You had been dating Law a little while, a few weeks and it had recently started to become serious which meant it was time for him to meet your brothers.

Not by blood, but the three men always acted like your older brothers, always being over protective and keeping an eye on you.

You hoped Law would do well, pass their critical judgment.

“So, anything I should know?” Law asked as you stood outside the apartment door, you looked at him for a moment, you didn’t think anything would prepare him for how the three were and you also didn’t want to scare him off.

“Nah, just take your shoes off when you get in,” You saw the puzzled look on his face when you nervously chuckled and fumbled with the keys.

Once inside you saw the three. Luffy was at the counter stuffing leftover pizza into his mouth while Sabo made himself tea in the kitchen area.

Ace was flopped on the couch, watching TV.

Law soon found all eyes on him, like he’d stepped foot into a raptor enclosure.

He kept his cool, he didn’t falter under the gazes of all three.

“Tra-guy!” Luffy yelled, spitting out pizza as he recognised Law.

Law winced and you could tell his balls jumped back inside his body at the shrill greeting from Luffy, seemed they already knew one another and that was going to be a story for another day. One huge wall at a time.

“Ace, Sabo, Luffy, this is my boyfriend, Law.” You introduced as you slipped off your shoes, watching Law do the same as he eyed up Luffy with an annoyed expression on his face. Oh yeah, he for sure knew Luffy.

In a blink of an eye Sabo and Ace descended on him. Both slapping a hand hard and firm on each shoulder, giving Law a scrutinizing gaze.

“How did ya both meet?” Ace started the interrogation, looking down his nose at Law, or trying to. Law was taller.

“We both go to the same coffee shop and got talking.” You explained.

“How long have you known each other?” Sabo asked, making sure Law could see all his scars  along his face and neck, trying to come across as intimidating but to his credit, Law held fast.

“Like two months?” You replied and looked from Ace to Sabo and back at Luffy who was still eating.

“Tra-guy is a good guy, he won’t do anything to them, you don’t need to worry!” Luffy stood up for Law, whose shoulders sagged when Sabo and Ace looked over at Luffy, processing what he’d said, backing off a little.

“Really?” Both asked and Luffy nodded, mouthful of food.

“Alright, Law,” Ace said, sniffing and backing down, folding his arms over his chest, still trying to size him up as Sabo also backed down “But if anything happens to kiddo here, we will be the first to know.” Ace added and Sabo nodded. 

The killing intent behind the smiles that Ace and Sabo both plastered on their faces was enough to make Law agree to anything.

Once out the apartment Law sighed and looked at you.

“They were joking right?”

“Oh? Ace maybe, but not Sabo. My exe still doesn’t trust his breaks.” you said like it was nothing, taking his hand and pulling him down the hall.

“W-wait? What?”

“Don’t worry! Anyway, how do you know Luffy?” you simply got a groan in reply.

The sun is setting on a small tropical island. The Straw Hat Pirates have made camp near the beach, with the Thousand Sunny anchored close to shore. A fire crackles in the center of their circle. Meat sizzles. Luffy drools. Sanji flips skewers with style.

“Man, this island’s got some good fruit!” Usopp says, tossing a mango up and catching it.

“And herbs!” Chopper adds, holding up some strange green leaves “These can help with fever!”

Robin smiles softly, reading a book under a palm tree. Franky lounges beside her, sipping cola through a curly straw. Brook hums a tune. Nami counts the day’s haul with a greedy sparkle in her eye.

Just a normal evening.

Then the sky rips open.

A streak of bright orange and pink fire cuts across the sky fast, burning, alive. The crash shakes the ground, sending birds flying into the sky.

BOOM!

“WHAAAAT WAS THAT?!” Usopp shrieks, diving behind Chopper.

“That was too close!” Nami yells, ducking.

“It came from near the ship!” Robin says, already on her feet.

“Let’s goooo!!” Luffy grins and sprints toward the beach.

The Straw Hats rush toward the impact zone, weapons and curiosity ready. Smoke rises in a glowing cloud. The ground is scorched in a ring around something… no, someone.

You.

You’re lying face-down in the sand, groaning, your long fiery hair fanned out like a burning sun. Your armor is cracked and your cape torn, but you’re alive. Barely. You lift your head slowly, golden eyes squinting at the group.

Luffy stares “Woaaaah.”

