I think we've talked about dysphoria from not having your abilities/powers that you remember having/should have, but I don't think we've talked about fear relating to it.
I mean, a normal human body is weak and hardly has any defense compared to what I could do. It would be like taking the hard scales and spikes from a dragon--you feel exposed, you're missing a part of you that kept you safe.
But.. we're disabled, on top of that. Not only am I weaker than I was before, but my body can't hold up to a lot of those around me who would otherwise be on similar levels. I can't stand for long. If I walk too much in a day my knees try to give out, and hurt for a week after. I can't throw a good punch. I can hardly even balance without a cane half the time. You've taken that metaphorical dragon, removed his spikes, teeth, claws, scales, wings and fire, and now he is soft. He's only skin and brittle bone. Now he is unsafe around other dragons--he wouldn't be able to win if some fight were to break out. He wouldn't be able to save himself.
It's that feeling of wrongness, of exposure, of knowing that so many things are threats now that weren't before. There's so much more that can get you. It's worse than the dysphoria itself. I would care less about losing what I had if I knew I could defend my system in this body, but I can't.
It's horrible.

I SWEAR TO FUCKCKING ANJSJDNSJBXBTHE DIVINE. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME ASPECT OF BEING HUMAN AND YET CRYPTIC BEFORE IN THE SENSE OF THE ILLUSTRATED SONG ā€œHARPY HAREā€, WHERE THESE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE SO CLEARLY REPRESENTING A CONCEPT OR CREATURE THEY ARENT EXACTLY IN THE BODY OF AND YET ARE TOTALLY RHE SAID CREATURE.
LIKE, AHHCJCK IT WAS A FLICKWRING MEMMORY BUT I CAN TELL. I CAN TELL THAT SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO BE PEOPLE AND YET ARE ANIMALS OR BEINGS OF ANOTHER FORM AT HEART HOLD A MUCH DEEPER GALACTICAL DEFINITION TO EXISTENCE.. LIKEznxnxjnzjskkbxkxbd
therians were always meant to exist, and people bonding over such a concept existed far earlier than the 2000s. Far far far earlier. I can litterally remember but I canā€™t CANT CANT FUCKING DESCRIBE IT.
Tell me you get it, right?

a lil shoutout to anyone else whose arospec identities feel influenced by alterhuman identities or experiences - otherkin whose kintypes' kinds of interpersonal connection/attraction don't fit well with traditional romance - therians whose theriotypes' instincts aren't structured around pair bonds - systems whose orientations are influenced by bleedover from other headmates' orientations etc <2
Alterhumans and alterhuman arospecs are 100% valid, as are their experiences :)

I am Travis Phelps,
I am Draco Malfoy,
I am a ragdoll cat, a glowing crystal, a bunny
I am Mono
I am Six
I am Furina, and Fischl, and Yoimiya
I am Sundrop, and Mangle
I am from my homeworld- and Iā€™ve seen many others on my way.
I am all the shades of green, and several blues.
I am a sunset and a sunrise
I am all the hues of rainbow after rain
All the stars, the sky and what reflects off the moon,
I am Light!
I am all that I say I am
Regardless if I am we
Or if we arenā€™t any
I am what I say I am
And feeling so- even just for a moment
Is better than any lie I tried to tell.

[Kinfession]
It feels kinda bad when you just don't experience memories often
Most of my fictionkin friends experience memories and stuff but I rarely do so I never know if I'm a canonmate of anybody
And sometimes people will talk about their memories to me and ask if I remember it and I'm like "idk man,,"
LIKEE some stuff could be a memory but also I'm an avid artist, writer, story maker, and daydreamer so like. could be a memory or just my brain being silly yk??
ANYWAYS I wanted to say: anyone who doesn't experience memories are also super valid!! It might feel invalidating because a lot of people do, but that doesn't matter! You're still a valid kin <3

I am once more asking KFFers to not post on the actual kin tags -sigh-
Edit: I just wanna clarify I have no problem with people who 'kin for fun'. I have no problem with people who have strong links towards characters due to relating to them a lot or just really liking them. I have no problem with people who literally funlink and become that thing or character because they thought it would be fun to do it. I just want to be able to browse tags for x-kin and not come across people whom I don't want to/can't talk to because my identity is probably 'too serious' for those who simply like the thing/character a lot but aren't actually them.

we've been having a lot of kin + nonhuman feelings lately and browsing some tags and it is really interesting how there tends to be a "common" way of being a certain kintype? I don't know if it's just because of the internet so that's what people see the most or if there's just a connection between the type and the individual. like how the majority of doll kin content seems to be very fem, centered around being fragile, being objectified, etc. which of course there's nothing wrong with being a doll in that way but it's interesting it's so prevalent when none of our doll and adjacent headmates experience their doll-ness in this way

