i originally started this just a few days before janice burgess passed away. if you have been following me for a while, you'd know that the backyardigans is still one of my all time favorite shows to this day: a major brainworm ive had since i was first popped out the womb.

she had such a huge hand in me and my siblings childhoods outside of backyardigans, as well, and i cant understate how much it means to me to see a black woman have such a major role in various popular animated franchises.

RIP to one of my greatest animation inspos, ESPECIALLY when it comes to children's entertainment. the fact that mrs. burgess passed on the day before my birthday hurts especially, so i dedicate this drawing to her! i would not be who i am w/o these goobers, so thank you

The only consistent thing abt my future goals is that I’ll probably end up as a teacher (or otherwise working in the school system) becos even though I’ve had moments where I’ve considered other careers, the only one that’s been consistently appealing is one where I get to tell kids that the symbol for the sun in the sky will be important to Egbert’s first two possible female love interests x3

Bit of an update! Iwanted to share this so people know why I've been pretty dead on Tumblr and also cuz Im just pretty proud of this team. Over the last 6 months I've been a storyboard artist on this lovely little preschool show, it's all traditional stop motion and very tactile and sweet! So traditionally countryside textile English. So CottageCore. So to those living in the UK who know any parents or have kiddies, I hope you're willing to share and keep and eye out 🥰

Sorry it's taken a long time to get other things out, but now that my role in T&F is coming to an end, I'll have more time to carry on with other things like the Superjail comics etc