“A beautiful woman just fell from the sky!” Sanji says, hearts popping in his eyes “I must be dreaming!”

“Don’t go near her!” Nami warns, grabbing Luffy and Chopper by their collars.

“She could be dangerous!” Luffy says, trembling.

“Or need help…” Chopper murmurs, looking worried.

You sit up slowly, wincing “Mmm… Ow… Where… is the… where am I…?”

Everyone freezes. They don’t understand what you’re saying and your voice is melodic, but your words are jumbled, your language alien. You look around, confused. Then your eyes land on the blonde guy with heart eyes, closer to you.

You crawl to reach him.

“I must… do the kissing now” you think, reaching for his face.

Sanji blinks “Eh? What do you—”

SMOOCH.

Sanji’s eyes go wide. He wobbles.

Then he collapses in a dramatic swoon “She kissed meeee—!”

Thud.

Nosebleed. Unconscious.

��…That guy is so weird” Zoro mutters.

You wipe your lips and nod, now understanding their words.

“There. I speak your language now.” You stand slowly, wobbly but tall “Greetings! I am Y/N of Tamaran. I come in peace!”

Luffy bursts out laughing “She’s cool!”

“You kissed him just to speak our language?” Nami asks, still suspicious.

“Yes. It is how we learn on Tamaran,” you explain with a shrug “Is he okay?” You poke Sanji with your foot.

“He’ll live” Robin says, amused.

Brook steps forward “Do you always kiss people to learn languages? May I volunteer next?”

“Back off, skeleton” Zoro grunts.

Luffy grins, walking up to you “You fell from the sky! That was so awesome!”

“Yes. My ship exploded,” you say “But it is fine. I have survived many crashes.”

“You hungry?” he asks, like it’s the most obvious question in the world.

Your eyes light up “Very.”

The fire crackles again as the Straw Hats settle back around it, now with one extra person.

You sit between Luffy and Robin, a plate of food in front of you piled way too high. You eat like someone who hasn’t eaten in days, which is true. Luffy tries to keep up, matching you bite for bite.

“This is most delicious!” you say, cheeks stuffed, sauce on your chin.

“I like you!” Luffy says with a mouthful of meat “You eat like me!”

Robin chuckles “She might be the only one who can.”

Chopper watches from across the fire, whispering to Usopp “She kissed Sanji…”

Usopp stares, still wide-eyed “That was so fast. I didn’t even blink. It was just boom! Lip-lock!”

Nami leans forward, smirking “Okay, I have to ask. Why did you pick Sanji of all people?”

You blink “He was the closest one and also the only one who looked like he wouldn’t have killed me after it. He looked very… open.”

“Pffft—open?!” Usopp bursts into laughter.

“More like too open,” Zoro says, arms crossed “Next time try kissing a rock. Might be less dramatic.”

You tilt your head “Was that not correct? Is kissing not acceptable for the learning of tongues?”

“Not on this planet!” Nami laughs.

“I told you I should’ve gone first” Brook mutters.

Luffy scratches his head “So you kiss someone, and boom—you get to know their words?”

“Yes,” you say “It is how my people learn other languages quickly. A deep connection.”

“Sanji’s ‘deep connection’ was his blood pressure” Usopp snorts.

The cook is still lying nearby, an ice pack on his head. His nose is stuffed with tissues. He groans softly.

“She… kissed me…” he whispers.

“Wake up, Romeo,” Nami says, kicking him lightly “She kissed you out of necessity, not romance.”

“It was the language kiss!” you add. “I did not feel the butterflies in the belly.”

Sanji twitches “Not even a little…?”

“No butterflies” you say firmly, shoving another bite of food into your mouth.

Zoro snorts “You picked the worst guy to kiss.”

“I am seeing that now,” you admit, looking down at Sanji’s dazed face “Is he always like this?”

“Unfortunately” Nami says.

Luffy bursts into laughter “He’ll be fine! He just needs a few hours and maybe a cold bath!”

“I’m honored… even if it meant nothing…” Sanji whispers dramatically.

“You’ll live” Chopper says, dragging a blanket over him.

You lean back against a log, warm and full now, watching the moon rise.

“I like you people,” you say “You are strange. Loud. And full of meat.”

Luffy throws an arm around your shoulder “You’re one of us now!”

“Should we make her kiss more people so she knows more languages?” Usopp jokes.

