Plural culture is having "persecutor parties" where after a rough day all the persecutors end up fronting at once and just dissociating so hard because 3 of them won't stop yelling at each other while the other two are trying to do chores
(spoiler warning; nothing gets done and we stare at a wall for like 3 hours)

Hey, you know that persecutor alter you got there? The one you keep from fronting usually because you're afraid they're gonna do something awful and hurt you or hurt someone you love or anything else you just don't want to happen?
Can you do me a favor and get them some ice cream for me please? Or if you're allergic or lactose intolerant or just hate ice cream, any other treat you think they may like? Or if they don't like anything maybe share a favorite food with them? Or a favorite toy? Just. Show them there's some nice things out there in the world, too. That it's not all hurt and trauma out there. And that you care about them or even just respect their right to exist.

System roles do not have to be your entire identity. You do not have to conform to the stereotypes of them, and you do not have to hold your role alone or without help. You do not need to keep them forever, either. They may be what you were placed into the system to help with, and they may be something you are good at--but it does not have to be you forever.
I am a persecutor, and that does not mean I should be treated differently or harmed. Being a persecutor does not mean that everyone should be scared of you by default either.
Protectors should not be expected to be strong and emotionless walls to put in front of everything all the time. They do not need to be tools.
Comforters might need a break to unload their own stress and need comfort in turn. They do not need to give all of themselves to everyone else and never expect help back.
Littles may not be littles forever, and should not be devalued just because they are children. They are just as real and alive as any other system member and should be taken into account.
Trauma/memory holders might need help to cope with the things they hold, and sometimes when the time is right it means sharing that burden. Maybe there is no right time, but they deserve support whether they can share those memories or not.
Gatekeepers may need a break from controlling switches or access to front, and should be allowed one if needed. Gatekeeping can be a lot of work.
Hosts do not need to do everything for the body or system all the time. Sometimes, being the host of a system can be hard, and support and breaks are deserved.
Systems often put a lot of weight on roles, and it can impact the way that those who have them can feel about their role. It is okay to fit into your role, but it is also okay to not fit, or to end up not fitting your role over time. Some headmates can feel like a failure if they do not uphold their role, some can feel like they have no other choice even if they wanted to not perform it. But a role is a description, it is not an essence of who you are and will forever be. This may be non-traditional but we use roles exclusively as self descriptors so that we do not get wrapped up in what we "should be". If the label no longer fits, or if you need help more than you might have in the past, that is okay.
Be kind to yourselves, and be kind to your other headmates.

can i just say, it’s really gross how so much of the plural community (as well as doctors, therapists, and friends of systems) sincerely recommends hurting persecutors in order to make them stop persecuting. the amount of stories i’ve seen where systems are bragging about how they beat their persecutor/s into submission is disgusting. persecutors deserve to heal and to love and to be loved just as much as anyone.

Dangerous Persecutors
The thing about persecutors is that there is a high level of nuance that systems as a community (especially the cesspool of syscord) don't talk about in a way that can help recently discovered systems navigate a healthy relationship with these alters.
In case you need to hear this; yes, some alters and persecutors are not safe for the system or responsibilities outside the system. No, some alters are not ready to work on themselves through the power of 'magic and friendship'. Some are violent towards the body or other things like animals/pets, wanting to destroy precious items or spend the system's money maliciously, or intentionally wanting to hurt people close to the system. THIS IS NOT THE SYSTEM'S FAULT OR THE COLLECTIVE ACTIONS OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WHEN AN ALTER DOES ACT THIS WAY. However: It is the system's responsibility in this situation is to do everything it can to control said alter's fronting or take appropriate actions to minimize this behavior/damage.
"That's not nice :(((" is going to mean nothing to them. Some will take years of help and patience to become a team member in the system, and safe to front alone.
One of our oldest members was a persecutor who did not begin his healing until almost 8 years later. It was not until his actions led to him losing the most important person and the only thing he cared about for him to finally be ready to listen and see his faults. And for some alters it will unfortunately be the only way to get off that path and listen.
This alter is not a bad person for how they formed; it is so important to remember that alters form as they are for a reason, and persecutors are most often doing things or believing fully their actions are the right ones, for the system's well-being or their own. And while you need to keep your system safe, you also have to have that patience and system teamwork extended to the struggling alter. In extreme cases, professional help is most often what is needed, especially when they pose a physical threat to others or the body.
They may spit in your face, and threaten that the second they are free they will do horrible things. But It is going to take a combination of both listening to this alter and granting them humanity, while also protecting yourself and people who are at risk of these alter's actions.

