Sanji treasures his hands.
He never uses them for violence, or for destruction. Instead, Sanji uses his hands to create.
From a humble onigiri to a hearty beef bourguignon, to a fancy cocktail or a fluffy soufflé. There is nothing that those hands couldn’t whip up instantly on any of the crew’s whim.
But most of all, Sanji uses his hands to love.
His hand holds yours so gently, other times interlocking tightly as if never wanting to let go.
His hands knead and rub your tight shoulders, your tired feet, your aching back.
His hands pour fragrant shampoo upon your hair, massaging your scalp as you relax in the hot waters of the tub.
His hand stays at the small of your back whenever you were walking together, keeping you near in a sea of strangers.
His hands tickle your sides playfully, coaxing sweet, joyful laughter out of you.
His hand stroke your hair to a hummed lullaby as you fall asleep.
His hands grip your waist so tenderly as you slow dance around the kitchen, the moonlight streaming in through the window.
His hands roam up and down your back as he holds you in a warm embrace, your heart racing in time with his.
His hands cup your face, caressing your cheeks as he gazes lovingly into your eyes.
His hands worship your body, featherlight touches on your skin leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake.
Sanji treasures his hands, and he uses them to treasure you.

Uh, okay, what about a One Piece Mens (Ace, Law, Crocodile and Sabo) with a Fem! S/o who has a Devil Fruit conected to flowers? Like, she can create flowers and even use them as a weapon or make poison 👀
FLOWERS + ONE PIECE MEN
info: i hope you like this!!! tw mentions of murder and things of that nature || commissions/ko-fi + b-day raffle (open until the 15th)
ace finds your devil fruit simply stunning. whenever you use your powers, his eyes shine so bright and his smile gets so wide—if you look at him, you would almost see a tail wiggling behind him. he often asks you questions about specific flowers that you always use, a soft smile playing on his lips as he hears you ramble. make him a bouquet of your favorite flowers and catch him almost crying out of joy; sharing something like that with him will always make him love you even more.
law considered you his right hand during medical emergencies. he could always count on you to help him with your flowers, law himself often using them to make medicines for the ship. you don't know about it, but he keeps a small diary with all of your flowers and their descriptions; his favorite hobby now is payong attention to you, so he can fill even more pages in the diary. whenever you handle anything by yourself, he smirks with pride—though, he wouldn't admit that to anyone but yourself.
to crocodile, you were just a pawn that he used to poison his enemies easily. slowly, you grew in his heart; your favorite flowers slowly appearing all over his house, you got sent to less and less dangerous missions without a proper explanation as to why. when you two started to have a relationship, you became his most prized thing in the worldhe would say that is just because of your devil fruit, but you knew it wasn't just that. the only way that he allows you to use your powers now is to keep the garden, that he built just for you, alive and bright.
sabo finds your devil fruit very amusing. he always loved how you could be the most majestic person alive, but also the most dangerous enemy. his favorite thing is to lay on a field of the flowers you grew, knowing damn well you could use them to kill him at any time. but you wouldn't. his biggest dream became making the world free, so you could give people joy with your flowers, the same way that you gave him joy. during battles, he always makes sure to be close to you, in case you're too focused on making your flowers grow and you don't see a potential attack. he is always ready to have your back, but he would always brush it off as "taking care of the best florist he knows".

⋆ ˚。⋆౨ৎ˚ PUTTING A BOW ON THEIR BELONGINGS 🧸ྀི — monster trio reaction !
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ note! tried messing around bc i wanna find a cute new layout for my posts:( anywho! i hope you enjoy this since im soooo late to this trend *^*
⋆ ˚。⋆୨ LUFFY ୧⋆ ˚。⋆
luffy trusts you, he wouldn’t have given you his hat to look over otherwise. well, look over is a stretch – you weren’t feeling too good and decided to stay on the ship, whereas him and others went to explore. but as time passed, you got bored… and ended up having a brilliant idea. you decided to wrap a pink bow around his hat. not pining it with needles or anything, not to damage it. just loosely wrapping the pink bow you stole from robin, tying a little bow as well. the strings were too long so they fell off the offer of the hat. with a smile you put it on and glanced at yourself in the mirror.
“y/n, we’re back!” luffy’s voice echoed through the corridors and you panicked - you thought you will have time to take it off. but then the door slammed open and your boyfriend standing in them. his features softened upon noticing his hat on your head. he walked up to you and curiously twirled with the strings, a gummy smile growing on his lips.
“i don’t think the bow suits me but we should get you one as well, then we’ll be matching!” luffy grinned and put the hat on his head. you smiled softly and his arm wrapped around you “are you feeling better?”
when the pink strings fell before his eyes, he started blowing air in order to get them out of his sight. safe to say, he wasn’t fully listening to you.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨ SANJI ୧⋆ ˚。⋆
to be honest, you thought he would notice right away. but days passed by and sanji was still cluelessly roaming around with ribbon around his apron straps. maybe because the bows weren’t too big or in an unusual place, you weren’t sure. you didn’t mind telling him since he looked cute in those. even luffy and usopp noticed the cook’s apron decorations, chuckling.
“what?” sanji asked, putting a plate on the table, not amused.
“cute little bows you got there” usopp scowled. you looked up since he was standing behind you. sanji just scoffed and put a hand on your shoulder, squeezing it gently.
“i know. y/n put them for me, i wouldn’t dare take them off” he hummed and you felt your cheeks warm up.
“you noticed?” you asked shyly.
“ever since you put them on. they’re cute, i don’t mind” he hummed and left to continue serving the dishes (not before leaving a tender kiss on the top of your head).
⋆ ˚。⋆୨ ZORO ୧⋆ ˚。⋆
obviously, you planned to wrap a ribbon around at least one of zoro’s swords! but the problem was… he carries them around with him everywhere. luckily, he loves you.
“is this… necessary?” the swordsman grunted, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“mhm” you sing-sang cheerfully, sticking your tongue out to focus. he just huffed and watched you carefully wrap a pink bow around his second sword.
zoro didn’t even realize when he started smiling.
“okay, beautiful. now, onto the last!” you chirped and leaned forward to grab the last sword.
“and how exactly do you want me to fight with those?” zoro teased, his arms crossed.
“normally, duh!” you grinned and placed the sword gently on your lap. zoro watched you trace the handle absentmindedly yet gently. his heart felt weirdly warm and all fuzzy upon seeing how tender you were with them.
his eyes followed your swift movements, your fingers tying a bow quickly but precisely.
“and all done!” you looked up and blush spread across your face. zoro looked totally whipped. “don’t look at me like that”
“like what?” zoro asked and reached to hide his katana back in its safe space.
“like you’re in love or something” you huffed, half teasingly. then, to hide your face, you ploppep your head onto his lap.
zoro gently traced the pink bow around the handle of his sword.
“yeah, as if” he scoffed and shoved you gently. you rolled off him, deciding to wrestle the swordsman. (and failing miserably).

Hello it's me! Sorry for being late sending this reply, but is it alright if I ask for the strawhat's with a dog hybrid reader that ends up taking the treasure off their ship? Sorry if this sounds crazy (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
mink on the run! the world's cutest thief | straw hats
➳ categories: canonverse, female canine mink reader
➳ word count: 2k
➳ summary: After scoring a gold mine on an island, the Straw Hats throw a celebration. Unbeknownst to them, a visitor decides to join in.
➳ notes: thanks for the request! 🧡 not sure how you wanted it to turn out but i ended up writing a one piece filler episode/scene. on that note, sorry not sorry chopper
➳ cross-posted on ao3
Odd things have been surrounding the Straw Hats lately. Robin was the first to sense that something felt off, then Usopp second. After that, everyone else followed, raising their concerns one by one.
Turns out it was just Luffy sneaking into the kitchen for a midnight snack.
Once that was settled, the rest of the crew kept their guard down for the rest of their stay on the island, hopping off the Thousand Sunny and roaming around the capital.
Nico Robin, however, still feels iffy.
Luffy's appetite did not spike her radar, so she doubted it was the cause. Looking at their circumstances, though, she understands if everybody else just shrugged it off because they're preparing for yet another celebration, the excitement fogging their heads.
Still, she decides to keep an eye out, afraid that something might be after them.
Brook is the first to notice her vigilance.
"You seem to be worried about something, Robin-san."
Robin tells him of her suspicions. To her surprise, Brook agrees to help her, and together, they go about their days keeping watch.
Unbeknownst to them, inside a little cask stowed away at the corner of the Thousand Sunny's lawn deck, emerges a canine mink previously in hiding.
You lift the lid of the cask and scan your surroundings before deciding to hop off. The sun is gone and the sky is dark, while the ship of the Straw Hat Pirates is, for once, silent.
Taking a whiff of the fresh air blowing from the combers of sea, you stretch your limbs and crack your bones to prepare your body for the strenuous movements needed for your extravagant plan. A small smirk forms on your lips when you eye the door to your right.
You force yourself into the room, but end up leaving disappointed as you realize that you're in the men's quarters. You step out quickly, then race up the steps by the foremast to check the room on the upper level.
Kicking the door open, you instantly smell the items you're after.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ship is the Straw Hats' cook, humming a soft tune to himself as he prepares tonight's dinner celebration for the entire crew and their acquainted islanders. In the middle of cooking, however, he smells something different in the air, and his senses start tingling.
He sets the gas stove on low and pokes his head out of the kitchen door, looking into the darkness to investigate the cause of his senses. When he's charmed by the scent, he pauses his cooking, promptly dashes out of the kitchen, and walks across the lawn.
That's when he notices the light emitting from the women's quarters. Faint and mysterious, Sanji decides to check it out, knowing well enough that Nami and Robin aren't on the ship at the moment. Suddenly, he runs into an equally confused Franky emerging from the basement, who quickly agrees to come with him to check the light.
When they get to the door, that's when they find the impostor.
"We got a thief!" yells Franky upon seeing you rummaging through Nami and Robin's items, your furry hands inches deep into the treasure chest that one of the girls has stationed beside the beds. Alarmed, you hop on your knees and throw two gigantic sacks of treasure on your back. "Aow! The thief is stealing Nami's treasure, and she's SUPER cute!"
Facing the two men by the door, you realize that you're trapped. Looking to your right, you find two portholes large enough for you to crawl out of.
Deciding to bail on your operation, you plead with the two men cutely, your eyes turning glossy and your eyebrows knitting together.
"Garchu!" you greet with your adorable puppy eyes. Realizing that you're a mink, the blond is immediately entranced, while the other stands his ground and doesn't react to your scheme.
Nonetheless, you hastily open the porthole and squeeze your sacks of treasure through them. Startled, the two men decide to go after you with the blue cyborg initiating the chase, but you're long gone from the Sunny by the time he forces his bulky metallic body through the opening.
Hopping off the ship, you look behind you with your tongue sticking out, barking in between laughs as you realize that they're chasing after you.
"My beautiful lady, wait up!" the blond man of the Straw Hats yells.
You make a face of disgust. "Ew, what's his problem?"
You make a beeline for the forest, dodging tree branches and obstacles swiftly to lose the men behind you, but they maintain their speed. You quicken your pace and head straight to the island capital, where you can hopefully blend into the crowds and disappear into the night.
As the festive crowd goes wild, mingling merrily with the Captain, sniper, musician, and talking reindeer of the Straw Hats, the top drinkers of the pirate crew congregate at the gazebo, where a competitive crowd cheers on their betted pirate. Nami wipes the corners of her mouth after having drunk another bottle dry, earning a snicker from Zoro, whose competitiveness coaxes him to grab another bottle of alcohol. Across from the two, Jinbe laughs heartily over his 15th cup, watching the chaos all go down.
Robin sits around a campfire with the island children, styling their hair into fishtail braids, when she feels something strange yet again. She looks behind her only to see Luffy and the others dancing around the pavilion, concluding that it might just be her paranoia talking.
She proves herself otherwise, however, once Franky and a heart-eyed Sanji emerge from the forest breathily.
"Aow! She's stealing our treasure!"
Robin looks across the pavilion and sees you, a canine mink, holding two fully loaded sacks of treasure and looking awfully similar to their friends back in Zou. You weave through the crowds with purpose, almost losing her attention, but she summons replicas of her hands on the ground where you walk, gripping your ankles.
Stumbling on your feet, you growl at the happenstance before leaping into the air forcefully, grabbing the attention of the many islanders around you. The music stops as gasps of surprise echo across the pavilion. Robin summons another handful of her limbs to restrain you, but you shock her with your Electro, allowing you to move around freely.
You land on top of the Straw Hats' Captain and sniper, knocking them on the ground with your two feet. Their reindeer and musician scream, and you pluck the pink cotton candy away from the reindeer's hands.
He starts crying, but you run away.
"MYYY LADYYY! Come back!"
Looking behind you, the blond cook from the Thousand Sunny is back on your trail with the blue-haired cyborg following him closely. You grumble under your breath and dash to the gazebo, where the crowd stays ignorant to the turn of events, too involved in the drinking competition they're hosting to care.
Suddenly, you leap across the table, triggering further chaos as you crash the competition. Jinbe and Nami scream, while Zoro ignores the commotion as he finishes the last of his alcohol.
"Give me that!"
You snatch the swordsman's cup and drink the last few drops of liquid, grimacing at the bitter taste. Angry, Zoro jumps to his feet and readies his swords to fight.
"Nami, that dog mink stole our treasure! Get her!"