“No!” everyone yells.

You laugh loud and bright, like a star crackling through the sky.

The night air is warm, and the sky is full of stars. Most of the crew lounges around the fire, bellies full, half-asleep.

Except for Luffy, who’s still staring at you with sparkles in his eyes.

“So wait… you can fly, right?”

You nod, licking sauce off your fingers “Of course.”

“COOOOOL!” he gasps, nearly falling backward “Can you show us?!”

You shrug “Sure.”

You hop to your feet. Everyone watches as a soft glow forms around your body, golden and warm. Your hair floats slightly, and your eyes shimmer. Then you rise off the ground like a rocket, stopping midair above the campfire.

Chopper’s jaw drops “She’s floating!”

“No way…!” Usopp stares up in awe.

You flip midair, do a small spin, and land lightly on your feet again.

“WOAH!! DO IT AGAIN!!” Luffy yells, jumping up.

“Okay” you grin and shoot upward like a comet, then streak across the beach before coming to a smooth stop midair again.

“Her flight is strong” Robin says with an impressed smile.

“She’s like a glowing bird!” Chopper squeaks.

Zoro nods once “I’ll admit… that’s pretty badass.”

You land again and dust yourself off like it’s nothing.

“I can also shoot energy blasts. And punch through steel. And lift very heavy things. But only when I am not hungry.”

“Like a superhuman alien lady warrior princess?” Usopp says, eyes wide.

“Exactly.”

Luffy grins wider than ever “JOIN MY CREW!”

The camp goes silent.

Nami nearly drops her drink “Luffy.”

“Join us!” Luffy says again, grabbing your hands “You’re strong! You can fly! You’d be awesome on the crew!”

“Luffy, idiot, maybe she doesn’t want to join.” Nami says, glaring at him “She probably has a home somewhere, or people looking for her. Maybe she wants to go back.”

You pause.

Then you shake your head.

“No. I do not wish to go back.”

Everyone turns toward you.

Luffy blinks “Huh? You don’t?”

You sit down again, quieter now “My planet… Tamaran… is not kind. I was a princess, yes. But they feared me. Treated me like a weapon. My own sister betrayed me. I was not free.”

There’s a silence.

You look up, eyes calm but serious.

“I crashed here by accident. But… meeting you all? Laughing? Eating? This feels more like home than anything I have known in years.”

Nami frowns slightly “Oh…”

“I do not know what will happen next,” you add “But I would like to stay. If you will have me.”

Luffy grins like a kid given a second dessert “You’re in!!”

“YAY!” Chopper cheers.

Sanji, now conscious and with a tissue in his nose, weakly raises a fist “Welcome… to the crew… my starlight…”

“You’ll fit right in” Robin says, amused.

“Just don’t burn the ship” Franky adds.

Brook bows “Welcome aboard, Miss Space Princess!”

You smile, full and bright. For once, not running. Not hiding. Not being used.

Zoro nods “Looks like we got another weirdo.”

You smirk “You’re welcome.”

Later that night, the waves roll gently against the shore, and the Thousand Sunny glows softly under the moonlight. The fire has died down, and the crew lounges around in that sleepy, post-feast haze.

“Hey,” Usopp says suddenly, pointing at you “Wait. You have powers. Crazy powers.”

“True” you say, still picking at a mango slice.

“So…” he squints “Did you eat a Devil Fruit or everyone in your planet is like you?”

You blink “What is a devil fruit?”

Nami raises an eyebrow “Cursed fruits that give people powers but make them sink like a rock in water.”

“Yeah,” Chopper says “Luffy, me, Robin, Brook—most of us can’t swim.”

Luffy grins and slaps his chest “Worth it!”

You tilt your head “No. I did not eat any devil fruit.”

Zoro leans forward slightly “So you can still swim?”

You nod “Of course. Want me to show you?”

Before anyone answers, you stand up and start running straight toward the water. You glow again, like a comet, and leap into the sea with a perfect dive—splash!

Everyone rushes to the edge of the beach.

Luffy’s eyes are stars “SHE’S SWIMMING!!”

In the moonlight, your figure glides through the water effortlessly, spinning and flipping like it’s nothing. You leap out and dive again, laughing as you surface.

“Okay, now she’s just showing off” Usopp mutters.

