“—and?” Yoongi asked as he unbuttoned his shirt, a sight she had seen far too often for her liking. He was not shy with her; he could easily undress before her without a second thought. His attempts to walk in on her while she was changing didn't go unnoticed either, though she made sure to show her displeasure by throwing vases at him to keep him out.

Only now did Y/N remember the glass of alcoholic beverage that Namjoon had offered her, remaining untouched in her hands. She decided to take a sip, trying to ease her nerves before the conversation she was dreading.

“—and everything went well, as expected,” said Namjoon observing her as she downed the burning soju.

“Send telegraph to Wang and other families. We’re leaving for Chosen in two hours.” Y/N straightened herself, eyes wide open in disbelief.

“W-what do you mean in two hours?” She stammered. It was just past eight when she gazed at the clock on the wall. That would mean they'd depart at ten and arrive in Seoul around midnight.

"—I thought they just cleared the way. Why are we—" Yoongi cut her off abruptly. "I am waiting no more," he said firmly, locking his gaze with hers, leaving her in shock once again.

"On your way, please inform the maids to pack, and I want the cabin ready," Yoongi instructed Namjoon, who memorized every task with a sense of responsibility, seemingly disregarding Y/N's shattered spirit in the wake of this sudden rush.

“Can we at least talk about it?!” she raised her voice, causing the two men to stop in their tracks. They exchanged knowing looks, making it clear that this was non-negotiable. Yoongi clicked his tongue, biting his cheeks from inside, then turned to face his fiancée with a deceptive sweetness in his tone.

"Of course, my love," he said.

He nodded to Namjoon, who immediately took off, glancing at Y/N with a silent reminder to behave.

“What’s wrong?” Yoongi asked nonchalantly as if this were a perfectly normal scenario.

“I don’t know, do you think this is right?” Y/N kept her tone tense, signalling her discontent.

“Nothing is more right than this,” he answered, pouring himself a drink while taking her empty glass and refilling it with soju.

"Yoongi—" she began to protest, but he didn't let her speak further, having heard her excuses countless times.

“No Y/N. I’m not negotiating this time. We’re getting married tomorrow afternoon and that’s final,” he stated sternly.

"You could at least wait a day! Do you think everyone will just jump because you said it's happening right now? And more importantly, let me mentally prepare for it?!” Her frustration grew, and she gestured wildly, almost knocking over the refilled glass that Yoongi handed her.

“They are already in town. The telegraph is just a confirmation that it will happen tomorrow.” Her distress and panic were understandable; she had believed she had more time than a few hours.

“And you didn’t think of telling me first?!” she raised her voice even higher. That she was in distress and panic was very understandable. Y/N thought she had more time than a few hours.

“No, because you were finally letting me in—” said he, downing the contents of his glass in one go.

“You knew this would happen for a month, and you would have had more time to prepare yourself if running away fifteen hundred times a day wouldn’t be on your mind,” he fired back, raising his voice at her, and immediately asserting dominance.

"I'm getting very tired of this. One step forward and ten million miles back, damn it!" he cursed, slamming the glass down on his desk in frustration. The tension in the room was palpable, and Y/N felt her heart sinking as she realized that her hopes of a slower pace for their relationship had been shattered.

“I have a very easy solution to that—” she said, raising herself to stand up to him.

“—Let me go,” she emphasized every single word, her frustration boiling over, and momentarily forgetting about her deal with Namjoon.

Her emotions were running high, and she went to pull the ring off to prove her point, but he forcefully grabbed her right hand, stopping her in her tracks. Anger filled his eyes as he crossed his other hand, grabbed her by the back of her neck, and crashed his lips onto hers, pressing their bodies against the nearest wall.

hi i'm one of your mutuals but i'm not very comfortable with asking this off-anon ! i would like to ask for your experience/advice. i've been recently questioning being plural but i don't understand how to fully untangle who am i at the moment, how many of me there are and what defines them. the main reason why i started questioning at all was getting a fictive (?) very distinct in values and character compared to how i act socially most of the time. to distinguish me i've tried using 1) strong feelings towards something (problem: depends on emotional state) and 2) what do i remember (problem: all fuzzy), so i wonder if there's an easier method i'm simply missing

