oh. so quantum numbers and orbitals actually do make sense, my professor just explained them in the most esoteric and roundabout way possible
#this always happens to me with stem classes. like the professor will explain something that's totally lost on me#and the textbook is so dry and wordy that it doesn't help#and then I watch like one Khan academy video that explains it slightly differently and suddenly I'm like#'OHHH I'm not stupid! yippee!'#anyways thank you Khan academy ilu#my neurodivergent ass takes like four times as long to learn things than my peers seem to#and then I realize how simple it is and I just feel silly#gabeposting#vent#(?)#this isn't really a vent this is just me rambling#I do great in all my biology courses but the moment you start bringing chem or math into the mix I'm just#huh?? whuh????

yk that military kid camp i went to? gone for like a week? there were so many homeschooled kids it was crazy. and people that skipped grades. like a 14 yr old is a junior and this 15 yr old is starting freshman in college. made me feel 1) dumb 2) better because i feel like i am inherently less awkward and less socially inept than the average homeschooled kid. i do feel bad a little bit. not a lot.
you are less socially inept than the average homeschool kid I promise. this includes me unfortunately. also don't worry about whether or not they're smarter than you I promise something is still wrong with them
#15 yr old freshman in college is probably just doing dual enrollment which I was SUPPOSED TO DO#but I was lazy and kept putting off taking the practice tests so now I'm a senior. and still haven't started dual enrollment#probably not going to#but yeah a lot of homeschoolers do dual enrollment bc supposedly? the first 2 years of college aren't really major specific#they're like. general classes everyone is required to take. so homeschoolers with flexible schedules have the time and ability#to take those during highschool. they also might just not be taking the highschool versions of those classes at all#like if you can do. entry level college biology or highschool biology well the college one is the same stuff but more in depth#so you don't need to take the highschool class#and then as for the 14 yr old junior well one homeschoolers tend to have less work#I don't really get homework because it's just schoolwork#like I just have to complete things on khan academy#and a lot of in school classroom time is just the teacher trying to manage 20 kids. which isn't a problem here#so I have like. 3-4 hours of schoolwork total in a day probably? you could totally backload more of it#to be finished quicker#anyway they're not any smarter than you they just do school differently in a way that sounds more impressive#but isn't gonna have that big of an effect later#finishing college 2 years early doesn't actually get you anything but your degree 2 years early#ask#ghoultaffy#hi jayme!

You know the “Dad, How Do I?” YouTube channel? Yeah, that, but with Red Hood, and they’re unlisted videos that Crime Alley residents share with each other.
It started with goons stealthily taking videos of Red Hood ranting about shitty drug quality that they upload under the title “Boss on drug quality control,” primarily for other goons so that anyone can tell if the supplies have been cut with something and don’t need to waste time asking Hood.
Then videos from civilians start popping up too, featuring Red Hood lecturing street kids titled things like “RH on staying warm in winter” and “RH on how not to get mugged.”
Memorably, there’s a video titled “RH on classic literature (y’all did RH go to college???? Is our crime lord a lit major???)” where Red Hood imparts upon some kids the importance of reading. After a very positive reception, the uploader goes back to Red Hood, asks about a book they’re reading for school, and gets a whole lecture on themes and whatnot. It does numbers and becomes a series, and this time Hood knows the camera exists (he’s always known they exist, he just couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge them) and actually talks to it.
(Jason will do anything to help these children, whether it’s giving them a leg up in school, giving the street kids who aren’t in school some semblance of an education, or teaching them how to shank someone trying to traffic them.)
Red Hood never uploads any videos himself, but it doesn’t matter. Crime Alley crowd sourced its own version of Khan academy and it’s better for it.

There was that scene in Kim's Convenience where the daughter is in her photography class and her lecturer is looking up her website, realises the first page isn't hers, the second is also not hers, she has to go to page 2 of google and at that point just throws down her hands and says at that point, as a potential customer, she already loses interest and gives up cause it's not worth the effort
and lately I just feel like the whole fucking internet feels like that
I want to look up how to use cricut stuff and what that even really is, what can I do with what but when I put their name in i get taken to the fucking shop with no explanations far and wide, then next link is also the shop, next link is ALSO the shop but different, and by the time I finally find a page that has any kind of explanation, i'm so annoyed that the hoops is makes me jump through THEN—e.g. selecting which topic I want to learn more about—I'm no longer interested in doing this shit
the other day I wanted to look up what Nokia is up to in terms of phones these days but they no longer have 1 coherent website. In general, many places seem to not want any coherence in their websites, or sub-menus that you can easily navigate
Like, I come from myspace. I know how to navigate the internet. I played WoW in days of dial-up internet. And yet, everything is so goddamn convoluted and incoherent, there is NO structure or logic to anything and on top of that, google, and with it most other search engines, are fucking fried! A few years ago, if a website was really badly designed, you could just navigate back, google the website + search term you needed and get there somehow, but now that is also useless more often than not!