Since it has been an issue in the past... please be aware that you are not close buddies with everyone you meet. Do not send us (or anyone!!) death threats trying to be cutesy and affirming since "I'm an anarchist and you're the state, so I have to destroy you >:3" because like, it's one thing when us and our friends do it with each other back and forth. We are both VERY distinctly aware that the other is not being serious. But depending on how you communicate, your joke death threat can be read as weird and uncomfortable at best and actively distressing at worst.
We have had to deal with circumstances where we genuinely feared for our life around certain beings because we planned to attend an event and one of the future event-goers expressed to us a very straight and succinct intent to kill us. And while that may seem stupid, "nobody would ever actually want to hurt you over a kintype," we come from a background where this is an actual thing that people really believe because we come from groups who take kintypes dead seriously. Someone thinking we should be removed from life in some capacity within a revolutionary future was not an insane thing to believe, so someone wanting to do so early was shocking but not unbelievable. And months later, after being horrified, we found out it was a horribly miscommunicated attempt at being nice.
First of all, actually absurd that individuals make the assumption we are okay with that and that is a normal way to affirm us as a stranger. Second of all, you never know where someone's comforts lie when it comes to affirmation. Even something less hardcore sounding, like dogkin! Some are okay with you babytalking (puppytalking?) them and acting affectionate with pets and cutesy nicknames. Others would see that as a form of harassment and get uncomfortable with such treatment. You can't assume these things, and you have to be aware that not everybeing's boundaries are the same. This is why you communicate, ask questions, and don't assume.

It appears that some people have misread a post of ours and drawn conclusions that were never intended.
Not sure how exactly to clarify our point; it would be a joy to see people not assume that requesting examination of conditioned biases = calling someone a bigot.
That is not at all what we wanted to convey.

People stop reblogging posts about our nonhumanity with "but humans do this!! this isnt a nonhuman thing!!" challenge. What are you trying to do here. What issue do you have with the way we express ourselves and the way we identify. I'm seriously considering turning reblogs off for some posts because every time they get notes it's another hit of dysphoria and sometimes accusatory wording toward us because how DARE we call HUMAN and NORMAL traits NONHUMAN. So scary.
Like seriously, you don't need to look at people expressing their nontraditional, stigmatised identity and go "oh but this can also be a thing us NORMAL people do, don't worry, you're not like THEM if you do these things!" all over it. Nonhuman is not a bad thing to be, and I think people should reevaluate why they feel the need to try and justify and reassure themselves about how human they are on OUR experience posts as a nonhuman, and say our experiences aren't a sign of nonhumanity at all. If you don't like nonhumans, this is not the blog for you. We, even those of us in here who are human, do not post for those who hate nonhumans.

Mood. We've had to stop playing games like this because we'd get unhealthily addicted to "number go up"
Like we'd get a withdrawal like effect, we'd get anxious about missing out on potential number going up if we didn't have whatever idle game we were obsessing over running in the background of our computer 24/7. Doing schoolwork? Keep it in the background and tab in like every 5 minutes to check in on it and buy upgrades. Planning D&D? Same thing.
Other games that use the "number go up" formula often got greedy with their players and kept trying to exploit their addiction to make them spend money, they made it more and more grindy until it was impossible for free-to-play people like us to keep up. (We didn't have a job, so no consistent money, so that's a reason why we were FTP. I dunno if we would've fallen into the trap of spending tons of money on games like these if we had a consistent income)
After getting disillusioned with our latest "number go up" simulator, I decided to try cookie clicker because I heard it wasn't pay to win. Yeah, I used an autoclicker too. And CC was pretty neat and all, it wasn't exploitative, which I appreciate- it was a grindy game in its purest state, grinding for the sake of grinding, gaining numbers for the hell of it, instead of trying to make money off of players- but since it wasn't actively trying to exploit us with FOMO it let us stop and think, and we realized we don't even enjoy these kinds of games that have taken up hours and hours of our lives.
So we made a rule for ourselves. No more of these games. From now on, we only play games if we're actually enjoying them, not just playing it out of obligation to make the number go higher. And it was really hard to stop playing since we got that same kind of withdrawal effect, the little itch in the back of the head that "I could be more productive right now, if I just had one of those games open in the background while I write I would be more productive" but we had to just fight that.
Anyway, that's not to say nobody should play these games. I'm not writing this to shame anyone for playing them, I'm not trying to sound preachy and hope that it doesn't come off that way- this comic just reminded me of our experience with these types of games and I felt like talking about it since we were addicted to these kinds of games for a good while. Some people will definitely be able to handle the addicting nature of these games better than we can. Some people genuinely enjoy the grind because it lets them just turn off their brain for a little while or not have to focus too much on something. Just be mindful to not let it become an addiction, is all.
So yeah that's the story of how we had an addiction to really grindy idle games
-Emyr (he/it)
Tumblr media
#video game addiction#game addiction#emyr post#we used to play idle champions of the forgotten realms an unhealthy amount since we really like D&D#to be fair that game taught us about a lot of important D&D figures we otherwise wouldn't recognize so we're grateful for that#Like Jarlaxle. we wouldn't have known who the hell he was while prepping our out of the abyss campaign without that game having him#and that game gave us an idea for his personality which will be really useful for playing him as an npc#and it also made him grow on us#idk how accurate the game's personality was of him but still we started out indifferent and ended up liking him#as much as we'd like to our adhd prevents us from reading the books with the big famous characters like him and drizzt and bruenor#so we would've had very little exposure to characters like these otherwise#maybe we should listen to audiobooks more. but i digress#they ended up introducing a battle pass thingy and we dipped#because the entire point of season pass battle pass whatever they're called is to exploit FOMO to get you to pay money and we have no money#So we got disillusioned and moved onto the next game#We also played creatures of sonaria on roblox for a very long time#it's not really an idle game in the traditional sense it's supposed to be a creature survival game#honestly the creature designs are awesome and the flight mechanics in that game really feels satisfying to use#like there's flapping and gliding and soaring and wind currents and you have to manage your stamina and aiming downwards makes you faster#really pleasing for me since i'm otherkin#most games just make flight like creative mode minecraft and it's boring#unfortunately it has a gacha system for getting new creatures and the only reliable way to get currency is to afk and check in now and then#so you don't get kicked for afk or die of hunger or thirst#the intention is that you get currency for playing the game more but there's nothing to do as long as you keep your creature fed and watere#the missions system helped this problem a little bit but not a huge amount in our experience#so that's why it becomes afk hell unless you want to hunt other players for sport but killing for fun is generally frowned on by many#since most players are just trying to afk for money since there's nothing else to do#so if you kill them it's really inconvenient for their grind but it's also the only form of entertainment unless a seasonal event is on#and if the seasonal event is on then you feel rushed to grind for event currency to get the cool new creatures#oh today i learned there's a maximum tag cap oops