Oh god im definitely not the best person to ask, but I'll try my best! Whenever I'm confused on who's who or what's going on, I usually rely on seeing what 'my' interests are. For example, I'm a hugely picky eater, so I'll try and see what food I'm craving in the moment, and if it's something I'd never normally eat, then it's safe to assume it's not me who's wanting it. Or music! I like most music but I'm usually only in the mood for a small handful of songs, so a sudden pull to a song and I don't really want to listen to is a good sign... things like that. Things that you already know your opinions on pretty well, so you'll notice any weird change. Trying to visualise myself in my head can also be pretty helpful at times!! When you're talking with another alter, trying to imagine yourself talking to them face to face can help show you what they look like and help with headspace access/creation, and if you can't visualise them, you might be able to get some clues from how your visualisation of yourself is different from normal.

That being said, please don't feel like you need to know who's who constantly! When you first start discovering your system, it can feel extremely overwhelming and you might feel like you need to know everything about everything as soon as possible and feel in control of yourself again (we definitely did), but I promise there's really no rush to these things. Not knowing who you are in the moment is extremely common, especially with blending and passive influence messing with things. As you start to learn more about your system and your other alters, it'll be easier to determine between them based on their opinions, the sound of their voice and ☆vibes☆, but you don't need to rush this process. You'll learn you have alters who are so different from eachother you can tell when they're there before they even know, and you'll learn you have alters so similar to you you'll never be able to really tell if they're even a separate alter from you- especially if you find out if you're a bigger system. I know it's hard and extremely frustrating at times, but it's probably best to try and go with the flow, slowly learn things but don't force anything, and if sometimes you really can't tell what's going on, take a moment to accept the identity confusion and accept that no matter how much you learn, there will always be moments like this. Try not to compare yourself to other systems online and don't beat yourself up if you make mistakes. You don't need to know or understand everything, no system does.

Homophobia is not chill with me and it’s entirely unbiblical. Sodom and Gomorrah was about hostility and violence, and same sex relationships are not inherently violent. Also, I’m alloromantic asexual, I’m part of the LBGT community.

Gender and sex are both spectrums, not binary absolutes. Adam, before being separated into male and female, was both at once. Trans people, binary and non-binary, are welcome here. Likewise, intersex people are welcome here.

My recommended Bible combination is the JPS Tanakh for the Old Testament and the NRSV or the D-R edition (I personally like NRSV. I do not recommend KJV as it does not take the Dead Sea Scrolls (as well as other recently discovered scriptures) into account.

HERE COMES THE WEIRDEST INTRO POST YET

Alright. I sort of have a source and sort of don’t. If anyone knows a term that covers what I’m about to say, please let me know. I keep bouncing between Introject and Entomate.

My name is Anthon (he/him), and I am Jax’s brother.

Jax posts a lot. He’s a Genshin fictive and his source is Tartaglia. Anyone up to date on Genshin lore can probably figure out where this is going.

I have no idea what to even refer to my alter origin as, let alone whether I can be “sourced” or not… I showed up from his feelings of loneliness and missing his family, and everything about my age, appearance, and personality formed in accordance to his exomemories. My “source,” the canon Anthon in the game, is only ever mentioned and never shown or really talked about in detail. Can I actually consider him a source if the only thing I got from him is my name?

I can’t fully act like an Entomate, since I remember Teyvat, Snezhnaya, Teucer, and the rest of my family very vividly… it’s such a strange grey area to exist in, which is why I don’t normally talk to people or expose my existence in any sort of detail, despite being a cohost and one of the most active in the system.

can nonhuman alters who's bodies normally doesn't look human be able to function in the society? ( ex.: talking, typing on the phone etc)

how do I know if it's an alter and not a kin?

1. Of course they can. You can have only nonhuman alters, only fictives, only littles and it's 100% valid.

To be a valid DID/OSDD system you have to be traumagenic, have at least 1 alter (=you+ someone), have amnesia (or emotional amnesia for OSDD-1B).

You don't need a headspace, less than X alters or whatever is popular. Every system is unique and was created to help you.

