Reworked Group #2: Regular Army
Overview
As international matters related to criminality and political issues deteriorated, the Earth Federation's transitional government was approached by a civilian officer who headed the Joint Operations Headquarters. The officer suggested establishing a peacekeeping military branch, leading to the creation of the Regular Army. The civilian officer was subsequently promoted to Chief of the Regular Army, assuming overall command. The forces were then divided into seven garrisons: the North American Garrison, the South American Garrison, the European Garrison, the Eurasian Garrison, the Asian Garrison, the Middle Eastern Garrison, the African Garrison, and the Oceania Garrison.
The Intelligence Agency was integrated into the Regular Army amidst concerns that it was becoming too autonomous with its own combat unit, sparking fears among ordinary citizens. Agents from the Intelligence Agency undertook high-risk missions, including deliberately allowing themselves to be captured to supply allies with ammunition and heavy weapons. Others conducted espionage and assassination operations. The Regular Army established the Marine Corps to serve as a specialised force for naval and amphibious warfare as well as water-borne operations. Its primary mission is to deter aggression and maintain freedom of the seas. The Peregrine Falcons Squad, part of the Joint Military Police Headquarters, and the S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S., affiliated with the Intelligence Agency, served as special forces units within the Regular Army. Later, the Ikari Warriors, a mercenary organisation, and Division 6, a group that defected from the Japanese Infantry of the Rebel Army, joined forces with the Regular Army's special forces after reaching an agreement.
The Regular Army was established to maintain peace and order among nations and provide orphaned and abandoned teenagers with a chance for a better future. Often shunned by society and left to fend for themselves, these young individuals were adopted by them. They offered the teenagers a supportive environment, basic necessities like food and clothing, proper education, and a stable income through jobs catered to their talents. This not only helped them become self-sufficient but also served as a means of recruiting new soldiers. The Regular Army was revered as a symbol of hope and unity, embodying a strong sense of justice and duty. Composed of idealistic and courageous individuals who genuinely wanted to serve and protect the international world, they inspired hope for a safer future for all.
Over time, the leadership of the Regular Army became increasingly power-hungry and corrupt as the chief grew dissatisfied with the military organisation's finances and resource development. In a surprising turn of events, a man known as President Marx approached the Regular Army with an offer they couldn't refuse: his company would become their primary defence contractor, supplying them with weaponry, tanks, and other essential equipment. Furthermore, President Marx would influence the chief and his colleagues to exploit their authority for personal gain and political manipulation, exacerbating the corruption within the Regular Army's leadership. The superiors are the only ones aware of the information that President Marx's supplies are tainted with questionable business dealings, ethical quandaries, and possible human rights issues, such as exploitative labour practices and financial irregularities.
The Regular Army's leadership began to engage in illicit activities, but their corruption remained concealed from public scrutiny through a combination of propaganda, media manipulation, and strategic cover-ups. While their public image remained heroic, they simultaneously conducted clandestine operations behind closed doors. These covert activities included expanding their influence, controlling resources, and silencing whistleblowers within the organisation, further solidifying their grip on power. The corrupt leadership of the Regular Army took measures to preserve the idealism of lower-ranking soldiers and new recruits regarding world peace, deliberately keeping them uninformed about the corruption. Meanwhile, many higher-ranking officers were either complicit in the corruption or actively contributed to its perpetuation.
The corrupt leadership of the Regular Army colluded with Ghyslaine to establish the Amadeus Syndicate, which served as a front for covert experimentation with hazardous technologies, the exploitation of living beings, including Martians and humans, and the manipulation of psionic energy. These experiments had far-reaching consequences, including the development of hyper-advanced nuclear weaponry and the transformation of Hyakutaro into the first recorded esper of the modern era. Additionally, they created a prototype of the Metal Slug tank, powered by nuclear energy, but it was quickly abandoned due to its potentially catastrophic risks.
