Secret Origins: Masterlist

Okay, this is your captain Ghost speaking with more updates on this blog! I am slowly figuring out how this works, but I wanted to make a masterlist for the Secret Origins verse!

This is going to be a slow process though it’ll include links to the fanfiction, a potential discord server, lore, and so much more! I haven’t done this kind of thing often, so please bear with me if it isn’t immediately perfect.

Secret Origins is a passion project started by a fan (me!) and is meant to be for other fans. However, I’m the only moderator behind this account which means this is going to be self indulgent! The alternate universe crosses Danny Phantom, American Dragon: Jake Long, Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja, and Miraculous Ladybug into the same world. Following their unexpected encounter, they decide to team up in order to take on bigger threats. However, “Secret Origins” is the prequel to something bigger.

In other words, Secret Origins is almost like MCU where there are mini storylines that weave into a main one! And with that, let’s get right to the fun, yes?

SECRET ORIGINS SYNOPSIS

An unexpected trip to Paris for the Fenton’s causes a chain of reactions no one thought possible. Phantom discovers there are other heroes, and Secret Origins follows how the “Secret Quartet” was formed, consisting of Danny Phantom, Jake Long, Adrien Agreste, and Randy Cunningham. However when they’re confronted with new dangers, well, it’s only a matter of time before trouble follows them as it always. Of course, they’ll also have the rest of their expanding team to back them up.

Secret Origins is inspired off of the alternate universe “Secret Trio” though has its own lore and information.

Are you willing to enter a world beyond your imagination? Only one way to find out…

MAIN CHARACTERS

Randy Cunningham: Randy’s your average, normal teenager… right? Wrong! What Norrisville doesn’t know is that he’s also the current Ninja, and there have been others before him. Though his world is about to get a whole lot bigger.

Danny Phantom: Danny’s life was quite ordinary… at least until an accident in his parents’ basement caused him to become a halfa, an odd phenomena making him half-human, half-ghost. Now, he’s also the hero, Phantom, and is ready to kick butt.

Jake Long: Amidst New York is a hidden protector of the magical world: the American Dragon. For Jake Long, being a shapeshifting teenager is nothing crazy! At least until he ends up pulled into something he never thought possible… and bringing up the rear is…

Adrien Agreste: Adrien Agreste is a boy who seemingly has it all: money, fame, brought up in a rich family but what Paris, France, doesn’t know is that he’s Chat Noir! He’s quite used to the hero life until something opens a new door and who knows what come out of that?

Supporting Characters

Marinette Dupain-Cheng: Marinette is Adrien’s partner-in-heroics. As the current holder of the Ladybug Miraculous, protecting Paris isn’t easy until she meets another hero who comes from another country and well, things won’t be the same.

Okay, so.

I know Secret Trio is not at the hype it used to be in, buuuttt since Secret Origins has gotten quite the bit of attention - I was wondering if anyone might want to see a server for it?

I’m hoping to see this series eventually reach its end at some point but well, hyperfixation is as hyperfixation does. I want to see this crossover at its entirety, but seriously would anyone want to join a discord server?

SECRET QUARTET UPDATES

I was waiting impatiently for the poll to finish and dare I say, I have never been more excited for the next part- especially because this is set after the first installation. Now, one thing I'm sure all of you are curious about: can ghosts be stanked?

Much like what I said about Akumas, no- this simply isn't possible for, well, a few reasons but that will come later, so you'll just have to wait! (as for halfas, the answer to that question is also being left ambiguous-)

This does mean that whatever happens in the next part won’t be involving ghosts being affected by the Sorcerer’s magic- now whether ghosts exist inside Norrisville, well, we’ll just have to see won’t we? I do like to think ghosts aren't a common phenomenon everywhere because of other reasons

For now, these are my current forming ideas. Either Danny ends up in Norrisville somehow (which would be partially dependent on the timeline-), or Randy is sent to Amity Park as a result of... other reasons. This is a bare minimum draft to say the least and I have some stuff that will be included immediately and the rest will be added in as the series continues!

I will say that Danny’s going to be having a time if he’s the one to arrive in Norrisville. Poor Danny gets to go through the burner during a lot of this- he is one of the protagonists after all hahaha

Though I decided to use this time to explain some of the lore and information about this AU people are still interested in (which I’m admittedly surprised about-), so without much further ado- let's get right to the point!