IMPORTANT PSA ABOUT 'PROBLEMATIC SOURCES'
If you ban certain alters from certain sources from your space, you are being abelist. No one controls how introjects form, no one controls their source and no one exists just to trigger you. Try to take a minute to realize that excluding those alters alienates so many systems. It's not up to you how systems cope.

myths on persecutors.
that they are all evil - this is untrue - they simply enact a trauma response. obviously, if they do something bad, that doesn't excuse it (also, see system accountability), but persecutors aren't inherently evil or bad people.
that they do bad things for the sake of it - again, it's a trauma response.
that they are always rude and non caring - persecutors are people, too. they have emotions and personality and while they often have difficulties expressing feelings, that doesn't mean they don't possess them.

I support 'problematic' alters.
That;
Cause problems constantly
Get people angry
Get banned and blacklisted in servers
Are hated by their system members
Don't regret any of it
Are not allowed to front due to all the above and more
You are good enough, you are allowed to be upset and angry. You can be yourself. You are not less for being 'problematic'.

I'm a persecutor.
I know it's easier to ignore us, to lock us away. We're the ugly parts of you, after all. The parts of you that you wish never existed, that you don't want anyone else to see. The parts that try to hurt people and hurt you for whatever reason. I get it, it's really fucking frustrating to deal with us.
Sorry pal, but we exist. Trying to ignore us just makes our pain stronger. Trying to punish us keeps makes us want want to hurt you back. Trying to lock us away make our emotions grow more and more. You can't get rid of us. We're you, even if you wish we weren't.
And that means you gotta deal with us.
Yeah, I get it. You don't want us causing you trouble in your oh-so-perfect life. Ruining your friendships, your school, your job, your reputation. You think by getting rid of us you're dealing with us. Stop it.
Please, stop it.
It hurts, so fucking much. Don't you see why we exist? We're the parts of you who went through some of the worst traumas of the system. We act this way because it's what fucking got us through life. To survive. You probably don't see it that way, hell you probably don't even remember the things I had to go through. And I may not either! But I still exist. And if you push me away, that means you're rejecting a part of you.
Even if you see me as a separate person or a separate entity, at the end of the day.... we share a brain. A life. Am I not allowed to live my own fucking life with you? Do I not deserve the same kind of help? Hell, if you want selfish reasons, helping me, genuinely, trying to be kind to me, will help you. Maybe I'll actually try to work with you instead of against you. Or maybe I'll even just leave you alone! Or, or, get this. I change for the better, and I start trying to help out instead of doing damage. Yeah? Sounds nice, right?
I'm so sick and tired of people saying how it's okay to lock up their persecutors and punish them. No! Stop that! Punishment doesn't work. Yes, we should have consequences for our actions that are a direct result of our behaviors. I was shitty to a friend? I lose the trust of that friend. I hurt the body? I have to sit with the pain myself. But that's not fucking, locking us away forever.
I mean, sure. I get it. Sometimes we're out of control and you need some way to get that control back under your belt. And yeah, maybe you need to temporarily keep us away from front and away from other alters. But.... it really, really shouldn't be permanent. We also deserve to learn healthier behavior and healthier coping habits and a safe space to express ourselves. Fuck, if you could help us find healthier ways of expression that would be great!
Just please, please. Stop hurting us the same way we were hurt as kids.

things that DONT automatically make an alter a persecutor:
- having a flat tone
- not using tone indicators
- being mean once on accident
- being mean once on purpose
- doing something self destructive
- being sad/angry all the time
- telling someone off
- YOU THINKING THEY ARE A PERSECUTOR.
- YOU DISLIKING THAT ALTER.
dont sit there and tell someone their alter is a persecutor just because you dislike them or you are personally uncomfortable with them. it is up to a system to label their OWN alter that, not you.

Plural culture as an anger holder, persecutor, and protector, is getting more and more annoyed at how much ppl on this community seem to think labeling sexuality and gender is one of the most important things ever.
It's not apart of my job to be attracted to people, or label how I feel.
I've had ppl try and tell me I'm aroace because I don't care to be attracted to people. I'm not.
If I was anything, it would be wholey unlabeled.
Let alters not label themselves, because for some of us, it's not fucking important. We don't need to. We have more important shit going on than who we want to fuck
