Okay so this is in the same AU I had last year its just changed and evolved while also being the exact same. Except now I have 15,000 words of it written, like 7,000 words of planning and lore and hours upon hours of research that I will be pointedly ignoring. Will be posting more stuff this month about the AU and my hopes and dreams for it

It’s Marinette as a mermaid and … its not Adrien or Chat Noir but a third worse thing (Catwalker but in the purest manifestation of it being a curse and not who he wants to be) I will be making designs for mer!Ladybug, and mer!Adrien as its own thing later on.

Old mermaid designs first. I am going to be talking about my design thoughts, thoughts and ramblings about this AU and what I’ve been up to. You have been warned

As you can see, some things have changed but neither design I hated, I just wanted to go further with it.

My brain is quite specific about mermaids and how I want them to generally look. I wanted to distinguish biological merfolk from transformed humans by having them being anatomically different. So Adrien has a vertical tail instead which is also way faster underwater. His transformation is quite distressing for him and very chaotic. Of course when he accepts it he’s not so raggedy.

Marinette similarly avoids her life as a mermaid by becoming human and I wanted her mermaid design to hint toward her fascination with humans. She wears a top she fashioned from human fabric she found in a sunken merchant vessel. In general all other merfolk either forgo clothes or wear things fashioned from materials available to them. There’s deep fear of humans and human things so even though human clothes are available to them (off dead bodies but…. Whatever) they choose to difference themselves as much as possible. The same taboos don’t exist for them and their bodies are already adapted from the temperature of their environment. Adrien has stray bits of netting and seaweed on him because he’s not exactly the best at controlling his speed and often crash’s through fishing nets and patches of seaweed resulting in stuff being caught on him.

A lot of their designs are still being worked but I’ve definitely pushed them the right direction!

On to the AU. You might have seem me cryptically talk about something I’m writing the past few weeks. This is because it’s been in my brain since last May and been on and off writing it since then. I decided I’d talk about it once May came back around but and then when I finished writing it, start posting sneak peaks and more spoilery art until it was fully edited and I felt confident in it to post with an aim for it to finish posting once May rolled around again. Oh god.

It’s set in the late 1700s in a fictional version of France that’s actually fragmented over a bunch of islands. I have done more fashion research than I ever thought I’d do and in the end we will still be taking creative license but know I do know what they actually wore! I ALSO did a butt tonne of research about sailing ships and turns out they are super complicated and now I know too much and yet too little still about them. It should be super fun and action packed if I can manage. Have some really good scenes already in my head I know you’ll love. We’re already three ships battle deep and I’ve only written four chapters. (It chills out for a bit after that)

This is entirely self-indulgent by the way. I’m writing this for me, you guys are just a bonus. I literally don’t care as long as it satiates my rabid need for the fic that only lives in my brain at the moment. Saying that, I do want to put my best foot forward.

The next thing I will be posting for this is their human forms and more blabblerings about that. For I am insane and all.

Okay, okay, hear me out:

Spy x Family AU, except Marinette is Loid & Adrien is Yor.

Marinette & Loid both have this alternate self that is very calculative & has the urge to plan out every possible outcome of a situation so they're not caught off guard. Not to mention that both of them have this very strong sense of justice and, each in their own way, are trying to make the world around them a better & safer place. However, both of them also have this other side that is gentle and kind and, essentially, a softy (though this shows more in Marinette bc, well, she hasn't been through the things Loid has been).

Then we have Adrien, who, like Yor, is outwardly sweet & cheerful and doesn't have a clue what to do with Life (TM). But he also has a dark & deadly side, which makes him absolutely consider dirtying his hands if he thought he was protecting the ppl he loves (*cough* derrision *cough*). I can totally see him become an assassin if it was the only thing he could do to protect his loved ones & bring food to the table, esp if he was taught to do that from a young age.

Also, some of my other headcanons for this AU (and pls beware of possible spoilers for sxf if u aren't caught up or want to watch):

- Emma would be Anya, obv, and like Anya, she has telepathic powers and can read her parents' minds. (Side note: I was considering making Emma a creation of the peacock miraculous & for that to be the reason she has her telepathy powers, but then I realized the miraculous existing in this AU might not make much sense, so I'm putting it on the backburner. If anybody wants to explore that, though, be my guest!)

- The plushy u see in Emma's hands in my drawing is Tikki, which is the equivalent of Mr. Chimera in the anime (however, alternatively, The Handler could be Tikki & in turn, The Shopkeeper could be Plagg. But going with my initial idea...)