“She can fly and swim?” Chopper says, eyes wide “That’s not fair!”

“I don’t like how useful she is” Zoro says with a smirk.

Nami crosses her arms “Great. Now I’m gonna have to hear Luffy say ‘fly me in the sky’ for the next three weeks.”

“I CAN fly with her!!” Luffy shouts “Y/N!! LET’S FLY!! ACTUALLY LET'S FLY RACE!! I AM GOING TO JUMP FASTER!!!”

You swim back to shore and step out, water dripping down your armor, grinning “You will lose.”

“You don’t know that!!” he yells, already bouncing on his heels.

You glance around at the crew, still in disbelief, still amazed, still laughing. You didn’t mean to end up here. But it feels like you belong.

Sanji, wrapped in a blanket, gives a dreamy sigh “A beauty who can cook a man with her gaze and still swim… I am not worthy…”

You wrinkle your nose “Still weird.”

“Fair.”

You plop down again next to Robin, who offers you a towel.

“You really want to stay?” she asks softly.

You nod.

“I do.”

She smiles “Good.”

The stars stretch overhead, the sea sparkles, and for once, you don’t feel like you’re falling.

You feel like you’ve landed exactly where you were meant to.

I just find it very funny that some fans see Law as this dominant daddy alpha male when really he is an awkward nerd who tends to overthink and has a dysfunctional sleep schedule.

Same with Luffy ! He literally is just a silly little guy who is really powerful and who liberates oppressed countries here and there while looking for the One Piece. Clearly, he's not a submissive femboy.

Luffy

“Y/n is my daughter,” Jinbe’s deep voice rumbled across the deck, cutting through the lazy afternoon as some of the crew lounged under the sun.

“Huh?!” they all shouted in unison—everyone except Luffy, of course.

“How are you not surprised, Captain?” Franky asked, raising a brow as he watched Luffy casually pick at his teeth, lying back on the grass and staring up at the sky.

“They look alike,” Luffy said simply, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Usopp’s brain twisted painfully, trying to make sense of it. “How on earth do they look alike? Are you blind?” he snapped, eyeing Luffy with exasperation. “Y/n’s human. Jinbe’s a fishman. Even a blind man could see they look nothing alike!”

Luffy just rolled onto his side, now picking his ear instead.

He didn’t get how they couldn’t see it.

You were calm in every storm. Loyal beyond reason. You even mastered Fishman Karate just like Jinbe. That quiet strength, that steady presence—it was all the same.

To Luffy, it was obvious. You were exactly like your father.

And he couldn’t understand how the others had missed it.

Zoro

“How’d you learn Fishman Karate?” Zoro asked, raising a brow. His tone was casual, but there was clear curiosity behind it. After all, it wasn’t every day a human girl mastered a martial art considered a race’s closely guarded tradition. The real mystery was how you even found a mentor—most fishmen weren’t exactly fond of humans.

“…Well, my papa’s a fishman, so…” you replied with a shrug.

Zoro choked on his own surprise. “You’re a fishman?”

His eyes darted over you, suddenly reassessing everything. “…Or a mermaid?” he added, frowning in confusion, clearly trying to make the math work in his head.

But your laughter derailed him completely.

“Are you serious, Zoro?” you wheezed between giggles. “I was adopted by Jinbe—how do you not know this?!”

“Wow!” Sanji gasped, his eyes turning into shimmering pink hearts as he gazed across the deck. His entire body froze in place, as if struck by lightning, before melting into a dramatic pose—one hand clutched his chest while the other reached toward you longingly.

Jinbei followed his gaze, already dreading what he’d find. Sure enough, there you were—laughing in the sunlight, hair dancing in the breeze, that radiant smile softening the very air around you like a dream plucked straight from the sea.

“She’s absolutely glowing today!” Sanji swooned, practically levitating. “An angel gracing us with a vision of heaven! A vision so enticing, it’s almost torture! If I could just—”

“Not my daughter!” Jinbei barked, snapping Sanji out of his poetic haze.