Also, one last thing before I start: this takes place before the season two finale of RC9GN for what I feel is kind of obvious, but moving on-

Lore Dumping + Headcanons

Something that was canonized in the first installation: not all heroes are aware of another- due to certain restrictions and, well, some magic of the universe... a lot of the organizations basically were sanctioned off to specific locations as a way of maintaining the peace. What this means is that clashing will go down at first- perhaps not between the main heroes but say, a certain council with other groups but we'll get to that later

Norrisville does not have a high concentration of ghostly energy since there isn't a portal (natural portals are an entirely different story; i'm more referring about something like what's at fenton works-). This didn't really need to be said but just in case! I'm shoving it into the lore dump anyway

Randy faces a lot of pressure just for being the Ninja but without the added knowledge of other heroes- he's genuinely living the best life and having fun while still being the protector, though we all know this won't last. I also will say this is going to explore the whole thing with the tengu but I'm not sure how much just yet-

Could someone else be shloomped inside the Nomicon? Hahaha, you'll find out later- I thought about saying it, but decided to hold myself back for now. I will say this: the Nomicon is still a sentient being and, well, who is able to go inside it (since technically, in one of the episodes, Howard did but I'm not sure how far into the RC9GN 'canon' it's set in-) has some rules to it

Danny and Randy are obviously different in terms of personality- having them work together is going to come with its challenges, but I do think they'd have a good partnership going. They just have to get comfortable with one another

I'm trying to keep myself from saying things about future installations lol, but- I will say that so far, Vlad has zero connections to Norrisville. This one-shot is going to be a little different and that's all I'm going to say for the time being

If anyone's curious about the difference in strength between Danny and Randy- well, their methods of combat are different so, do with this what you will for now :)

As of right now, there are no confirmed ships within the series! To be honest, I don't fully see it as important but it may show- just... not right this second

So far, this is all I got! It's getting a little late and I am honestly really tired which means posting will have to wait until later, but do expect more content soon! I am very excited for the continuation of this project to say the least!

little update

i know this fic hasn't garnered a lot of traction, but i am genuinely very excited for the rest of the secret origins verse- though honestly, i am still trying to figure out what direction to take it. i also want to thank those who found my fic via ao3, even if they do not have a tumblr because holy shit i was not expecting this kind of a reaction (?) - words are hard right now, i am so sorry heh

though i will say that things are going to be very interesting for the remaining four parts; of course, secret origins is only one small part of a much larger story and i am off the walls bouncing about it- that being said, i am genuinely struggling what fandoms will be overlapped in the next one, so i figured i could leave it up to poll

(I realize American Dragon x Miraculous isn't an option, but I am holding off on that one for now- I can't think of anything for it at the moment although I do have plans on how to connect the magical world in ADJL and the Kwamis of Miraculous. That however, is spoilers and we'll be covering that in future fics!)

I probably will be opening up an FAQ later on down the line! That is, if I get enough people interested in this idea!

For now, I'll probably be working on the sidelines to write the lore because holy shit do I have plans- between the Sorcerer in RC9GN to the Dark Dragon from American Dragon, there's so much left to happen. Without much further ado, I will leave this here!

(this fic is a mess but i love it sm- i haven't written in a little while, i'm trying here-)

Morning hit unexpectedly, a half-groan leaving his lips as he blearily sat upright and took in his surroundings. The hotel was definitely luxurious but honestly it felt a little too suffocating for Danny’s tastes- which of course, led to him trying to find something else to do. Jazz had heard from someone there was this little bakery somewhere close by; there was seemingly nothing happening, and well, he was growing frustrated with the silence. Of course, he couldn’t expect this place to be like Amity Park but it was too still- it felt too peaceful. 

Rounding the corner, he paused as the wafting scent of scones and macarons filled the air. Danny could feel his mouth water, as his stomach rumbled- he still had the secondary effects of jet lag and he needed something to eat. Not to mention, the bakery was clearly well taken care of and looked like those made-from-scratch diners he recalled seeing back home.

First Installation to the five-part Secret Origins storyline!

With a stifled yawn, he made his way to the kitchen- still a bit groggy but he rubbed his eyes, attempting to pull himself out of the weird funk before speaking, “mornin’-” 

“Danny, sweetie, there you are!” Maddie exclaimed, giving her son a warm smile. She was dressed in a simpler version of her jumpsuit, clearly bustling about a little as she spotted Danny who was still in his pajamas. “Are you excited for the summer?”

“Mhm- I was hoping to go see Sam and Tucker soon,” Danny replied, only to pause at the sudden half-frown on Maddie’s face. 

“I didn’t tell you? Sweetie-” Maddie paused before continuing, “we’re going on a week long trip out of the country.” 

Wait, what. 

Danny blinked- a faint chuckle bubbled up from his throat, staring at his mom like she had suddenly grown a second head. Why hadn’t he been told about this sooner? Amity Park was his haunt, and he couldn’t just leave it behind.

“I don’t understand,” he got out, tilting his head in confusion. “What’s the occasion?”

“Well- there’s this event happening. We thought it might be interesting to attend,” his mom answered simply, giving her son a smile- even with the fact Danny still didn’t look too pleased by this aspect. “Vlad’s covering the whole trip, so we agreed to let him do it just this once!”

@engineersamuel I know you were interested in this crossover and so, this is what I have so far! It will need to be fleshed out later- and honestly, characterization is a pain sometimes but even then, I'm very excited for when I release the finished product!