At this point I am genuinely over the internet. We had a good 15 years with it, let's pack it up.
#technology#rant#google#internet#I would PREFER myspace days#on wordpress many things are no longer possible#that I want to do#but they are like 'users can only click and drag and we do not trust them with that power'#between this and AI I am sick of it#genuinely i don't think these people understand how much they are not worth my time#just so I can give them money#paypal too!!!!#someone sent me a msg on there didn't know that was possible but cool#so I checked my messages but haha no that's where paypal msgs go#as in letters from paypal#not messages ON paypal#so I check my payments since it was in response to that but ALSO no#at that point I already wanted to shake whoever made that fucked up choice#cause already I'm tired of it#it should be either in my messages or on my dashboard with the payment it belongs to#y'all don't know what you are doing get outttt#I should do two things:#a) start a 'learn everything' discord server with anyone who wants in#we will teach each other everything we want#fuck khan academy I'm doing this now#b) go on linkedin and promote myself as consultant for 1000 things#app design/user interface consultant#communcation consultant too#writing consultant! teacher! charlie & reader. fluff.
i don’t know who agrees with me on this, but i’ve been onto math teacher! charlie & english teacher! reader since dinosaurs went extinct..
♡ i’m thinking a middle school setting.. eighth grade, perhaps. you’re across the hall from each other, but don’t talk too often. not much apart from the shy waves in the morning and small talk while waiting outside of your classrooms to greet your students.
♡ well, that was until charlie started having computer issues. now, don’t get me wrong, he’s a very intelligent man! but he fucking hates these school issued chromebooks they’ve handed out to students.
♡ he usually assigns most work on paper since it’s math, but the school asked for him to start using ixl or fucking khan academy, i don’t know. something online that students can access in case they lose their papers.
♡ but you? you used chromebooks all the time! you weren’t cruel enough to make your students write their papers by hand!
♡ none of charlie’s students could figure out what was wrong with the chromebooks, and neither could he, so he went across the hall to get some help (all embarrassed too.. so cute).
“hi! sorry to interrupt, but i’m having trouble getting my students chromebooks to work? do you think you could help?”
♡ of course, being a nice person, you invite him into your classroom and happily help the man. you explain to him why it was broken and how to fix it etc (he wasn’t listening btw, was staring at you the entire time, he thinks you’re so beautiful).
♡ and after that interaction, charlie tries to talk to you more. (YOU’RE SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL HE JUST WANTS TO BE AROUND YOU) in the break room, he’ll ask how your classes are going, and at lunch, he’ll stop by to see what you’re doing, and even at the end of the day, he’ll check up on you to make sure you don’t stay at the school too late.
♡ his students do not fail to notice this. in fact, they encourage it. “but mr dalgeish, my chomebook is broken! can you please ask them to fix it? i want to finish my work so i don’t have to do it at home!” how could he turn down an opportunity to see you?
♡ he tells his class to keep a low volume while he leaves the room for a moment, walking over to your classroom with his student’s chromebook before knocking.
“hello. sorry, again, for interrupting. i’m not quite sure what’s wrong with this chromebook… could you help?” “oh, don’t worry about it! of course i’ll help!”
♡ you start to take a liking to mr dalgeish too.. he’s quite cute, isn’t he? :) he seems so nervous to talk to you outside of the routine good mornings, which you adore.
“so, uh, how was your weekend?” “it was nice! i got to relax and not worry about grading, so what more could i ask for?” “haha, yeah, i, uh, i agree!”
♡ your students probably get so sick of you both. smiling at him while he stumbles over his words like an idiot. one of his students probably try to stage a note, but it’s so obvious that it’s from said student LMAO.
‘dear beautiful english teacher please date me - mr d’
♡ you put a note on his desk with the note from the student attached.
‘so mr d, do you know what this is about?’
♡ oh GOD. he’s so embarrassed. he spends THIRTY minutes of class lecturing them on how that was unprofessional and inappropriate.
♡ talks to you at some point during lunch break.
“i’m so sorry about them—they can get really out of hand and they really like to meddle in other people’s business which is an entirely different conversation—” “charlie, it’s fine.” “i-it’s fine? ‘charlie’?” “oh, is that okay? i mean, i thought—” “no, no, no, it’s more than okay. i like it.” JUST KISS ALREADY.
