Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck.

I've never watched the Chibnall era all the way through, just bits and pieces but I'm starting today watching The Ghost monument for the first time.

I think Jodie's Tardis is an absolutely outstanding set piece and I think most of the criticism it gets is just because the cinematography isn't really doing it justice in a lot of scenes, moody harsh lighting is difficult to get right but its the best for character study so I think its a shame they don't utilize that from what I've seen from other episodes. Just Imagine what Rachel Talalay could do with this.

I love 13s characterization in this episode, its very standard "Doctor Who will save us if we believe" but the obvious toxic positivity makes it more clear than other incarnation that she doesn't really know what she's doing. However, even though its clear the gang can see the cracks in her facade already, I wish Grace's death had more of an impact on their belief in her. I think its really sweet that they instantly understand that The Doctor is someone that needs support and they're kind of adopting her, but one of them really needs to crash out about all this pretty soon.

side characters were fine, but bit too quick to trauma dump in the case of the asshole guy, and resolves his plot off screen. I think most we could solve most of the thematic issues if they just had one more scene of the doctor proposing the racers joint win, and Angstrom making him to beg for it. It show him actually confronting his philosophy and prove her generosity.

All in all I think all this episode needs is some tweaking of the dialogue and the scene progression and we're golden. I'm sensing that "first draft vibe" is going to be a reoccurring theme this era, and unfortunately no second draft means no sensitivity reading. So, I guess that means it's time to watch the episode that made me quit out of frustration as a teen.

early screening color script selections - my favorite part of working on this movie was helping establish the colors with these thumbnail paintings before production started. Most are painted over early storyboards, but some I didn't have boards or designs and had to go off vibes alone. Its cool to see how some of these ideas still made it into the final film. A lot of artists down the line definitely pushed and plussed the colors, and I love how it turned out.