At the sound of the cyborg's cries, you realize that you're in the presence of the woman whose room you were in earlier. Gulping, you hop off the table and sprint out of the gazebo. Nami, the woman with tangerine hair, begins to heat up at the news and reaches for her Clima-Tact.
To your luck, you're long gone from her sight before she could use her weapon. You head toward the maze of residences that engulf the city, taking sharp turns and running down alleyways to lose them.
Moments later, you run into a cute predicament.
"Stop right there! Freeze!"
A laugh erupts from your chest the moment you spot the Straw Hat's talking reindeer. He holds a small paw right in front of his other one in a kung fu stance, but he's so cute and tiny that you're incapable of feeling scared.
Looking at the cotton candy in your hand, a wicked idea comes to mind.
"Give back our treasure, you mink!" he growls.
"Ah, but that would just be upsetting." You feign a frown. "If I returned the treasure, will you-teia let me go?"
"Absolutely not!"
"Even with cotton candy?"
The reindeer's eyes soften as you wave the strawberry-flavored candy in your hand. His hands relax, and he slowly reaches out for it.
You hold it back.
"No can do. You-teia have to clean it first with water!"
You give him the candy and pull out a water bottle from your knapsack. With a wicked smile, you pour water onto the cotton candy, causing it to melt in the reindeer's hands until it's fully gone.
"All done! Enjoy!"
As you run past him in laughter, he realizes what you had just done, looking back and forth between the melted (practically non-existent) cotton candy in his hands and the spot where you once stood. Tears well up in his eyes a second time as he realizes that he just got fooled.
Two streets down from yours, an annoyed Zoro runs after a fuming Nami with her Clima-Tact out and ready to attack. Jinbe is on the other side of town with Brook and Usopp acting as lookouts. When she sees your tiny furry figure at the end of the street, the two humongous bags of the Straw Hats' precious treasure riding on your back, Nami erupts into flames and hurtles down the path to catch up to you.
You run faster. Suddenly, at an intersection where four streets meet at a marble sculpture of the island's ancient hero, appears the Straw Hats' idiot Captain and another one of his nakamas with the Paramecian Devil Fruit power, holding the talking reindeer in her arms.
"O-Oi, is this really the mink that made Chopper cry?" Luffy asks Robin as he looks at you confusedly. Chopper wails, flailing his hands around as rivers of tears flow down his face.
"T-That's her! S-She"—he sniffs—"she stole my cotton candy and made it disappear!"
The three watch you laugh, one arm clutching your stomach.
"There she is!" Franky's voice rings out from the street to the west, the creepy blond man running after him.
"Get the treasure and stop her, you idiots!" Nami commands from behind, and the Straw Hats follow immediately. You channel your Electro and shoot bolts toward them, effectively knocking them down besides Nami and their Captain. Nami unravels her Clima-Tact, generating a gigantic Thunder Ball of electrified air. She hurls the ball toward you, but you send it flying back with a magnified fist of your Electro.
"What do you think you're doing?! You can't do that to my crew!" Luffy hops on your head and blocks your line of sight. You scream.
"Get off me!" You push him off you as you run out of breath. Digging into your knapsack, you grab the piece of venison meat you were saving for dinner and shove it in his mouth. Luffy bites down on the meat, distracted, so you take the opportunity to leave, heading east.
Despite your attacks, the blond man of the crew—Sanji, you believe his name is—stands back up feebly and uses every bit of his energy to still run after you.
He closes the distance between you, but he's too slow to catch up as he sees you stand on the ledge of a stone bridge.
Turning around, you shoot him a wink, causing him to swoon.
"Bleh! Thanks for the treasure, Mugiwara! Garchu!"
Sticking your tongue out at the defeated crew, you dive into the river and swim toward the estuary leading to the sea, never to return with your treasure safe and secure behind you.

——————
For the first couple of weeks of taking medication for your illness you spent most of your time sleeping, the rest of the time you were awake long enough to eat the light meals planned for you and very little else. You were exhausted and sluggish, barely able to manage out a few sarcastic comments but even they lacked your usual tone or maintain your focus long enough for it to be considered fun for either you. Doflamingo had expected to see some sort of change by now and in his eyes this lack of results was bordering on unforgivable. As he ate his breakfast his face was like thunder and everyone could feel the heavily brewing storm under the surface.
His grin was gone and the vein against his head throbbed at the slightest sign of annoyance. Even his family and elite members felt at risk of facing the brunt of his anger when he would eventually snap. Doflamingo’s gaze sharpened on the clock and realised he’d spent too long in the dining room. It was already time for the doctor’s to conduct their morning check. Sharply he stood, ignoring how everyone in the room flinched at his sudden movement and left the room, heading straight to your quarters. With every step he took his fingers flexed and cracked, ready to lash out if he didn’t get any sort of satisfactory news.
Throwing open the doors he set his glare heavily on the two doctors who paled and froze at the sight of their leader. Against your propped up pillows you blinked tiredly and followed their stare to watch Doflamingo let the door close behind him. Now that you were regularly taking medication you no longer needed his constant presence to avoid being in pain but you felt constantly drained and your body aching but it was bearable. With a sigh you looked to the doctors. “You two can go.” The doctors quickly looked to you, visibly relieved to be given permission to avoid Doflamingo when he was clearly close to committing murder. They hesitated slightly and you let out an annoyed sigh, forcing yourself to glare at them. “Leave him to me. Go and do what you said you would.”
At your instruction the doctors warily moved towards the door, glancing at Doflamingo with increasing nervousness the closer they got. Doflamingo said and did nothing to stop them and waited until they left and heard their hurried steps echoing down the corridor before he glared at you as you slowly sipped at the herbal tea the servant had left along with your untouched breakfast. “Explain yourself.”
“Morning to you too.” You muttered with another tired sigh. Doflamingo could’t help but notice that your breathing seemed improved, was he imagining that the rattle in your chest had lessened? “I’m not in the mood for guessing. Explain what?”
“A few things. Explain why you’re telling the doctors to leave. Why you’re not eating your breakfast and explain why there isn’t any medication for you to take.”
“I told the doctors to leave so they can go and make a start on the next course of medication and also so you didn’t get a chance to kill them needlessly.”
“Why change the medication?” Doflamingo asked, approaching the bed to stare at you intently. You didn’t seem worse . Were they trying something stronger to get the results he wanted? Or was there something they were withholding from him? Was that why you told them to leave?
“According to them I’m no longer ‘critical’ and now they need to make something less intensive. It’ll continue to fight the infection but it won’t leave me feeling like I’m in a coma all the time.”
“I suppose I can allow that explanation.” Doflamingo muttered, still not happy that his doctors didn’t tell him themselves before fleeing, though with the mood he was in there was a big chance he would have killed one of them before they could have told him everything. Still his mind fell to the one question you hadn’t answered. “And your food? What’s your excuse for not eating?”
“They were fussing over me so much with their tests and checks I didn’t get the chance.” You explained before taking another slow sip of the tea. You eyed the bowl of untouched food and pulled a face. “The sooner I’m recovered the better, the repetition is driving me insane.”
“You’re not really in a position to be picky.” Doflamingo chuckled, perching himself on the edge of your bed. “Strict diet until the doctors say otherwise.”
“Oh so now you want to listen to them?” You asked dryly, watching him get comfortable and start to relax. “They’ve been terrified for the last few days, some wanting to draw straws to see who will be treating me when you’re awake.”
“Fear’s a good motivator in my experience.” Doflamingo shrugged unapologetically and uncaring about the visible panic he brought out in his servants and subordinates. His methods always yielded results, at least most of the time it did. You were the anomaly that he chose not to count.
Out of habit at this point he pulled the tray closer and lifted the bowl into his hand, offering the spoonful of uninteresting purée towards you. Thankfully after that first time you never insisted he say ‘please’ to comply. Today though you regarded him silently for a moment before allowing him to feed you. You ate in silence before finally speaking what was on your mind. “Why doesn’t it bother you? Feeding me?”
“Should it?”
“I know I can’t get you infected but the whole sick person thing seems like something you’d avoid where possible.” You explained. You recalled Doflamingo’s initial declarations that he was ensuring you recovered because he wasn’t letting an illness kill you instead of him but still some things didn’t add up. “In the beginning you could have used your strings to feed me and when I stopped being in constant pain you could have ordered a servant to take over. Doesn’t seem in line with your kingly reputation.”
“Probably not but no one would breathe a word about it so my reputation is safe.” Doflamingo conceded before grinning broadly at you. “Besides who would even believe them I’d do something so kind?”
“That’s them though, this is me asking.” You pressed. “Strangely it feels like you’ve done this before.”
“A little. There wasn’t much food and they didn’t live long after getting ill.” Doflamingo’s answer was low, oddly soft. It was a tone you’d never heard from him before and one you’d really never expected to experience from him. Whoever it was he was talking about, you could tell it was a heavy loss for him to speak of.
You could only guess it was a relative, as much as he claimed those in his inner circle were part of his family, you knew they were a chosen family and not connected to him by sharing the same blood. The man was still very much a mystery to you and as curious as you were, to want to get to know him more would be only a complication down the line. Instead you decided to change the conversation after you took the last spoonful of food. “So strict diet aside, when can I leave this room?”
“Not until you’re better.” Doflamingo’s answer was simple as to be expected but not what you wanted to hear and you didn’t hide your disappointment or annoyance. You had been confined to your room the entire time you were ill and you only got to the bathroom and bathed with the help of a servant because your body was so weak to move. It was a relief that the doctors knew what they were doing because if they hadn’t given you the medication to lessen your pain you would have relied on Doflamingo for that aspect and neither of you were in anyway wanting to broach that level of reliance or intimacy with each other. Needing to sleep in his arms had been more than enough for you both. “Stop pulling that face, can’t risk you managing to hurt yourself and you know it.”
“I’m bored. Y’know for a moment I actually missed Diamanté and Trebol?” You grumbled, narrowing your eyes when Doflamingo began to laugh just as the door opened and the third doctor of the day cautiously entered. You watched as their eyes flickered from you to Doflamingo, nervously trying to assess the mood in the room and prepare for what they expected to happen. They seemed to relax slightly and came closer, your gaze falling to the vial of new medication in his hand. “So what can I expect with this one?”
“You’ll have to take it three times a day. You won’t be as lethargic but it will take a lot of time for your previous energy levels to return. We’re hopeful that after another week we can begin to reduce the treatment again. You’ve been responding so well, it’s a good sign.”
You weren’t exactly in the mood to share their overall optimism. You hadn’t lied when you told Doflamingo that you were bored. You hated being sick at the best of times but to suffer through an infection like this, stuck in your room and only able to sleep or eat, it was irritating and now that you were changing your medication that meant less sleeping and more time just being stuck in your bed. Already you weren’t looking forward to the next few days. With a click of your tongue you took the opened vial offered to you and threw it back in one go, pulling a face at the strange taste. Seeing you take the medicine seemed to release the final thread of tension in Doflamingo’s body and his grin spread into place. As you shifted to get comfy against the pillows you scowled out of the corner of your eye. At least one of you was happy.
————
Doflamingo had allowed his work to pile up while you were ill. Calls from the different corrupt leaders he was supplying weapons to had gone unreturned, shipping manifests from the different warehouses and docks notifying him of his share of profits and resources had piled up and gone unchecked. He was sure there were some Marine calls he’d missed but he couldn’t bring himself to care about whatever it was they wanted. He’d done his part by showing up to their nonsense meeting. Sitting back in his office chair he put down a profit report from one of the many businesses he’d placed an investment in and kicked his feet up onto the desk, feeling his eyes grow heavy under his glasses.
It had been a long time since he’d dreamt of the horrid little shack but he knew it instantly. Looking around at the sound of tiny but devastated sobs he tensed to see his little brother clinging to his younger self in the next room, both aspects of his memory and imagination unaware of his presence. Not that he was even paying them much attention, every part of his attention was solely on the bed in the middle of the room.
As much as he wanted to turn away and leave the sorry excuse of a home, as much as he wanted to force himself to wake, it wasn’t in his power. Instead his heavy limbs brought him into the room and he felt slight relief that his subconscious didn’t show his father in this version. His relief didn’t last long though because already he was at the bedside, staring down at the outline of the body completely hidden by the dirty, frayed sheet. Roughly he grabbed a fistful of the fabric and ripped it away, freezing to see it wasn’t his mother under the covering but you.
With a jolt Doflamingo woke, staring at the ceiling and working on keeping his breathing even and forcing himself to ignore the tremor in his hands. Pushing away from the desk he rose and made his way to your room. For yet another instance since you fell ill he found himself seeking you out in the middle of the night, at least this time he was fully conscious of it. His plan was simple, go in check on you, leave.
Doflamingo opened the door only to stop to see you already sitting up in the bed with your gun pointed at him. When you saw who it was you sighed and put the weapon back into the drawer of your bedside table. At least this helped shake him of the dream he had but now he was more confused than ever about what you were doing. Your fever had broken already so you no longer had any moments of delirium and even when you did, you’d never tried to reach for your weapon. “Why aren’t you asleep?”
“I’ve slept enough, don’t you think?” You asked staring at him carefully. “What’s wrong?”
“What makes you think something’s wrong?”
“Deflecting question for one thing.” You stated with a frown. “You haven’t stayed to help me sleep since the medicine first started taking effect so it can’t be for that. You look tense…your hand’s twitching.”
“You know part of me liked it better when you were too ill to notice things.” Doflamingo muttered, staying close to the wall. “I’m fine, nothing to worry about. Now are you going to tell me about the gun?”