Although the Regular Army never intended to use their hyper-advanced nuclear weaponry themselves, they had been secretly lending it to various organisations, including the Ptolemaic Army and Amadeus Syndicate. These groups planned to exploit the weapons at opportune moments, seeking to maximise their impact and avoid squandering the arsenal's devastating potential. The Regular Army provided them with such a dangerous arsenal because they believed that a balance between good and evil was necessary. Rumours have circulated that the Amadeus Syndicate and Regular Army discovered a Martian crash site in a remote desert, utilising the technological debris and remains of the deceased alien entities for scientific research and experiments.
As the 21st century dawned, they disregarded numerous terrorist attacks, viewing them as insignificant global threats. However, their inaction would ultimately tarnish their reputation, prompting them to employ strategic measures to mitigate the damage. These measures included assassinating journalists who threatened to expose them and manipulating public opinion to their advantage. Unbeknownst to them, their failure to act against the Central Park bombing in 2023 would inadvertently pave the way for the emergence of the Rebel Army.
Insignia
It features an emerald-hued heater shield with a green gold motto ribbon, bearing the Latin inscription "Nos globum defendemus" ("We will defend the globe" in English). The shield depicts a gilded blade with outstretched wings, surrounded by a flame-coloured halo with radiating light rays behind its hilt.
Uniforms
Cadet Uniform
They wear a blue-grey short-sleeved jacket with a brass six-button front, four pockets, and two hidden strapped compartments. They don a black utility belt that secures essential gear, and an African violet armband displays the Regular Army insignia. They also wear blue-grey army cargo pants with additional pockets, tucked into caput mortuum paratrooper boots. They carry a massive light grey load-bearing backpack containing camping gear and various military supplies.
Commanding Officer Uniform
They wear a double-breasted linden green jacket with gilded epaulets, eight metallic silver clasps, and chest pockets with the Regular Army insignia emblazoned on the right pocket. They pair this with a light blue dress shirt, a Tyrian purple cravat, and a built-in rifle green utility belt that has a cummerbund-like appearance. Their ultramarine trousers feature a vertical silvery stripe pattern, and they complete their uniform with a gold-edged wedge cap of linden green seal fur and polished black leather boots with a low heel.
Peacekeeper Uniform
Lower-ranking peacekeeping troops wear a Soldier Plate Carrier System (SPCS) featuring a unique camouflage pattern of cerulean, lavender grey, and Cambridge blue, which holds ammunition and their walkie-talkie. Their uniform consists of a blue-green Lightweight Helmet (LWH), a reseda chartreuse armband displaying the Regular Army insignia, and a lavender moisture-wicking dress shirt with an open collar. They wear light grey gloves and a taupe utility belt with a holster for their handgun, a sheath for their combat knife, eight blue-green pouches for ammo, and a coyote brown waist pack for rolling bombs. In addition to their SPCS, they wear a matching camouflage jacket and army cargo pants, featuring the same distinctive cerulean, lavender grey, and Cambridge blue pattern. Their cargo pants are equipped with built-in knee pads and adorned with three silver stripes on the left leg, which are tucked into sturdy navy blue combat boots.
They carry around a taupe load-bearing backpack containing various supplies, including handheld rockets, portable ammo boxes, communication devices, portable water purification systems, first aid kits, rations, maps and navigation tools, and cultural and language guides. Their arsenal includes a large bazooka capable of firing explosives with low levels of nuclear radiation, a special material shield that absorbs shocks, an anti-personnel sniper rifle, and a minigun that shoots rounds filled with corrosive acid. Some troops are responsible for carrying and operating mid-range artillery mortars that fire homing missiles. A few are responsible for operating portable AA Machine Gun Turrets, which requires a team of three or four men to carry.