♡ so. much. fucking. tension. YOU’RE BOTH TEETERING ON FRIENDS/MORE THAN FRIENDS AND IT ANNOYS EVERYONE.
♡ i can assure you right now, if you or charlie don’t make a move, your students or even a fucking coworker will do it for you. (enter: teacher! jschlatt and teacher! ted nivison)

Hi! I've been really enjoying your ecology posts lately. I was wondering- if I wanted to learn about ecology, but didn't have the time or money to go to uni, where would you suggest I start? Thanks!
Ooh, let's think.
So I suppose there's two halves to this: broad ecology processes and concepts that are universally true and fundamental to the field, and then the specific ecology of the area you're in that you'll likely see and be interacting with.
The latter of this is tricky for me to comment on without knowing where you are in the world, but countries do tend to have organisations that have publicly accessible websites on these things. In the UK, for example, there's the Wildlife Trust, the Woodland Trust, the RSPB, the Mammal Society... Each has species profiles you can access, or habitat profiles. There's also apps for ID, though those tend to be a Use With Caution situation, because they can flag things incorrectly. But I personally find PlantNet is pretty good for botany, as it indicates a list of possibilities that you then need to sift through with your human brain rather than an AI confidently telling you the foxglove you're looking at is a grasshopper.
Also, local nature groups often hold events like nature or ID walks, usually run by someone with a wealth of knowledge. Go along and ask questions! You can also make friends this way, which is always a bonus. Ecologists always end up with a phone book full of Organism People - if you find a weird frog you ask your Reptile Person. Weird mushroom? Ask your Fungus Person. I myself am a Tree Person. I know this about myself. I'm okay with it.
But! Species ID is only the surface of ecology, and arguably the less important part. It's more important to understand how the system works. To that end:
The best option I can think of offhand is Khan Academy, and their course on Environmental Science. Not all of it is strictly ecology specifically, but it is all interrelated. That will give you the fundamental information, and then if anything particularly interests you, you can dive deeper from there.
Good luck! And enjoy learning

Any guide on Elle woods / hermione / rory coz I had no study motivation 😮💨

fictional study icons guide, part 1: rory gilmore
ty for the ask! i’m gonna make this multiple parts, next will be elle woods, i never read/ watched harry potter tho so idk about hermione 🫣 but if y’all want me to do other characters, feel free to send ideas!
know your goals
rory had a clear idea of what she wanted for herself: to go to harvard & to become a journalist. when school & studying starts to feel tedious or difficult, having a strong “why” will keep you going. maybe you want to get into a certain school, you have a dream career path, or you want to become extra knowledgeable. never lose sight of your goal - surround yourself with reminders of it. rory had harvard memorabilia hanging in her room as a constant reminder of what she was working towards. you can create a vision board online, print pictures & hang them in your room, put notes up on your mirrors & walls. remember that classes, tests, & assignments are all leading you to a greater goal. studying is a means to an end and you deserve the best ending!
study a lot
rory prioritized her studies and spent a lot of her free time on schoolwork. the easiest way to succeed is to put in the time. don’t cut corners when it comes to your education - do your homework and assignments diligently, go through assigned readings & videos carefully, & if the teacher gives you optional/additional work, do it. remember tho, it’s important to study smarter, not harder. the most beneficial thing you can do is spend as much time as possible utilizing study methods that work for you. don’t waste time on study methods that aren’t effective for you. you can search my older posts for info about study styles or google learning styles & use that to help determine your best approach to schoolwork.
conquer challenges asap
when rory first started going to chilton, she unexpectedly got a bad grade on one of her first essays. she could have sat there and made excuses, felt sorry for herself and blamed the school/ teachers, but instead she worked extra hard to improve and overcome that poor grade. in the end she was valedictorian, showing that she was able to rise to the challenge and ultimately succeed. if you find yourself struggling with schoolwork, please take initiative asap and get whatever help you need. utilize all your resources - teachers, classmates, youtube video explanations, khan academy, tutors (if possible) - do not allow a dip in performance to be your norm. try to get to the bottom of why you’re struggling and then take care of whatever’s causing it. if you let yourself succumb to the struggle - telling yourself it’s because of bad teachers, the content is too hard, etc. - the only person who is gonna suffer in the long run is you. be proactive and take charge of your education.
take breaks
while rory did spend a lot of her time studying, it didn’t rule her whole life. she still made time for friends, family, and fun activities. life is about balance, and you don’t want to burn yourself out by spending every waking moment on school. take breaks for fun, to spend time with loved ones, to get fresh air & be active. give your mind breaks so that you can stay in top shape. that being said, make sure you strike a balance. don’t let your social life get in the way of your academics, but don’t let studying stop you from living life.