“I thought you were the doctors and I’ve reached my limit of their fussing and increased checks for one day.” You explained in frustration. You weren’t really going to shoot them but you had been so frustrated that the temptation to threaten them had reached the point you’d gotten to. Now that you’d had the moment to reflect on it thanks to Doflamingo’s arrival you let out a sigh. “I know they’re doing their job but enough is enough at least until tomorrow.”
“Any reason for the increased fussing?”
“They claim they’re ensuring the new medication isn’t bringing a risk of unforeseen side effects but the real reason is you. They’re checking for the smallest improvement so you don’t kill them.” You said only to glare when he smirked at that. “Don’t get smug, it doesn’t suit you. So are you staying or going?”
“Oh? If that’s your way of asking nicely you can do better than that.” He teased, grin returning in full force when you let out a huff and rolled your eyes. “You do like to cling to me, it’s adorable.”
“Not as adorable as you oh so sweetly saying ‘please’ Doffy.” Your retort was quick but still not as sharp as you usually could muster. You were glad you could see the results of the treatment but it still hadn’t brought you back to your full strength.
“You’ve been calling me that more often, did you notice?” Doflamingo observed, watching your eyes narrow slightly.
“Because I’ve been too drained to waste energy on your needlessly long name, Doflamingo.” You explained with a sweet smile before deciding that it was time to get back into the old routine of going against him, illness be damned. Pulling back the covers you rose out of bed, still feeling the heaviness in your limbs but you were determined and defiant now. By the time you’d walked the length of the bed Doflamingo was already in front of you, leaning against the bedpost and stopping you from stepping any further. Adopting your most casual expression you looked up at him. “Yes?”
“Get back into bed.”
“I don’t want to.”
“I don’t care what you want.” Doflamingo told you evenly. “Either get back into bed or I’ll put you back.”
“Do it and I’ll get back out. Like I told you earlier, I’m bored and tired of staying in bed.” You ground out in annoyance. “I don’t care where I go I just need to get out of here for a little while. A little bit of walking isn’t going to kill me.”
“We’ll talk about it in the morning with the doctors. Get back in bed.”
“No we won’t because your doctors will be too scared and just go along with whatever you want. I’ll go back to bed when I’m ready.” You argued and stepped around him with your sights set firmly on your door. Even if you got as far as the hall it would have been enough to count as a change of scenery and proof you still had some control over your actions now that you were feeling somewhat better.
“You’re so fucking difficult.” You rolled your eyes at the Warlord’s comment from behind you only for a yelp to break from your lips when you were abruptly lifted off of your feet when you were about to grab the doorhandles and thrown over Doflamingo’s shoulder. “You have five minutes but you aren’t walking, pick where to go.”
“Kitchen.” Your answer came without hesitation. Secretly you were relieved to be lifted, the shake in your limbs becoming hard to ignore but you weren’t going to let the moment of Doflamingo letting you leave the room go to waste. You said nothing as you were carried through the corridors and into the darkened kitchens.
After the lights flicked on you were set on the counter you let out a long satisfied smile, stretching out your arms and legs. Reaching over you lifted the domed lid covering what remained of one of the many cakes and desserts prepared for the family’s dinner that night and pulled it closer. You looked up when Doflamingo stopped beside you, offering a fork for you to take while he used the second in his hand to take a forkful of the cake you’d decided on. Wordlessly you took it and helped yourself to some for yourself, savouring the sweet and rich taste that flooded your mouth. The cooks in the palace were talented and make everything taste amazing. It was thanks to their skills that made being on the limited menu while ill bearable but this? Getting to eat something new again and eat it while you weren’t meant to make it taste even better, like it was something forbidden but so satisfying.
“Happy now?” Doflamingo asked after a few minutes of calm silence, setting his own fork aside and leaving the last few bites of cake for you to help yourself to.
“Yes, actually I am.” You smiled at him, your mood lifting for the first time in a long time. Taking the last bite you let out a content sigh and looked to Doflamingo. “So happy I could dance, but sadly I’m not allowed to walk.”
“Now you’ve got my attention, maybe save the dancing for when you’re fully recovered.” Doflamingo grinned, turning slightly to watch you smirk at him. “Now back to bed.”
“Fine, killjoy.” You grumbled, knowing you’d already had longer than the initial five minutes he’d promised you. Resigned to your fate you held out your arms to let him lift you only to scowl further when he stood in front of you and chuckled, lightly tapping your lower lip with his finger.
“Stop the pouting, you got what you wanted.” He reminded you with a grin, lifting you off the counter and taking you to your room.
When you neared your room you looked at Doflamingo. In spite of being annoyed you weren’t able to be out of your room for long you still appreciated the time you did get out. “Listen…Thank you, I mean it.” You began and thought back to how he’d unexpectedly came to your room that night. Something had been on his mind and given the earlier conversation you had a small inkling what it was. You don’t know why but you wanted to say something to help him. “I know it doesn’t need to be said but, whoever it was you lost. I’m not them.”
“Of course you’re not.” Doflamingo tensed slightly, his stride not breaking even as the image of you lying in place of his mother on her deathbed from his dream came back.
“I’ll get better and then you’ll get right back to finding a way to kill me, right?” You tried to stay casual about everything but the longer you stayed in Dressrosa and around Doflamingo, and now with how he was taking care of you from your infection it got harder to convince yourself that things were going to stay the same as they had when you first crossed paths with the man setting you down onto your bed.
“That’s the plan.” Doflamingo answered and it took everything in you to ignore how his hold on you tightened lightly while he also sounded like he was trying to convince himself of the same thing too. Saying nothing more you watched him turn and leave the room. When the door clicked shut you lay back with a heavy sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose. Why did you have to open your mouth?

Hi, I was wondering if you could do "I didn't know I needed this until you came into my life." with Zoro, please? I love him soooo much!!
. 𔘓 ؛ off from workouts nights

⇢ writing prompts
⇢ roronoa zoro x reader.
⇢ tw: fluffff so much fluff, english isn’t my first language.
⇢ summary: "i didn’t know i needed this until you came into my life." prompt with my love zoro
the night felt different, softer, quieter, and far more serene than usual.
the hum of the ship gently rocked against the endless stretch of sea, and the stars dotted the night sky, glinting like scattered diamonds. it wasn’t often zoro let himself break from his rigid schedule, but tonight was one of those rare exceptions.
his swords rested quietly in their sheaths, untouched for hours now. instead of the harsh grind of his usual training, the night had led him here, tucked comfortably beneath warm blankets, with you nestled against him.
he shifted slightly, finding the perfect position as his body relaxed into the mattress.
your head rested lightly on his shoulder, your fingers idly tracing small patterns along the edge of his scarred chest.
the simple comfort of your touch sent waves of ease washing over him, calming nerves usually taut from relentless effort and focus. zoro had never considered himself the kind of man who needed softness or quiet to be complete, but being here with you made him realize that maybe he’d been wrong.
you let out a content sigh, your warmth radiating against him.
“you comfortable?” you murmured softly, your voice low and sweet in the stillness of the night.
he hummed in response, pulling you just a little closer.
yeah,” he said simply, though the weight behind that single word carried so much more. comfortable wasn’t quite the right term, it was deeper than that.
there was something grounding, something utterly complete about having you here beside him, a kind of peace he hadn’t known he needed until it was already filling the cracks he’d ignored for so long.
your fingers stilled for a moment as you tilted your head up to look at him. the moonlight streaming in through the window highlighted the relaxed set of his features, his usual scowl softened, his lips just barely curved into what could almost be a smile.
“you seem more at ease than usual,” you observed quietly.
he exhaled slowly, a sound of agreement mixed with thought.
“it’s weird,” he admitted, his voice a low rumble.
“i didn’t think… i didn’t know i needed this. not until you came into my life” he mumbled.
the confession hung in the air between you, raw , honest.
zoro wasn’t one for elaborate words, nor did he hand out pieces of his heart easily. but when he spoke, there was always weight behind it, truth that cut through everything else. you knew how much this meant coming from him.
your heart softened, and a gentle smile tugged at your lips.
“i’m glad i could be here for you,” you whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his shoulder. “you deserve moments like this, you know? time to just breathe.”
his arm tightened around you, his hand coming up to brush lightly against your arm.
“don’t really know what i did to deserve you,” he murmured, almost to himself. “but i’m not letting go.”
“good,” you replied, your voice full of warmth. “because you’re stuck with me now.”
“not complaining” he chuckled lowly, the sound rare and genuine.
the room fell into a peaceful silence, the only sounds the gentle sway of the ship and your synchronized breathing.
zoro closed his eyes, letting himself sink fully into the comfort of the moment, his body, and mind at rest in a way they hadn’t been in years. this was a different kind of strength.
being with you, trusting in this quiet bond that wrapped around his heart.
“you know,” you teased gently after a moment, “this could be a regular thing. you don’t always have to push yourself so hard.”
“we’ll see,” he smirked, his usual stubbornness peeking through. but there was a softness there too, a willingness to consider it, even if just for you.
you smiled, knowing change might come slowly, but it would come. because even though zoro was strong enough to carry the weight of the world on his back, he was learning that sharing that weight with you made the load easier to bear.
and that, perhaps, was the greatest strength of all.

SOMETHING SWEET | Sanji Vinsmoke
synopsis: You're sanji's little taste tester.
Content: Fluff
The Thousand Sunny rocked gently with the rhythm of the waves, the sound a soothing lullaby that carried through the stillness of the night. Outside, the moon cast its silver glow over the ship, its light filtering through the portholes and spilling faint patterns onto the wooden floors. The occasional creak of the ship and the distant crash of waves were the only sounds accompanying the serene quiet.
Your eyes fluttered open, staring into the ceiling above. Sleep hadn’t lasted long—again. You sighed softly, rolling onto your side. The jacket draped over the back of the chair caught your eye, and with a resigned groan, you swung your legs over the bed.
Pulling the jacket on over your sleepwear, you stepped out into the dimly lit hallway. The ship was hushed, save for the faint sound of someone snoring a few doors down. You rubbed your arms, the night air cool against your skin as you padded toward a familiar glow at the end of the hall.
The kitchen light spilled out, warm and inviting, and the scent of something delicious drifted into the corridor. You smiled to yourself—it had become a tradition by now.
Pushing the door open, you leaned against the doorway and crossed your arms. “Burning the midnight oil again, Sanji?”
Sanji glanced over his shoulder, a grin already tugging at his lips. “And here I thought I might get some peace tonight.” He turned back to his work, the rhythmic sound of his knife slicing through something soft filling the space. “What’s the excuse this time, sweetheart?”
“I could ask you the same thing,” you shot back, stepping into the room.
He chuckled, his voice low and warm. “Fair enough. But at least I’m being productive. You, on the other hand—what, couldn’t resist my cooking?”
You plopped onto the counter with an exaggerated sigh. “Oh, absolutely. The smell dragged me out of bed by force. You should be ashamed, really.”
Sanji straightened, wiping his hands on a towel as he turned to face you. “Ashamed?” he repeated, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “Darling, I’d say that’s a job well done.”
“Cocky as ever,” you teased, leaning back on your palms.
“And yet, you keep showing up,” he quipped, tossing the towel onto the counter before reaching for a mixing bowl.
“Someone has to keep you in check.”
He hummed thoughtfully, cracking an egg into the bowl with one hand. “Or maybe you just can’t stay away from me.”
The heat rose to your cheeks, but you rolled your eyes. “Maybe I just like the free snacks.”
Sanji laughed at that, his knife now working with quick, practiced movements. “Oh, is that all? Then how about you do your job, my little taste-tester, and tell me how these turned out?”
He handed you a warm cookie straight from the cooling rack. Your fingers brushed his as you took it, the touch lingering just long enough to make your heart skip a beat. You bit into the cookie, letting out a soft hum of approval as the flavors melted on your tongue.
“Well?” he asked, leaning casually against the counter, his gaze never leaving you.
The cookie was warm in your hand, its golden surface still glistening faintly from the oven. You took a tentative bite, and your taste buds were immediately greeted with a perfect blend of softness and sweetness. The chocolate chips melted at every chew, coating your tongue in rich, velvety decadence. It was perfect—so perfect you had to fight the urge to close your eyes and sigh in delight.
But you wouldn’t let Sanji know that.
“It’s... okay, I guess,” you said nonchalantly, taking another bite to mask the way your lips wanted to curve into a satisfied smile.
Sanji’s mouth parted slightly in mock offense, his hand going to his chest as though you’d just delivered a mortal wound. “Just okay? My dear, do you realize how much love and skill went into that cookie?”
“Oh, I can taste the ego,” you teased, licking a crumb from your lip. “It’s overpowering.”
His eyes narrowed, a playful challenge dancing in them. “You wound me, love. But you’re still eating it, so I guess it can’t be that bad.”
You shrugged, holding the cookie up as if weighing your words. “Hmm, free food is free food. Maybe I’ll keep you around after all.”
Sanji chuckled, shaking his head as he leaned closer, his grin as sharp as ever. “Keep me around? Darling, you’re lucky I haven’t started charging you for my masterpieces.”
“Masterpieces, huh?” You took another slow bite, savoring it despite yourself. “Keep practicing, and you might get there someday.”
Sanji stepped back with a dramatic flourish, his voice rich with mock formality. “Thank you for your insight, your majesty. What would you like so that I can change your mind?” He gave a sweeping bow, his face barely holding back a smirk.
