Listen, I’m not a Mr Beast supporter by any stretch of the imagination, but there’s some misinformation in this post.

For one he didn’t rent out the Great pyramids because that’s quite literally not possible nor is it legal, he got permission to film in front of them. Neither him nor anybody from his crew are allowed to touch or climb them because thats, again, illegal.

I agree with the post above however because I think him filming in front of these pyramids for some shitty YouTube challenge video is really demeaning. The pyramids are a symbol of Egyptian history and have a long history of Europeans (white folk in general) destroying and stealing their shit with little respect for the country, it’s people and the history it holds. They also serve as a symbol of the Egyptian monarchy and the slavery that happened under Egyptian rule, having a challenge under the literal shadow of a monument that was built with slave labour isn’t exactly the best visual for him to put out, especially recently with all the allegations that are surrounding him.

In conclusion, always check things before having a reaction but still, I hope Mr beast stubs his bare toe on every corner he comes across for the rest of his life!

I hope this guy fucking dies because

A) he's Mr Beast

B) he has WAY too much money if he's renting out the PYRAMIDS OF GIZA????

C) renting out actual historical landmarks that have already been desecrated and destroyed over thousands of years for a goddamn youtube video is actually disgusting.

idk if you think that they're "just the pyramids", they're the ONLY remaining wonder of the ancient world!!! Not to mention!! they're TOMBS!! sure, the people who were inside are long gone, but like?? idk, maybe i'm oversely sensitive, but being a white dude and desecrating an ancient burial site (for profit) and thus disregarding thousands upon thousands of years of history and culture is probably Up There with the scummy stuff this jackass has done

Mr. Beast pisses me off. This is so fucking depressing. I’ve never watched his content because it seems like just the most twisted pseudo-feel-good stuff you could make, and this is the same. I understand that charity is still charity no matter its framing or motivation, and this will be wonderful for the people who do win $25,000. But I still think I’m not unreasonable for feeling pissed off that one man can post nonchalantly about giving away such an enormous amount of money, “for fun!” and have thousands of financially desperate people falling over themselves to follow and retweet, instead of their doing something else, like going to his house and tying his limbs to four horses and making those four horses gallop away in different directions. Or something.

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities issued a statement saying he had a film permit for outside regular hours, they were never closed to the public, and he was accompanied by archeologists from the site during filming as required.

Going by that, it doesn't seem that different from similar arrangements at other preserved sites around the world. Which I guess just means it fits into existing discussions about such arrangements. But for my own sanity, I needed to know about the supervision and public access.