2. It depends of alter. I'm a nonhuman alter/ snake hybrid and I type well (in my humble opinion lol).

I had a problem and still have with society but it's more because of my role and character than because of who I am.

I'm ex-persecutor.

You just have to remember that alters can change. Just because someone can't function properly one day doesn't mean it will stay like this forever. You can learn from this alter and alter can learn from you. And please, give him/her/them a chance to be better ( and remember- one day they saved your ass)

PLEASE TALK ABOUT YOUR TAKE ON KHAI'S SEXUALITY I NEED MORE TOL ANALYSIS 😭😭😭

Okay, so on Khai's sexuality. Little warnings before I start: I see him from the prism of my own experience, that, are by definition, not universal to all. My take is nothing more than an opinion about a fictive character (and I will speak about my own life because I love TMI) Also I am a white European cis-woman, and even if my take should have nothing to do about culture, I think it's something to keep in mind. Finally (promise it's the last warning) I will talk about internalized biphobia.

First, a little more about me. When I think about it now, it has always been obvious that I'm not straight (the way Lucy Liu in Ally McBeal still live rent-free in my head like 15 years after the last time I watched this show is a proof). More, that I am not gay either (like I will not say how many time I watched the second Narnia movie because of Skandar Keynes when I was 14). But I only accepted my bisexuality like five years ago (I was 23, something like that). Before that I had like a lot of hookups in like a year, all with men (because ya, at this time I didn't even let me think to date other genders - yes it's here that we start about internalized biphobia). It was easier to only go in date with men, and just not say no to them, than accept I was looking to women the same way. I think you already know where I go. Khai is at first glance a womanizer. Like he has how many girlfriends in the bit where Third introduce him? At leat 5? I don't want to check so let's say that, okay? He seems to have sex with all of them, not so long after meeting them. Also, we realize soon enough that he has no problem to break up with them: girlfriends come and leave, friends stay. And yes, Khai will ditch them (Third the first) for a girl, but at the end he is closer to his friends than to any girl. I already stated that Khai was in love with Third since the start too (like normally you don't need to tell your friend you will never date them, except if you think about it), so why did he never try anything? Don't tell me he didn't know how to flirt, because you flirt kinda in the same way with men and women (and he knows how to do that, clearly). So it's something else. It's not homophobia either. He doesn't seem to have anything to say about the relationship between Two and Un for example (except that he hates Un). It can be him being oblivious (as a proud representative of the dumb bi cliché, I accept Khai as one of us), but I choose to see his reluctance to recognize his feelings for his best friend for what they are in the same way I see my denial of my attirance for women for like 20 years: voluntary blindness. Most of the time it's easier to pretend you're straight or at least mono than accepting you can be attired by more than a gender. I think it has something to do with the "slutty bisexual" narrative (... yeah I never say I was logical). TLDR: I have a lot of empathy for Khai because I interpret him like following the same kind of path than me (except I still don't have a mean significant other who care dearly about me and love me and frankly it's biphobia). I love him among other things because he reminds me of aspects of myself and my past that I have learned to love.

Some terms and notes on DID

We have found this guide to terms useful in learning about ourselves, so we have decided to share it to help others who have DID/OSDD or simply wish to understand the condition. Long post ahead.

DID - Dissociative Identity Disorder, a disorder where the brain splits into separate parts. This disorder usually has amnesia and can cause significant stress to someone, hence it being a disorder. 

OSDD - Other Specified Dissociative Disorder, similar to DID but may not show the same symptoms of DID. They may not have amnesia, or the alters may not front, etc. 

System - Anyone that has headmates or alters. 

Singlet - Anyone who does not have any alters, someone who just has themselves and their own thoughts. 

Traumagenic - A system that exists due to previous trauma. 

Quiogenic - A system that doesn't know or care how it formed. 

Preasigenic - A fuck you term basically meaning "I don't have to tell you my origin, that's for me to know and for you to not make your business." 

Neurogenic - A system that formed due to other mental illness rather than trauma. 

Protogenic - A system that's been plural since birth/as long as they can remember. 