Higher-ranking peacekeeping troops are equipped with cutting-edge exosuits, crafted from a unique blend of dark, metallic carbon fibre and adaptive, hexagonal titanium plates that have a greyish-green sheen. The headpiece features a nanotech-enhanced air filter with self-healing membranes and four durable, translucent tubes connecting to dual, high-capacity oxygen canisters on the suit's back, ensuring extended operational duration. It is equipped with a voice modulator featuring AI-driven noise cancellation, surrounded by retractable, silver-tipped stubs for secure communications connections.

Below the neck and above the lower legs, the exoskeleton's chassis is enveloped in a revolutionary, flesh-like substrate. This sentient, self-healing material fuses advanced polymers, human tissue, vital fluids from the Cephalorepens galacticus albus, and the essence of Tuatha Dé Danann DNA. It boasts an iridescent sea purple hue and features a network of veins that pulsate with a nanotech-enhanced blackish-green elixir. This proprietary serum prevents rapid degradation of the fleshy material, while augmenting muscle resilience against a wide spectrum of attacks, from energy blasts to close-quarters combat. The suit's flanks are augmented with an additional pair of limbs, which feature bulging yet agile muscles infused with micro-scale, artificial myofibrils. It also has seven dexterous fingers, tipped with retractable, hyper-flexible tungsten claws and enhanced proprioception and tactile feedback, courtesy of embedded, AI-driven sensors.
These arms are capable of independent movement and allow the wearer to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. These claws are modular and interchangeable, allowing for seamless integration with a wide array of advanced tools and weapons, including:
Micro-grappling hooks that exploit localised gravity waves, enabling rapid scaling of sheer surfaces.
High-precision medical delivery systems, capable of administering tailored nanomedicines, stimulants or sedatives.

Regular Army Base
The Joint Operations Headquarters, a heavily fortified military compound located in the Great Victoria Desert, serves as the primary base for the Regular Army. This heavily fortified facility is designed to withstand the harsh desert environment and potential threats, while providing a secure and self-sufficient hub for military operations. The compound's architecture is carefully crafted to blend seamlessly into its desert surroundings, minimising visibility from the outside. The facility features multiple blast-resistant windows designed to withstand extreme pressures and temperatures, ensuring enhanced security. Additionally, it’s equipped with six secure parabolic communications antennas for reliable connectivity with other military units and command centres.
The base has strict access protocols in place, featuring checkpoints and biometric scanning, to ensure that only authorised personnel can enter. Additionally, the base is equipped with water purification and recycling facilities to minimise dependence on external resources. Furthermore, it has a robust power generation infrastructure, including backup generators and renewable energy sources.
The compound features multiple facilities, including:
A robust, high-wall barrier that surrounds the compound, reinforced with watchtowers and guard posts to prevent unauthorised entry and protect against enemy attacks.
A Combat School that serves as a recruitment and training program for cadets aspiring to join the Regular Army.
A training ground for lower-ranking soldiers to practice combat skills, tactics, and drills, honing their abilities in a controlled environment.
Advanced simulation rooms for immersive training exercises, allowing troops to prepare for various scenarios and environments.
Simple, functional living quarters for soldiers, providing basic amenities and housing.
A central dining facility offering standard military rations and meals.
A well-equipped medical facility for treating injuries and illnesses.
A secure storage facility for tactical gear, weapons, and vehicles with restricted access and inventory management.
A large garage serving as a maintenance facility for Slugs and other vehicles, including those repurposed from external sources.
A well-maintained storage area for food, fuel, ammunition, and other essential supplies.
Numerous offices accommodating military personnel, commanders, and support staff.
A strategic planning and operations management centre where military superiors oversee key activities, make tactical decisions, and coordinate missions.
A secure briefing room for classified discussions and situation assessments among high-ranking military officials and special forces operatives.
A dedicated facility for secure communication, including satellite uplinks and encrypted transmission systems.
A secretive, heavily restricted underground laboratory for conducting classified experiments on soldiers, developing cutting-edge technologies, and housing a mutant and supernatural entity containment facility.
