Back in office, indeed! Taylor truly in her element at a sold out stadium with a cat on her arm - we do love to see it. How I’ve missed her! In the excitement of the book launch (and said book becoming a NYT bestseller[!!!]), it almost slipped my mind that the Eras Tour is kicking back in for its final leg across the U.S. and Canada this weekend.

Secondary to green, I have a bit of a thing for Blondes In Yellow™ - so this cozy sweatshirt was very up my alley. Taylor rewears her ‘Marquee’ sunnies that she first debuted at the US Open last month. There’s currently a BOGO deal on them! To my eye, it appears that Taylor is wearing a brown pair of strappy LVs. I love the warm tone here and the chic 70s-ish vibe it gives when paired with her wide leg jeans.

Chapter 18: A Living, Breathing Thing

“Given the stage of his condition, we expect to see this level of hypertrophy, but the bleeding was quite severe, Mr. Talis.”

Jayce nods along to the doctor’s words, though his eyes land, unfocused, on the results of the emergency procedures that saved Viktor’s life just this morning. It feels like a lifetime has gone by since he first burst into the medical wing of the academy. The hospital is as beautiful as any part of Piltover, but its clean, bright hallways feel oppressive in their sterile calm after the calamity of the day before. Moonlight pours through the tall windows into the hallway, wobbling on the tile floor like church panes catching light. Jayce is wistful over the idea that this could be a place capable of making miracles happen.

“Episodes like this tend to reoccur with increasing frequency as the vascular damage progresses,” Dr. Granet continues, her tone gentle but matter-of-fact. “We gave you about six months to a year as our best estimate, but that timeline could shorten significantly with another major bleed.”

“So… what are our options for preventing another incident?” His voice is firmer than he feels capable of managing. Viktor’s prognosis was never good. They’d both known that his time was limited, but when they were both in their mid-twenties on the cusp of breakthrough after breakthrough, that reality had seemed a shadowy possibility to Jayce. Viktor was simply sick sometimes, but he always got better. Certainly, he’d… declined continuously, but there was that impossible, indomitable nature to him. Now, Jayce thinks of Viktor’s blue-tinged skin, the blood on his lips, the wild fear in his eyes as he tried and failed to pull air into his lungs. This is the second major collapse he’s aware of Viktor having in less than a year, and with the doctor’s words, it all bodes poorly.

“We can continue with preventative measures—careful monitoring, medication adjustments. But given the extent of the damage…” Jayce blinks at her in a way that must appear stupefied, seeing as she changes tack, searching for an analogy that will resonate with an engineer. “Think of it like trying to patch increasingly unstable pipework. We can reinforce the weak points, but the underlying structural damage continues to progress.”

He feels like he’s the one crumbling under pressure, a foundation giving in. He clenches a fist and takes a deep breath to steady himself. “And the oxygen therapy?”

“We’ll start with supplemental oxygen, but we should prepare for more intensive support in the future.” She pauses, her tone softening. “The priority now is managing his recovery while we optimise his treatment plan. Viktor’s awareness of his condition and willingness to participate will help us mitigate unnecessary suffering.”

‘Unnecessary suffering’, Jayce thinks to himself, wishing he could materialise the words and shred them into tiny pieces. Viktor is running out of time, and Jayce is losing him day by day. He thinks of the sensation of Viktor’s hand in his hair just an hour ago while he drifted off, bent over his partner’s hospital bed. He thinks of the fragile reconciliation they have. To be so close to having everything he’s missed, only to face losing it all again—and this time, for good. It feels unspeakably cruel.

“Of—of course. That’s… good.” He swallows the rest of the pitiful words he might utter, his reply weak enough as it is.

Dr. Granet gives him that same reassuring smile she offered yesterday. “We’ll continue monitoring him closely. For now, focus on helping him rest and recover from this episode. We can adjust his care plan as needed.”

Viktor’s time is really coming to an end.