You leaned back against the counter, arms crossed, fighting to keep your own grin under control. “Well, your highness,” you replied with a smile, clearing your throat “perhaps a lemon pound cake that doesn’t make me question your cooking skills would do the trick.”
Sanji stood up straight, his eyes gleaming with challenge. “So it’s a challenge you want?” He winked at you, his tone a mix of flirty confidence and playful resolve. “I’ll show you a masterpiece, just wait.”
You watched him move across the kitchen, his movements swift and graceful as he gathered the ingredients with exaggerated care, like a chef preparing for a grand performance. Every step, every gesture, was deliberate, like he was proving a point. And even though you were playing along, you couldn’t help but notice the way he carried himself—so sure, so confident.
You took another bite of the cookie, savoring it once again, but this time, you let your smile slip through.

Which op yan do you think would be the most annoying texter in a modern au?? I think sanji would drive me insane, I know he'd be texting nonstop. I also think buggy would ask his romantic interest if they'd still love him as a worm. Many times.
Sanji would be so excessive. You have to put your phone on do not disturb just to have a moment's peace. It literally never ends.
Sanji: Good morning, my love! It's another beautiful day of being able to call you mine 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
*pic attached*
Sanji: Here's the breakfast I'm making you! I'll bring it over as soon as it's done 😋😘
-
*sends a pic of any two things next to each other*
Sanji: This is literally us 🥺
-
Sanji: I just wanted to say again how much I love you💞❤️💕💞💓🩷💕💞 (he says this even though he saw you in person three minutes ago and said the exact same thing then)
-
Sanji: Where did you go???? Are you mad at me??????? Have you been kidnapped?????????
Sanji: Oh wait never mind I see you now
Sanji: I'm calling your name why are you running the other way?
Buggy is someone who needs constant reassurance, and he uses having your phone number as a means to constantly get that from you. But like he's also very dramatic about it.
Buggy: do u hate me now? say it to my face at least
You: literally what are you talking about?
Buggy: I asked you a question and you ignored me!
You: I was gone for like 2 minutes????
Buggy: AND???? Why were you gone???
You: I was ordering some food for us but nvm I'm gonna go home and eat it all myself 😒
Buggy: ...
Buggy: I'm sorry please don't hate me for real now 🥺🥺🥺 I love you so much baby please don't leave me 😭😭😭
Zoro is on the opposite end of the spectrum because he doesn't text excessively, but you are lucky to get more than a one word response out of him. You could send him a several paragraph long text spilling your guts to him and all you'll get from him is a "k" or "alright" or "👍". If you send more than two texts in a row, he'll tell you to just call him if you're going to yap that much.
Luffy doesn't text, he sends voice memos. Not only does he send an absurd amount of them, but they're also all stupidly long because he gets distracted and rambles to his heart's content. What was supposed to be a simple voice memo asking if his jacket is at your place comes to you with a 31:46 time on it because he saw a cool looking beetle outside and just had to tell you about it in the memo. Half the time he forgets that he isn't actually on the phone with you and will ask a question several times before he remembers.
Doflamingo sends a lot of texts, but all of them are voice to text and are almost entirely unintelligible. The voice to text function wasn't designed to interpret his weird inflections and maniacal laughter. He also has a tendency to talk to other people in the middle of sending a text to you, so you have a whole ass random conversation smack in the middle of the text. He then has the audacity to have an attitude with you when you didn't catch the important thing he told you.
With Ace, you're going to feel like you're communicating via hieroglyphics because of how many of his messages to you are just memes/reaction images. He won't elaborate and lets you figure out what they mean. Did he just find that meme funny, or is there a hidden message in it? Who knows.
And then you have all of the old men (Sengoku, Garp, Whitebeard, etc) who can't text for shit and will send a series of unintelligible and confused texts before sending a very defeated "please call me"

part 3
i.
tears streamed down your face uncontrollably as you watched your parents haul the last of their supplies onto their small pirate ship. as the remaining few wooden crates and barrels on land dwindled, you found yourself reaching out your arms every time they walked by in order to pick up more supplies, only to brush past you again on the way to their ship.
when your mother stepped off the ship for the final time to pick up the last crate, you grabbed onto her coat and begged, “please, take me with you, mama!” your words were barely coherent from all the choking and sobbing but it was obvious to anyone watching what you were trying to say.
she crouched in front of you and patted your head, the warmth of her hand soothing your aching heart ever so slightly. you instinctively reached out your arms to wrap around her neck, the same way you always did whenever she was about to carry you home. instead of picking you up, though, your mother pried your hands away.
“you’re a good girl, aren’t you, (Y/N)?” she cooed gently, a stark contrast to how firmly she gripped your two wrists in order to keep them a distance from her body.
you nodded, fresh hot tears still pouring down your cheeks.
“well, good girls aren’t selfish.” your mother smiled though it didn’t reach her eyes. “don’t you want mama and papa to be happy? hmm?”
you nodded again. you did want them to be happy but why couldn’t they be happy with you? you opened your mouth to ask but something deep in your heart stopped the words from coming out.
“good girl,” she said as she patted your head one last time. “mama and papa will be so happy once we’re out on the sea as long as you keep being good. if you’re really good, we might even come back to take you with us.”
“promise?” you whispered, holding out your pinky finger. your mother smiled and hooked it with her own.
“promise.”
for weeks you stayed right where they left you on the docks, your eyes glued to where the sky met the sea–the exact spot their ship disappeared from view.
ii.
Ace begs you to talk to him as he relentlessly trails behind you, leaving the bar and all thoughts of it behind him. his heart ramming against his ribcage as his thoughts on why you’re suddenly so cold run wild.
“say something, (Y/N)!” his voice cracks ever so slightly. “i just don’t understand–” he tries once more to grab ahold of your arm but you shrug him away the moment you feel his fingertips brush against your skin. “did i do something wrong? did i say something?”
the more he asks, the more you refuse to turn around to look at him. your heart aches from how distraught he sounds and the hurt does nothing but make fresh, hot tears well up in your eyes. you don’t understand why he’s so determined to follow you all this way and yet you can’t bring yourself to ask him why.
arriving at your private cabin aboard the Moby Dick, you try your best to enter whilst keeping Ace outside but he’s faster and stronger and manages to squeeze his way in. he shuts your door behind him and leans against it with his arms crossed.
“are you gonna keep me prisoner, or?” you ask, trying your best to sound as unbothered as possible in hopes that you can conceal the tears on your face. alas, the cloudless night sky allows for the moon to cast its light through your window, illuminating your room enough for both of you to see each other clearly.
Ace stands there silently with his big wet brown eyes staring straight into yours. what’s normally a sight you welcome with open arms is now your greatest source of misery as it dawns on you that he probably will just keep staring at you until you give in.
for a few minutes, your room is completely silent except for the occasional splashing of waves. looking at him, you think about how the girls at the bar are probably still waiting for him and yet here you are, keeping him away from having fun. he should be celebrating with the others and meeting new people, instead he’s here with you.
how selfish.
Ace catches the way your shoulders tense up and how your eyebrows furrow even deeper than before. he can tell you’re thinking of something and he can’t help but wonder why you’re keeping it from him. you’ve never kept secrets from each other before, even as kids.
do you hate me?
he swallows thickly as his own eyes prickle with tears.
did you finally realise i’m just not worth your time? that i’m just the bastard son of the world’s worst criminal with nothing to offer you? it took you long enough, huh?
“did i do something wrong? please, you have to tell me so i know how to fix it,” Ace pleads, against his better judgement. “ i can’t… you can’t hate me, too. please, (Y/N).” the words spill out faster than he can even think to stop them.
never in his life as Ace begged so openly to be loved–and he never thought he’d want to ever do so, either–but he can’t bear the thought of you despising him like the rest of the world does. it might actually kill him.
“why do you care so much about what i think?” you snap back, tone coming across much harsher than you’d like. “why did you even come after me? you should be back in the bar! don’t you know there are people waiting for you? just go already!” you close the distance between you and him and grab his shoulders in an attempt to pry him away from the door so that he can finally get out and let you sulk alone in peace.
as expected, though, he doesn’t budge.
“do you not… want me anymore?” Ace asks in a voice so small you nearly miss it. the tears that have been holding on so diligently finally break free and streak down his freckled face as his expression contorts into the saddest one you’ve ever seen on his face.
now i’ve made you cry. i’m such a terrible person, aren’t i?
your heart twists painfully in your chest as you choke back your own tears. you so badly want to answer him truthfully, to let him know he’s all you’ve ever wanted but you can’t bring yourself to hold him back. what can you possibly offer that he can’t find from someone else who can offer him even more?
“i…” you have to force the words out, your throat far too constricted from all your crying. “i’ll always want you, Ace,” you finally admit selfishly, unable to stop once you’ve started. “i treasure every moment we spend together.” you give him a wobbly, sad smile. “but i think i’m getting too used to it and i don’t know how i’ll cope when you eventually find someone better.”
Ace stares at you silently as what feels like hours pass by.
it takes a while for the realisation that he hadn’t done anything to drive you away to dawn on him; that you actually want him as much as he wants you. never before has he related so strongly to words said by another and yet here you stand in front of him, having just said exactly how he feels about you. he feels his pounding heart race even faster than before, beating so quickly it almost hurts–except he welcomes it with open arms this time.
unbeknownst to him, you mistake his silence.
this is it, isn’t it? i’ve said it out loud so you realise it, too, now.
but before you can try to convince him to leave your room again, Ace drops to his knees right in front of you, his eyes staring right into yours the entire time. he reaches out to take your hands in his, cupping your smaller hands in between his warm palms as he brings them to his lips. his hands begin to sweat and shake, and his kiss lingers longer than it should have, but he needs to buy a bit more time to prepare what he so desperately has to say to you.
“i know should’ve asked you this the moment we reunited but i didn’t so i’m asking you now.” Ace takes a deep breath. “marr- date me. i-i mean, be my girlfriend, please? be mine.” he pulls your hands apart to gently bring them to his face so that your palms cup his cheeks. his skin feels extra warm but you can’t tell if it’s from his Devil Fruit or from how hard he’s blushing right now.
the heaviness in your chest disappears in the blink of an eye as you recall a memory from your childhood you thought you’d long forgotten.
“we can date first. then i’ll ask you to marry me. deal?”
“deal… but what if…”
“if?” Ace tilted his head a little.
“what if you find someone else you want to marry?” you played with the hem of your pajamas, making sure not to make eye contact.
“don’t be stupid. i…” Ace coughed, unintentionally bringing your attention back to his face. his cheeks and ears were nearly as red as the shirt he wore. “... i’ll always want you.”
you begin to sob again, even harder this time, and Ace nearly has a conniption until he notices the wide smile spreading across your face. he feels his own lips tug into a grin as he swallows nervously. still cupping his face in between your hands, you run your thumbs across his cheeks, wiping away the dried salty tears from before.
is it really okay for me to be selfish?
you can’t help but wonder for a split second; however, your worries are washed away when you see how lovingly Ace gazes up at you as he remains kneeling on the floor of your room. if you didn’t know any better, you might think he’s looking at the most valuable treasure the sea has to offer.
“okay,” you say with a nod, your smile growing impossibly wider when his eyes practically shine in response, “i’d love to be yours.”
with a swiftness only a man like him can possess, Ace gets off the floor and scoops you into his arms, eliciting a surprised yelp from your lips. you wrap your own arms around his neck instinctively, not wanting to fall–as if he’d ever let that happen–but as soon as you’re lifted off the ground, you find yourself being tossed onto your bed with Ace following shortly after.
you giggle as he crawls over you, trapping your head between his toned forearms as he props himself up by his elbows. the sweet sound stirs something in his poor, overworked heart and it compels him to lean closer. the tip of his nose brushes lightly against yours but Ace doesn’t move any further, waiting for you to close the gap.
rewrapping your arms around his neck, you pull him closer until your lips slot against his, and a warmth you’ve never felt before blooms from your mouth and spreads throughout your entire body. your first kiss is clumsy and a little bit awkward but he tastes and smells so sweet you never want this moment to end. evidently feeling the same way, Ace licks at your lips greedily, coaxing your mouth open as he deepens the kiss, and moaning softly when your tongue clashes with his.
more. more. more.
Ace wants everything you’re willing to offer him and in return he will give you all of him and then some. you could ask him for the sun itself and he’ll find a way to give it to you or die trying.
when you eventually part ways for air, he’s quick to make himself comfortable on top of you. his chest rests against yours as he nuzzles his face into the crook of your neck, brushing his bruised lips against the scar on your collarbone. his hands wander the expanse of your arms and torso before making their way under your shirt and staying there; his warm palms resting against your bare skin. in return, you hug him close to you and bury your face in his messy, wavy hair. you smile and press a kiss to the crown of his head when you realise he smells like your shampoo.
no more words are exchanged throughout the night as you lay in peaceful silence entangled with one another. before you know it, you’re lulled to sleep by the sound of Ace’s soft snoring.

they make you cry
featuring - Zoro x F!Reader, Ace x F!Reader, Kaku x F!Reader, Law x F!Reader, Luffy x F!Reader, Sanji x F!Reader, Usopp x F!Reader
summary - sometimes you just can't handle the things they say/do
warnings - angst, fluff, hurt/comfort
taglist - @kabloswrld
a/n - this took forever to write, and I'm sorry! had to fight my writer's block real hard to get this out ☠️ some of them seem rushed and im sorry about that too!
ZORO
Zoro could be mean, you knew this when you started dating him. He didn't mince his words, nor did he sugarcoat anything. Especially when he was angry, that's when he could be the cruelest. You just never expected to be on the receiving end of that cruelty.
