very in love with the way that on one hand odile is a very intelligent, knowledgable, mature, level-headed adult and then on the other she. she chirps and baah's back at the animals when you talk to them. she nya's just to get a reaction out of the party. she has the kind of laugh where when someone is amused they don't just chuckle it's like that loud burst of a laugh that "HA!" type of laugh we all know someone with that type of laugh. sometimes she's like "we don't have time for this" and sometimes she's like "we don't have time for this... ... is what i'd USUALLY say but we should give our brains a break from the whole impending doom of the country scenario." you know. like all of the characters in ISAT have several dimensions and feel very human and dynamic but just focusing on odile for a moment... beloved odile... :,)

Regulus Black was drowning. The icy grip of the Inferi drags him under, water flooding his lungs, darkness swallowing him whole. He doesn’t fight it. He’s done what he came to do. At least this death is his own choice.

Then—nothing.

He doesn't know what to feel. Everything felt so numb, so tiring . He almost wanted to wish that the process was quicker. But then—

James.

James Potter, the sun of his life. Regulus' whole world had revolved around him at one point, so how did he end up here? Darkness was ever consuming around him, hurling and threatening to capture him. Suddenly, he didn't want that. He wanted James.

Movements became frantic. He pushed and pulled, limbs a mess as they moved violently. He tried and tried, but it was all darkness, darkness, darkness.

And then—light.

He stumbles forward, gasping, but the water is gone. No cavern, no Inferi, no locket. Instead, the gleaming arches of Platform 9¾ stretch around him, the air thick with the scent of steam and distant laughter.

In front of him stands James Potter, hand outstretched in greeting. His features were softer, younger. Nostalgia hit him as he remembered the very moment from before.

Regulus didn't think. He lunged forward, gripping James in a desperate hug, hands fisting in his robes like an anchor. James stiffened—startled, confused—but after a heartbeat, his arms come around Regulus, steady and warm.

"Alright, mate," James murmurs, his voice steady, familiar. "You're safe."

Regulus clinged harder, chest heaving. He doesn’t know where—when—he is.

But for the first time in a long time, he isn’t alone.

Rosekiller ice skating date in which Evan isn’t the worst at skating but will fall if distracted, and Barty who cannot skate to save his life and falls every minute, therefore distracting Evan and causing him to fall as well. Meanwhile Pandora is skating circles around them because one, she’s there at the rink for like… no reason, and two, she’s scarily good at ice skating for again, no reason

Eddie posts a Tiktok of him, Steve, and Robin waiting for Nancy outside of a restaurant after a double date. Eddie pans the camera around but lands on Steve, spacing out as he eats a bag of skittles.

He reaches for the skittles but Steve moves the bag out of his reach without looking at him.

Eddie sighs loudly and looks directly at the camera: I literally spent four years watching this guy buy school lunch just to pass it out to his dipshit friends who had their own lunches.

Eddie: Then I spent the next thirty years watching him do the same for the kids, the band, his students, literal strangers, but when I -love of his life, light of his world- wants one skittle…

Steve: I gave you half my burger

Eddie, reaching for the skittles again: And it was delicious. I want a yellow skittle

Steve, holding the bag over his head and out of Eddie’s reach: A yellow one? That’s the worst one!

Eddie scoffs at both his statement and that Steve thinks his one inch height advantage will stop him. Eddie goes for the attack, Steve blocks, and the video gets shaky as they play a game of keep-away.

All you get a bunch of movement, some grunting, and a lot of laughter until Steve steps back off the curb and they both trip into the parking lot. It’s more or less a controlled fall, they go down but they go slowly with nothing worse than a tear in the knee of Eddie’s jeans.

They’re still laughing as the camera footage levels out. You can only see Robin digging through her purse and not Eddie’s hard won battle for yellow skittles.

Robin looks up sharply and asks, “Did you steal my skittles?”

Steve: Nah, I think Eddie took ‘em

Gymnast! Dorcas Meadowes

The fourth addition to the Olympics AU! I originally was going to put Dorcas on the Canadian Gymnastics team but I decided I liked her in the green leotard rather than red. Also I feel like Brazilian Dorcas just makes so much sense. I imagine her talking to Marlene in Portuguese and Marlene just melting on the spot.

i read a fic a long time ago where barty was italian (we love italian barty on this blog !!!) and he gives nicknames to everyone he likes and I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH IT.

he calls regulus tesoro/caro, pandora piccola, evan amore/rosa/fiore, and dorcas dolcezza.

i also think that it pisses his friends’ partners (more specifically james and marlene).

james has always been a little jealous fella but it goes beyond when its barty we’re talking about (its kinda barty’s fault). the bloke can’t stop himself from taunting james by saying things like “i had regulus first” or “did regulus ever tell you about the summer of fourth year?”. so him having a nickname for darling regulus just sets james off more.

but marlene…

oh sweet marlene’s reasons are quite different. she gets irked by it because she DOESN’T have one. when she and dorcas had dated for a good amount of time and she was introduced to the pantheon barty quite liked her. she was funny, always kept it real, and kept his wits about him.

he treated marlene (to some extent as he would say) as a good friend. she would have had her nickname given by now but being as she is considered as a friend by barty crouch jr. it would mean that she had to deal with him being a little menace to her life as all his friends do (a good example of this would be regulus who somehow will always find that one of his socks will be missing its pair). and the form of her little minuscule personal hell served by barty is NOT getting a nickname and just being called “mckinnon” for the rest of her days.
