Does Rory know when Jess's birthday is? Cause I'm currently writing a scene where Jess celebrates his birthday and I'm kind of debating whether to make it a Jess and Rory moment or a Jess and Doula moment?

I just find it heartbreaking that Corlys is being handed the position, basically, of the second-most important person in the realm, a position higher than any he's ever attained, something he'd have bitten a hand off for at any other time... and he doesn't want it. He's not jumping at it - he's not asked for it, not wanted it, and he doesn't find any joy in it. He even wants to say no.

He's doing the job not for esteem, power, ambition, or greed. He's doing it for his wife. He's doing it to honour her and to honour the cause she gave her life to and it's really nothing more than that. How humbling.

He's just doing it for Rhaenys.

He pours hydrogen peroxide on it and goes into the hole with a pair of something resembling tweezers, with which he pulls out a bullet. He stitches the wound.

SAM cleans a gun, facing a wall of maps and newspaper clippings and security-camera stills featuring the Trickster, arranged in neat lines with none overlapping.

He sits up stiffly and makes the bed with military precision. He goes into the bathroom and brushes his teeth.

I really liked TGCF (obviously… obsessing over Qi Rong still) and I want to try MDZS but I’m put off by sex scenes. Like I want to read it because I know it’s probably really good but I don’t want the smut to ruin it for me.