read a lot!
when i think of rory, i think of reading. she always has her nose in a book! she not only reads, but she reads books that are thought-provoking and intellectual - classics, non-fiction, and so on. reading is a wonderful hobby and it can also be a way to expand your mind. challenge yourself by reading books that are somewhat difficult to challenge yourself to read closely & dissect the content. find classics that genuinely interest you or non fiction on topics you enjoy. combine the fun of reading with the desire for intellectual growth. by reading more difficult books you can improve your vocabulary, build you reading comprehension skills, become better at analyzing literary devices, and overall become a more interesting person.
that’s all! have a great school year & best of luck with your studies! 🩷

Okay, look, they talk to a Google rep in some of the video clips, but I give it a pass because this FREE course is a good baseline for personal internet safety that so many people just do not seem to have anymore. It's done in short video clip and article format (the videos average about a minute and a half). This is some super basic stuff like "What is PII and why you shouldn't put it on your twitter" and "what is a phishing scam?" Or "what is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS and why do you care?"
It's worrying to me how many people I meet or see online who just do not know even these absolute basic things, who are at constant risk of being scammed or hacked and losing everything. People who barely know how to turn their own computers on because corporations have made everything a proprietary app or exclusive hardware option that you must pay constant fees just to use. Especially young, somewhat isolated people who have never known a different world and don't realize they are being conditioned to be metaphorical prey animals in the digital landscape.
Anyway, this isn't the best internet safety course but it's free and easy to access. Gotta start somewhere.
Here's another short, easy, free online course about personal cyber security (GCFGlobal.org Introduction to Internet Safety)

— ft. kuroo tetsurou
includes: a cute lil impromptu study date
it’s april and we all know what that means, finals season. right now it’s just you, your laptop, numerous papers and notebooks, and an iced matcha latte enveloping you in the cozy cafe atmosphere. you’re trying study for your calculus test tomorrow and you’re pretty focused, for the most part.
about ten minutes ago you glance up from your studies where you notice a familiar face across the cafe, kuroo tetsurou. while you’re decently close with your classmate and you’ve made conversation with him numerous times, you figured both of you are too busy with your work for you to approach him right now. however you can’t seem to get the striking captain out of your head. you’ve always had an admiration for him but some would say it’s more like a crush… so after a solid 15 minutes of pretending to do work and pondering what to do, you finally decide to maybe shoot him a text!
y/n: hey am i tripping or is there an obnoxious volleyball player studying across from me?
kuroo: obnoxious is a strong word 😒 u also studying for the calc test? 😭
y/n: kind of …. not doin too hot rn
kuroo: oh well you’re in luck then
and just like that you glance up from your screen and notice him begin to gather his things and make his way towards you. the middle blocker plops himself down on a seat next to you and begins unpacking his bag. “don’t worry princess im here to save you from your calc demons.” your flutters a little at the sudden nickname, but you keep your composure with a quick retort “ok woah im not doing THAT bad.” “then why is your study guide blank?” damn, he got you there. “whatever you gonna help me or what?” since he’s a man of his word he opens his notebook helping you review what you’ve learned these past classes, and working you through each problem better than khan academy ever could. he’s concise but sweet, making sure to comfort you every time you’re overwhelmed or not sure how to solve a problem. you’ve never seen this side of him, you’re used to dealing with his cockiness and sarcasm and this caring demeanor is something new to you.
but just like that an hour and a half has gone by and you’ve both successfully gotten through all your homework! where did all the time go? you wondered to yourself. embarrassingly, you’re kind of upset that you’re study sesh has come to an end. you’ve always wanted to go out with kuroo outside of class, and this is the closest you’re ever gonna get to that. “oh well all good things must come to an end” kuroo says, almost defeated you thank him for all his help while you start packing your things.
“actually wait before you go,” you stop what you’re doing to look up at him, wondering what he possibly need. surely he’s just gonna ask about something from class right? wrong. hes flustered. almost red even. scratching the back of his neck he finally looks at you and says “i really enjoyed hanging out with you, and i just wondered if you wanted to do this again sometime?” you’ve never seen him so nervous before, so you let out a small smile with a slightly confused look on your face. “what, like study?” your smile ends up giving him reassurance and just like that his confident demeanor is back. he grabs your hand and says “well that’d be a pretty boring date don’t ya think?” grinning before placing a chaste kiss on your hand.
you look down to try and hide the rosy blush that now plastered your face (too late he already saw it). flustered by his sudden advance you look up and match his confidence arrogance with your own. “alright then, but if i don’t get an A on this test im rejecting you”
“oh like that’s ever gonna happen” you roll your eyes, but he has a point.