You were just trying to help, honestly. You thought it might be a nice gesture if you wiped his swords clean for him while he napped, and you thought he'd appreciate it. But the moment you dropped them while putting them back and woke him up, it was like something had possessed him.
"What the hell are you doing?" He demanded, sitting up and looking at you, his eyes hard.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to clean them for you," you tried explaining yourself, hoping he wouldn't be too angry. Hoping he would calm down and stop looking at you like that.
"Why would you think that?" He scoffed. "I clean them myself, there's no need for you to do it. There's no need for you touch them at all, actually."
"I'm sorry," you apologised again, shrinking away and feeling hurt by his tone already.
"Just don't do it again," he snapped, "You don't know anything about swords. It wouldn't be such a problem if you were more like me and less like you."
"Less like me?" The tears filled your eyes before you could stop them. "What does that mean?"
"Nothing, just go away and let me nap."
And go away you did. You left his room with your eyes almost overflowing, hand covering your mouth to stifle the sob that was about to come out. You didn't understand what brought that on, why he had been so mean to you.
"(Name), wait-"
You ran off the moment his door opened again, trying to put as much distance between him and yourself as possible. You were hurt, so incredibly hurt, that you barely made it to your room before you broke down in tears, burying your face in your hands. You tried to calm down, you did, but his unprovoked verbal attack struck you right where it hurt the most, your heart. You didn't understand what he meant by "less like you", and you didn't think you wanted to. It was insult enough already.
A knock on your door startled you, and you quickly wiped your face to try and get rid of the tears but your eyes were still red and puffy. Which was immediately noticed by the swordsman when you opened the door, and he frowned.
"Were you crying?"
"What do you want?" You asked him, sniffing. "Did you come to insult me more? Maybe tell me again to stay away from your precious swords? Save it."
"I'm sorry," he interjected, taking you by surprise. He shifted nervously, not really knowing how to apologise but wanting to try because you meant more to him than he could ever say and he hated that he'd hurt you.
"Is that it?" You scoffed, about to close the door.
"No, no wait!" He stopped you, swallowing thickly and looking at the floor. "You know I'm not good with apologies. But I mean it when I say I'm sorry for what I said. You were just trying to do something nice for me and I snapped at you because I was in a mood. The stupid cook annoyed me earlier and I...didn't mean to take it out on you."
You crossed your arms, trying to look mad but you only looked sad and it tugged at Zoro's heartstrings, "Okay."
His expression softened, and when you allowed him he pulled you into his arms and hugged you, trying to show how sorry he was through his actions since he couldn't say it. He rubbed your back soothingly, pressing a gentle and apologetic kiss to the top of your head.
"But if you speak to me like that again, I'm throwing your swords into the ocean."
He chuckled, "Deal."
He spent the next few days making it up to you in various ways, either buying you a special gift from any island you stopped by, or hugging/cuddling you a little longer than usual, or teaching you some moves with his swords to prove he trusted you with them. Eventually, when his overbearing affection started worrying the crew, you had to forgive him.
ACE
The crew was celebrating a big win. Stopping by a nearby island, majority of the crewmembers could be found in bars and taverns, drinking their weight in alcohol. You were amongst them, not drinking as much but joining the merriment regardless. You smiled at the antics of your crewmates, who were trying to drunkenly flirt with woman around the room.
Your smile vanished the moment your eyes settled on your boyfriend, who was busy entertaining a crowd of younger women with the tale of your victory.
Now normally that isn't a cause for upset with you, but he tended to get a little overfriendly and even though you've spoken to him about it many, many times, he hasn't made an effort to stop his flirting - even if he didn't see it as flirting, those women certainly did. And that was the problem, he always let them think that and allowed them to get handsy with him.
You rolled your eyes, downing your drink so you could get out of here. When you lowered your pint again, the sight of one of their hands on his arm made you sick. Usually you would get angry and storm over there and break up the party, but today the sight brought tears to your eyes. It hurt you that he always did this, even when you'd asked him not to.
"(Name), where you going?" One of your crewmates asked you when they noticed you getting up. "It's still early!"
You forced a smile, trying to hide your glassy eyes, "I, uh-"
"(Name)!" Ace called you cheerfully, waving you over, "Come here!"
You frowned, then shook your head before turning and leaving the bar, letting the tears fall now that you were out of sight from the rest of the crew. Your vision blurred on the way back to the ship, but you somehow managed to get there without hurting yourself and broke down into quiet sobs as you sat on your bed and buried your face in your hands.
Sometimes it felt like you weren't enough for him, whether it was physically or emotionally. He could make you feel like the worst lover sometimes, like you couldn't give him what he wanted, even if he didn't mean to. You knew he had commitment issues, but you thought your relationship was getting more serious at this point.
"(Name)!" Ace burst into the room, looking worried. "Hey, why did you leave?"
You didn't answer, turning away from him and curling up into a foetal position facing the wall your bed was placed against. You couldn't look at him right now, not when the tears wouldn't stop.
"Baby?" He called again, the bed dipping beside you to indicate that he had sat down. "I know you're not asleep."
He reached out and gently touched your shoulder, urging you to turn around and face him. You sighed and shifted around, looking at him with a tear-stained face. His eyes instantly went wide and he flew into a panic.
"What happened? Did someone do something to you?"
"Ugh, stop it," you groaned, sitting up. "Don't pretend to care about me when you constantly do what I tell you hurts my feelings." Just mentioning it again brought the tears back, and you cursed.
He frowned when you said this, "But I wasn't flirting with them."
You gave him an exasperated look, "Do you ever realise that they consider it flirting? That they try to seduce you with all their little touches and stupid flirty smiles? No, you don't." You hastily wiped your eyes, now getting angry.
"I'm sorry-"
"No, Ace. You do this all the time. And it really, really hurts."
His expression softened, and he grabbed you and pulled you onto his lap with ease. No matter how mad you were at him, your body never fought his touch or embrace.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled into your hair. "I didn't realise they were trying to do that. I was so caught up in telling the story, especially the part where you took out all of those pirates, that I didn't see they weren't really interested. I'm sorry I'm so stupid."
The sincerity in his voice eased your mood, and you slowly stopped crying and pulled away to look at him, "Next time just ask me to come sit with you."
"I'll do better than that baby, I'll put you on my lap."
"You know that doesn't end well."
"On the contrary-"
You sighed and shook your head, unable to help the smile that formed on your lips. He really was an idiot, but he was your idiot and even if he did stupid things a lot of the time, you loved him very much.
KAKU
You and Kaku hardly ever fought, because he was a very patient and very reasonable man. He never gave you any reason to be upset with him, because while he was a ruthless assassin, to you he was an absolute sweetheart. The only problem was that he sometimes left for long missions, and you were left worrying about him at home and not knowing what was going on because he was deep undercover that he couldn't even contact you.
Like now, where he was working undercover as a foreman in Water 7. You had asked him once again if you could come with, seeing as neither of you knew how long he'd be away this time. But he refused, gently reminding you that he didn't want to put you in any danger and that your house - so far off the grid absolutely no one knew about it - was the safest place for you. You had no other option but to agree.
After many, many months spent worrying about him and struggling to sleep not knowing what's going on, your boyfriend stumbled in through the front door one night absolutely destroyed. You'd come down with one of his swords in hand - one that he kept around the house for you - only to stop dead at the sight of Kaku standing there. Actually, standing was generous. He was barely keeping himself off the ground, tall frame hunched over and trembling.
"Oh my god, Kaku!" You dropped the blade and rushed to his side, laying one of his arms around your shoulders so you could at least help him to the couch. "What the hell happened?"
"It's a long story," he groaned, laying his head over the back of the couch and closing his eyes. "Short version - the Straw Hats."
You frowned at his brief response, going to fetch your first aid kit - you'd learned after the first few times he came home that you'd need one - and bringing it back to him.
"I think I deserve an explanation," you pressed, sitting beside him and starting to tend to his more obvious wounds. "You owe me that much."
"I don't want to talk about it," he grumbled. "I'm sorry."
You didn't respond, and he cracked an eye open to see why. When he noticed how your eyes had become glassy and your bottom lip was trembling but you were biting it hard to stop it, his expression softened.
"Oh, honey."
He gently took the first aid from you and set it aside before bringing you into his arms, wrapping them around you securely. He pressed gentle kisses to the top of your head, ignoring the pain as he held you against his chest.
"I'm sorry."
"This is the worst I've ever seen you," you managed to get out, your voice small and hurt. "I had no contact with you for the longest time since you started working for them, and then you come back looking like this..." You couldn't help it, the tears just kept falling no matter how hard you tried to stop them.
He held you tighter, then moved one hand up to wipe your tears away, "But I came back, didn't I? I'm here."
You knew he was trying to reassure you, but it was difficult to be reassured when he constantly did this to you. You looked at him sceptically.
"Why would I ever risk dying?" He questioned softly, cupping your cheek in his large hand. "I have you to come home to, I don't put myself in a situation I don't think I can come out of." He kissed the tip of your nose, to make you smile like it always did. "Besides, did you ever think that maybe I like having you play nurse for me?"
You managed a small smile, warmed by his words, "Oh you do, huh?"
"Mhm."
"I guess I can forgive you. On one condition."
"Anything, honey."
"I'm coming with you on your next assignment."
"...I don't have a choice, do I?"
"Nope."
He sighed, but planted a loving kiss on your forehead, "If it will ease your mind, then okay. But you have to let me make sure your cover is safe too."
"Deal."
LAW
Law was a very complicated man, with a lot of baggage and trauma he liked to keep away from everyone else. He was reclusive, and he never quite expressed his emotions as healthily as he should. Most days you did your best to understand, to step back and be the more rational one. But sometimes his actions don't make sense, and he ends up hurting you a lot more than he thinks - or notices.
Take the last few days, for example. You two had grown quite close over the course of your relationship and he was now quite comfortable with you and showing you affection - although still privately. But ever since you'd met the Straw Hat crew and he'd been introduced to their smartest member, Robin, he'd been a lot more distant and a lot less affectionate. Like he was beginning to forget you existed.
You started to feel insecure about not being as intelligent as her and not having anything in common with your boyfriend. You'd never liked books, they paled in comparison to the adventures you embarked on on a daily basis. But now it had come back to haunt you, and in the worst way possible.
"Law, do you want to-"
"Not now, (Name)-ya," he didn't even look up from his work. "I'm just finishing some notes on something that Robin asked for."
"Oh, okay. Let me know when you're-"
"I will be heading to their ship shortly, she has a collection of books I would like to study."
"...Right. Okay."
You blinked back tears, knowing he would just get irritated with your emotional display. Turning away from him, you left the room to go get some air and maybe feel sorry for yourself. It did hurt, him immediately dismissing you for another woman, even if it wasn't romantic. He was spending less time with you, and more time with her.
"(Name)!"
Your face lit up, thinking Law had finally come to his senses. But when you turned around, you saw him making his way to the Thousand Sunny while Bepo was the one who had called out to you. And then you couldn't hold it back anymore; you burst into tears.
You usually didn't cry like this. You were good at keeping your emotions in check. It was a side-effect of being around the stoic captain so much - you'd learned how to control your own emotions. But right now, it was too much to bear and your insecurities and fears came crashing down around you, drowning you in sorrow.
"What's wrong??" Bepo asked worriedly, immediately pulling you into a hug. "Did something happen?"
"No," you hiccupped, "I mean, yes, but it doesn't matter."
Your eyes drifted to the deck of the Sunny, where Law was engaged in what looked like a meaningful conversation with the female devil fruit user. Sighing, you tried your best to wipe your eyes and gently pushed Bepo away.
"I'm okay, I just...I need to be alone."
As you walked off, Bepo followed your gaze and spotted the issue. He frowned, having also noticed that his captain had recently been preferring Robin's company over his own girlfriend.
"Captain!" The bear called, rushing over to Law and Robin.
"Not now, Bepo," Law dismissed him, returning his attention to the raven-haired woman.
"But something is wrong with (Name)!" Bepo protested, whoch was a half-lie, half-truth. There was something wrong, but it wasn't with you. He just knew Law wouldn't follow him back otherwise.
"What?" Law instantly felt worry start to fill him. "Where is she?"
"I don't know, I saw her just now, crying, and then she ran off."
Law frowned. He didn't like it when you cried. Not because it was irritating, but because he always got this weird, ugly feeling when you did. You should never have to cry, you should never have to feel pain. Instantly, he goes back to the Polar Tang but not to look for you. He just simply uses his devil fruit to get you back into his room, and when he does he feels guilty by the sight.
Your eyes are red and puffy and you're sniffing like you're sick, but you're not sick. You're avoiding his gaze and casting your eyes downward to the floor, unable to look at him. And you're hugging yourself.
"(Name)-ya," he calls, hoping to get you to look at him.
"I thought you were with Robin," you tell him quietly, the hurt evident in your small, vulnerable voice.
He frowns, "I was, but-"
"Then we don't need to talk about anything," you cut him off. "I'm fine, go bacl to your conversation." You can't help being a bit snippy, tired of crying and even more so of being sad.
"You have been crying," he argued, "That is my concern."
"Oh really?" You suddenly glared at him. "I didn't think you'd notice. But you didn't, did you? Bepo had to tell you, because you were so engrossed in your new girlfriend!" You scoffed, rubbing your face and getting up. "Leave me alone."