“D-d-daughter?!” Sanji stammered, his soul practically ejecting from his body. He clutched his head in both hands, staggering backwards like he’d been stabbed. There’s no way Sanji just vocalised so improperly to a potential father in law. “Did you say daughter?!” he repeated, his voice cracking under the weight of his horror. “I-I was only admiring her grace! Respectfully! As a gentleman of impeccable taste! I swear!” Sanji pleaded, bowing frantically. “One day, if I could—”

“Over my dead body,” Jinbe growled, locking eyes with him like a predator staring down prey.

crocodile had always been known as a figure of unyielding stoicism and calculated ruthlessness. as the leader of Baroque Works, this was the kind of man his associates and his enemies knew him to be. his lack of affection made dealing with his job much easier as it left no weak points. something he never planned on changing but, fate had a peculiar way of challenging those with the coldest hearts.

it all started when he stumbled upon a small, orphaned child during one of his operations. his sharp eyes started down your dirty and frail figure with initial disgust. your wide eyes, frightened with terror as you clutched the bread you had stolen from his crew.

"who are you?" his voice was gruff, but there was a hint of curiosity.

you looked up, the piece of bread tightly held against you. "i'm just trying to survive," you replied, your voice surprisingly steady despite the fear in your eyes.

crocodile studied you for a moment, something in your gaze stirred a long-buried part of him and for reasons he couldn't quite fathom. leading him to make a decision that surprised even himself. "come with me," he said, turning on his heel.

he wasn't sure why he took you in, but when asked, he justified it as "practical"—you needed protection, and he had the means to provide it. and for a while, his interactions with you matched his words. he was distant and formal, more akin to a business transaction than a familial bond. providing you with your basic needs, leaving the rest up to his crew.

you, however, was undeterred by his cold demeanor. you approached him with the fearless curiosity only a child could muster. you followed him around, your small hand often tugging at his coat, asking endless questions about everything you saw. you drew pictures, and even attempted to braid his hair one evening. despite himself, crocodile found his heart softening. he started to look forward to your chatter, you innocent laughter, and the way you clung to him whenever you were scared.

but as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, something began to change. he found himself spending more time with you, teaching you about the world in his own gruff manner. he showed you how to read maps, how to defend herself, and even how to play chess. 

while he was going through his newest findings on the poneglyph's, you approached him with one of your textbooks. "dad, can you help me with this reading?" you asked, your voice filled with anticipation. crocodile's heart skipped a beat at the word "dad." he didn't have it in him to correct you, and though he would never admit it, he cherished the title. he set aside his papers and spent the evening helping you with your book, his rough exterior melting away in your presence.

from then on he became your dad. a change his associates noticed almost immediately. exchanging knowing glances with each other whenever they saw him gently fixing your hair or reading you a bedtime story. Over time, they grew fondly of you, often bringing you small gifts or teaching you tricks of their trade. the once cold and fearsome headquarters of Baroque Works became a place of warmth and laughter whenever you were around.

after his defeat in Alabasta, crocodile was arrested. the charges against him were numerous, and the trial was swift. giving him no time to say goodbye or send you to a proper caretaker. a thought that consumed his thoughts daily as he sat in his cell. despite the harsh conditions of his confinement, crocodile's primary concern was always you. 

countless sleepless nights were spent wondering. wondering if you were being taken care of properly. wondering if you were happy and eating well. wondering if you missed him as much as he missed you. the uncertainty gnawed at him, making his imprisonment even more unbearable. but he held onto the hope of seeing his daughter again, the thought of your smile was his only solace.

once he was released, crocodile wasted no time, moving with the singular purpose of reuniting with you again. his heart pounding with fear and anticipation as he and his associates, who had also been released, searched for you. they scoured the streets of the last island they were on, asking everyone they met if they had seen a little girl with bright eyes and a fearless spirit. after days of searching, they found you. you were staying with one of crocodile's old associates, a retired assassin, who had taken you in and cared for you as best as she could.

when crocodile saw you, his heart swelled with relief and joy. his anxiety and worries vanish after confirming his daughter was safe during his absences. you immediately ran into his arms, your face lighting up as tears streamed down your face. "dad!" you cried, throwing your arms around him.

crocodile hugged you tightly, his usual stoic mask slipping away. "i'm here, princess. i'm here," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. he then lifts you up carrying you in his arms as he turns to look at his associate, gratitude shining in his eyes. "thank you for taking care of my daughter."

the associate nodded, a small smile on her lips. this was the first time her boss thanked her. "she’s a special girl."

and i loved the idea of the reader working with their crocodile, but i see crocodile as the kind of dad who would much rather preserve their innocence, by keeping them away from the dangers of his job as best as he could.