Extra Information
They have no qualms about silencing whistleblowers through assassination, prioritising the preservation of their moral image over accountability.
Most high-ranking officers and special forces superiors embezzle funds intended for equipment and supplies, using them for personal enrichment.
New recruits and underperforming soldiers are often coerced into purchasing overpriced gear from corrupt quartermasters.
They occasionally stage false flag attacks to justify increased military spending or manipulate public opinion.
They frequently disseminate propaganda and disinformation to control the narrative and maintain public support.
Soldiers of the Regular Army are responsible for maintaining peace and are tasked with conducting infiltration missions. They serve in a supportive role, as the Earth Federation prefers to deploy specialised teams to infiltrate enemy fortifications, minimising civilian casualties and avoiding prolonged, all-out battles.
Soldiers of the Regular Army possess superior strategic and combat skills, boasting enhanced accuracy and greater agility compared to their Rebel Army counterparts.
Tank pilots are known for seizing the tanks of enemies after their own vehicle has been destroyed or rendered inoperable.
Many soldiers have undergone experimentation with psionic energy, granting them enhanced intellectual and physical capabilities. However, due to faulty bioengineering and a lack of understanding regarding the activation of Super Devil forms, they are unable to metamorphose and have not received an esper title.

My blood boils so badly whenever this comes up, why is canceling student debt a bad thing? We should be asking why student debt has no limits and can't be cancelled through bankruptcy like other forms of debt? Why can businesses declare bankruptcy and be fine while this life ruining form of debt be allowed with no restrictions? Biden has his issues but this is not one of them, but of course republicans oppose anything democrats do out of principle as cults can't cooperate with others! The supreme court is stuffed with crooks protecting crooks, it needs major reform or they will be removed by force if necessary!

New information on my "Memories Still At A Halt" AU!
Considering that today is Father's Day, I figured it'd be a good time to talk about this.
Tumblr media
Here's the synopsis for the AU just as a reminder. I wrote this AU's synopsis a few months ago, and gave it some small editing to keep it up to date. (As I now headcanon Susie and Marx being friends, I adapted that for the AU and tweaked the synopsis accordingly)
But anyways, without further ado, let's get right into the new information I've installed onto this AU!
NOTE: I'm going to be putting a 'Keep reading' tag down below because this is a lot of new information. Please click it if you want to see it all!
New information for "Memories Still At A Halt":
-Even after being brought back, it still gets on Haltmann's nerves every time Susie tries to refer to him as dad. Because he's stubbornly insisted non-stop that he doesn't want to her to call him dad, she's reluctantly having to call him "Max" or "Haltmann" when in direct conversation with him. Unsurprisingly, she absolutely hates this.
-Susie, at first, doesn't announce it to any of her friends when she first brings her dad back. She tried to keep it a secret at first until Magolor and Marx visit the HWC headquarters a few days after Haltmann came back. And even then, she aggressively pleaded those two to not tell anyone else for a while. She was uncomfortable with announcing her dad's revival until almost 2 months later when her internal grief over his still-erased-memories overwhelms her to the point of snapping, "admitting defeat", and gradually reaching out to other people about it.
-For a while, Susie was especially afraid of telling Taranza that she brought her dad back, because she felt like he'd be jealous and would ask how to bring Sectonia back. But she wouldn't be able to answer as she doesn't know how to summon a clockwork star because, again, it wasn't her who activated that one. However, she does eventually tell him, but he's the last of her friends to be informed about it. More on that later.
-Because Taranza was the one that Susie was most uncomfortable with announcing her dad's revival to at first, it's the Mage Sisters who she first goes to when she begins to vent to others about her grief over her dad still not remembering her as his daughter. Francisca, being Susie's second bestie, is the one that gives her the most support and comfort during this.
-Francisca is the main one helping Susie keep some of her remaining sanity before Taranza gets informed about what's going on. Thanks, blue woman! She's been helping Susie hold it together during this ongoing struggle.