"No," Law blocked your path out of the room. "I want to talk about this. And...I want to apologise for hurting you." He paused awkwardly, never good with apologies. "I didn't mean to spend so much time with her and neglect you, I promise. I just kept losing track of time, and I got a little bit eager that someone else was interested in some of the same things I am."
"Yeah, I know," you mumbled, "I'm sorry I'm not that person. I'm sorry I'm not your ideal girlfriend." The tears started falling again, and the ache returned to Law's chest.
"That's not what I meant," he moved closer, "You are perfect just the way you are. I don't want you to be like me, I don't think I could date someone like me. I often wonder how you do it."
Your eyes widen at the vulnerable revelation, and that leads you to start listening to his sincere words and slowly calm down.
"If I neglect you like that again, please just tell me," he pleaded, taking your hands in his. "Don't suffer in silence, I don't like seeing how it's affected you. And I don't like being the reason you cry. So please, just talk to me when I hurt you. Pull me away from any conversation, throw my books, whatever. Just make sure I listen."
"Okay," you slowly smiled, nodding. "But you can't yell at me if I do."
He sighed, but felt relieved that he was forgiven, "I won't."
"Great. Now you owe me a lot of cuddles and even more kisses," you pout. "And double the amount of hugs."
"Done, done and done," he murmured as he leaned down to kiss you sweetly and gently.
LUFFY
If Luffy hasn't upset you in some way, you'd be suspicious. His carefree nature was bound to anger or frustrate you in some way or the other, and his tendency to overexert himself in fights often ended with you concerned for his health in general. He's never made you cry, because if there's one thing Luffy can do well it's keep his promises.
Until he meets Boa Hancock.
And you get it. She's gorgeous, she's powerful, she's a queen. She's everything a woman should be, and you can't help but feel envious of the attention she gets from men. Luffy doesn't really care for her looks, which is a little comforting, however she found the way to his heart and every time you guys met her on the ocean she had the nerve to throw him a huge feast. And your beloved, naive boyfriend always thought she was just being nice and gorged himself on her food, missing the way she looked at him longingly and not understanding her flirtatious advances.
But you understood them very well.
But as mentioned before, she's a powerful person. Not just because she's a devil fruit user, but also because she's a Warlord. You knew you couldn't piss her off in any way, for the safety of the crew, but she had no such qualms. It seemed she knew that you hated how much she attended to Luffy, she knew how much you hated her advances and how Luffy always ate whatever she offered. And she abused her title, doing it on purpose because she knew there was nothing you could do.
Most of the time it was just frustrating beyond comparison. But slowly it ate away at you, and one particular meeting had you excusing yourself in an attempt to escape what seemed like a suffocating situation.
Boa was once again on your ship - it seemed like she purposely sought it out just to see your boyfriend, and she probably did. Luffy was enjoying yet another one of her feasts, and she was sat right beside him. Touching his arm and saying sweet things to him like he didn't already have a girlfriend. Batting her eyelashes at him and offering him sweet smiles that would knock the socks off any man other than Luffy. Once again, he didn't seem to notice how uncomfortable it made you, and you felt your eyes brim with tears.
Maybe he did notice and just didn't mind. Maybe he did notice and actually enjoyed her attention like everyone else did. Maybe you had him all wrong in this particular situation. He had spent a long time with her on her island, after all.
"Excuse me," you mumble to no one in particular, rising from your seat and swiftly exiting the room. It was like you couldn't breathe, your throat burning as the tears started falling faster and faster, until you could barely see.
You were sure he hasn't even noticed you were gone. He probably hadn't even seen you leave. And that thought had you clinging to your pillow harder as you screamed into it, hot angry tears rolling down your cheeks in unstoppable waves. You were so hurt and upset that you didn't notice your room door swing open and a certain captain barge in.
"(Name)?" Luffy called, sounding confused. "Are you okay?"
You felt your body bounce a little as the overeager captain jumped onto your bed, but in your stubbornness you refused to look at him and turned away instead.
"Go away, Luffy."
Luffy was not used to hearing those words from you. Nor was he used to hearing the sadness in your voice, the way it cracked halfway, and the miserable sniff that came afterwards. He was not used to seeing you like this, so sad.
"What's wrong?" He tugged on your shoulder, trying to get you to turn back around to face him. "Are you sick? Is your stomach sore?"
"No, Luffy!" You sat up and yelled in exasperation. "I'm tired! I'm so, so tired okay!" You rubbed your face and curled up, thighs pressed tightly to your chest. "I'm tired of my boyfriend letting some other woman fawn over him with no boundaries. I'm tired of watching my boyfriend be sweet-talked and flirted with by some other woman. And I can't do anything, because she's a Warlord!"
Luffy's eyes went wide, and then he burst out laughing, "Are you worried about Hammock?" The incorrect name almost had you smiling, but you managed to keep your face stoic. "(Name), I only want you. You know that right?"
"Yes," you sighed, "And I trust you, Luffy. It's just...you never stop her and sometimes it makes me feel like I'm not enough. Like she does more for you than I ever could." Your gaze fell. "Sometimes I think you actually like her."
Suddenly his arms were around you and he was squeezing you in the tightest hug he'd ever given.
"I don't like anyone the way I like you, (Name)," he promised. "ANd I never will. You are the only person who makes me feel like this, and you do enough for me already. You cook for me! I bet Hammock doesn't even make the food herself. If it came to choosing you or her, it would always be you."
Your cheeks burned when he said that, and slowly a smile formed on your lips, "That's really sweet, Luffy. Thank you. I needed to hear that."
He nuzzled his face against yours affectionately, "I will remind you as many times as you want!"
SANJI
Sanji's most annoying habit tended to irritate you majority of the time, and every instance ended with you practically fuming and storming off after telling him off angrily. He would normally appease you with something sweet, or your favourite dish. In some extreme cases, both. But you never stayed mad at him, because he made it impossible for you to do so. You just never expected that one day the hurt would become too much for you to handle, and you'd react with sadness rather than fury.
The crew had been given the day off to explore another island. Everyone had split to do their own things, but the cook insisted on accompanying you because it was one of the rare times he got to spend alone with you for an entire day. So the two of you strolled through the vibrant town, enjoying the atmosphere and each other's presence.
That is, until Sanji forgot about your warning to not flirt with anyone on this island. He deemed it just being a gentleman, but you knew better than that.
When you caught him staring as your words faltered, you expected the usual bout of anger to flare within you. You were ready to tell him off again, a dozen insults coming to mind for that woman, when you felt a sharp pang in your chest instead. Your words caught in your throat, and a sorrow like nothing you'd ever experienced filled you.
Had he been staring the entire time you were talking to him? To make matters worse, he seemed to forget you were speaking and drifted over to the lady to compliment her dress.
You felt humiliated. No one here actually knew you two, but it was embarrassing that you couldn't even keep your lover's attention on you. Your cheeks burned, your throat along with them, and your eyes brimmed with tears. It was made worse when you glanced around at all the other couples, and found them happily clinging to each other and acting like they were the only two people in the world.
"What do you think, mon cherié?" Sanji's voice suddenly filled your ears. "Do you like it?"
You hastily wiped your eyes, trying to look like you did before, "Um, like what? Sorry, I wasn't listening..."
He didn't seem to notice the sadness in your tone or the forlorn expression on your face, he just barrelled on, "This pretty young woman's dress, what do you think of it?"
"A-are you serious?" You choked out, feeling the burning in your throat get worse.
"Yes! Doesn't it look nice?"
You couldn't take it anymore. You were hyperventilating at this point. Scared of being embarrassed further with your impending sobbing, you turned and sprinted as fast as you could away from the scene. He called after you, but you weren't listening.
He arrived at the ship at the same time you did, leaving you confused. You were about to push past him when he grabbed your waist, stopping you.
"Wait, my love, I'm sorry," he apologised, "Don't cry, please."
You smacked his hand away from your face, "No, don't. If you were really sorry, you'd stop flirting with every woman you see like I told you to! But no, you keep doing it." Your eyes watered again. "Do you have any idea what it's like? Seeing your own lover interested in someone else, not even listening to you?"
Sanji was speechless. He had no idea it affectef you this much, but he blamed himself for going on with it even when you told him not to.
"How would you feel if I flirted with every guy I saw?" You demanded.
"Oh no, please don't," he begged, heart sinking at the thought.
"But it's okay for you to do it?" You looked away, and his heart broke.
"I'm sorry," he apologised again, "I am, really. But I wasn't flirting with her, I promise! I was just asking where she got that dress because it looked so nice and I thought it would look good on you..."
Your eyes widened when you heard this, "Wait, what? Is that why you asked if I liked it?"
"Mhm," he smiled, "I wanted to get it for you if you did."
You were the speechless one now. All that time he had been thinking of you, and you'd gone and assumed the worst. Now you felt even more embarrassed, but for a totally different reason.
"Sanji, I-"
"No need to apologise, love," he immediately hugged you when it seemed like it was okay for him to. "I haven't exactly given you reasons to trust me not to flirt. But I promise, I am doing my best to not do it. I don't want to lose you."
He really was too cute to stay mad at, or even to stay sad about, and you ended up smiling and leaning in to kiss him.
"Fine, but do it again and I'm going to leave you for Zoro."
His face paled, "No no, mon cheriè, you can't be serious! Love, wait! Are you serious??" And he followed you to your room, begging you to tell him you were lying.
USOPP
You were well aware that Usopp had had a romantic interest in a girl long before he met you. He would never tell you about her, but Nami and Luffy told you about her and what they knew about her relationship with Usopp. As far as you could tell, they had never done anything more than kiss once.
You felt like you were getting in the way of their relationship, and most days that thought just put you into an emotionless daze. You felt like you couldn't compare, because she seemed to be his first love. And as bad as this sounds, you started to feel like you were a relationship of convenience to him. Someone to keep him company while he longed for another.
"You know that's not true," Nami would reassure you when you confided in her. "He's not like that. He really loves you."
"I can tell he thinks about her sometimes," you argue, "And we don't know whether or not he imagines her in my place when we kiss or do anything remotely romantic. Who's to say he wouldn't go back to her if we somehow made it back to the East Blue?"
Nami couldn't give you the answer to that, and it hurt all the more. You tried not to let it get to you, you really did, but some days were worse than others. Some days you felt inferior, like you were not as pretty as she was, even though you'd never seen her. If he was so crazy about her to still be thinking about her months after he'd met you, he surely still loved her, right?
"Usopp, I have a question," Nami asked the sharpshooter one day.
"Uhhhh, no I did not borrow any money from you..." He replied nervously, eyes darting around the room.
The navigator's eyes narrowed, "We'll get to that later. Anyway, if we went back to the East Blue, what would you do? Would you want to rekindle your relationship with Kaya?"
Usopp's face paled, "What kind of question is that?!"
"Just answer!"
"I...I don't know!" He cried, then attempted to flee only to see you standing in the doorway, your eyes glistening. "(Name)-"
"I get it," you swallowed thickly, "She was your first love. I just wish you'd stop pretending like this relationship means anything to you." You turned and retreated to your room, locking the door and falling down against it, tears flowing freely.
You knew it was unfair. You knew he'd known her his whole life and you just a year. But you kind of hoped that since you'd actually developed what you thought was a meaningful, deep romantic relationship with him, he wouldn't have to think about it. You kind of hoped he would just choose you, simple as that. And you know it was unfair to him, and selfish of you. But you couldn't help it.
"(Name)!" The sharpshooter knocked on your door. "Please let me in!" He sounded panicked, like he did before you all went into a fight.
"Go away, Usopp," you yelled, but the pain in your voice was too clear for him to ignore.
Normally he would give up. He does that very easily. But when it comes to you he doesn't stop, and he never will. He hates leaving you on your own, especially when you're upset and even more so when he's the reason you're upset.
"Please, baby," he pleaded, "Let me explain! I never said I would! Please, just open up. Let's talk about this!"
"You can say what you want through the door," you told him, "Otherwise we don't talk at all." And yes, again this was unfair to him, but again you couldn't help it.
"I know what you must be thinking," he immediately started, "And you're wrong. Yes I used to love Kaya, and yes we almost had a relationship, but that was clearly not meant to be. Because I met you, and I fell in love with you, and I can't imagine loving anyone else now that I know what it feels like to love you." He paused for a moment, thinking of what else to say, and then, "You're the love of my life now, and I know that it will stay that way even if we were to somehow end up back in the East Blue. You are my girlfriend now, and I only ever want or think about you. Please believe me, it'll only ever be you."
Hearing all of this slowly calmed you down, and you didn't even notice when the tears stopped. His sincere, loving words hit you right where you needed them the most, and you stood up to open the door.
"You mean all that?"
"Yes," he looked like he was on the verge of tears himself. "Please don't break up with me."
"Oh, Usopp," you laughed and wiped your eyes, "I could never do that. Especially not after such sweet words. You're stuck with me."
"And hopefully always will be," he added, immediately hugging you and almost crushing your bones. "I'm so sorry (Name), I'm sorry I made you cry!" And then he actually started crying.
"Usopp..."