Idk if you done this before but could you do a imagine of either the strawhats or heart pirates (your choice) reacting to their newest crewmate die during a battle and then a minute later is up on their feet again cussing how much of a pain it is to deal with this shit. Basically has Deadpool inability to die just without his vulgar attitude and language and a lot less annoying, just seemly chill that they can just, come back to life after being shot? Definitely will give some people a heart attack. (Definitely has their bounty rise a lot after the marines find out they can’t die) plz and thank you!!!!

The battle is chaos. Cannons boom, swords clash, and the air is thick with smoke and the smell of gunpowder. You don’t know exactly how it happens, but one moment, you’re blocking a sword swing, and the next, a bullet tears through your chest.

Your body hits the ground with a dull thud.

Silence.

Then, pure, unfiltered panic.

"Y/N!" Luffy’s scream cuts through the battlefield like a knife. His eyes widen in horror, and his usual carefree grin vanishes "Oi! Get up!"

Zoro, mid-swing against an enemy, falters as he sees your unmoving body "Damn it! They got Y/N!" His grip on his swords tightens "I should’ve been watching!"

"Oh no, oh no, oh no!" Usopp’s voice is shrill. He looks like he’s about to throw up "We—we need Chopper! Chopper!"

Sanji’s cigarette drops from his mouth as he turns sharply "Tch—those bastards." His expression darkens, and before anyone can stop him, he launches a devastating kick that sends one of the attackers flying "They’re dead. Every last one of them."

"Y/N!!" Nami’s eyes are wide with shock. She looks from your lifeless body to the enemy forces and then to Chopper, who is already rushing over, tears forming in his eyes.

"No! No, no, no! Hold on, Y/N!" Chopper skids to your side, his tiny hooves trembling as he checks for a pulse "They’re—THEY’RE NOT BREATHING!"

"No," Robin murmurs, brows furrowing "Not like this."

Franky’s hands clench into fists "That’s it! These jerks are SUPER dead!"

Brook, ever the gentleman, removes his hat solemnly "Ah…Y/N, my dear friend… You will be missed."

The crew collectively ignores him.

Luffy’s hands shake "This isn’t funny" he mutters. His knuckles turn white as he clenches his fists "They were my crew! They were—"

Then, right in the middle of their grief, in the middle of the battlefield, you groan.

"God, that hurt like hell."

The silence that follows is deafening.

You push yourself up, rubbing your chest where the bullet hole should be, but there’s nothing. Just a torn shirt and a lot of blood.

"Ugh, I hate dealing with this shit." You stand up, rolling your shoulders like you just woke up from a nap "That one stung."

Luffy’s jaw drops "HUUUUUUH?!"

Chopper looks like he’s about to pass out "B-B-But you were—you weren’t breathing! You were DEAD!"

"Yeah, about that," you say, dusting yourself off "I don’t really stay dead. Kind of a thing I have."

Nami looks like she’s questioning reality itself "Excuse me?!"

"You mean," Usopp wheezes, pointing at you like you’re some kind of horror story, "you just DIE and come back?! Like Brook??"

You nod "Not really... but pretty much."

Sanji, still mid-rampage, freezes "...You mean I just got worked up for nothing?"

"I mean, I appreciate the rage," you say with a grin "Nice to know you guys care."

Zoro stares at you for a long moment "You had us thinking you were gone, dumbass."

"Not my fault! I was shot! I wasn't expecting that!!"

"HOW ARE YOU EVEN ALIVE?!" Franky yells, gesturing wildly.

"Oh, I just don’t die."

"THAT IS NOT AN EXPLANATION!"

Luffy suddenly laughs, his earlier grief completely gone, replaced with awe "Shishishi! That’s so cool! Y/N, you’re like a zombie! But not a creepy one like Brook!"

"Hey!" Brook protests "That’s hurtful!"

Robin, ever the calm one, tilts her head "So you’ve had this ability this entire time?"

You shrug "Yeah, but I never really had to use it around you guys. You all are usually pretty good at keeping me from getting shot or anything deadly."

Chopper is still hyperventilating "I CAN’T HANDLE THIS KIND OF STRESS."

"Well, get used to it, buddy." You pat his tiny head "‘Cause something tells me the Marines are gonna be real interested in me once they find out."

Nami groans "Ugh. I can already hear our bounties going up."