-Kirby is informed about Haltmann's revival later than the Mage Sisters learn it, but before Taranza. Susie comes over to tell Kirby about it and even brings him to the HWC headquarters to see Haltmann, letting Kirby see it for himself that Haltmann still cannot see Susie as his daughter. He'd had known their backstory beforehand because Susie told him... but actually seeing this for himself hits a new level of sad. Needless to say, Kirby feels terrible.
-Susie eventually tells Taranza when he asks her "is something wrong?" when he notices she's been a lot more cagey around him lately. She understood that he was eventually going to know and that he even deserved to know, so she reluctantly confessed. He reacts like she predicted... jealous and that he asked her how to summon a clockwork star, but she couldn't answer. She also tried to discourage him from doing it because she claims that Sectonia would just come back corrupted. After all, Haltmann came back wrong, so it'd be logical to assume the same thing would happen for Sectonia.
-Continuation from last point, Taranza argues that even if Sectonia came back wrong, he could "fix her". Not just that, but Marx also tells Taranza that gathering star power activates a clockwork star (Susie got mad at Marx for that), further enticing Taranza to attempt a Milky Way Wishes style mission. But then Susie snapped and showed Taranza how she interacts with her dad, showing that it's unlike a daughter-father relationship and that it stresses Susie out so much that Haltmann still doesn't see her as his daughter.
-After seeing Haltmann in person... Taranza eventually changed his mind. It made him really sad to see what he saw. He feels horrible for Susie, and then came to recognize how dangerous it would be to bring Sectonia back. He didn't want to at first, but he eventually came to accept not bringing her back. In fact, Sectonia would actually be much worse than Haltmann. Haltmann's threat came from being the HWC's president, but Susie stripped that from him, meanwhile Sectonia would still be a monster wasp if brought back that Taranza would risk his life trying to handle.
-Eventually, the revival of Haltmann then becomes known to many others. The rest of the dream friends find out about it. Susie got to the point where she no longer cared how many people knew about it after Taranza learned. That being said, most of the other dream friends only see Haltmann when Susie takes him with her while going on a Popstar vacation. An exception being Ribbon, who Susie is distant friends with, as she let her in the HWC's headquarters to see.
-Bad moments happen involving Meta Knight, Dark Meta Knight, and Daroach:
When Meta Knight first learned about Haltmann's revival, he was initially bewildered, and then became suspicious, and wondered if Susie was "up to something". She immediately swore no! There was also about to be a fight between Meta Knight and Haltmann (initiated by the latter), which embarrassed the heck out of Susie as she went all in to try and stop it. Fortunately, Kirby and Magolor come around to help ease tension.
Because Susie doesn't get along with Dark Meta Knight at all, Haltmann also has bad impressions on the mirror world knight. In fact, he even tries to pick a fight with DMK, but then gets violently stabbed. This causes huge distress for Susie even if it was Haltmann that started shit with him.
Daroach is another person that Susie doesn't get along with, because he's stolen from the HWC many times. Haltmann has snapped at him for it a few times, but it got to the point where Susie had to get the old man to cut it out.
No worries, Haltmann easily survives being physically attacked by DMK.
-If I'm being honest, there probably isn't much in the way of Haltmann's interactions with King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, Adeleine, Gooey, and the animal friends. Susie has largely neutral dynamics with those people (except for ChuChu, who she does have a distant friendship with) and so there's not much they do in the story. Sorry if this bit is disappointing!
-Even though Haltmann gradually becomes nicer, he still ends up calling people vitriolic nicknames many times. He's called a lot of the cast insults.... even Susie, who he literally calls a wild savage at the start in his initial burst of anger! He's also called Magolor and Marx savages at first meet, and has called insulting nicknames to many others (including DMK, which lead to Haltmann getting slashed).