Paragenic - A system caused by MDD (Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder) or similar experiences. 

Median -  A system that rides a gray area as a system. These systems have 2 or more facets that somewhat blend together and may function similar to a singlet, though these facets may still have their own unique thoughts, names, and personalities all of their own. 

Gateway - System that has "walk-in" alters that come and go as they please.

Mixed Origin - System with alters of multiple different origins. 

Polyfragmented - A system with 100 or more fragments or alters. 

Splitting - When an alter goes through a large amount of trauma, stress, or anxiety, an alter can split into 2 or more alters if they cannot handle it. An alter dissociating a lot can also lead to a split. 

Integrating - When 2 alters or fragments become one again. Integration can cause the alter to completely change. Their personality can change, their appearance may change, their age, their memories. It can all change. This is ok, and nothing bad. It is completely normal and can be very good for the system.

Dormancy - When an alter goes dormant, they are nowhere close to fronting. They can be impossible to find in the inner world, you may not be able to feel them at all. This is usually something done completely by the will of the alter and nothing to be worried about, though it is natural to miss them as well. 

Subsystem - When someone in the system has a system! I heard ya like systems, so I put a system in your system. 

Fronting - Being the one in control of the body! Being in the pilot seat, to put it simply. 

Co-Fronting - When two or more alters are fronting or present at the same time. 

Blending/Blurring - When two alters are close to each other, they may temporarily blend together. It may be because of dissociation or a specific trigger. This is only temporary and nothing like integration, which is permanent unless something causes the alters to split once more.

Dissociation - Dissociation is a state where your mind goes blank, thinking and grasping reality may be incredibly difficult or just straight-up impossible. Singlets do this a lot as well, it’s pretty much when your brain goes on auto-pilot. When you’re taking the same route to work as always, doing a daily chore, etc. However, for systems, it's a daily occurrence. Reading a wall of text may be difficult and remembering what it says may be impossible. It can be caused by a trigger, an alter trying to front, or someone co-fronting. If one is dissociating heavily, this can lead to a split. 

Age Sliding - When an alter changes from one age to another. They may get older or younger, this may be caused by a trigger, but not always. 

Host - The one who fronts most often, whoever is in the pilot seat most. This may fall under more than one alter, or there may be no Host at all. All of it is valid! 

Protector - The one who protects the system. They do not always need to protect the body, but rather stay internal and help other alters feel better, or rather they may only protect the body. Whatever way they protect, it is fully valid.

Persecutor - An alter who acts to harm the system, one or more specific alters, or the body. Though, there is often an odd protective reason for these actions. They may feel if they are harming the system, then no one else has to because they are already doing the harm. They may be trying to keep the system "humble". Whatever the reason, by talking things over and treating them as equal, one can find the reason why the persecutor acts how they do. Some persecutors may also be introjects* of abusers. 

Introject - An umbrella term for any system member that is based off of an abuser, family member, caretaker, or a historical, popular/famous, or fictional figure, etc. Includes, but is not limited to, fictives and factives.

Caretaker - Someone who takes care of the system. Not quite a protector, as they tend to stay inside and keep the system running smoothly. They may try to resolve internal conflicts, comfort other alters, etc.

Gatekeeper - Someone who holds back traumatic memories that the system may not be ready to deal with. They can hold back traumatized alters, control who is and isn’t fronting, etc. 

Trauma Holder - An alter who holds traumatic memories for the system. 

Internal Helpers - Alters that only help internally rather than externally, they tend to know more about the system, the inner world, and the structure of things. Think of them as the mechanics of the system. 

Little - An alter that ranges between the ages of 1-12 if the host is not of the same age. 

Middle - An alter that ranges between 13-17 if the host is not of the same age. 

Non-Human/Inhuman - An alter that is something not human, this could be an animal, something paranormal, an alien, a robot, etc. 

Fictive - An alter that is derived from a fictional source. These usually come about due to seeing the character as being able to handle and deal with a situation better than the rest of the system. 

Factive - Similar to a fictive, but derived from a real person. It could be a celebrity someone really likes, a youtuber, even just a really close friend! Anyone derived from real life. 