So far, Adrien and Mari aren't in this- since it starts with Danny's POV but anything more than this would be spoilers! Hope all of you enjoy~

Lore Dump + More

Well, I'm back at it again- with more hyperfixation brainrot and nonsense. I realize I haven’t actually started writing anything; at least in the form of a fanfiction because most of the ideas are larger projects and will take time to complete. Though I know people are interested- the fandom hasn’t died, so I figured why not treat the audience?

To summarize again, Secret Origins is the five-part series ft. the first interactions with the main fandoms of this idea. Before their alliance, they weren’t even aware each other existed- that is until a vacation trip by the Fenton’s to Paris, France changed everything. And that is where our story begins.

Fair warning: I’m going to try and avoid spoilers- as I want this to be a new experience, even though obviously I’m not the first creator of the Secret Quartet but where’s the fun if I just reveal everything in one go?

The Lore Dump

The Kwamis have been there since the very creation of the universe. Each of them represent a different core concepts and abstracts, and work alongside a selected hero to protect their chosen home. They are divine beings with special powers, to say the least; currently not all of the Kwamis are in use- the active heroes are predominantly in Paris, France, but what they don’t know is that another world is hidden under their very eyes

Unlike Amity Park, Paris does not have as many ghosts- though none have ever seen one to begin with; this might have something to do with the fact that the Miraculous can’t cause any damage unto the ghostly population - only to humans - at least as far as anyone’s concerned

Natural portals have been known to appear around the world, but not everyone knows where to find them. Normally, they’re harmless- but at the same time, it’s entirely possible something unwanted comes out through the other side

Ghosts do have haunts and obsessions; normally their obsession is based on unfinished business they didn’t complete in life- other times, it’s more based on a duty they feel obligated to complete

Haunts however, are areas they have claimed as their own. While it isn’t as commonly known, ghosts are considered to be territorial- they will defend their haunt no matter what (author’s cut: in Danny’s case, since he’s only leaving for a week- Sam and Tucker are being left in charge of watching over Amity Park; also i do feel that because Danny’s still human, he doesn’t fully need a haunt- but he is still protective of his the city)

(implied spoilers!) there are safety mechanisms (of sorts) in place when a hero with magical abilities is gravely injured- do with this what you will for now

Akumas can’t affect ghosts! It wouldn’t transform them- it can however, work on other things (iykyk- leaving this vague for the time being)

Character Dynamics + Headcanon Dump

I’m honestly excited for the first meeting between Danny and our Parisian heroes- (without giving away too many spoilers, let’s just say there’s going to be a bit of miscommunication at first)

Due to plot-related reasons, the characters in Paris can speak English. There would be classes to teach English at the high school-

Phan Noir is not a ship tag- at least not for this AU. Danny and Chat Noir however, will be close friends- not only because of their share of puns but honestly I feel they would understand each other’s, well, problems. Is this a bit self indulgent? Maybe, who’s to say

Marinette is not stalking Adrien in this; she’s still pining on him a little bit, and does keep the occasional tab on him but she’s not chasing his every move- however, she’s still young and a bit inexperienced which brings me to my next point

I haven’t figured out the full timeline- but I do think that Mari’s either already the guardian, or her responsibilities are increasing with her status as Ladybug; now the deal with this is Mari’s proven to be a bit anxious- she takes her role very seriously, and honestly this will hinder her at first

Gabriel Agreste is not written to be a good person. Does he love Adrien? I’d say yes, he does but at the same time- he’s not meant to be likable. His pursuits aren’t done with anyone’s best intentions, and this is going to be addressed (of course this is fanon- and this is my au, so… in short, don’t take this wrongly-)

As mentioned before, Phantom Planet does not exist in this timeline- this does happen sometime between mid-season two (maybe somewhat later) of Danny Phantom. Danny has his experience but he is still a teenager- and not all of his powers have fully developed. After all, not much is known about halfas

Danny is getting something of a makeover- is it a bit self indulgent? Yes- I honestly liked his style from Phantom Planet, though I’m mostly referring to the white streak in his hair. His eyes also appear a bit more… bright even as a human; though I’m going to spare the whole redesign/makeover rant for now-

I feel Marinette and Danny might take a while to warm up to each other, but they’re not exactly enemies- the differences in personality sort of hinder their dynamic at times, though at the end of the day, they would protect each other

For the time being, i can’t say anything on the villains- as this is a big thing that will affect the full team of teen superheroes. Hints and revelations are going to be made as the series progresses

Danny struggles a bit with his emotions- the more emotional he becomes, the worse his powers get out of control. He’s still adjusting; he’s gotten better but at the same time- he’s also a teenager and this will show with his behavior

Adrien is not a sentimonster. Will sentimonsters be a thing? Potentially- though as of right now, sentimonsters aren’t inherently canon to the Secret Origins lore

(author’s cut: I’ll update this later! Of course- right now this is only limited to Danny Phantom and Miraculous Ladybug; as more gets developed with later parts and arcs, I’ll add more details)
