decriminalizing drugs and being opposed to forced rehab is important as a leftist but what a lot of leftists i meet seem to be unable to grasp is that you need to also be ok with people doing drugs for the rest of their lives. of course healing the environment that causes people to become addicts and making mental health services available and making drug use safer via needle exchanges is important, but you also need to know that even if all addicts are given all of those resources some of them will still continue to use drugs and you need to be ok with that. you need to view that as neutral. you cannot proclaim yourself a leftist while trying to dictate what people do with their own bodies even if you think you have good intentions or that its in the best interest of an addict. you need to accept this if you have truly destigmatized drug use in your mind like a lot of yall claim you have but dont actually reflect that in your words and actions when you call for forced rehab. help should always be available and encouraged, but the option to still use drugs despite that should be too. zero criticism will be considered on this post cause i know yall that disagree with this and merely cosplay as leftists online have never actually had an addiction or known someone with an addiction. have a nice day.

Anyone who talks about how “edgy” they are needs to go take a bath in acid.
It makes it so hard for people to talk about their actual homicidal ideation or low empathy or low guilt or delusions or other stigmatised symptoms of mental illness.
I shouldn't have to clarify that my delusions are actual harmful, prolonged periods of distorted reality or that when I say I want to kill someone I mean that I have dark fantasies where I kill them in graphic detail.
I don't feel empathy. I don't feel guilt. Most of the time, I don't feel anything for other people. It's not quirky. It's not a joke. It's not something you can say you experience only to turn around and criticise the moment I go more in depth.
Stop trying to be cool by imitating mental illnesses. It's pathetic.

Friendly reminder that antipsychotics don't cure schizophrenia. They don't even treat schizophrenia fully. They only treat the psychotic symptoms aka the positive symptoms. (And lots of people on antipsychotics don't have all their psychotic symptoms disappear, sometimes it only helps a little bit). Meanwhile our negative and cognitive symptoms cannot be treated fully (or at all depending on the person) with medication, and they greatly affect our lives and tend to get more severe as we age. So please don't assume that a schizophrenic person on antipsychotics is basically not mentally ill anymore cause there's a shit ton more we have to deal with on a daily basis, even if our psychosis is treated and no longer affecting us.

this may sound a little strange but when it comes to the utmv fandom and in universe meta aware characters interacting with ones who aren’t aware, I like to approach it more from like a religious or spiritual belief standpoint. so like, to others, characters like killer and ink seem either really religious or spiritual (ink) or really superstitious/religious/indoctrinated (killer). ink believes in creators, but to killer, those creators are actually more like players.

Do any other social folks on the schizophrenia spectrum also feel like they don’t know how to “people” after an episode?
It’s so strange to look back on how social I was when my symptoms were less severe and how (almost) outgoing I was
Now I’m not even sure how to talk to close friends and am just awkward. I lost my conversation skills :(

Ok let me rant a little bit
I get so so fucking pissed off when I see people say shit like
"oh I, a minor, have been into Outlast since I was a little kid because I've been so desensitized to gore and the games content! Haha it doesn't bother me."
Like ok?? Cool?? Not the flex you think it is. Like this is coming from someone who also first saw outlast when I was literally still in elementary school. And I was exposed to a lot of irl gore as a child due to my siblings showing me that stuff as well as classmates. And I'd be so lying if I said it didn't damage me in the long run. And I wish I hadn't seen any of it, even though I love outlast now.
Please stop "flexing" about how you're not bothered about gore anymore or have the "the-youngest-outlast-fan"-olympics. As an adult it just straight up makes me really uncomfortable 💀
And as a reminder: you're not "weak" or a "coward" for being scared or disturbed because of a literal horror game when you're a child. Or an adult, for that matter. "Oh but when I was a kid I was terrified!" Yes. That's. Normal? Don't make yourself feel bad about it, ever.

"Well it's not exactly medical" is one of those lines that is revealing of sooo much more than Dean (or the writers probably tbh) would ever hope to think . . .
Yes, sure, the wall inside Sam's head that Cas broke was a Supernatural wall broken by Supernatural means (although it would have broken eventually by itself by non supernatural means - very important).
But Sam's psychosis *is* medical (putting aside for purposes of simplicity issues of medicalising mental illness - the point is that outside of this context Dean *would* view this as a medical issue). He is experiencing trauma induced psychosis.
But Dean doesn't want Sam to be able to treat/manage his psychosis. Or address his trauma. He wants Sam "fixed". He wants the wall, the unstable last defence back.
Because it's much cleaner and easier to think that the problem is the wall being gone, and not the well of trauma underneath.
It's much cleaner to be able to place the blame squarely on Cas for "breaking his brother's brain" than to have to confront his part in shoving Sam's tattered soul back into his body and unleashing this trauma upon him.
"Someone did this to him" is so much easier to deal with than untangling the messy and complicated reasons why brains find ways like this to process trauma.

Sexual relationships with your gods are valid
I saw a post not too long ago speaking on intimate relationships with your gods and also the idea of “god spouses.” And while it’s fine to have your own opinion and express that I felt like it dismissed the relationship one may have with a sexual deity or even one that’s not primarily thought of to be sexual!
There are so many gods that help others feel comfortable enough to live freely in their bodies, masturbate, be with their loved ones and more. Why dismiss or undermine that because you believe you can’t have a more intimate relationship with a deity?
Gods are what they need to be for you. A friend, lover, partner, sibling, parent, best friend, teacher, mentor, what have you. The gods can absolutely touch you. Is it rarer than one may think? I personally don’t think so. And yes this does get into some harder conversations about psychosis and being wary of those symptoms. But I believe people know what they feel.
And who really cares if your god didn’t actually make you come. You felt connected to them in that moment, you did that for them, in one way or another. That’s valid. Don’t let others tell you differently or dismiss your experiences.

Ppl who have issues with hygiene ily. Ppl who cant brush theyre teeth regularly. Ppl who dont shower for months. Ppl who wear the same clothes for days.
If all u can do is brush or shower once every few weeks or months ily. If all you can do is change into a different pair of pajama pants today ily. Or if you cant do any of it ily.
Ik ppl will be like “its not healthy to spread positivity now my teeth are rotting bc I didnt care” which I understand to some extent for some ppl but no amount of scaring me about how my teeth health will suffer is going to make me do it more, my brain quite literally can’t foresee the positive outcomes and will refuse to make it a daily habit no matter how much its barked at me over and over.
Sometimes its not something that can be helped. And its not bc I dont care or i like being disgusting or dont understand the risks I literally just cant.

Psychotic System Culture is...
Not reacting to a noise around others because you assume it's an auditory hallucination and don't want to seem weird, only for it to be an actual external sound and being weird for not reacting to it