I asked @ravingsockmonkey for a music teacher and he gave me a bonus teacher and a cat to boot! Armani (left) is an art lover is one of the most popular teachers in the elementary syndicate at San Myshuno Central Academy. Dennis can play almost any musical instrument you can name and delights in teaching the high school kids the theory of music. Mister Jamison Pouncer III is a CAT.
Other Apartment Dwellers
Interesting request from my dear Kristy, she want me to re making Diego Lobo and also have him a teen sister and maybe 8/9 years old little sister. So here they are. Hope u like them as much as I do 😉 - bloomingkyras
She may have created the Jessica we know and love but that didn't stop me asking the lovely @bloomingkyras if I could have some more! Diego Lobo, you know him, the hot headed art critic that decides what is or isn't on trend for the city. He's so successful that his parents have insisted his two younger sisters move in to his bachelor pad to get a proper education.
Youngest Natasha has standards so she will not be doing gymnastics, that silly class any kid can enter. She does ballet, and she does it much better than anyone else in the class, just ask her. Hot headed like her siblings she will likely clash with sweet mannered Coraline.
Tiffany Lobo (right) is the middle child. Hot headed and high maintanence, the popular girl at San Myshuno Central Academy does have a soft spot for brooding boys...
I cannot wait to see her prancing around your save - deardiaryts4
Okay everyone can we please give @deardiaryts4 a standing ovation for managing to make me a maxis match/mix sim! Pooja Khan (right) is Tiffany's best friend and somewhat of a saint for putting up with her bestie. Together they run the social circuit at the academy.

im the south american anon, thanks for your kind words, i love your account so much ♡. just wondering if you have a guide on how to prepare for a new school year or for 2024, have a wonderful morning/night 💗
GO BACK TO SCHOOL AS HER
ACADEMICS
Try to recreate your ideal study routine before. Study any subject you want using that specific study routine that you can when school opens. This gives you enough time before school starts to make any adjustments needed.
Get a head start. If you do have access to your curriculum or syllabus, read or actively study content on those topics. If you don’t, you can usually search up your class and your state which shows what you’ll be learning.
Experiment with study methods + note-taking. For study methods, search up different ways to effectively study, and pick at least three that appeal to you. Then pick any topic you want, and use those methods to study that topic. See which one worked the best for you and which wasn’t.
For note-taking, search for some ways to take notes, and choose at least 3 that appeal to you. Then watch a video/lecture on any topic, and use those methods to take notes on it. See which ones that worked the best for you.
Create a planner or diary. Use it to keep track of your assessments, assignments due dates, events at school or any after-school activities. This planner would be just purely for school-related things.
I think a digital planner would work best with most students, but some traditional ones are equally as good. It’s up to you to choose how you want to plan your school life, but you need to have at least one planner.
Find a good study website/app. There are so many academic websites/apps out there that can aid you while studying, which are just at your fingertips.
I recommend Duolingo, Quizlet and Khan Academy. Of course, there are so many more out there so I encourage you to explore your options. Some websites are just dedicated to one subject.
Set SMART goals. Set academic goals that are achievable and realistic. Wanting all A’s or 100’s all the time is just way too unrealistic, and the pressure of wanting to reach the standard you set for yourself is just going to stress you out.
Wanting a certain award, or A’s in certain subjects allows you to allocate your focus properly and is within reach. While you should definitely strive for good grades, avoid getting caught up in the mind trap of trying to achieve ‘perfect’ grades.
Create a study place and ritual. Before school starts, choose a place anywhere in which you study regularly. Avoid having more than one, because having just one allows you to settle in and focus better.
If this place is in your house, ensure that the space around it is clean and free of anything that wouldn’t serve you while studying. Plus, you can put up some cute motivational quotes.
A study ritual is habits that you do before studying, that help you while studying. You can create your own of whatever things that help you to be more productive and focused.
HEALTH
Establish a sleep routine early. A week before school preferably, start waking up at the time you’d have to go to school and sleeping at your desired time. This is so that when school starts, you’re not feeling groggy while getting ready because you’ve already adjusted to the time.
Talking about sleep, ensure that you practice good sleep hygiene as quality sleep enhances brain performance and improves energy levels throughout the day.
Plan your meals at school. For us who have canteens or cafes near our schools, we tend to just eat whatever and we forget to nourish our bodies. You still can buy from them, but the night before, try to think about what you can eat for lunch the next day instead of impulsively buying.
Carrying small containers of fruits or vegetables to go with my canteen lunch is my favourite combination.
Carry a water bottle. I used to always forget to stay hydrated during school, so instead of drinking from fountains, I now prefer to carry around my water bottle from class to class.