Fragment - A fragment is a part of you made for specific tasks. Such as walking the dog, doing the dishes, going to school, etc. These can become alters given enough world experience and time. 

Non-Verbal - A term for being unable to speak. Some alters can permanently be non-verbal or only sometimes. It happens, don't be afraid of it! 

Headspace - The space alters go when not fronting, not every system has one and these can differ from system to system! 

Switching - The act of switching front from one alter to another. Not all systems switch but many do!

- Living with the other Egos was nice, but it was often really hectic! One time, Wilford decided it was “too calm” around the house, and decided to release a whole flock of geese into the house! Why? Who knows! Wilford doesn’t really have reasons for his shenanigans! He was mysteriously nowhere to be found during clean up though!

- Whenever the other Egos find something that reminds them of you and Annus, they bring the item to you! Unfortunately, that means your room is full of black and white decorations, so much so that you can barely see the walls! You and Annus appreciate the thought behind it though!

- The other Unus Annus egos live with you guys, which is nice, but it does mean all the Takis in the house go missing. Unsurprisingly, Hee Hoo is constantly covered in Taki dust!

- You and Annus are perceived as being really stoic, but you guys are actually super kind, and love pranks! Everyone ended up learning that the hard way when the Gongoozler’s pool was filled with Jell-O! At first, everyone blamed Wilford, but when he didn’t confess (he normally would, he loves pranks!) everyone was super confused! All of a sudden, Illinois piped up: “It could have been Unus... I saw it with some Jell-O mix earlier... But it couldn’t have been him!” Then Yancy joined in: “What? No, youse has it all wrong! I saw Annus with the Jell-O!” When they all noticed you both were gone and found you guys, they were greeted with the sight of the two of you laughing your asses off.

- Sometimes in doing laundry, Dark’s suits get mixed in with yours and Annus’, and then it’s a whole day thing of “who’s suit is who’s?”

- No matter how annoying everyone can be, you all care about each other, and consider each other family

Heya! We’re the Riptide system, a 15 y/o white-bodied polyfragmented DID system of over 100 alters! We’re introject, protector, and symptom holder heavy! We’ve known we’re a system for slightly under a year now, and a lot of things have changed during that time. We only speak English right now, but we want to learn Japanese, French, and Chinese in the future (I still hate french people BOO FRENCH PEOPLE /j)

We collectively go by Riptide or Rye, and they/them if referring to us plurally, he/they if singular! Our Singletsona ID is transmasc genderqueer + queer + aroacespec. Some of our current frequent fronters are Childe, Venti, Haven, Aether, Tal, and Rosaria.

We’re ND, severely mentally ill, and physically disabled. We’re autistic, schizophrenic, maladaptive daydreamers and have ADHD, OCD, Tourette's, NPD and BPD traits. We also have C-PTSD, major depressive disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, acrophobia, and conduct disorder with limited prosocial emotions. We don’t know what’s wrong physically but are currently waiting for our next doctor’s appointment to start doing labs to try and figure it out.

We’re currently a freshman in highschool, and we’re taking our district’s math class below pre-calc, the name is all fucky but it might be the equivalent of algebra 2 or algebra 3-4 + statistics and geometry, theatre design, art I, graphic design I, and just basic classes otherwise (English, physics, social studies). Our favorite class so far is math & theatre design.

We’re all atheists, agnostic, or pagan. Some of our fictives also believe in source religion, and there may be a few other exceptions. Many of us dislike Christianity due to what I believe to be obvious reasons, and also the fact we’ve had religion focused OCD around Christianity despite not believing the religion. We don’t dislike most Christians, we just have some inherent distrust! Talk about organized religion in general makes us uncomfortable, so please avoid it where possible.

Our political beliefs are all leftist (with shitty exceptions like Luna), but some of us are in different branches of that and most of us are just anti-capitalist. I think Venti, the most political of us, considers vespself a communist, but ly never seems to have the time to research where hy is within that.

Our common introject sources are Genshin Impact (we have almost the full cast I think), MCYT, and our original characters! We also have introjects from various other media and places, such as the introjects of our friends, MHA, and PJO. We also have some song introjects!