-This story happens after Forgotten Land's events, which by that point Susie has had plenty of character development in and has unlearned calling people "savages" to the point she does not condone Haltmann calling people that after he's been brought back. When he calls someone a nickname, it forces Susie to do damage control every time. It pisses her off. It's part of the reason why she didn't really want some people to see him at first.
-Thankfully, Taranza and the Mage Sisters don't ever get called horrible names by Haltmann because Susie made DAMN sure that didn't happen! Those are the people where she would've really drawn the line if Haltmann dared call them anything. She FORCED him to be polite to those people. Unfortunately, she failed to get him to not call Kirby an insult because Haltmann remembers that "pink savage", which embarrassed Susie. She apologizes to Kirby for being insulted by Haltmann.
-Marx thought it was absolutely hilarious that Susie technically stole someone's clockwork star wish to get Haltmann back. Because, uh, Marx also famously stole a wish. But the two situations obviously aren't very comparable, because Marx clearly did that on purpose as he was plotting, Susie didn't do that as she was just taking up a shocking opportunity presented in front of her. Still, that doesn't stop Marx from finding it funny as heck what Susie did.
-Susie does not let Haltmann work in any position of the HWC. She just lets him chill out in the company's headquarters most of the time while having him get better. There are many instances where she leaves the headquarters to go to places while Haltmann stays behind, with the Haltworkers to take care of him in Susie's brief absences.
-Magolor showed Haltmann the mask of his likelihood that was made for Merry Magoland. It stoked Haltmann's pride!
-After a few years in, when Haltmann improves well enough, Susie lets him shake hands with her friends. Well, except for Marx because you can't really shake hands with that guy's golden wings.
-Even though Haltmann still doesn't recognize Susie as his daughter, he does become kind and caring enough to her to the point of even being protective of her. That's what led to him picking fights that make Susie embarrassed. He's "protective" of her in a way that actually ends up just causing more problems. (example: he gets aggressive with Meta Knight after the man insinuated Susie was "up to something" after bringing Haltmann back)
-Haltmann doesn't have good introductions with some of Susie's friends... namely Magolor, Marx and Kirby because he's insulted all of them at first, but things get better. In fact, he even comes to get along with Magolor pretty well because that guy's also a techie. Thankfully, there's no bad introductions that Haltmann has with Taranza and the Mage Sisters because Susie didn't even let them near him until she was confident he wouldn't be mean to them. He gets along with Taranza and Francisca quite well because, uh, they are Susie's two besties.
-The HWC headquarters is where Haltmann resides about 99% of the time. Like said earlier, Susie doesn't bother taking him with her when she goes to places a lot of the time, as she just lets the Haltworkers supervise him. She thinks Haltmann isn't really in good enough health to be out of the headquarters much. She did take him with her in a Popstar vacation once, but that's about it. The Haltworkers do let him around in other places in the company's headquarters, but he mostly stays within the planet of the location.
-Haltmann does not care about ice cream very much (to Susie's dismay), but he loves chicken to the point where Susie has had to get Haltworkers to open an entire restaurant dedicated to chicken just for him.
-There literally exist early photos of Susie and Haltmann back when the former was just a child. She showed these photos to him when she tried explaining the entire backstory to him, but he's in disbelief and even went as far as to say those photos were edited. This makes her absolutely seething on the inside. But eventually, as he gradually becomes less stubborn, he slowly becomes more "understanding" that the photos are real, even if he still struggles to believe it.
-At one point, despite the horrible start, Haltmann praises Susie for what she's done with the HWC ever since he died and then came back. She's taken it in a better direction in pretty much every sense of the word. Even though he initially complained about it (including pointing out the "lack of infinite prosperity") because he was the exact same as he was in Planet Robobot when he first came back, he became more understanding over time as he realized how much better things actually are now.
-Haltmann is glad that Star Dream is destroyed. He came to hate the machine after Susie explained what happened to him.