What just happened today?

a soulmates au where your words only show up after you’ve met your soulmate. sort of like an insurance policy, you know, so you’re not left wondering whether every other person you meet is the one if your words are too generic.

in this universe, captain america has been recovered and active for several years now. he runs missions and saves the world with his ragtag team of superheroes formed by SHIELD. steve's become a celebrity, which he doesn't love, but it's something he learns to live with because that's life for public figures in the 21st century.

tony never became iron man because he walked away from his father's legacy the second he turned 18. he and howard are still working on their relationship, but maria couldn't be prouder and tells tony so everyday. he built his own company from the ground up and it's thriving under his leadership. he's only marginally famous these days and he tries his best to stay out of the limelight, guarding his private life as much as possible. that's how it's been for twenty years and he's happy.

they meet on a day when steve is tired, irritable and angry. he's just returned from a mission where two of his teammates were injured because of the faulty information they received. he goes out on a walk to let off some steam and he's just slipping his phone back into his pocket after rejecting fury's fifth call for a debrief when he slams right into tony.

tony was having a good day. he'd just sent out a new set of designs and decided to reward himself for it. he goes and gets himself a fresh, delicious, life-affirming cup of coffee and is just stepping out of the cafe with aforementioned cup when a walking brick wall comes out of nowhere.

good news is, tony had ordered a cold brew. once every few weeks that's just what he's in the mood for and it had been one of those days. bad news is, instead of drinking it he is now wearing it.

sticky and cold and more than a little shocked, tony barely has time to recover and figure out what happened when steve starts tearing into him.

“god damn it, watch where the fuck you’re going! that could have spilled all over me! idiot!” steve yells at tony. and on a normal day, he’d be apologetic and he’d never curse like this at a stranger. but he really didn’t need yet another thing to go wrong today and he’s on a short fuse.

maybe later, when he’s calmed down, he’ll think back on the cute man with the giant brown eyes staring at him in disbelief and start beating himself up over how he behaved.

at the moment, all tony can do is look at steve’s pristine white t-shirt that somehow has not a single drop of coffee on it, then look back down at his own chest. he has no words except, “wow. you’re a fucking asshole.” and he just turns around and walks away.

tony gets home and strips off for a rinse before he gets ready for his flight to london for a week of meetings. all the while he can’t help but think that angry blond man looked vaguely familiar and he can’t place where he knows him from. he doesn’t notice the new string of words tattooed down the side of his thigh until he’s in his hotel room half a day later.

meanwhile, steve gets home after his walk, after he’s checked on his teammates, after sitting with fury for three long hours to debrief, and finally washes the day off of him. before he gets into the shower, he notices something different about his reflection.

along his left bicep are the words, wow. you’re a fucking asshole.

he thinks back on the cute man with the big brown eyes and a chest full of coffee and wonders how in the hell he can fix this mess.

My top five ships for Hellaverse that I enjoy are:

1) Radioapple/appleradio/duckiedeer

Started as a crack-ship, then I found content that treated it seriously that I really enjoyed. I don’t know if I want it to be canon, but I like the different flavors of Luci and Al as a couple whether it be QPR or Romantic.

2) Staticmoth/VoxVal

I just think these two are a match made in hell. I dont know if they love each other or not but it’s funny to see them interact in positive and negative ways

3) SilentBroadcast/Onewayradio/RadioSilence

I just love the whole “ Vox is gay for Alastor and deer noped out ASAP” throw radioapple ship in there and my joy increases.

4) Stolitz/Stolas x Blitzø

I don’t think I need to explain this one

5) Huskerdust/Husker x Angel Dust.

Once again, I don’t really think I need an explanation for this one.

I love singNsong again reminding people in Side Story that Dokja wanted other people to read TWSA (he wrote reviews and comments! It was his first wish), and he only stopped bothering because people harassed him for it. He didn't gate-keep the story. When he's avoiding talking to Sangah about it at the beginning of ORV, it's because he knows what happens when he tells people about the story, not because he's gate-keeping it from her. He notes he's not proud of his hobby (likely because he's been bullied all through his life, including for reading the thing he loves): he finds it embarrassing to talk about, and better respects her studying Spanish in her free time (learning another language is a generally accepted thing in society). He assumes she won't care or will look at him funny (or worse) for when she learns about the novel he's into.

Basically anyone writing "let's gatekeep ORV" posts because of the anime announcement or because they dislike the manhwa or some other weirdness, y'all are the villains in the scenario.

The literal climax of the story is about sharing ORV with as many people as possible. What story were y'all reading?
