It's wild how with 1 million dollars you could literally gain an average US income doing nothing but purely collecting interest on a 4% savings account. Then there's people with like. Thousands or tens of thousands of those.

Cheat on Your Bank—It’s Not Your Girlfriend
When it comes to banks, I am a proud philanderer. Practically a libertine! A player! I keep money here, I keep money there… it all depends on what’s most useful and effective for both my long- and short-term money goals. Here’s where I keep my money and why:
Bank 1: A large regional bank with lots of branches and ATMs in my area. Home of my checking and savings accounts. I keep these two accounts at the same bank so I can easily and quickly transfer between them.
Bank 2: An online-only bank. This is where I have the high yield savings account that I use as my emergency fund.
Bank 3: It’s fucking Vanguard, y’all. Birthplace of the low-cost index fund itself. Here I have my Roth IRA and non-retirement general brokerage account.
Bank 4: The bank my employer uses for employee retirement accounts. I don’t really have a choice on this one, so it’s just where my 401(k) lives.
Bank 5: Our beloved sponsor Acorns, because here at Bitches Get Riches, we practice what we preach. This is my happy little micro-investing account.
Start investing today with Acorns
Bank 6: Home of my very first credit card, Credit Card A. Because a long credit history is good for my credit score, I’ll likely never close this card. This is also where I keep the joint checking account I share with my husband for bills and household maintenance. This bank is the only one we share, as our finances are mostly separate.
Bank 7: Home of my second credit card, Credit Card B… which comes with a sweet rewards program.
Bank 8: Last but not least, this is a bank that specializes in small business banking. And it’s where Kitty and I keep the joint business checking account that we use for Bitches Get Riches.
That’s eight banks. I’m basically the titular boy in Brandy and Monica’s 1998 classic The Boy Is Mine.

I know the respective fandoms of DC and Miraculous Ladybug have a certain disdain for MLxDC fics but I think there's a potential for fics where Luka leaves Paris and just keeps traveling to different US cities because he keeps figuring out secret identities and he's just this 15 year old kid growing increasingly frustrated and exasperated at how badly everyone hides their identities and he just has to pretend to be oblivious even tho it's Their Fault for being Bad At Secrets and shouldn't adults be better at this??????

I think red wouldn't be a picky eater at all. In fact he's the kind of person who will eat anything you give them. As an adult at least. While living alone on a mountain you don't have That much variation or ability to have particularly fancy meals. So he got used to eating whatever he could. He'd have things he likes more, but will eat most things without complaint.
I hc green as having arfid so he is the opposite. The autism arfid combo has him eating a very restricted diet which doesn't help the fact that he often gets too focused on his work and forgets to take breaks to eat n stuff. He doesn't realize how hungry he is until the end of the day.
When he lived alone and was under a lot of stress+The Guilt he was extra averse to trying new things. When you are fighting mental demons you do not want the additional stress of eating something outside of your safe foods and potentially ruining your appetite for the next however long.
After he and red live together, it's a lot easier to try new things. Since red isn't particularly strict/picky with his diet, if green tries something and ends up hating it he feels less bad about wasting food because his beloved wife red will eat it for him. He can also try new things by stealing a bite or two of something red is eating without the pressure of having to finish a whole plate of it.
Red doesn't mind. They are very supportive of each other. He also just likes anything green does ever so sharing and trying new foods with him is just another fun activity.
It is also cute to imagine despite red eating most things and it seeming like hes ambivalent about it all, green still notices which things red enjoys even if it's barely noticable to anyone else. He will buy snacks and stuff that red likes to give him next time he sees them. Id say red would buy green things he likes too but red is jobless in all my posts.

Simple bias test:
If you take all the articles and media you see about Palestine & Israel in the last 20 years and flip the two names, would you still have the same opinion you have now?
If the roles were reversed wouldn't Western governments be yelling out that this is the greatest human rights infringement of our time? Wouldn't they vehemently punish the oppressor? Wouldn't they demand an immediate end to it?
Something tells me they would have called for a ceasefire within a day, that they would have sent military and aid to protect the people if Palestine was doing to Israel what Israel is and has been so blatantly and shamelessly doing to the Palestinians. But I suppose that's not how politics works, especially not when you’re being paid absurd amounts of money by keeping your mouth shut and your eyes blind.

my favorite part of being a uni student is being able to spend money. there's no feeling quite like ordering clothes in a fit of unable-to-find-anything-to-wear induced rage 🫶🏼

Look I'm not saying I'm obsessed with Fallout 4, but I just found the closest thing to the Summer Shorts outfit. I just need the Fashionable Glasses and a Pip-boy, and I'm ready for Arg Comic-Con!

Hi!! I just got my first big girl job (salaried) and I'm trying to figure out where parts of my bi monthly paychecks should be going bank account-wise. Should I have it direct deposited into my checking account and then move a chunk into my savings account? How much of each check should be put into my savings vs left in checking for my bills and anticipated spending?
We gotchu, boo!
In general, it's easiest to have everything direct-deposited into your checking account so you can move it around from there. I treat my checking account as the foyer, with my other accounts as the rest of the rooms in the house that is my financial strategy. Money comes in through the front door and sits in the foyer long enough for me to put it away in my savings account, my retirement account, my brokerage account, etc.
Here's more on how to divide things up in a way that works for you:
