How I think Marauders Era Couples got together

Dorlene: Slept together for a couple months, Dorcas refused to admit she had feelings but Marlene was head over heels. Eventually Marlene went to Dorcas' one summer and they worked it out (this is heavily inspired by casual and red wine supernova by chappell roan)

Wolfstar: very natural, they were roommates so it was lingering touches and staring just slightly too long. When Remus (bc siri is baby) confessed he liked Sirius (they were drunk) the only thing that changed was that they started sleeping in the same bed and kissing.

Marylily: Kinda the same as wolfstar, but they were more mature about it. Lily opened up to Mary as soon as she felt like she liked her more than just friends.

Jegulus: oh my babies. Pining, so much pining. They would glare at each other across the hall, and Regulus would be such a little punk on the quidditch field (James found this very hot, but he also got PISSED). They got detention together one night, and as they were cleaning the trophy's James asked Reg why he hated him sm. Reg was dumbfounded and it spiraled into them making out somehow.

Peter and Sybil (idk the ship name): they were friends for a while, and they got together after a game of spin the bottle (Peter didn't want to play but Sirius convinced him to) oh and Sybil knew it would happen for a while, she was just waiting.

Rosekiller: Definition of no homo. They would literally mess around and say no homo after. They would blow smoke into each others mouth while holding eye contact. Evan fell first, Barty fell harder. They ended up dating after Regulus got mad at Barty and started yelling about how they were so annoying and just needed to have sex.

I know a lot of people see Sirius like 5’6 and Remus like 6’5, but like dude do you know how giant 6’5 is like damn. I’m a 5’6 female right and my older brother he’s about 6’5 and he towers over me. And I’ve personally never seen Sirius short or like a twink ngl, I’ve always seen him as like really built and tall and Remus is like an average height not like a giant like half the fandom sees him. So this is my opinion, and if you don’t like I do really give two sh!ts:)

I don't think I've covered that so far? Not all of them were made up by me tbf, most of them came from @literallysleepy but I'd be happy to explain them! I've not mentioned them all on here I think, but I'll cover what I've got. Obviously there are some we didn't come up with you I figured I'd just include them all

Cosmiccreation/Xenophilius x Pandora: A reference to their hippie-ish attitudes (a common headcanon for them in general but especially in aus) and the creation is based off of Pandora's occupation as an inventor. I have seen quillseer for this two as well, the quill from Xenophilius's occupation as an editor for The Quibbler and seer because it's a popular headcanon that Pandora is one, but since I don't follow that headcanon it doesn't make sense for me to use that shipname. If I see a shipname with seer in it, I'll likely think it's for Sybill

Crownest/Severus x Igor: It originally started as Crow's Nest but obviously it doesn't fit with the way a shipname is usually written. A crow is a dark bird (obviously) and then a crow's nest is also a structure in the upper part of the main cast of a ship, so there's the dark bird for Severus and then there's the bird in reference to Igor as well and then the ship is a reference to Igor and him being from Durmstrang and the fact that they travel by ship and all that

Flowerpot/James x Lily: Just a fun name for jily, really, I know it's not used as much but yeah,,, Lily=flower, James=Pot(ter)

Ratseer/Peter x Sybill: Peter's animagus is a rat, Sybill is a seer.

Rosekiller/Barty x Evan: Rose comes from Rosier and killer is just,, well it's Barty and he's a murderer so like,, yeah rosekiller

Seabunny/Charity x Igor: Similar like how a crow's nest is a thing on a ship, the sea comes from Igor's connection to Durmstrang and their chosen mode of transportation aka a ship sailing the sea. The bunny part comes from Igor calling Charity "Bunny" as a nickname because she's bunny-like in his head. She scrunches her nose when she smiles and laughs (like a bunny nose twitching), she's very bouncy in general, and during sex she'll thump her foot in the air like a bunny

Starchaser/Sunseeker/James x Regulus: Regulus is a star, James is the sun, chaser and seeker are common headcanons for their quidditch positions. James is chasing the star aka Regulus and Regulus is searching for the sun aka James

Starrynight/Aurora x Severus: It feels a little self-explanatory, but the starry comes from Aurora and her fascination with the stars and night comes from Severus and him generally

Whitecastle/Lucius x Narcissa: It's a reference to their light palettes and their high status

Wiseprince/Edmund Jr x Severus: The Avery family is represented by Barn Owls and owls commonly symbolize wisdom, hence the wise and Severus's mother's name is Prince and it's been used for his half of a ship name in other ships. These two were also called emofaggot for a while lmaoooo cause,,, Edmund's a faggot and have you looked at Severus?

Wolfstar/Remus x Sirius: Wolf=Remus, star=Sirius

Peter squints suspiciously at the thing in his hand.