- The cat in the picture, then, would be Plagg, who is the equivalent of Bond. However, unlike Bond, Plagg is a little shit & he knows it & therefore gives Marinette a lot of grief. But he's very cute when he wants to be, and Emma is very set on keeping him, so Marinette resorts to silent psychological warfare with him. Surprisingly, Plagg is pretty chill when it comes to Adrien to everyone's surprise.

- Just like Bond, Plagg also has psychic powers. However, I can just see him hissing in annoyance everytime a vision pops up. :D

- Adrien is secretly an assassin who exterminates traitors with his special dagger(s) that he calls 'Cataclysm'.

- Marinette is a spy who is tasked with getting close to her target, Chloe Bourgeois. She has a customized gun that she prefers to use that she calls her 'lucky charm'.

- Also, the same as the anime, Marinette's agent name is 'Ladybug' & Adrien's is 'Chat Noir'.

- Chloe is Marinette's target (I know Desmond & Gabriel are crazy similar, but I think it'd be pretty weird to have Gabe & Adrien in the same universe & for them to not be related).

- Chloe has 2 children: a twin son & daughter who r attending the same prestigious school. The daughter (which I haven't chosen a name for) is the equivalent of Becky & the son (which I also don't know the name of) is the equivalent of Damian.

- Chloe's daughter lives with her father (who I imagine is Luka bc it's a guilty ship of mine, but eh), but she also pays for her child support and education, so her daughter was raised like a princess and therefore has the same princess tendencies as Becky.

- Chloe's son is still pretty much the same as Damian, so not much to add there. (Yes, exactly like Damian. If you know, you know :) )

- Lastly, I will leave you with this out of pocket notion: Felix as Yuri and Kagami as Fiona (and yes, I very much ship them, even in this AU :) )

DnD Con AU: A variant of my Con AU! Cala helps Dream escape the prison without having knowledge who he is and dnd shenanigans ensue within the Five Kingdoms of the Esempi. However her, Dream, Fundy and her wife Spooky make the most chaotic group and just try to figure out what to do.

Digitial Friend AU: Modern day AU where XD and Callahan used to make old style desktop buddies in the early 2000s that were the dsmp characters, but deleted most of their existence of it abruptly. Decades later a very tired and reclused Cala finds a downloader of them after going down a rabbit hole and one by one interacts with them and realizes these aren't just some old programs someone made. Also she's apartment neighbors with XD and Callahan :) This is horror centric so be warned

TMA DSMP AU: The magnus archives but dsmp! A lot of fear entity stuff involving the characters and cala; Dream is an 'archvist' but when he mysteriously disappears and after Cala suffers an accident everyone keeps telling her he doesnt exist. She just wants to find her friend. This is very horror centric and unsettling so be warned

Call of Cthulhu AU: After Quackity and Sam get into an argument with the two prisoners (Cala and Dream), the four of them realize they are trapped inside the prison and are forced to work together. This is EXTREMELY horror based and will have unsettling content, and it is based off the call of cthulhu system -- basically the antithesis of the dnd con au

Noir AU: After Cala is witness to a murder, they go to a detective named Techno and convince to protect them as well as to help them figure out what is happening within the city. Just very classic detective/noir style vibes.

Penpal AU: After noticing an ominous app on her phone, Wren couldn't help but to be wary of where it came from. That is until her power went out and she ended up seeing a message from a complete stranger. Little does she know what she dragged herself into, and how terrifying the circumstances are when she had replied. AKA an au where Dream talks to someone from another dimension and ends up going there. And it doesnt go great. This AU has some very unsettling topics and graphic details that involve bugs and death and also unhealthy relationships, please be careful when reading.

Ghost AU: AU where Dream died in prison! Dre is a ghost who gets summoned by Cala and he basically haunts her while she's trying to focus on real life stuff. This AU does have horror and just very heavy bug themed so be warned

Assassin's Creed AU: AU where in the past Dream's ancestor is an infamous assassin and Cala's ancestor ran an apothecary. They both form an unlikely friendship and unrequited love but it ends tragically. Fast Forward to the present Cala and Dream are coworkers and they meet after the elevator breaks down, and later when a mutual friend lets them introduce each other. A lot of hidden secrets and some conspiracy between friends with this au (this is a very new au so i am roughing out the kinks)

Alright I have decided to update my list after my Whumptober adventures 'n such. Seeing people post their AU lists makes me want to get my current ones arranged :D

An Index of Codes (current AUs for CL that I'm messing around with):

Parallels/Disparate - very old AU that feat. Odd constantly cycling through time loops, the ending leading to Disparate where the gang knows and is aiming to solve this while defeating XANA in S4.