"Not my fault!"

Zoro sighs "You’re a pain in the ass."

You grin "And yet, you’d miss me if I was really gone."

He clicks his tongue but doesn’t deny it.

Luffy laughs again and throws an arm around your shoulders "This is awesome! We’re unstoppable now! Let’s go kick some more ass!"

And just like that, the chaos resumes with the Strawhats now fully aware that their newest crewmate is literally impossible to kill.

The battle wraps up quickly after your "revival", mostly because the enemy forces are too busy freaking out about the supposedly dead person walking around like nothing happened. Some of them flat-out drop their weapons and run. Others just stand there, gaping in horror.

"D-Demon!" one of them shouts before bolting.

"Huh," you say, watching them flee "Didn’t expect that reaction."

Luffy grins "Shishishi! You scared ‘em good!"

Sanji lights another cigarette, shaking his head "I don’t blame them. If I saw a corpse cursing about how annoying it was to die, I’d run too."

Chopper is still clutching his chest, trying to breathe properly "I’m going to need so much tea after this."

Nami rubs her temples "You and me both, Chopper. You and me both."

Usopp finally stops hyperventilating long enough to poke you in the arm "Okay, but like… does it hurt? When you die?"

You nod "Oh yeah. It sucks. But I get over it."

Franky whistles "That is SUPER messed up."

Robin chuckles "It’s certainly rare. The government would definitely want to study you to know how to avtually kill you."

You groan "Yeah, that’s what I’m worried about. If they find out, I’m probably getting a massive bounty."

Luffy’s eyes sparkle "That means we’re gonna be even more famous!"

Zoro crosses his arms "Not necessarily a good thing, Captain."

Before the conversation can continue, a loud explosion erupts from the distance. The remaining enemy ships have started retreating, but they’re firing cannons to cover their escape.

One of the cannonballs heads straight for you.

"Move!" Nami shouts.

"Nah, I got it" you say casually.

The cannonball slams directly into you, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and debris.

The Straw Hats lose their minds for the second time that day.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Sanji yells.

Chopper throws himself to the ground, screaming into his hooves "I CAN’T KEEP DOING THIS!"

"Why didn’t they move?!" Nami shrieks.

Luffy just grins "They’ll be fine. Right, Y/N?"

The dust settles, and there you are, lying on your back in a crater, looking mildly annoyed.

"Okay," you groan "That one sucked more than the bullet."

Brook tilts his skull "Ah, but did you feel it in your bones? Yohohoho!"

"I swear to god, Brook."

Franky shakes his head "I don’t know if this is amazing or horrifying."

Robin smiles "Both."

Zoro sighs "At this point, I don’t think anything can actually kill you."

You give him a thumbs-up "Pretty much hiw it works"

Luffy bursts into laughter and punches his fist into his palm "Alright! That means we really are unstoppable now! Let’s get back to the Sunny and celebrate!"

The crew cheers, except for Chopper, who is still lying on the ground, contemplating his life choices.

As the Thousand Sunny sails away from the battlefield, a transmission crackles to life in a Marine base far away. A serious-looking officer listens to the report with growing concern.

"…Confirmed reports indicate that the Straw Hat Pirates have a new crewmember with apparent immortality. We are still gathering information, but if true, this could be one of the greatest threats we’ve ever faced."

The officer frowns "Increase surveillance on their movements. If this is real, their bounty is going to skyrocket."

The crew is still struggling to process what they just witnessed. Chopper is on his fourth cup of tea, shaking slightly. Nami is already calculating how much higher her bounty is going to be just because of association. Luffy, meanwhile, is grinning ear to ear.

"Alright, Y/N, let’s test it!" Luffy exclaims.

You blink "Test what?"

"Your power! Let’s see how much you can take before you go down!"

"Absolutely not," Nami cuts in immediately "We are NOT using our crewmate as a test dummy."

Luffy pouts "But it’s so cool! Y/N’s like a superhero! Or a really bad zombie!"

Brook raises a hand "As an actual undead individual, I must say that I find this comparison quite unfair!"

Zoro leans back against the mast, arms crossed "I say we let them do what they want. If they really can’t die, it’s useful information."

Sanji glares at him "And what, you just wanna go around slicing them up for fun?"

"Did I say that?"

"You were thinking it."

