Sorry this blog has been pretty quiet again. Charlie’s been depressed and kept away from front. Been posting on my own blog though.
I blog about my object friends and partners and share my photography and drawings. Also sometimes psychosis stuff. @alanzblog

Been working on a punk jean jacket. My old one was getting pretty small so got a new one at goodwill and transferred some patches. Also painted a bunch on it. So much more I want to do (thinking of making spikes for it?) but proud so far :p

Yknow what is privilege? Assuming everyone saying they need a mental health break from all this are just trying to avoid getting a little bummed out for extended periods of time.
Well like the last post I reblogged… yeah. Shut up lol. Some peoples mental health issues are actually too severe to be able to manage both.
#hissing#again sorry some of us are too didabled to be able to meet what ppl onlines personal threshhold of activism you ‘should’ be doing#when will ppl stop painting us as selfish for not beinrhg able to do things they think are ‘basic’#suprose suprise some if us cant even do whats ‘basic’

I guess I feel pressured to finally do this but I engage politically in a limited manner on social media due to what its led to in the past. this is entirely separate from what I use to inform myself on what is going on around the world, and my actions I'm doing irl about it.
when covid happened, I fell under the mentality that avoiding any information anywhere about it was unfair to those mostly unaffected by it. in the end, I was hospitalized for 10 days. I developed psychosis where I was harming myself and scaring my loved ones with my enraged ruminating. every second of every day I was consumed with death, to the point I was too immobilized with stress to finish the semester or closely care about my loved ones. I got the point I was hospitalized because I was so psychotic I was doing things like eating wax to be able to fly, and I believed it was fine if I died to help others like that.
my overall point being that after all of that, I was advised by several mental health professionals to be more mindful with how I consumed news. I cannot study to change educational policy, volunteer, pollwork, or inform my loved ones if I'm so sick from information overload. so thats why I blacklist terms, and do not think it is unfair. It may be selfish, and privileged, but I find it most important to use my place in the way I can most effectively assist others. for me, I do more outside social media, when I engage with information critically online.
#and this is why I hate the argument the only people not paying attention#are just white privileged cowards reassuring eachother about our right to be ignorant#this is what privledge looks like yall?#fuck off#sorry some of us are too disabled to meet your criteria of activism

I haven’t seen this linked on here so: this is an awesome resource for how you can help the people in Palestine. It has donation links, helps you figure out how to contact your representatives, and a regularly updated list of planned protests. It is USAmerican centric but the list of protests is international.