RELATIONSHIP + EUSTASS KID
general relationship headcanons with kid!!
info: (late) happy kid day! || comms/ko-fi + b-day raffle (open until the 15th!)
kid is a very unpredictable partner. date nights with him are always crazy and you don't really know what to expect—not only you don't know where he will take you, but you also don't know if you'll get the loving and clingy kid or the wild and agressive kid.
even if he's unpredictable, you can always count on him for anything. if you talk about something that you need to do, in the blink of an eye it's done and eustass will pretend he doesn't know anything about it. it's the same with anything you want to buy, if you mention it, consider yours already.
he is not the type to get jealous over you hanging out with your friends alone, he often does that too, his only problem is if one of them get a little too touchy with you. while he would try his best to not yell immediately at the person, his looming presence behind you—and his murderous intentions—would be enough to make the person back off.
one of the best things about being his partner is having a hot pack whenever you need. his body temperature is so high, on cold days you just need to hug him and you will be warm for the entire night. if your stomach hurt, his warm hand on top of your belly makes you extra comfortable and helps with the pain.
he might not be the most skilled in the kitchen, but he would enjoy helping you with any recipe you want. he might get mad and yell at you if he messes something up, but he would try his best to follow any instructions—even if he complains a lot about it.

hii!
is it okay if i request zoro x immortal gn reader? like they're an immortal that wants to die so they beg him to try to kill them?
immortal heart | roronoa zoro
➳ categories: canonverse, gender neutral reader, post-thriller bark arc
➳ word count: 2.3k
➳ summary: Roronoa Zoro aspires to be the World's Greatest Swordsman, but he has to fight many enemies and defeat the current greatest to achieve such a title. Besides those things, is there anything else that he has to do? He doesn't think there is any until he's presented with an unusual challenge: to kill a dangerous immortal without his knowledge.
➳ notes: spa island was the island the straw hats visited for a filler arc. thanks for the request anon! 🧡
➳ cross-posted on ao3
Zoro hears the rustling of leaves.
In the dense dark woods, he can make out a shadowy figure meandering through the boreal trees, twisting and turning to avoid making any noise—but Zoro is observant when he puts his mind to it, so he does just that, going as far as to ignoring the temptation of the unopened bottle of sake in front of him.
Suddenly, the shadow disappears. Zoro decides to ignore it and enjoy his sake.
The next day, the Straw Hats arrive at Spa Island, a resort built on top of a ship that drifts in the sea. His mates have changed out of their regular clothes into swimwear, but Zoro refuses to leave his swords unattended, so he dresses himself in a white tank top and green shorts before setting foot on the resort.
Having decided against dipping into the swimming pool with Franky, boredom creeps into Zoro's mind the more he wanders about the unusual island. He tries to find something to entertain himself with, but nothing comes to mind.
That is, until the News Coo arrives.
Zoro seizes the newspaper that lands on top of his head, grunting at the gull that flies past him speedily. He stops dead in his tracks and opens the newspaper.
A wanted poster falls out.
Zoro picks it up from the ground.
'WANTED. ONLY DEAD: (Y/N).'
His eyes widen at your bounty.
'B 540,000,000.'
A bitter taste settles in his mouth. Your bounty is dangerously higher than his, which makes Zoro wonder what you could have possibly done to the Marines for them to give you such a number. He himself stood face-to-face with two Warlords at Thriller Bark, yet his bounty stays at 120 million berries. A number as huge as yours is an impressive nightmare.
He places your poster back inside the newspaper and tucks it in his armpit. Making his way to the restobar, he decides to meet up with Luffy in an attempt to find something more worthwhile to invest his time and effort in.
By the time the sun goes down, Zoro still has nothing better to do apart from drinking.
Luffy is beside him, stuffing his mouth with meat like a starved man, while the rest of the crew are hanging out by the open tent, individually sipping on their piña colada's and drinks that Sanji (for some odd reason) served them. When Zoro is spent on his drink, he decides to explore the resort after being warned by Chopper multiple times to be careful of his surroundings.
He snickers. It's just a resort, he thought to himself smugly.
He walks a great distance away from the restobar, scanning the giant swimming pools and waterslides at the park. The guests have wind down and the numbers have dwindled, leaving only staff and stubborn guests wandering about. Zoro figures he's one of those people, but he doesn't care and continues with his stroll.
Once the sun is out and the moon shines near midnight, Zoro is successfully lost in some part of the island resort with no clue of how to get back to where he came. He looks to his right, to his left, and curses himself bashfully when he realizes that he cannot decipher which way is which.
Ashamed, Zoro continues walking until he reaches the end of the island, overlooking the sea.
He relaxes at the sight, taking in the view.
Then he hears it again.
The rustling of leaves.
He whips his head to the direction of the sound and clutches the handles of his swords. A gust of wind blows past him and the rustling gets louder. It's almost eerie, but Zoro doesn't get scared easily. No, he isn't frightened.
So when he's ambushed by someone to his right, he blocks the hits successfully.
He doesn't struggle, but he's close. Adept with a sword, you advance forward in an attempt to topple him over, but Zoro has the upper hand with his two other swords supporting his strength. He resists your attacks and dodges your advances gracefully, looking for a way to defeat you through combat—but you resist with equal force, the inner flow of your energy imbuing the blade of your sword from the tip to its hilt. Zoro swings his sword across your chest, but you veer out of the way and angle your blade to block another hit.
To your misery, his third blade digs into your skin, deep enough to leave a wound past its outermost layer.
Your breath hitches, and your stomach turns.
Zoro pushes you to the ground, his blade centimeters deep, but you helplessly squirm in his grasp. He wraps his fingers around your throat and observes you intently, a stranger to your being but seemingly familiar with your face. You wriggle underneath him, but he tightens the chokehold.
That's right—you're the wanted pirate on the poster he found earlier, tucked in between the pages of today's newspaper. Your photo was an illustration, but it was badly drawn, almost like a century-old sketch with lazy coloring that rendered you unrecognizable. Now that he has a good look at your face, Zoro can confirm that it's really you.
At that second, Zoro wants to finish you off quickly so that he can regroup with his crew and they can leave the island as soon as they came. While he doesn't know what you do and what you came for, Zoro surmises that you're dangerous, a threat to him and his crew with your large bounty. Now that he has you restrained underneath him, he's bound to not let go.
However, in the split second he thinks to himself, a faint memory hammers in his head, one that he encountered not long ago.
"This place is a historian's nightmare," said Robin as she walked past the group, striding down the hallway of the Thriller Bark ship. She stood in front of a painting that hung on the wall, dusty and long forgotten, and ran her fingertips across the gold frame that enclosed the relic.
Zoro looked at the walls as he walked. He wasn't a fan, but a select few depicted dramatic movements and action, rich details and intricate poses of warriors in battle that piqued his interest. He walked ahead of his crew as he observed, passing Robin, who was deeply entranced by an old portrait of a figure—a young adult, not much older than Zoro himself, dressed in obsolete clothing that dated back to at least a thousand years ago.
When Zoro looks back at you, he catches a glint in your eyes that swirl with a bountiful of emotions—fright, desperation, and aggravation. Yet the corners of your lips twitch upward slightly, a subtle motion that he would have otherwise missed if only he wasn't attentive.
Suddenly, Zoro eases the force on your neck. He withdraws his blade, allowing the blood to drip down your skin and pool on the ground.
The twinkle in your eyes disappears just as fast.
Still holding you, Zoro demands, "You don't want to die, do you?"
"I don't!" You kick your feet desperately. "Let me go or I'll kill you and your crew! Let me go!"
His grip loosens on your neck.
In a bat of an eye, he pushes you to the ground and your head makes contact with the cold concrete. Afterward, he rises to his feet.
"Liar," he spits, watching you choke as you regain your breathing. "What are you here for?"
You cough on air, unresponsive. He watches you with a hard gaze.
Zoro has been in countless battles all his life—it's no question as the retired pirate hunter of the East Blue and the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates. In that regard, he can read his opponent expertly, seeing through their intentions and the inner workings of their minds akin to reading a book. The moment he looked at you, he recognized the emotions that smothered your face all too well, but something about the way you present them are baffling, unexpected.
The shine in your eyes was different. It was nothing he had ever seen before in battle, not even in the irises of his weakest enemy.
Zoro realizes that you're not desperate to live.
You're desperate to die.
"Answer me," he growls.
"I-I thought"—you cough—"I thought you were going to kill me..."
"I wasn't."
"But why? What stopped you, swordsman? Are you too feeble to kill another?!"
Zoro withdraws his blades into their scabbards. He notices the surprise in your eyes, the kind of emotion that shows disappointment. Your fright is gone, leaving only sadness to consume you.
"I don't kill without proper reason," he says. You glare at him. You're breaking character. "What are you here for?"
"I'm going to kill you," you mutter. Zoro is unfazed. "I'm going to kill you!"
At that very second, you grab your sword and activate your powers, coating the blade with the energy of your Haki. Zoro retaliates, but he resists your attacks eventually, careful enough not to hit you too hard.
Your wanted poster flashes in his imagination.
'WANTED. ONLY DEAD: (Y/N). B 540,000,000'
You tilt your sword and attack his side, your coated blade millimeters away from his bare skin. Zoro grits his teeth as he holds his defense.
'ONLY DEAD: (Y/N).'
'ONLY DEAD.'
"The Marines want you dead," he says. "Your bounty is higher than half of the Warlords, but you want to die in my hands. What do you want?!"
He pushes his blade toward you, shoving you far enough to regain his stance.
"A fight!"
You charge at him a second time, lunging forward too quickly that he misses the way you attack him. You lacerate the skin of his biceps with your hardened blade, and he gets a taste of your strength, the type to be expected of the pirate with half a billion berries— but Zoro refuses to go down with a pathetic injury, so he endures your advances and fights you off agitatedly.
As if in slow-motion, he swings his blade aggressively to your chest.
To his surprise, you move toward it, meeting the blade with your skin, the area closest to your heart.
His eyes grow large when his blade cuts into your body only to ricochet back into his hand, his attack backfiring as the force blows him away.
Zoro lands a few meters away from you upon impact, his swords thankfully still in his hands. He winces in pain, but he recovers immediately and lifts his head to look at you.
You drop your sword to the ground. You're bleeding terribly. Blood oozes from the area which the swordsman had cut, and it continues to pour down your body nonstop, slowly creating a pool of red liquid beneath your feet. Holding onto your chest, you walk toward the edge of the island.
"Now we wait," you mumble.
Zoro stands back up and charges toward you, but he forgoes his blades and instead grabs your wrist. He spins you around and pulls you away from the ledge, eventually throwing you to the ground once more.
Yet you lay there, unbothered, until you help yourself back up on your feet, completely ignoring the blood dripping down your body... like it's not painful at all.
Zoro watches in horror as you collect yourself in front of him, standing a few meters away with exhausted hooded eyes trained on the ground.
"Well," you say to yourself, "I'm still alive."
You look up from the ground and stare at the swordsman in front of you.
"Even if I had begged, it still wouldn't have made a difference."
You fall to your knees.
"Unless... I try..." you whisper. You crawl closer to Zoro, who backs away with every step you take closer to him. "Roronoa Zoro, is it? The swordsman of the Straw Hats, the man who faced three different Warlords in the past months?"
With quivering lips, you stretch your hands out to him.
"You're... you're strong. I know that you are. You may not be as wanted now, but the New World awaits your kind."
"Keep your distance," he orders.
You ignore him.
"I have to ask a favor." You crawl to his feet hastily, gripping his legs. His jaw falls ajar. "Kill me. Please, just kill me. Do anything in your power to make sure that I don't leave here alive."
He gulps. Zoro tries to wrest his legs free from your hands, but you don't let go of him.
"Please!" You cry. "You want to be the world's greatest swordsman, don't you? Why not put yourself up for the challenge and kill an immortal?"
Looking up at the sky, lightning strikes past the clouds as thunder erupts in your vast surroundings, defeating the sound of waves that crash on the island ship's foundation. Zoro stares at you. He shakes his head in confusion.
"Immortal?" he repeats aloud.
He looks down at your bloodstained garments. You have lost a lot of blood, but you remain strong and standing, almost as if you were never injured to begin with.
"I can't feel pain," you whisper. "I tried to fight you, but I couldn't get you to kill me unless I forced myself at the tip of your blades. I had to act. I had to pretend to be hurt."
You clench his hands in yours.
"Please," you cry, "please help me."
Zoro keeps quiet, gathering his thoughts for a second.
Your bounty, your wanted poster, your questionable strength, the portrait back in Thriller Bark dating over a millennium ago—everything begins to dawn on him at that very moment. Zoro's eyes go wide as he realizes the weight of the circumstances, and for the first time in his life, he feels a chill run down his spine.
"Roronoa Zoro, please save me."
He purses his lips together.
Pulling you to your feet, Zoro makes up his mind.
"Stand up. I'm bringing you somewhere."
-
thanks for reading! if anyone would like to continue this story/write their own take to the prompt, i would be happy to read it! i found the prompt easy to interpret at first, but i soon had trouble with it due to the concept of immortality (e.g. do immortal beings feel pain/get injured? do they have regenerative abilities? if they don't, do they just live on with damaged organs until they stop working? in that case, wouldn't immortal beings be capable of dying?) even the universe of one piece hasn't given much depth to this concept yet, so if you want to put your own twist to it, please be my guest :)
p.s., the ending was meant to hint at zoro bringing the reader over to luffy and crew (because the reader may have lived to witness the void century, hence the bounty), but you can interpret it whichever way you want.

ACE
Ever since you and Ace became a couple, Ace noticed that he slept amazing when you were beside him. The nights you had to sleep apart however, brought restlessness, sometimes strange dreams that left him feeling as though he hadn’t slept at all, but it was worse when he had to suffer through nightmares. Tonight, he reluctantly went to bed while you had to stay in the infirmary while you recovered from a sickness. It was just a precaution to avoid you infecting the others but Ace needed more convincing than the others. He didn’t care if he got sick and would have risked it but you managed to talk him around, promising it would be just one night and it would make you feel better to know he was safe and healthy. Reluctantly he climbed into the bed and pouted at your empty side until his eyes grew heavy and sleep claimed him.