-There was a long period where Susie did not sing "Noble Haltmann", as that was when Haltmann was dead. But after bringing him back, she's then come around to singing that song again in hopes he'll remember her. It... hasn't fully worked yet, but he likes the song as it's great music to his ears! If nothing else, it's a good activity Susie does with Haltmann, as it admittedly destresses her a little bit even if it doesn't give the full effect that she wants.
-Overall, Susie and Haltmann has a positive dynamic. Even if it's not the daughter and father dynamic that Susie wants, it's not like they get along badly, because they don't. He's grown nice to her, even if he doesn't actively remember her as his daughter. That hasn't stopped Susie from still perpetually being so stressed about it, though. She wants him to remember so, so bad.
Okay... that's all! Wow, that was a BUNCH of new information for the AU, wasn't it? I've developed this info over time.
If you read it all, thank you!
Happy Father's Day! (even if Haltmann still can't freaking see Susie as his daughter in this AU)

Today in class we talked about old politicians and one guy said, "If you're leaving, you can't order something for the table," and that just about took me out.

Note
On one hand, Magolor being tormented is utterly terrifying. On the other hand, the idea of Marx, Magolor, Sectonia, and Haltmann all vibing in the afterlife as literal walking corpses and half of them just being, like. Completely over it, is pretty funny.
Magolor is having a very rough time right now, what with the sanity slippage and the eternal suffering thing, then again, he's new here, while the others have all had years to adjust.
They'll teach him how to be chill and soon they'll all be having a great time at the new branch location of Merry Magoland!

The rap on the door was succinct and concise.
“Hi I’m Carrie, we haven’t met. I’m sorry, this is such short notice, we didn’t know where else to go—”
In front of you on your doorstep stood blonde, the one who spoke, and behind her cowered what you could make out to be Elizabeth.
“Of course, come in come in.”
You hurried the two women through the threshold of your brownstone, quickly shutting the door behind them. You guided them into your kitchen, swiftly grabbing a couple glasses of water and handing them over to the two ragged women. They accepted the drinks with silent nods and grateful hearts.
“I heard what happened over the television. I immediately called my contacts but no one had heard from you. They thought…” you rambled.
“The hit came from within the company. That’s why. No one knows.” Carrie breathed out, anxiously brushing her hair behind her face.
Elizabeth fidgeted with her glass, her gaze not meeting yours. You pursed your lips and nodded towards the blonde. Your gaze traveled back to the brunette, sympathetic and caring for the woman who seemed to be carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.
“I see. Well you’re both welcome to stay here as long as you need. Elizabeth knows this is an unsanctioned, off the books safe house. That’s how I assumed you found me.”
“Completely off the books…?”
You pursed your lips once more and nodded. Carrie sighed in relief and nodded eagerly back.
“Good good.”
Silence took the room. It gave you the chance to finally hear Elizabeth’s shallow and erratic breathing. Her lip was trembling and you could tell she was as struggling to stay standing. It broke your heart. You rounded the kitchen island over to the brunette, placing a light hand on the back of her right shoulder.
“Hey.”
Elizabeth jolted upright a little at the touch. But she quickly leaned closer to your warmth, spooning your figure with her back frame.
“Hi” she choked out, as she fought back tears.
You sighed. Carrie shuffled her feet, feeling a little out of place in the now very domestic feeling kitchen. You took note of her discomfort, turning your gaze up and to the blonde.
“Up the stairs, first door to the left is yours. Standard guest bedroom, everything you’ll need is there.”
Carrie nodded swiftly.
“Thank you. Really.” She said before scurrying up the stairs.
Once the two of you were alone, Elizabeth finally let her eyes close even if it was just for a moment. She let out a pain staking, shuttering sigh. You could feel her trembling increasing, so you took her and your glasses and placed them on the counter for better stability.
