Just had the WORSSSSTTTTTTT embarrassment experience ever (it was fine) at my card store today

I went up cause theres finally some folks that play the one piece TCG that have been coming up and I was sat waiting for more people to show up and was talking to the other gal who was learning to play and our chitchat somehow ended up with me talking about my adhd (and unintentionally over explaining a bit) and she goes, “oh yeah I know that, I work with people with adhd”

And so I go, “oh cool! What do you do?”

“I’m a psychologist.”

The world has collapsed around me and I am punched in the face with the full processing of the fact I was just overexplaining adhd to a PHYSCOLOGOGIST.

#luckily she was agood sport about it and made a joke about this being so textbook it could be in the DSM5 #we laughed so hard at the embarrassment of it all she was so nice #BUT OH MAN DID I FEEL SO BAD ONCE MY BRAIN CAUGHT UP TO THE FACT I WAS OVER EXPLAINING #lifeblogging #wanted to become a puddle of mush that nobody looks at #we joked so hard about stuff like her looking at the dsm5 and looking at me and then going #’omgggg you have adhd AND autism??? who knewwwwww!’ in a sarcastic voice #it was really funny

Thinkin about how this weekend’s Pre-release event for Edge of Eternities went and how the magic community there greeted me since I had been gone from that atore for a month and this was the first big event since I came back and man….

Remembering how much it felt like a family ruinion or a family holiday

Like, people coming through the doors waving at me, greeting their friends greeting me, meeting newcomers to the gathering etc etc

My usual podmate even brought his daughter around and shes like, younger than 10 but already kicking her aunt’s ass at mtg and she finally got to play in the event and it was so fun seeing her get better at it (it helps that her dad is a seriously good player too lol, I rarely beat him when we play)

Heck, theres even those “relatives” you dont really like but you keep the peace with for the sake of comunity (mine is this scalper guy who sells singles and older packs at insane higher-than-market prices and is also a vocal trump supporter, but he only ever shows up for large gatherings and has been banned from talking politics at events by the owner)

It just really feels like a full family event, even if I’m related to nobody. Its a place where for once, I feel…. Normal.
