“Marian, please,” desperation laced Sir Guy’s voice as he sheathed his blade, stepping closer to the woman who was defending King Richard in Robin Hood’s absence. “Let me get to the king,” he pleaded, holding his hands up in show that he was unarmed now.

“GISBORNE!” Yelled the sheriff, drawing his blade and power walking over to Sir Guy and Lady Marian. Guy whirled around, unsheathing his own blade and standing in front of Marian and King Richard protectively.

“I will not let the best hope for England’s future die while I still breath,” Sir Guy hissed, hoping Marian heard it — hoped Marian believed it. Vaisey swung his blade at Guy, being easily parried by the younger man, then having Guy’s blade at his neck.

“Hood may not be willing to kill you, but I am,” Guy seethed as he reached to turn Marian away — “Marian, look away,” — then sliced through the sheriff’s throat with a sense of release only rivaled by the release of death in a lover’s arms. Vaisey choked, eyes bugging out at Guy as he gripped his bleeding throat.

As a dying sheriff fell to his knees, Guy whirled around to look at Marian to make sure she was safe and unharmed. “Marian, I am sorry I had to do that with you present,” he told her, searching her beautiful face for her reaction.

“I am loyal to England, and that means I will side with those who have England’s people’s interests in mind with their actions,” he expanded, looking up to King Richard and bowing momentarily out of respect before turning his attention to Marian.

“I have to take you somewhere safer than Nottingham,” he informed her, “for your sake and Hood’s ability to do his work.” And I still love you, he left unsaid.

dandad au where jason never reveals to the bats tgat he's alive: they find out because mar'i grayson and the twins go to the same kindergarten/pre school and become insanely close. they try to set up a playdate and dick fights jason because he thinks he's a clone.

It was on sight. I gotta say when Jason never reveals his identity to the batfam is one of my favorite tropes.

Starfire and Dan were picking up their kids from kindergarten and noticed the other wasn't exactly human and that their kiddos got along and set up a playdate without realizing that their partners were Dick or Jason. After the whole fight happens there is a long talk and tears(mostly Dick), Dick and Starfire are the only ones that found out about Jason so far.
