My deaf spiderwoman OC, Marisol 🕷

Miles knows ASL and even tho it's the Insomniac version of him Imma headcanon all versions of Miles know ASL because that cool asf!

Marisol communicates solely in ASL. She's Italian-American and LOVES pastels and hearts.

In deaf culture they use light to alert and get others attention so I wanted to incorporate light into her fighting style. She uses flash bombs and the main part of her suit, which is based off of the Mirror Spider's reflective back, can blind temporarily enemies. The eyes of her suit allow her to see in the intense light and are very expressive (an important part of signing).

She's not fully flushed out yet and this is only the 2nd iteration of her design so she will definitely change in the future. But for now I want to figure out what her face looks like and draw her with clothes over her suit because she does so all the time.

The impact Spiderverse has on art and artists is INSANE. Everyone is drawing, everyone is CREATING. From colour studies, to the art style studies, to making sona influenced by the movies' character designs. AI generated images are nowhere to be seen, and I hope they're going to stay buried in the uncreative pits they belong in... the world is in balance.

"Mm..." The woman nods as she pops a chocolate-covered strawberry into her own mouth, Lyla's predisposition to want to devour a handful of them intriguing her and leading her to try one herself. They weren't... Awful. A bit sweet for her tastes. But she chews and swallows it anyways. It's in her mouth already, may as well.

"It's a minor role, though. I pop in for a few minutes, spout a few lines."

She snatches up a napkin from the center of the table to wipe off her fingers, balling it up in her hand as she elaborated "Just Nano-Spider introducing herself to Miles briefly during his tour of H.Q. . Many of her lines aren't particularly of importance--for this film, at least."

"It's just ground work for laying out her significance in the plot for now. She's somewhat more prevalent in the third film. Supposedly, of course, the script's not even out yet!" Bridgette exclaims with a chuckle.

"Hard to tell what the final plan is when the directors can't even cooperate with each other half the time..."

LYLA wiped the back of her hand on her forehead, the blazing heat of the set getting to her.

She had just finished filming one of her parts for the day, and now she was to wait on the sideline for her next queue.

Which could vary from taking one hour to a whole day.

The voice of her manager made her perk up, realizing he was telling her to go to her dressing room to touch up on her looks, and to converse with the other waiting actors.

LYLA nodded before slipping out of the recording room and going down the long winding hallway where she could faintly see some of her coworkers all mingling in the lounge room.

She waved when she walked in, a beaming smile on her face, “Just finished my part! Break time.”
