System therian culture is: wanting to tell our system's partner that there's 15 therians in our system, but not knowing if she knows about therians and trying to come up with ways to tell her, while also mentally preparing ourselves for questions. And then all of us going: "we'll figure it out later, let's be funky little critters for a bit". (One of us said "little" despite one of us being a dragon therian, which is a bit funny to us)

I don't get this kind of people, we have some introjects who also are otherkin/therian/fictionkin and they're chilling out so happy

Having some Thoughts about being an Avatar...

It's really interesting to me how I have a different relationship with each Entity, and they came to me in different ways/at different times.

The Hunt, I think, I was always destined for, Marked by it for as long as I can remember. I was always a dragon, a wild animal, a primal, feral, hunter. Some of my earliest memories are wishing I could run into the woods and become some wild animal, some predator. I always loved the chase. As soon as I listened to TMA and heard of the Hunt, I Knew I Belonged to It.

The Vast, similarly, I have always been Marked by. I've always been a creature of the sky and the stars. So many of my past lives, my souls, are winged. The longing to soar is one I have always felt. But it took me longer to connect that to the Vast. It was only a year or so ago, and I remember the exact moment I went from being Marked to choosing to Become. I was on a trip to visit family, and while we were in the airport I was reading a Vast!Jon fic that just. Resonated, clicked. And I remember after that, while on the plane, looking out the window and truly seeing the sky, how small the world was beneath me. And then we hit some turbulence, and I could Taste the fear around me, and the swoop in my stomach was exhilarating. I boarded that plane an Avatar of the Hunt and Corruption, and I left it an Avatar of the Vast as well. As soon as I got home from that trip, i set up an altar to the Endless Horizon.

What's interesting to note is that both of those Marks were with me for as long as I can remember, longer than this life even- as they are connected to my kintypes/facets/past life souls. That's why I think my fictotype, another facet, is an Avatar of the Hunt and Vast, but not Corruption. The Corruption came to me here.

After listening to the Magnus Archives and immediately being claimed by the Hunt, I felt like there was another Entity Calling to me. I couldn't figure out which one, but I knew something Sang to me. I interacted with the fandom, read fanfiction, tried to figure out which one it was. I found a collection of fan songs made for the Entities on YouTube, and I used the Hunt one as a devotional hymn. Listening through the others, I heard the one for the Corruption. And it.. there's no words for it, it Sang. Not just out loud but under my skin, wrapped around my bones, filling my lungs. And I Knew that was my Call, my Song. And that I could Belong to it, could join the Chorus, if I chose. And I did.

That Mark was in this life, and this life only though. The Corruption part of me has not become a facet, but instead is part of the Core- the 'me' that is all of my facets and my body combined.

Not sure if it's a Weird Eldritch thing, a Weird Median thing, or my Weird Median thing being affected by my Weird Eldritch thing, but I think its fascinating. Also, a great excuse to tell the stories of how I Became!

Might write more later about how im Eye-Touched but won't Become, how Smirke's 14 fails in matters such as these, and the optimistic nihilism of Vast that's affected how I think about all these labels in the first place.

nonhuman plural culture is not being sure if i want to identify as otherkin, because i *am* physically nonhuman. just not in my body right now. so it feels different. i dunno if that makes sense

We have a similar issue cuz like... a lot of otherkin/therian thing is a spiritual thing related to reincarnation and someone is who don't believe in that stuff fully feel like it would be disrespectful to identify that way

But like.. at the same time??? Ya know??