“What did you say this was again?”

“Weed. It’s a Muggle drug,” Barty grins. Sybill nods bouncily from where she has wrapped herself around her boyfriend’s arm, leaning her head onto his shoulder.

“It opens the mind,” she helpfully intones.

“Come on, Petey. Won’t you let us open your mind?” Barty says, waggling his eyebrows as he leans forward until his face is mere inches from the other boy’s. Sybill follows the movement with a spacey chuckle, her owlish eyes watching as Peter’s cheeks redden at their proximity.

A moment later and Peter is leaning away with a sheepish laugh. “And where did you two find this?”

Sybill perks up. “Oh, it’s mine. Cannabis is excellent for achieving accurate palm readings. Want to try it out?”

“…The drugs or the palm reading?”

She hums and lets go of Barty to reach forward and grab Peter’s free hand, gently running her fingers against the soft skin of his palm. “Whichever one you like, doll.”

“Or we could do both,” Barty cuts in. “Both is also good.”

Peter nods distractedly, his eyes trained on Sybill’s hands where they cradle his own. “Er, yeah. Both is good.”

“Always knew you were a smart one, Petey.” Barty claps him on the shoulder before he summons a Muggle lighter from his and Sybill’s bedroom. She lets go of Peter’s hand to grab it and his eyes follow the movement mournfully.

“Hm,” she hums lightly and plucks the spliff from Peter’s fingers. “Who wants to go first?”

“How about I go first and show him the ropes?” Barty wraps an arm around her and tugs her close, dragging her halfway into his lap. She laughs and swats playfully at him.

“Alright, alright,” Sybill says with a grin, twisting in his lap to face him. She carefully pops the tapered end between his lips and, with gentle concentration, leans closer to light it. The flame catches and she leans back with a satisfied smile as her boyfriend inhales.

Smirking, Barty reaches up to take the spliff between his fingers and remove it from his lips. He holds it in for a moment before blowing the smoke in Sybill’s face. She coughs and bats away the smoke as he laughs until she shoves at his chest fondly. “Arsehole. Should’ve known you’d do that.”

“Right as always, princess. Now budge over, me and Pete have got some weed to share.” Sybill giggles and obediently lifts off of his lap, flopping back down into her spot on the expensive plush sofa Barty had brought back to their flat a couple months prior. She’s pretty sure that he stole it from that annoying coworker he’d been complaining about, but she hasn’t asked.

“Alright, Petey.” Barty drags himself to the other end of the sofa where Peter is. His eyes widen when Barty all-but crawls on top of him and boldly sits on his lap. Barty smirks at the squeak Peter lets out.

“You were watching me take that drag, right?” Peter nods quickly, his eyes darting to the other boy’s lips before going back to his eyes. “Good. You think you got the basics?”

“Er, sure.” He says uncertainly. “Inhale, hold, exhale, yeah?”

“Exactly right. Quick learner, you are.” Barty raises his hand with the roll and cups Peter’s cheek with the other to hold him still. “Now you try.”

Sybill watches giddily as Barty leans in close and lowers the used spliff to Peter’s lips.

Immediately after the first inhale, he starts coughing. Barty pulls his hand back with a cackle, the other one still cupping his face which is now even more red.

“You alright there, loverboy?” he snickers and Peter bats his hand away in embarrassment.

“Fuck you.”

“Well, if you’re offering.”

“Barty!” Sybill chides as Peter splutters, so red it’s almost concerning. “You’re gonna scare him away.”

“Oh, alright,” he huffs and finally climbs off the poor boy. Sybill darts forward to snatch the spliff from Barty, taking a quick practised drag.

“Right then,” she breathes. “Are you still up for palm reading, doll?”

Peter clears his throat, his cheeks still deliciously pink, and nods. “If you’re up for it.”

“Oh, she’s always up for it, sweetheart. Obsessed with divination, that one is.” Sybill smacks at his arm.

“What he means to say is of course I am.” She takes another drag then hands it over to Barty before she starts nudging at his leg insistently. “C’mon, love, switch with me.”

“What?”

“Can’t exactly read his palms with you stuck in between us, can I? Come sit on my end.”

Barty snorts. “Yes, dear. Whatever you want, dear.”

Sybill preens when he stands and presents his seat to her with a theatrical bow. She moves to drop into his vacated middle seat, cross-legged and eager while she makes grabby hands at Peter. Barty flops over onto the end seat with a thump and peers over her shoulder as she grabs Peter’s hands and flips them palm-up, tracing the lines with her fingers.