Usopp waves his hands frantically "Okay, okay, let’s NOT casually experiment with Y/N’s immortality like it’s some kind of game! We should be asking the important questions."

"Like what?" You ask.

"Like… can you drown?"

Silence.

Everyone turns to look at you. Your eye twitches.

"Usopp," you say slowly "Why would you even ask that?"

"Because it’s important! What if we’re in a battle at sea? What if you fall overboard? Will you just come back to life at the bottom of the ocean?"

You pause, then frown "…I have no idea."

"WELL, THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT!" Luffy cheers and suddenly grabs you, launching himself off the ship and into the water.

The crew collectively loses their minds.

"LUFFY, YOU ABSOLUTE MORON!" Nami screeches "YOU’RE A DEVIL FRUIT USER!"

Sanji dives in instantly, hauling both you and Luffy out of the sea. Luffy is sputtering and laughing, while you just cough up a lungful of seawater.

"So?" Luffy asks excitedly "Did you die?"

You glare at him "I ALMOST DID, YOU IDIOT!" You shake your head and squeeze water out of your shirt "Looks like I still need to breathe. Maybe I'll just be alive once I'm out of water..."

Chopper collapses in relief "THANK GOD."

Robin chuckles "Well, that settles that. Y/N isn’t entirely indestructible."

Franky grins "Still, that’s SUPER impressive! The Marines are gonna have a fit when they get the full report on this."

Meanwhile, at Marine Headquarters, a high-ranking officer slams a fresh bounty poster onto the table. Your face stares back at them, right beneath a massive new bounty.

WANTED: Y/N Dead or Alive Bounty: 1,200,000,000 Berries

"Find them. Now."

zoro unlocking conquerors/supreme king haki while having a flashback about luffy, explaining him as the reason he did so, was insane narratively.

zoro’s devotion is as unquestioned as humans’ need for oxygen, his loyalty is as sure as the need for ground beneath our feet. but to place luffy at the center of even his willpower and ambition, that’s something.

supreme king haki is an unteachable, one in a million power that’s tied with having ‘kingly’ qualities. but zoro doesn’t want to be a leader, he relishes in following. he states, with a picture of luffy in his mind, luffy commenting that he needs no less than the world’s greatest swordsman, that he made a promise. his promise to kuina and luffy is at foundation of his drive.

zoro’s supreme king haki does not stem from the ambition of a king, it comes from wanting to be his king’s very best soldier. he wants to be the greatest, and he wants to be no less than that for luffy. a king, sure, but in the way that a king would answer to a god.

when asked “so you intend to be a king, then?” zoro’s initial instinct was simple, “what?” because that had never even crossed his mind. but he agrees shortly after, with the image of luffy in his mind, “that’s right.” and he became the king of hell, serving a god of the sun.

zoro doesn’t have ambition to conquer, not in the same way luffy does, but he wants to conquer whatever stands in luffy’s way. his ‘kingly’ attributes are accelerated by devotion, like a king would devote his life to his country, his everything. while becoming the world’s greatest swordsman is a convoluted example of a king, sitting atop a throne of symbolic power, i think it’s more accurate to call what zoro unlocked ‘supreme soldier’ haki. ‘conquerors’ haki in the way a marshal would lead an army for his king, and not the king himself. conquering the battlefield as a victory for not only himself, his ambition interconnected with others (those he loves).

i don’t mean to diminish zoro’s ambition, to be the world’s greatest swordsman is a king in itself and that should be recognised. but nothing can detract from the fact that as he unlocked this power, the power of ultimate will, his mind was full of luffy and his smiling face. luffy has always and will always be at the base of zoro’s goal, since the day he met him. becoming the world’s greatest swordsman was no longer solely tied to kuina but now equally his captain, who could have no less than the world’s greatest swordsman.

and what an interesting development we saw happen in front of us. comparatively, the reason for every strawhat’s dream is born from their past, but we witnessed the reason behind zoro’s dream evolve in present time. he no longer strives for kuina alone. he will be a king, because it is what luffy needs as well. he will be the world’s greatest swordsman because he’s got a promise to keep to his captain and his best friend.

a one in a million power, unlocked as a result of a promise. zoro’s devotion is indescribable, his loyalty and his love is quite literally one in a million. if not even rarer as we have never seen an instance of supreme king be activated for someone else. i cannot articulate the beauty of it
