Enneagram 5 Subtype Explained

The Social 5 "Totem"

The SO5 is the most assertive and ambitious of the enneagram 5. This subtype combines the desire of E5 (knowledge and understanding) and the social drive to create and share knowledge. They find great importance In the power of knowledge. Usually having a hyper fixed desire on what is true and logistically correct. John Lukovich describes them as having a "promethean calling" which I think is probably the most accurate of this subtype. Due to their desire to share their obtained knowledge.

The Self Preservation 5 "Castle"

The SP 5 looks to fulfill their desire for knowledge and understanding through gaining insight on their specific interest. The 5 have this 9ish quality to them in the sense that the desire to create an environment that makes them comfortable. However unlike the 9 the sp5 does it in order to maxine efficiency in their interest. This subtype maybe the most social awkward of the enneagram. I personally would attribute curiosity as their defining characteristic. Usually this subtype looks like a typical 5 (quite and reserved) however they can also look like 9s due their introverted and constant narcotization.

The Sexual 5 "Trust"

As the counter type of E5 this subtype looks to find a personal other through the sharing of interest and insight. This subtype subverts the usual conventions of the E5 by being focused on emotional desire. However they are stick an E5 so the struggle of them being a rejection type is still there. They go about fulfilling their core desire by finding a significant other that holds their exact same interest. Similar to the E4 they portray an image of somebody who us deeply interesting however unlike the E4 its not an image but a reality of the subjects interest and desires.

Help Me Pick A Ship

So I wrote an outline for a story, right? Now I just need to pick a ship to write a story about. If u have any suggestions for a different ship or a specific ending for one, feel free to comment and let me know? Even if it's from a fandom not listed.

Anyways, the outline comes with a handful of endings, ranging from fluffy to bittersweet to toxic, with one of the endings including side paring ending. I'll decide according to how the story flows and what feels in-character, or if anyone wants a specific ending.

Also don't expect perfection, i don't write for most of these characters, but I do read a lot of fics for them, so that's the best you'll get.

The story is based off of "Good Luck Babe", but it's also best friend to Lovers. Heavy situationship, lots of angsty feelings, and all that jazz. Even if you only know one ship feel free to drop a vote, I really can't decide for myself

Pride Month somehow went by in a fucking flash.

Here’s a short Merthur clip inspired by a conversation between Sherlock and Molly Hooper on BBC’s Sherlock.

“You’re a bit like my dad. Even after he got sick, he was cheerful and lovely, always. Except when he thought no one could see.” A pause. “I saw him once. He looked sad.”

“Gwen.”

“You look sad.” Another pause.

“You look sad, when you think he can’t see you.”

Arthur stopped his approach on the tattered practice dummy. Flicking his eyes over to where she gestured with her own.

Merlin was polishing armor in the grass.

Arthur didn’t really think before he murmured

“What of it?” And shrugged as if this is something he could just dismiss in one perfectly executed move, just like any foe. But this is an enemy he’s faced many times and lost countless battles. His own stupid incessant bleeding feelings.

This time felt different though. They seemed to be wrapping vines around his heart and lungs. Making it hard to breathe, sometimes he could hear nothing but blood in his ears and the sound of his heart shattering over and over again.

Different people stood behind the knife each time it landed, people he thought he could trust. People he thought loved him as much as he loved them in return.

And each time, he sank to a newer low. One he thought he would never reach.

Morgana.

Uther.

Gwen.

Lancelot.

Agravaine.

The lot of them turned out to hate him for no other reason than being born to the parents that he was. Gwen and Lance may be excluded from this, but their treachery was less to Prince Arthur and closer to the real Arthur. The one that sits beneath the skin of this, now, King.

And then, there was Merlin.
