tortured by this everyday
i love naturalistic enclosures so much but the ants
they just won't stop
i miss when the gecko tanks had dirt in them
and grasses
but the ants man
the fucking ants
#i guess it's also easier to check dig boxes for eggs instead of a whole enclosure of dirt#but man. i'm so unsatisfied with how they look now#the geckos couldn't care less at least#i might try them on cork flooring#i don't like tiles because they don't have any give if they sploot from the climbing branches#maybe i can screw in some hanging pots or something for plants#i tried fake plants but they don't really fit natural habitat and eeeee#eeeeeeeeeee

accidently trained leon to herd the cats out of the room when i make the sound that means "leave that and scramble" which is kinda more effective because the cats just ignore me but also makes the cats hate him even more
he even started picking up on "illegal" behaviours like chewing the plants or crawling into the wardrobe and starts looming over them and bumping them with his nose
#trained my son to be a cop it´s tragic#i guess that´s what you get naming him after leon kennedy resident evil#next thing i know he will start spinn kicking people and shooting old ladies in the face

one of the dogs leon is friends with was really struggling with her health but she is on new meds and sprinting around like mad now
he is so confused because he's used to her barely wanting to move and immediately screaming in pain and now she's straight up chasing him around
it's just really nice to see her bounce back like that
#she's at least 12years aswell so i really didn't think she would make such a huge recovery#leon is so rowdy until another dog is than he stands there like an awkward horse

the aesthetic crimes that people comit with grout and styrofoam/sprayfoam in reptile enclosures have to be stopped
#it's giving baking fail with icing smeared on by a child#i already think 3D built backgrounds are overhyped and not really an improvement for the animal#personally i'm a pressed cork sheet enthusiast but there are many options that don't look bad#and don't crumble away and are actually reasonably cleanable