This is a post for nonhumans, alterhumans, otherkin, therians, etc. Please read.
A list of shout outs to people who experiences things that are often looked down upon by the community.
Shout out to those with violent urges
Shout out to those who actually hunt/want to
Shout out to those with delusions or other mental illnesses
Shout out to those who want to attack something/someone
Shout out to those who feel more comfortable nude
Shout out to those who want to live in the wild
Shout out to those with kinks/fetishes related to their identity
Shout out to those who want to live/be treated like an animal
Shout out to those with "ugly", "gross", or "nasty" 'types
Shout out to those who want to sh because of their identity
Shout out to those who want raw meat
Shout out to those who like gore
Shout out to any "negative" experiences I've missed
Shout out to those who feel guilty for some/all these things
Shout out to those who don't.
Being alterhuman, nonhuman, etc. isn't just identifying as a cute little creature. When your identity leaves you often outcast by society, it can carry some pretty dark and/or negative traits. It's simply our nature as alter-beings, and we should learn to except ourselves and others for having these experiences.
I understand some of you may be triggered by dark, gorey, or generally morbid things, but that doesn't mean you should look down on or discriminate against those who deal with those experiences. There is a dark side to being alterhuman. Always has been.
My message here is that no matter how gross, violent, or otherwise your experiences may be, you are still loved and valid. Imbrace being a monster if that's what you'd like. As long as you're not hurting anyone you shouldn't hide from these feelings.

ā±Æ + N/AHAA - Together in Difference
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ā±Æ (derived from the mathematical symbol meaning 'for all', and pronounced as 'Turned A') is a symbol/term for any and all within our overlapping communities.
We (those involved in coining this term) realised there was no actual term that encompasses all identities, seeing as not everyone identifies with alterhuman or nonhuman.
This symbol is for:
Anyone and everyone who doesn't identify with the traditional definition of humanity. This involves alterhumanity, nonhumans, therians, human and nonhuman fictionkin, otherkin, endels, holotheres, clinical zoanthropes, linkers, otherhearted, and ANYONE else who has an addition to their humanity, isn't human in the slightest, and everything in between.
Anyone who is ready to celebrate the overlaps between our communities, and allow us to experience a wider community without trying to put everyone under a human or not human label.
The celebration of being different! To laugh in the face of 'cringe' and embrace your unique experience of life.
We're also, in this post, coining the acronyms N/AHAA and/or ASAA! These are Non/Alterhuman and Adjacents, and Alterspecies and Adjacents! They both mean exactly the same as ā±Æ, but are an easier to pronounce alternative.
The symbols in the pictures are completely free to use! They also don't have to be pawprints - we're working on alternate versions for different species.
Involved in coining:
@lycanm00n (me!), @koirankusema666, @canis-dentem, @howlinginsolitude and @devotional-devouring !
This symbol and term is NOT for any zoophiles, zootherians, MAPs, pedos, etc. Sanists, anti physical nonhumanity, ableists, and anyone fitting basic DNI is also not welcome to use this. This is a queer and neurodivergent friendly label.

To nonphysical folk:
Before you ask what a physical nonhuman/alterhuman/otherkin/therian is, please browse the physical nonhuman tag for a while. We as a collective group have explained it multiple times from many different angles. I think it's fair to check though that before asking us to explain our identity again.
I see it a lot and it's kinda annoying at least on our end to have to do it over and over, at first it made sense because it may have been a bit newer, but now there are plenty of explanations.
The quick definition is that you identify as physically your type. The reasons why someone may experience this way of existing are incredibly vast.
I think the tags #physical(ly) nonhuman and #holothere should have what you need.
