of Australium go and walks away from the burden and legacy of a century-old bloodfeud. Hale lets Gray’s daughter go and live her life freely. Spy is the first to arrive at Scout’s house and meet his big family, finally takes off his mask, and helps with the kids. Even Merasmus exhaustedly makes peace with himself and Soldier and chooses not to curse him or something. There’s nothing to finish, no promises to keep, and no one to avenge. The only thing to do is break the cycle and walk away.

It feels odd how happy and warm everything is, but it feels so right and earned. These bloodthirsty, awful, violent men were expendable cogs in a machine of endless violence, and they found a way out. It’s a genuinely great message about letting go the past that burdens you and finding the will and a way to hit the bricks, change, and be happy. Maybe they don’t technically deserve happiness, but they’ve got it nonetheless, and they’re not gonna let it go to waste. They’re still all crazy and violent, but on their own terms now and with people who love them! Smiles.

Healing 06/11/24

It’s June and I’m cold 🥶 I’m sooo tired and it’s too late in the day to nap but too early for bed yet. I keep drinking water and snacking trying to stay awake lol Just popped a hot bag of popcorn 🍿 Watching the first season of king of queens (again) Just finished up the nanny and everybody loves Raymond 🤪 Been watching the same sitcoms over and over for years… I’ve tried a few new shows but none of them have any new seasons out right now. Grr. My fave new show is “Resident Alien” omg he’s soooo funny and awkward. The way the season ended was like “Noooooo but what’s gonna happen to those kids?” lol 😂

I’ve been opening up FINALLY to my mom in law about my past and she understands more than I thought but still doesn’t understand me altogether. People think because I was homeschooled that I lived under a rock and never experienced anything. Whatever, I don’t have to prove myself or explain myself. I’ve tried to control my thoughts more, less ruminating and less TikTok. My mood has improved and also trying to keep a better attitude towards my past. More forgiveness and less judgement but sometimes intrusive thoughts still try to sneak in my brain and I have to shake my head and talk myself through the thoughts of my exes.

Also I finished a new song today. I don’t know how well it’s going to do but I enjoyed making it. Music is my first language! This song is straight out of my blog. I’ve said these words many of times when writing about Andrew. I find writing songs about him helps me to safely share my feelings without judgement. I doubt Andrew will ever hear my music but I imagine sometimes when I make a song that I’m directly talking to him and pouring out my heart. I don’t know how else to express myself.