“Ace how do I look?” You asked him in his dream and he broke out into an overwhelmed smile, taking in your breathtaking appearance. You were all but glowing, dressed for a wedding; your wedding. Slowly he reached out to cup your face before taking your hand to playfully twirl you and take in your outfit with growing appreciation. Unable to hold back, he pulled you into a tight hug. “You look amazing, you always do.” He whispered, pulling back to see your eyes light with joy as you you looked down at your outfit, smoothing the fabric into place.
“I’m glad. I hope Marco thinks so too.” You beamed up at him, unaware of Ace’s expression dropping into one of confused dread. Marco? What did Marco have to do with it all? He quickly snapped out of his thoughts when you quickly took his hands into yours and leaned in with an excited smile. “Ace, will you walk me down the aisle? It’d mean so much to me!”
“B-but…aren’t you going to marry me?” Ace asked with a frown, his heart sinking when you tilted your head in confusion before laughing.
“Ace, don’t be silly!” You grinned, giving him a playful shove. “You know I’m marrying Marco, come on I can’t be late!” Before he could react, you grabbed his wrist and hurried down a corridor that seemed unending. Finally the corridor shifted to reveal a filled room, your hand was no longer in his and you stood with Marco at the altar.
His stomach lurched and Ace let out a yelp as he landed on the floor of his room, tangled in the bedsheet and head swimming as he tried to let his brain catch up with the fact he was awake and what he’d just witnessed was a horrible dream. Scrambling to his feet, Ace bolted out of the room and hurried to the infirmary, hearing the sound of you coughing when he neared the door. Quietly he entered and walked quietly to your bedside. “Ace? You should be in bed.” You told him weakly.
“No, I should never have let you talk me into leaving you.” Ace said as he climbed into the bed with you, pulling you close to let you rest against him. His fingers lightly moved over your back, soothing your aching body while also finding your presence soothing him from the nightmare he’d had. “We’re a team right? Through thick and thin…sickness and in health.”
“Aren’t those wedding vows?”
“Are they?” Ace asked innocently but you could hear his heart pick up speed slightly. “Must have been a coincidence…”
SHANKS
Before meeting you, Shanks never saw himself as the settling down type. He was more than content to live his days exploring and enjoying himself with a lover in every island should the mood take him. Then you came along and changed his life in every wonderful way imaginable. You were the adventure he’d been missing and hadn’t even known he was searching for. He couldn’t imagine ever being apart from you. You might have fallen for his charm and flirtatious smile first but he fell for your warmth and beautiful soul so much harder.
So when he dreamt of himself standing at the front of an altar, he knew you would be the only other possible person his subconscious would conjure to join him. Shanks felt excitement gather in his chest and then in a blink he saw Beckman appear beside him. “This is a big thing, Captain. You sure you can go through with this?” His right-hand man asked with a grin before continuing. “I mean you’ve never preformed a wedding ceremony before, will you be able to handle it?”
Shanks felt his excitement fizzle out and it was quickly replaced with confusion and apprehension. Yes, as Captain he would be the one to marry members of his crew but he couldn’t possibly be the one to get married and preform the ceremony at the same time. It didn’t make sense and as much as he wanted to know, he dreaded what the explanation would be because he already knew it wasn’t going to be something he’d like. “Benn! Shanks!”
Both heads turned and Shanks’ chest felt like it was going to explode with adoration and pride as he saw you hurry to them. He waited for your hands to reach for him but instead you merely smiled at him and hurried to Beckman’s side, eagerly letting his arms wrap around you and hold you close. “Sorry I’m late but we can start now.” You beamed, your gaze settling on Shanks’ face expectantly. “Whenever you’re ready Captain, I can’t wait to marry this man!”
With a jolt and gasp, Shanks woke to the calm, dark silence using the sound of the gentle waves hitting the side of the Red Force to help calm his breathing. He glanced to down to see you curled up on your side, your back against him and your arms loosely but just as possessively wrapped around his arm. Shanks let out a small huff as he silently laughed at his stupid mind for conjuring such a ridiculous scenario. Rolling onto his side, Shanks pressed a kiss against your temple, stilling when you began to shift. You turned as you began to wake, curling into his chest and let out a sleepy smile when his now freed arm tightened around you, keeping you close. “Everything okay?” You mumbled.
“Never better.” Shanks affirmed with a smile, pressing another kiss against your cheek. As much as he knew it was a ridiculous dream and that things between you both were beyond amazing, Shanks considered that maybe he was worried in some part that someone may take you from him someday. “Promise me you won’t marry Beck, okay?”
“Why, you wanna marry him?” Even half-asleep you were still able to make a joke and help your lover relax.
“The only one I want to be committed to is you.”
“Good, because I’m not going anywhere.”
“Promise?”
“I do.”
MIHAWK
“Clown, what is the meaning for all of this…fanfare?” Mihawk asked, looking around the extensibly decorated circus tent. Brightly coloured ribbons adorned the ceiling, flowers were displayed in grand, flashy, and quite simply ostentatious arrangements that just screamed ‘Buggy the Clown.’ None of it was to Mihawk’s taste but it was clear the clown was up to something. The figurehead of Cross Guild spun around, dressing in a bright suit and his painted smile, spread wide in triumph.
“Mihawk! So glad you’ve arrived. We were worried you were going to miss the festivities. They’ll be writing about this in the papers for weeks.” Buggy declared with a laugh, allowing his hands to detach from his arms to gesture widely as confetti seemed to rain down from nowhere. Mihawk’s eye twitched at the useless theatrics, he’d asked a question and wanted an actual answer. Thankfully he didn’t need to repeat himself because Buggy cleared his throat and stepped to the side to show the altar Mihawk could have sworn wasn’t there before. “It’s my wedding obviously.”
A wedding? This was the first Mihawk heard about it. As far as he knew, Buggy hadn’t had a serious relationship in a long time, certainly not serious enough to warrant a wedding. So who was the clown’s secret betrothed? The answer came instantly when he heard footsteps behind him. Mihawk turned and did a double take when he saw it was you. The look in your eyes was filled with so much excitement and joy they practically sparkled. He began to reach out for you but you slipped past him and continued with conviction until you were proudly beside Buggy. Disbelief gripped Mihawk at the scene in front of him. No, this was impossible. Letting his instincts take hold, he reached for Yoru and charged for Buggy.
“Mihawk, no!” You pleaded, stepping in front and stopping his attack mid-swing with just your voice. “Please it’s my wedding day. Promise there’ll be no fighting. For me okay?” Mihawk snapped awake immediately and let out a sigh of relief to see he was in his own quarters and not a garish decoration in sight. Despite having slept, the nightmare he was forced to endure had left him exhausted. Part of him was reluctant to try and fall back to sleep out of worry of what other hellish thoughts his mind would conjure for him.
With a sigh he reached out your side of the bed and only now he noticed it was empty. Yet it was still warm, you’d only just risen but it was still late at night. Just as he was about to rise and search for you, the door opened and you silently crept in, pausing to see Mihawk was awake and watching you. Now seeing you had no need to be stealthy you smiled and walked back towards the bed. “I was getting a drink of water. Did I wake you?”
“No, love.” Mihawk answered, holding out his arms to pull you close against him, his eyes closing when your fingers slipped into his hair. “Had an awful dream you married the clown and wouldn’t let me cut him to pieces for it.”
“How strange…” You mused with a yawn. “Although I’m not opposed to the idea, truth be told.”
“Marrying the clown?” Mihawk leaned back to look at you, unable to hide his disgust as the images from his dream came flooding back.
“No!” You laughed pressing a kiss against his cheek. “Marrying you. Although people consider us married anyway.” Mihawk chuckled, it was true. Mihawk supposed now that it had been properly brought up, it was worth considering to finally propose. His golden eyes observed you carefully and saw your eyes were growing heavy. That was a conversation best saved for the morning.
KID
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” Kid shouted as he looked at you standing hand in hand with none other than Strawhat Luffy, both of you dressed very clearly for a wedding. At his outburst you both turned to look at him in shared confusion. “Him? You’re seriously going to marry him! He’s a moron!”
“Only sometimes.” You shrugged before smiling dreamily at the Strawhat pirate. “He’s also super strong, and funny, and he’s King of the Pirates now so-”
“What? No he’s not!” Kid argued angrily trying to charge forward but every step he took kept him firmly on the same spot. This wasn’t real, this couldn’t be happening. You were with him! You had no interest in the pipsqueak Captain of the Strawhats like that. You weren’t as shallow to only be with something because of their title, you weren’t like that. You saw the good in people, you’d seen the good in him and you loved him. Of that much Kid was certain of. This just had to be some awful dream. He just needed to wake up and everything would be okay.
“Kid!” Kid jolted upright with a yell meeting your bewildered gaze. “What is it? You were calling my name over and over. Are you okay?” You hesitated from touching him as out of fear he was still clinging to the nightmare he was waking from, not wanting to overwhelm him but you had to speak to him, to reassure him your were here. You watched as Kid steadied his breathing and reached out towards you with his good arm. Quickly you took his hand into both of yours and guided his fingers to rest against your collarbone so he could feel your steady heartbeat under your skin and feel the rise and fall of your chest, hoping he would copy the steadied breaths and calm. “I’m here, we’re safe in our room. What do you need?”
“Kill Strawhat.” Kid ground out tightly as he calmed, his fingers flexing around yours just a little tighter to ground him in the reality. Finally he let out a long, heavy sigh and shook his head. “Nah, he’s not worth my time. Just need you babe.” You let out a sigh of your own, soft and relieved to hear him speak and inched closer, smiling when his hand moved up to curl behind your neck and thread into your hair, pulling you in for a soft and gentle kiss. Parting he lay his forehead against yours, finding his ability to be vulnerable around you to be proof of the love you both shared.
“Promise me, even if that little runt becomes King of the Pirates and asks you to marry him, you’ll say no.”
“Kid, you’re the only one I’ve ever wanted.” You reassured him softly. “Don’t care about titles or any of that stuff but if you want to give me a ring and let me call you husband if it makes you feel better we can do that?”
“Did you just half-ass a proposal to me?” Kid asked with a grin, all worries from his dream vanishing instantly.
“Not at all, Captain. Was just letting you know you can half-ass propose to me if you want.” With a laugh and a playful shove, Kid considered taking you up on the offer but now he had to wait for a while so that when he did propose, it would seem like it was all his idea.
KATAKURI
Another tea-party, another celebration filled with people and a feast of the finest food imaginable. Katakuri stood firmly in place, watching all of the guests and his family occupy the space, prepared for anything to happen. Like everything else, nothing would escape his sight and nothing would ruin his mother’s carefully planned party, he always made sure of that. Across the large garden he caught sight of the extravagant mountain-sized wedding cake and now he felt confused, he hadn’t known this was a wedding. Curiously he looked around, searching for his siblings to spot who would be the bride or groom. But then that thought went out of his head when he saw you of all people standing at the altar at the top of the cake.
His heart all but skipped when he saw you but that led him to become even more confused. If you were up there and waiting to get married, why was he all the way down here and standing watch? He was madly in love with you and you loved him, so why were you both apart? Then you turned to face someone who was on top of the cake with you. Katakuri watched in dismay to see his brother Perospero take your hand in his and grin at you. Behind his thick layers of his scarf wound around the lower half of his face, Katakuri’s lips curled in a tight snarl and he gripped his arms tightly to control the mounting anger. Why was this happening?
From behind him he heard his mother’s loud laughter, delighted by the ceremony taking place on the cake she couldn’t wait to devour. Katakuri lowered his gaze and took a deep breath, of course. Big Mom did enjoy arranging marriages for her children and this was clearly one of her arrangements but he couldn’t help but feel the pain of how you’d been taken from him and he couldn’t do anything to intervene. Worse still, you didn’t even look like you wanted him to be in Prosperous place.
Katakuri woke instantly, his eyes snapping open and his mind clearing just as fast. As though sensing the change in his body, you stirred from your comfortable place on his chest. As you rubbed the sleep from your eyes and yawned, Katakuri’s hand fell over your back, making sure to keep you comfortable knowing that your mind was still hazy and body was still heavy as it clung to the need for sleep. If he reassured you all was well quickly, you’d fall back into your own pleasant dreams in no time. “Kata…what’s the matter?” You mumbled, managing to crack your eyes open slightly to look at him.
“Just a bad dream. I’m fine now.” Katakuri informed you simply, never needing to lie to you.
“Hm, what kind of dream?” You asked, absently running your fingers over his chest as you listened to his steady heartbeat that always lulled you to sleep.
“Dreamt mother had arranged for you to marry Perospero.” He explained, rubbing your back in response to your soothing touches. “I could only stand by and watch.”
“Sorry you had to dream such a thing but don’t worry that won’t happen.”
“If mother demanded it, I couldn’t fight against her wishes.” Katakuri mumbled, feeling his own mind grow hazy once more as your radiating warmth was coaxing him to sleep. He blinked when you abruptly pushed yourself up to frown at him in the dark. “What?”
“Katakuri…we’re already married.” You reminded him, lifting your hand to show the band of metal on your finger glinting in the moonlight. With a tired, amused huff at your husbands momentary lapse in memory you flopped back down onto your husband’s chest.