Wear SPF.
Just having it sitting on my desk while I’m working, reminds me in my mind to drink water. Water also boosts brain performance!
Create a stress management plan. There are going to be times when you feel stressed, but we want to avoid stress impacting our academic performance and mental health.
Before school starts, plan what to do if you feel heavily stressed. This could be like a menu of things you can choose from or a step-by-step guide that you follow through. This plan should contain things that relax you, make you happy and distract you from stress.
Practice good posture. Once school starts, we sit at a desk all day, and most of us forget the proper way to sit while studying/working in class. This can lead to slumping or hunching on a chair, which encourages bad posture.
Remember throughout the day to practice good posture, if you can, put a little reminder on your device. Posture stretches before the school days also help.
Try to incorporate exercise into your schedule. Exercise is frequently neglected when we just have so much studying to do and we’re busy with other activities, but exercise is essential to leading a healthy lifestyle.
The good thing, is you don’t have to do it every day. Doing it 2-3x a week should be enough. Going on walks during lunch/recess, cycling to school or participating in gym are easy ways to incorporate during the school season.
Keep your bag lightweight. Carry the absolute essentials to school, having such a heavy bag can do a number on your back and also affect your posture. If you do have one, try to keep most things in your locker instead of bringing them to and from school.
Engage in social media mindfully. There are so many toxic studying accounts out there that encourage unrealistic expectations or offer harsh ‘motivation’ to students.
Please don’t interact with these types of accounts, even if they provide motivation to you, it is not sustainable at all.
SELF CARE
Choose your favourite way to take a break. Not just once a week, but always take breaks every day. If you want these breaks to be somewhat productive like reading a productivity book or exercising, then go ahead.
However, your breaks can also be ‘unproductive’. Play some games, go online shopping or just take a nap. One break is not better than the other, I just encourage you to take any kind of breaks you want daily.
Plan to engage in hobbies regularly. It is easy to neglect our passions and what brings us happiness when we’re focused on school. If you can, have a chunk of the day just purely for doing hobbies. It can be for 1 hour, 30 minutes or 10.
Or, join an afterschool club that focuses on that specific passion or hobby. Not only is it time for you to engage in the things you enjoy, you meet like-minded people who also enjoy it.
Try to plan things with friends and family. Before school, meet up with your friends or family and do things with them. Once school reopens, opportunities to hang out with your loved ones are scarce. So, do it now.
Create a no-hard productivity day. Plan a day in which you are doing the most minimal amount of productivity that you can. While you can include a few productive things, nothing that is mentally or physically exhausting is allowed on this day.
If you are way too much of a productive or goal-oriented person to spend one day of no hard productivity, create a catch-up day. Choose one day of the week that you focus on completing or doing anything that you didn’t do all the other days.
Keep a journal on you. Sometimes things happen during the school year, and it does cause conflicting or upsetting emotions within us. Creating the practice of journaling before school reopens is a good way for us to process our emotions and situations.
Carry a book you like in your bag or locker. When you finish all of your work in class, or you just want to take a break, you can read a good book. This is also a good alternative to spending your lunches and recesses when you’re not in a sociable mood.
Create a reward system. For example, if I study for x minutes, I can do x for myself. Or I can x grade, and I’ll get x. These don’t have to be big or extravagant rewards, but something simple like one episode of your favourite show can do.
MINDSET CHANGES
Practice a growth mindset. You are going to experience failure at least once (if not more) during your school career. You mustn’t take these experiences to heart, and instead, use them as lessons to encourage self-growth within you.
Practice this mindset now, so that when school reopens, you won’t have a problem with extracting lessons from failures.
Use comparison as a source of inspiration or motivation. It is easy to compare ourselves with our peers, as we are similar ages, but their skills can exceed ours. Instead of using up all of your energy to be envious of the, channel that energy into bettering yourself. Not to beat them, but to beat yourself.
View studying as a time to develop your skills. While yes, we do study to get good grades, studying can help us to grow our other skills as well. We build our discipline, focus and critical thinking as well.
So when you don’t get the best grade from an assessment or assignment, don’t beat yourself up and think all that studying was for nothing. You were building those skills, so next time, you can apply them when you have to study again.
Set firm boundaries with others and yourself. There are times when you just have to say, I have to study. Not just to others, but to yourself. Practice these boundaries before school when it comes to more general productivity.
There is no rejection, just redirection. Change your mindset that rejection is nonexistent, and there is only redirection. Incorporate it in your daily life like;
‘there’s no more stock left of my favourite product, there’s probably something better out there.’
That being said, I’m not saying that if there is a barrier to your goal, you just move on. However, you should not be chasing things that are not meant for you and shift your focus when necessary.
Detach when needed. Stop attaching your value or worth to things that are external and can easily be gone. This doesn’t have to apply to just grades, but also other situations.
Try to start reading or researching about detachment before school reopens.
Time is your most valuable resource, use it to invest wisely. Your teen years are going to be the most suitable time in your life to start investing in yourself.
You have fewer things to worry about(aside from grades) and you have a lot of opportunities now to explore the things that you want. Please, don't spend this time doomscrolling or any other time-wasting activity.

hello, may I ask where are you reading the newest chapters of tcf in english? i've seen screens on your page up to 300+ chapters and on eatapplepies chapters are only up to 200... (part 2 ofc).
Also, what do you think of part 2 in general? I was hesitant to start it since I've heard some negative opinions, is it true there's barely any heartwarming interactions between characters like those from part 1?
I read the raws on Kakaopage and translate it with google translate.
As for me I am thoroughly enjoying part 2 so much! It's been great so far in my opinion and the character interactions are just as I expected.
I think people were disappointed because the Soos didn't have a more "touching" reunion but for me their reunion fits with their feelings right now. They still haven't completely opened up about their feelings about LSH and CJS death and the fact that both of them jave been watching over KRS all this time. Right now they're just content with being reunited again.
Also there were a lot of touching interactions for example between Choi Han and Choi Jung Soo, Sherrit and the Dragon Half Blood, lots of Dad Cale and his children averaging 10-years-old, there was this touching moment of of Lock saying that Cale felt like a father to him, bext arc is going to be more Alberu centred, there was this funny moment where Cale had to give a speach in front of a whole academy and Alberu and Sui Khan were laughing at him because he REALLY didn't want to give that speach, etc.
Also we have gotten a lot of new characters that are instantly becoming some of my favourites like our beloved Heavenly Demon! And honestly because a lot of different genres are being uncluded as Cale travels to different worlds the spoilers I get to give people just keep getting more and more confusing it's hilarious🤣🤣🤣

Just finished the Academy speech arc. EAP translations are only upto 226. Should I stop here and let the chapters pile again? Instead of reading an ongoing chapter and getting confused, like the final 100 chapters of part 1, I think I'd rather come back to it when the Aipotu arc is fully translated.
I did, however, massively enjoy the last twenty or so chapters. Compared to Xiaolen, the Central Plains arc was longer. It was also a little hard to immerse yourself into in the earlier parts. But things started looking up when Heavenly Demon was introduced. From there right up until the defeat of Blood Demon and dealing with the formation and Tsunami, was so engaging.
The Dragon's Tear part was one of my favourites in the Central Plains arc aside from the two Tsunamis. Right from the point Cale and Choi Jung Soo went in and Lee Soo Hyuk and everyone let them be like give two lovers space was hilarious. The dead dragon Maxillienne and the info we got about Aipotu. Cale's Sky Eating Water getting an upgrade of 300%+ and getting three new attacks, as if she wasn't already the strongest of all of his ancient powers. The crown got an upgrade and we finally get the crown that was on the cover of part 2.
Xiaolen gave us the Fire of Destruction at 2500%. That was so iconic. It was a shorter arc in comparison but it gave us something absolutely unforgettable. Central Plains was lengthy and drawn-out at times but it gave us the Emperor of the Sea Kim Hae-il. I guess it's safe to say we came out of both with no regrets.
But from 200-211, these twelve chapters. They have all of my heart. Why?
Because
We are back in Roan! We're back home! It's been so long since we were last home! It was like a hundred and thirty chapters ago! We're reunited with family!
The children are so cute! Raon and Hong my cutie munchkins! Hong rushing out as soon as Cale and co arrived and him and Raon hugging and then spinning in circles. They really are just kids, no matter how vicious they are on the battlefield.
Lily is starting at the academy! And On will too once she decides which one she wants to go to! I wonder if she'll go to academy or end up deciding she's better off being home tutored like now. Regardless, I'm happy for them! (Hong and Lily are the same age, aren't they? I guess Hong will have to start thinking about it seriously soon too.)
Ahn Roh Man face reveal! And he looks like Alver! Except more of a nerd! (Cale's description not mine.) We ended up learning more of his backstory than about the Transparent bloods though. From what we've seen he seems cooperative and chill. But neither Cale nor Alver fully trust him yet. I hope he turns out to be an ally rather than an enemy.
Cale got scolded by his parents for having his head almost go boom boom! The parents are worried! It was hilarious that right after he told his siblings he'll have a chat with them regarding future counselling, Violan tells him he needs to get some life counselling from his parents first. And he felt so helpless that he thought dealing with the God of Balance was less scary sksksksk.