Bizarre Guide - AU where Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi are AI. Jeremie and the other students at Kadic try to help them & Aelita learn how to be human.

Loneliest Life - William/Odd roleswap AU, canon Odd teleports into the alternate world (Teleportation glitching) and is trying to get back home... although, can he resist trying to help fix this mess his other self landed in?

Trade My Life - Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi obtain a virus at the end of Season 1 instead of Aelita. Non-linear snippets explore the aftermath for the Lyoko Warriors.

tip of the brush - XANA targets Odd for his artistic abilities. A cat-boy wakes up in control of his own world, unknowing of who he was meant to be. Both parties seek to remedy this. This may/may not have a William/Odd/Ulrich ship.

Cherrybird - Odd wields the Ladybug Miraculous and still decides to help out to defeat XANA. Juggling two heroic lives with his own new school life isn't exactly sane...

Bystander - Odd never takes Kiwi to Kadic. Ulrich wants to keep the one piece of normalcy in his life, despite the problems that come with this. UlrOdd shipping ensues.

Can we Restart? - The Evolution group are trapped in an endless time loop dragging them back to the day Jeremie turned on the supercomputer. After countless times trying to break this with distressingly lack of concern for themselves, XANA decides enough is enough. A chaotic team-up occurs.

Such a Charmer - William crushes on Odd instead of Yumi in S2. Likely a five times William realizes he's in love with Odd, and the one where Odd reciprocates. :)

Done in Halves - After their first time in Lyoko, the gang come to realize their avatars possess their own consciousnesses. They're not exactly... quaint. In fact, they seem to agree with XANA's beliefs.

Tangled Strings - Soulmate AU; Odd is ecstatic to have three soulmates. The problem is uh, they seem to never get along. Great. (i.e. Odd/William/Ulrich/Yumi, yes I'm diving into the deep end, and yes Jeremie/Aelita have their own struggles on the side looool)

Replacement - Jim's been trying non-stop to locate the sneaky dog on campus. Odd has to send Kiwi back home for a bit until the heat cools down. He's bummed out and Jeremie lets him borrow Kiwi 2 so they can trick Jim into thinking this was the dog all along. Of course, XANA can never resist an opportunity that presents itself.

brick by boring brick - this particular story blends CL and Ben 10 a bit. Odd has the Omnitrix AU & Kiwi is more than he seems. They arrive at Kadic late into the semester due to some strange circumstances, and it slowly becomes clear to Odd that this school isn't exactly normal. Ulrich wishes that his roommate was normal but it seems like nothing can go his way.

Lore Dump + More

Well, I'm back at it again- with more hyperfixation brainrot and nonsense. I realize I haven’t actually started writing anything; at least in the form of a fanfiction because most of the ideas are larger projects and will take time to complete. Though I know people are interested- the fandom hasn’t died, so I figured why not treat the audience?

To summarize again, Secret Origins is the five-part series ft. the first interactions with the main fandoms of this idea. Before their alliance, they weren’t even aware each other existed- that is until a vacation trip by the Fenton’s to Paris, France changed everything. And that is where our story begins.

Fair warning: I’m going to try and avoid spoilers- as I want this to be a new experience, even though obviously I’m not the first creator of the Secret Quartet but where’s the fun if I just reveal everything in one go?

The Lore Dump

The Kwamis have been there since the very creation of the universe. Each of them represent a different core concepts and abstracts, and work alongside a selected hero to protect their chosen home. They are divine beings with special powers, to say the least; currently not all of the Kwamis are in use- the active heroes are predominantly in Paris, France, but what they don’t know is that another world is hidden under their very eyes

Unlike Amity Park, Paris does not have as many ghosts- though none have ever seen one to begin with; this might have something to do with the fact that the Miraculous can’t cause any damage unto the ghostly population - only to humans - at least as far as anyone’s concerned

Natural portals have been known to appear around the world, but not everyone knows where to find them. Normally, they’re harmless- but at the same time, it’s entirely possible something unwanted comes out through the other side

Ghosts do have haunts and obsessions; normally their obsession is based on unfinished business they didn’t complete in life- other times, it’s more based on a duty they feel obligated to complete