“Alright, now let me see… Hm, your life line is pretty short— No, that doesn’t mean you’re going to die young. Don’t listen to Barty, he’s horrible at Palmistry. Anyways, let’s see… a strong head line, that’s good, that’s good… Your fate line could use some work, but that’s alright. Oh, your heart line is fantastic! Long and clear with many upwards branches… Oh, Barty, stop looking so smug…”

Sybill Trelawney is such an interesting character and I think giving so much of her characteristics to Pandora water them both down. Also the angst is so good? Like come on guys (more on this)

I actually think Severus Snape is an interesting characters.

You shouldn't buy official merch or tickets to events or anything that would give money to jkr because that makes her believe people support her in her views about Trans People.

hi! so u asked for unpopular opinions about marauders, so here i am, ready to deliever them

james potter was bully. he bullied not only snape but other people, he sexually assaulted snape. "oh, but that's because snape is a nazi!" yes, he is. i am not defending snape, he is an awful person. but james started bullying him, making fun of him, calling him names and stuff, when they were ELEVEN. he literally started making fun of him in the train. they haven't even talked to each other yet. he just overheard some boy in the train telling his friend that he would like to go slytherin and automatically decided to bully this boy. and that is something unforgivable and i hate that some people in this fandom try to portray snape as pure evil, because HE IS A MORALLY GRAY CHARACTER. he did a lot of awful things, he also did some good things, he also is a victim of abuse, of bullying and of sexual assault. and probably there is someone who's going to come to me and tell me that he was never sexually assaulted. well, james potter held him down, and took of his clothes against his will, including underwear, in front of a lot of people. basically he exposed snape's genitals against snape's will. he also tried to choke snape with soap bubbles, he heavily bullied him. his age is not an excuse, being 15 is not an excuse. if it was all really about snape being a nazi then that would be james's explanation for lily when she asked what his problem with snape was. if it was really about how much james hated purebloods supremacists, then he wouldn't focus on snape, but on mulciber and avery and wilkes and people like this. but instead he chose snape, because snape was an easy victim. and because of that: fuck james potter, i never really started to like him, i can only tolerate him in certain fanfiction

i couldn't care less about jegulus. i've read some awesome fanfictions, i've seen a lot of awesome art, but the ship on it's own doesn't really speak to me. it's a worse version of drarry, honestly, and i never was a big fan of drarry. i get with people like it but i'm just really tired of the fact that you cannot find anything about marauders without jegulus

this fandom has a lot of really toxic parts, especially when people talk about liking some rarepairs, there are so many people who attack them and threathen them and stuff. someone shipping james with barty is not a reason to send them death threaths.

also the fact that someone doesn't headcanon james as poc does not make them racist. someone not shipping a lesbian ship doesn't makes them a bad person and a person that hates lesbians. someone. a lot of people in this fandom just get really mad at people for no reason and it really should stop.

i don't really have any opinions on dorlene. i know that it's popular and stuff but i just don't get the hype. i prefer dorlily lilylene marylily and marylene and dormary and all other combinations between these girls, but dorlene... it just doesn't stand out to me that much.

this fandom really often portrays walburga as the abuser and orion as just... well, just being there and not really caring, or sometimes people just make him a good father, and honestly? it's the 70s. walburga is a woman. orion he is a man. you really think that she is the one in control here? i'm not saying that she is innocent, because she obviously isn't, but he isn't either and it annoys me that it's always "walburga's a+ parenting" and it's always her being abusive, and her being mad, and her being an awful person, and orion, oooh, poor babygirl, he wants to protect his kids from her but she is the one controling everyone in this house because she is in a position of power as a WOMAN IN 70S. nothing against walburga being portrayed as abusive, because she was abusive, but don't make orion innocent

First of all James Potter is my favourite character ever. He is my sweetheart and I kin him. So yeah, for me he is the perfect imperfection. I agree his made some mistakes, but I don’t view him the way you do. I’ve been there in high school, humiliating people that bully other innocent people or even my friends. I’m not proud of it, I’m just saying I know where he comes from. It’s not easy to stop a bully and I felt like putting them down was the only way to protect others, and I think James thought the exact same thing. Again I’m not proud and I don’t know if I’ll do it again.

On that same note. I hate Snape. I think nothing justify bullying an 11 year old. And he wanted to be a death eater. So I always hate him, in fanon and canon.

2. I loooove Jegulus, it’s my fav ship and I would only read something if it has Jegulus. lol. Total opposites. Mmm i think it’s a great love story and i never get tired of reading it. I’ve honestly never been a fan of Drarry but I don’t mind people shipping them.

4/10 but i see the potential here… barty’s personality is large enough to carry barty x peter (OR bartysybil) but the throuple becomes too overly complex

these three could be fantastic retail coworkers at a kitschy souvenir shop OR at a zumiez, over summer break. i could see a scenario where peter has had a crush on sybil for years, and barty sleeps with her solely to make peter feel terrible about himself. and they trade handjobs about it !