Cale threw Alver under the bus by having him play a video game, and in revenge Alver arranged for Cale to give a speech at the academy. Never piss off the crown prince of the country you yourself are a citizen of.
Him thinking back to the times he was invited to give speeches as Kim Rok Soo, I thought he'd have experience. But turns out all those times got cancelled due to something or another popping up, most often a monster attack. And it's suspicious as it is hilarious. Did that have something to do with the curse or is there more than meets the eye? Also, the way he just jinxed this speech by thinking about a possible terrorist attack. And it did happen afghhajekf
Alver and Sui Khan laughing their asses off at Cale walking up to the podium.
Right as we hypothesised the Five coloured bloods might be Wanderers, a wanderer shows up and warns Cale not to meddle more than he already has. Basically confirming the hypothesis.
The wanderer called Cale "child of the Thames". But was he talking about Cale Henituse or the soul within... I'm sorry I'm gonna be thinking about it A LOT.
Of course Cale pulled out his shield at a time of crisis and restored their faith in him. The arc is, after all, titled "Young Master Silver Shield, return of the legend"
Alver and Cale had a miscommunication and instead of stepping down and letting the crown prince handle it, Cale ended up saying something that gave both of them headaches.
Actually the whole time he was at the podium was legendary. "Nice to meet you" followed by "Fuck" i died laughing there. Then his "The shield will not break" to calm the crowds which he himself ended up cringing at afterwards. And then basically telling the masses that all the times recently he has been absent was because he was fighting the enemies aiming for, not just their kingdom, but their world, followed by congratulating the kids on starting at Academy, and then walking off all cool and charismatic.
This needed a special mention of its own. When he walked down the podium and undid the first button of his shirt as he walked away, and the administrators lowered their eyes. It wasn't mentioned but you know they were blushing.
I'm literally all over the place but I needed to make this list of everything I loved in this small arc.
I also see a pattern. At the end of part 1 Cale met God of Death, at the end of Xiaolen arc he met Fire of Purification, at the end of Central Plains arc he met God of Balance and God of Hope. Who's next? I really look forward to him meeting God of Protection, our very own Super Rock.
(One thing I'm confused about though, why is the owner of Dominating Aura talked about as if he isn't literally Choi Jung Gun?)
I'm so hyped for the Five coloured bloods and the King's successor reveals. I feel like they're gonna be harder to deal with. Especially the King's successor. That old man on Central Plains compared Cale to him except that guy carries much more despair inside him compared to Cale and that fucking says a lot.

I only started my ST TOS reading journey. What would you absolutely recommend from the ST TOS novels you’ve read so far?
I would say Diane Duane’s The Wounded Sky and Spock’s World are my two favourites, of all the books I’ve read so far. They have such a fun Enterprise, I love how real and loved the universe felt, and literally the cutest Jim Kirk I’ve ever read. Also some fun Amanda and Sarek moments in Spock’s World (there’s nothing little about my husband…)
My Enemy, My Ally & the Rihannsu books by Diane Duane (and Peter Morwood for the second book!) are a lot of fun. The first book has my beloved Ensign Naraht, everyone gets into Shenanigans, and there are some really scary Vulcans. The second book has McCoy in the midst of some tomfoolery, and the series as a whole has a lot of fantastic world building.
The Vulcan Academy Murders by Jean Lorrah made me die a little because I do love Sarek and Spock’s relationship, and it does some really cute stuff with the family dynamics. There’s a second book called The IDIC Epidemic. I liked both books, though The Vulcan Academy Murders was my favourite.
The Pandora Principle by Carolyn Clowes has Spock basically being the most awkward but excellent teacher/guardian to Saavik, they are so damn cute.
Vonda McIntyre’s The Entropy Effect was also a lot of fun- Spock has to try and avert a disaster in the timeline, and just has a Bad Time.
Yesterday’s Son and Time for Yesterday by A.C Crispin are about what would happen if Spock had a child by Zarabeth in the past, and they do jab you right in the emotions. Everyone’s a bit older in these ones (pre Wrath of Khan, I think).
I know a big fuss is made over Killing Time, The Fate of the Phoenix, and The Price of the Phoenix for how they’ve portrayed Kirk and Spock’s relationship, and they’re certainly fun books but I don’t know that they’re ones that I would choose to revisit too frequently? Diane Duane’s books have a chokehold on me, I’ll be honest- I keep going back to my favourite parts, and my copy of My Enemy My Ally has a billion sticky tabs in it to remind me of things I thought were neat.
It was actually surprisingly difficult to come up with a list of suggestions! I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten something, lol. Thank you for the ask I enjoyed working on my answer!!