Haunts however, are areas they have claimed as their own. While it isn’t as commonly known, ghosts are considered to be territorial- they will defend their haunt no matter what (author’s cut: in Danny’s case, since he’s only leaving for a week- Sam and Tucker are being left in charge of watching over Amity Park; also i do feel that because Danny’s still human, he doesn’t fully need a haunt- but he is still protective of his the city)

(implied spoilers!) there are safety mechanisms (of sorts) in place when a hero with magical abilities is gravely injured- do with this what you will for now

Akumas can’t affect ghosts! It wouldn’t transform them- it can however, work on other things (iykyk- leaving this vague for the time being)

Character Dynamics + Headcanon Dump

I’m honestly excited for the first meeting between Danny and our Parisian heroes- (without giving away too many spoilers, let’s just say there’s going to be a bit of miscommunication at first)

Due to plot-related reasons, the characters in Paris can speak English. There would be classes to teach English at the high school-

Phan Noir is not a ship tag- at least not for this AU. Danny and Chat Noir however, will be close friends- not only because of their share of puns but honestly I feel they would understand each other’s, well, problems. Is this a bit self indulgent? Maybe, who’s to say

Marinette is not stalking Adrien in this; she’s still pining on him a little bit, and does keep the occasional tab on him but she’s not chasing his every move- however, she’s still young and a bit inexperienced which brings me to my next point

I haven’t figured out the full timeline- but I do think that Mari’s either already the guardian, or her responsibilities are increasing with her status as Ladybug; now the deal with this is Mari’s proven to be a bit anxious- she takes her role very seriously, and honestly this will hinder her at first

Gabriel Agreste is not written to be a good person. Does he love Adrien? I’d say yes, he does but at the same time- he’s not meant to be likable. His pursuits aren’t done with anyone’s best intentions, and this is going to be addressed (of course this is fanon- and this is my au, so… in short, don’t take this wrongly-)

As mentioned before, Phantom Planet does not exist in this timeline- this does happen sometime between mid-season two (maybe somewhat later) of Danny Phantom. Danny has his experience but he is still a teenager- and not all of his powers have fully developed. After all, not much is known about halfas

Danny is getting something of a makeover- is it a bit self indulgent? Yes- I honestly liked his style from Phantom Planet, though I’m mostly referring to the white streak in his hair. His eyes also appear a bit more… bright even as a human; though I’m going to spare the whole redesign/makeover rant for now-

I feel Marinette and Danny might take a while to warm up to each other, but they’re not exactly enemies- the differences in personality sort of hinder their dynamic at times, though at the end of the day, they would protect each other

For the time being, i can’t say anything on the villains- as this is a big thing that will affect the full team of teen superheroes. Hints and revelations are going to be made as the series progresses

Danny struggles a bit with his emotions- the more emotional he becomes, the worse his powers get out of control. He’s still adjusting; he’s gotten better but at the same time- he’s also a teenager and this will show with his behavior

Adrien is not a sentimonster. Will sentimonsters be a thing? Potentially- though as of right now, sentimonsters aren’t inherently canon to the Secret Origins lore

(author’s cut: I’ll update this later! Of course- right now this is only limited to Danny Phantom and Miraculous Ladybug; as more gets developed with later parts and arcs, I’ll add more details)

What fandoms do you write for? Wrestling

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Pretty much always. I'll take any excuse to blab on about my fics and the thought processes behind them! Also, I appreciate anyone taking the time to write a comment and want to give a little something back.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Don't know, never looked.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Kinda. I consider Valets co-written as it's a request fic, so the readers had a lot of input and I've talked before about how big a contribution @my-intrests makes to the valetverse. Also Lonely Souls, was a request fic so I got given the bare bones of the story and added on the meat.

What's your all-time favourite ship? I'm more than just a tad feral about Punkintyre, but really it's Punklee, with Underpunk being a close second.

What are your writing strengths? Umm... I have no idea. I enjoy writing suffering? And drama? Not sure, if I'm good at them though... World-building, maybe? I enjoy crafting different AUs.

What are your writing weaknesses? Editing, proof-reading in particular.

First fandom you wrote for? Weirdly enough, it was wrestling, but the first time around when I was about 12 years old. I have an old notebook where I wrote stories about Stone Cold, the Rock... and a self-insert OC called the Pebble. Don't worry, there was nothing sexual but it's still pretty embarrassing!