And just as you came back to her, the woman’s knees buckled. You swiftly pulled Elizabeth into your arms, saving her from slamming into the ground. She would have protested about her being a strong, independent woman and being able to handle herself, but not today. Today she needed you. She needed to be taken care of. And there was nothing wrong with that.
“How about a bath, hmmmm sweetheart?” You hummed softly.
Elizabeth nodded slowly, curling her face into your chest as the tears began to stream down her face. You nodded and carried her upstairs and into the main bathroom. Running the water, you helped strip her of her tattered clothing, putting it aside, and then helping her into the partially filled tub.
The brunette curled into her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs, cradling herself in the tub, her head tucked into her knees. Your hand gently caressed her upper back. As you pulled away to give her some space, Elizabeth’s hand shot out and grabbed your wrist, pulling you nearly into the tub with her.
“You want me to join you…?” You gently asked.
Elizabeth finally looked you in the eye for the first time, her eyes glossy and overwhelmed with tears. Her lips trembled even harder as she nodded shakily. She let go of your wrist.
“P-please…”
You immediately nodded, standing up fully and stripping down all of your clothing, throwing them aside to deal with later. You then carefully entered the large bathtub, sitting behind Elizabeth and wrapping your legs around her from either side so that she was in between and could lean back on your chest.
The water was now warm and the tub filled, so you turned the tap off. Elizabeth immediately took the hint and curled up on your chest. Her left cheek rested on your sternum, her hands on the expanse of your left chest. She took another shuttering breath. But this one was a little calmer. Even though you could feel her heart racing on top of you, you also felt her starting to relax a little bit more.
It was silent for a while after that.
“I—I’m sorry…” she stammered in a whisper, finally bringing sound back into the room.
“Hey. No apologies… If you want, we can talk about this in the morning. Tonight, you just rest. Understand?” You cooed gently.
Elizabeth nodded. And before long, you heard the woman dozing off on your chest.

Kirby Fan Cast with Explanations (Villains Edition)
Nightmare: Clancy Brown, look Andrew Rannells did a great job in Right Back At Ya but I personally imagine Nightmare with a deeper voice and Clancy Brown is the only man for the job.
Dark Matter, Dark Nebula, and Zero/02: Scott McNeil, normally I want to avoid doubling up VAs but considering the close relation these characters have and that they're a hive mind, its okay for them to all be voiced by the same guy. He also has incredible range so he could do both a deep voice and a high pitched screechy voiced depending on how you imagine the characters (personally I see Dark Matter with a deep, gravelly voiced while Nebula and 0 have higher, screechier voices).
Marx: Marc Rafanan, he voiced Marx in TerminalMontage's Something About Kirby Super Star video.
Magolor: Alex Hirsch, the casting that started this entire thought exercise. I'd also have him voice Marx but I already said I wanna avoid doubling.
Taranza: Keith David, I imagine Taranza has a silky smooth voice and there isn't a voice that's smoother than Keith David's. Alternatively, David Oyelowo using his Kallus voice.
Sectonia: Either Catherine Tate or Marina Sirtis, Catherine does a very good overdramatic crazy lady as Magica DeSpell in the 2017 Ducktales Reboot while Marina is very threatening and malevolent as Demona and Matriarch Benezia in Gargoyles and Mass Effect respectively.
Susie: Kelly Sheridan, she played Starlight Glimmer in My Little Pony so she can sing, be evil, and be reformed.
President Haltmann: Larry Brantley, he plays Redd White, another purple haired evil businessman, in the Ace Attorney anime's english dub.
Clawroline: She speaks only in meows, so instead she'd have a Waddle Dee who's being forced to translate for her voiced by whoever we get to voice all the Waddle Dees.
Leongar: I know I said I want to avoid doubling up, but it has to be Clancy Brown doing his monstrous voice.
Fecto Elfilis: Rina Hoshino and Kotaro Watanabe simultaneously, just like they did with Mewtwo in Detective Pikachu.
